How do you get the ID of a control in ASP.NET

I am attempting to loop through an array of numbers, match them to the checkbox they they are associated with, and checkmark that box. My checkbox is set up like: <input type="checkbox" runat="server" id="someID" name="somename" value="1234" /> My code when the page loads currently looks like: foreach (string interest in interests_Var){ foreach (var c in Page.Controls) { } } interests_Var is my array containing different numbers. We'll assume one of them is 1234. While looping through the page controls, I want to compare the value of the control to my number. If it equals my number, I want to then apply the attribute checked="checked". I'm assuming I have to find the ID of the control I am using, then use that ID to add a new attribute. Or is there a way I can add the attribute using the c variable? I'm not dead set on this setup, so if you know a better way, I'm all ears. Thanks for any help and suggestions.

Cannot get principal id on my Spock test

passing session id via url

I'm trying to get my script to use url session id instead of cookies. The following page is not picking up the variable in the url as the session id. I must be missing something. Android/ORMLite Insert Row with ID

I'm currently using ORMLite to work with a SQLite database on Android. As part of this I am downloading a bunch of data from a backend server and I'd like to have this data added to the SQLite database in the exact same format it is on the backend server (ie the IDs are the same, etc). So, my question to you is if I populate my database entry object (we'll call it Equipment), including Equipment's generatedId/primary key field via setId(), and I then run a DAO.create() with that Equipment entry will that ID be saved correctly? I tried it this way and it seems to me that this was not the case. If that is the case I will try again and look for other problems, but with the first few passes over the code I was not able to find one. So essentially, if I call DAO.create() on a database object with an ID set will that ID be sent to the database and if it is not, how can I insert a row with a primary key value already filled out? Thanks!

I am using the ToolkitScriptManager from the Ajax tool kit and I am having a problem finding my button's ID. My ID's on my controls come back with $ symbols instead of _ symbols, like the following: Grid$ctl06$insertButton This obviously causes problems when attempting to find the control from the Page.Request.Form keys. I cannot seem to find the determining factor that would cause this. Now, I know this is the name and in my source I see that the ID is with the _, so why is the Page.Request.Form showing up with the $ symbol instead? Anybody encounter this before?

can I change my open ID URL change?

I wanted to know if I can change my open ID url from say: www.abc.com/username to www.pqr.com/username while the relying party still thinks I am the same user? or even say: www.abc.com/something/username to www.abc.com/somethingelse/username I intuitively think that this is not possible since if it were, then it is possible for anyone to spoof anyone else's identity. Also, does Open ID specify which fields the relying party should use to ensure secure determination of the user's identity? For example, I would expect it to club the URL provided with the username/email address sent back by the Open ID server.

I am currently trying to display the username of people who i am following, the problem is that during the following process, only the ID of me and the person i'm following is stored. I've got it to the point where the ID's are displayed but i'd like to show the names hyperlinked. $p_id is the profile ID. Hi, I am using a jquery contextmenu plugin for right click menus which I am trying to add to each li element of an unordered list with the ID mailbox. The code I have is: $("#mailbox > li").contextMenu('myMenu1', { bindings: { 'open': function(t) { alert('Trigger was '+t.id+'\nAction was Open'); } //CODE SNIPPED }); My assumption is that this should alert the id of the list element that the contextMenu was called from, however it is returning an empty string. Encrypted ID in URLs

I am trying to hash or encrypt a record's ID for URL's such that people can't view various records simply by guessing different integer ID's. Essentially, my URL's would be something like this: /plans/0AUTxwoGkOYfiZGd2 instead of /plans/304. Would the best way to do this just be to use SHA-1 to hash the plan's id and store it in a hashed_id column for plans? Then, overwrite to_param and add a finder to find by hashed_id? How do you ensure that the characters generated are 0-9, a-z, or A-Z? Thanks!

Adding <span> tags to all text nodes between custom self closing tags.

I have a pair of custom self closing tags s1 and s2 defined in namespace x in my xhtml. For each tag pair s1, s2 having the same id, I want to add span tags to all the text nodes between them. Each s1, s2 tag pair have a unique id. The s1 tag has an attribute 'styleName' which needs to be copied as the class name for the span tags populated for the s1,s2 pair. Within a s1, s2 tag pair, other s1, s2 tags can occur. It is the id attribute of the tags s1 and s2 that help us to find the postion from where we need to start populating the span(for text nodes alone) and the end where we need to stop. In case of common text nodes that is part of the multiple s1, s2 pairs then the span tags needs to be opened and closed appropirately as shown in the sample below. I am not specific with the format of the id populated for the span tag. Along as it is unique it is fine. Can we achive this kind of a solution using XSL. I am using Saxon processor. Synergy 1.4.2 Linux server, OSX client, Media/Function key mapping issues

