i'm using this script http://jqueryui.com/demos/autocomplete/#default with database. i want to highlight typed words like this: www.docs.jquery.com/Plugins/Autocomplete. Please help me.
I have a script that generates two lines as output each time. I'm really just interested in the second line. Moreover I'm only interested in the text that appears between a pair of #'s on the second line. Additionally, between the hashes, another delimiter is used: ^A. It would be great if I can also break apart each part of text that is ^A-delimited (Note that ^A is SOH special character and can be typed by using Ctrl-A)
When I am in edit mode on any row of my GridView and I press Return while the focus is in one of the row's textboxes, instead of triggering the update button, my GridView1.RowEditing event is fired with a NewEditIndex of 0
This causes the first row to become editable and I lose any values typed into the previous row.
How can I stop this from happening?
Thanks
I'm doing something very similar to the stackoverflow question preview only much more basic.
user types in text area - keyup shows what they've typed in preview
new lines aren't working
$('input, textarea').keyup(function(){
var value = $this.attr('value').replace('\n', '<br />').replace('\r', '<br />');
$('p.preview').html(value);
})
I recently learned the ezplot function in MATLAB. Recently I typed in
ezplot('x^y - y^x', [-100 100 -100 100]);
and this is what I got;
Can anyone please tell me whatever is happening ? for lower scaling of x and y ( [ -10 10 -10 10]) there are more patterns in the 2nd 3rd and 4th quadrants.
I was not very sure of the shape of curve, but I did not expect this !
Parametrized components work well with the cake pattern as long as you are only interested in a unique component for each typed component's, example:
trait AComponent[T] {
val a:A[T]
class A[T](implicit mf:Manifest[T]) {
println(mf)
}
}
class App extends AComponent[Int] {
val a = new A[Int]()
}
new App
Now my application requires me to inject an A[Int] and an A[String], obviously scala's type system doesn't allow me to extends AComponent twice. What is the common practice in this situation ?
I want to document the default value of an enum typed field:
/// <summary>
/// The default value is <see cref="Orientation.Horizontal" />.
/// </summary>
public Orientation BoxOrientation;
The compiler warns that it couldn't resolve the reference. Prefixing F: or M: silences the compiler, but E: also does, so I'm unsure what prefix is correct.

Note: Have checked mutliple time that UserName / Password are typed in correctly
Error Details:
Login failed for user 'User123' (Net.SqlClient Data Provider)

hi,
i have a value like that
var myvalue=myfunction(1,2);
what I need is that
GETTING myfunction(a,b) as a string..
I mean not "myfunction's value"
hmmm, let me explain,
myfunction(1,2) returns 1+2=3
if I type
alert(myvalue)
it returns 3
but I need myfunction(a,b) AS IT'S TYPED when I use alert. NOT IT'S VALUE
think it like
var myvalue='myfunction(a,b)'
now, if i use Alert, it gives me myfunction(a,b)
how can I do that?
I have some DropDownList controls where the list is very large, so I would like to have a means for the user to filter the list, either based on other fields, e.g. region, or on the first letters typed in a textbox. How can