I'm using an Apple bluetooth keybord to control my Linux synergy server. SSH tunneling, Mouse, Keyboard, and Copy&Paste all work. Linux sees all the media/app keys that are on top of the F# keys correctly. However if I press any of those keys while controlling my OSX client, nothing happens on the client. Running synergys with -d DEBUG1 I can see the following keycode info: Pressing the "dim monitor" key that also serves as F1 generates: new mask: 0x2000 event: KeyPress code=232, state=0x0010 new mask: 0x2000 If I press "fn" and the same key, I can see it sending what I'm assuming is an F1: event: KeyPress code=67, state=0x0010 onKeyDown id=61374 mask=0x2000 button=0x0043 send key down to "foo.cisco.com" id=61374, mask=0x2000, button=0x0043 new mask: 0x2000 event: KeyRelease code=67, state=0x0010 onKeyUp id=61374 mask=0x2000 button=0x0043 send key up to "foo.cisco.com" id=61374, mask=0x2000, button=0x0043 I'm guessing I need to tweak my synergy.conf so that the server sends keys that it currently isn't. It would be better to finesse the specific target OSD notification to cancel, by using org.freedesktop.Notifications.CloseNotification(uint id). Is there an interface method that can put this on (in?) the DBus to fire when a particular notify event occurs? The method will need to get the notify PID to use as the argument for CloseNotification(uint id). Alternatively, qdbus org.freedesktop.Notifications \ /org/freedesktop/Notifications \ org.freedesktop.Notifications.CloseNotification(uint id) could be used from the shell, if the (uint id) argument could be determined. The actual command syntax would use an integer in place of (uint id). Perhaps a better question to ask first might be "How is the DBus address for a notification found?". In hindsight the previous question "How is the (uint id) for a notification found?" is rhetorical! I have a simple HTML landing page setup for an online product I want to sell. This product is a hardcover book. I want to be able to allow other people to setup their own landing pages and make a percentage of the sale from their site. What are some good payment processors or payment gateways that make setting up an affiliate system easy and fast? Clarification - When someone purchases an item, I want (whatever the payment processor is) to automatically route a percentage of that payment to the affiliate and the rest to the original author.) Are there any payment frameworks that already do this? I've found a few sites that let you do this, but they seem to restrict you to digital purchases only. However, my sites is selling a ship-able product and the affiliate system needs to support this.

Counting product releases if you work on the backend/online services?

I am trying to update my resume, and I would like to count the number of "product releases" that I was directly involved in with a company. It would seem to serve as a performance metric. The problem is that I was working on the backend of a very large distributed system, like along the lines of Hadoop or other huge database. We had regular 6-month major releases and other minor releases. My manager kept saying that "shipped" these releases, but "shipping" a product to me sounds like releasing single pieces of software, like Microsoft would ship Office 11 or something. Any ideas on "product releases" for backend service engineers, or any other type of performance metric?

Are there Any Concerns with Importing Document Files From a Competing Product?

I have a new product that serves the same purpose as my competitor's long-standing product. One thing I have considered doing is allowing my program to import document files created by their product in order to provide an easy way for users to migrate towards mine. Naturally, this would be done without the competitor's permission, as it goes against their interests. I've seen this done before with office suite software (e.g. Open Office and Apple Pages can import MS Word documents), but I'm wondering if there are any concerns, legal or ethical, with me doing this. I fully expect any answers will most likely fall under the "I am not a lawyer" clause, but it would be helpful to have a starting point for anything I would need to be aware of, or if I shouldn't need to worry.

How to properly shield a Product Owner from outside?

Update: We are a very small team (3 people) and thus I (Scrum Master) and the Product Owner are also developers doing some coding. We are aware of this situation and we are actively trying to recruit some new talents. But it's hard! Meanwhile... we need to adapt... so my question: The Product Owner complains about having too much outside noise (mainly stakeholders feature requests), and he can't focus on the sprint realisation. We agree that we should try to educate people on our process implications (sprint durations and product backlog), to reduce the noise. But as a Scrum Master, how am I supposed to shield a PO from outside? Isn't he supposed to be in contact with the management and business? Also, if people outside don't want to waste too much time learning agile, what is the best way to educate them?

Hi, does anyone know how i can get the id of any element when the mouse is over ? I want to show a div (box) over the elements (tags) the mouse is over. I cannot modify the tags to include a mousover event. I want a global callback or something like that to have the id of the tag which is under the mouse pointer. Thanks !
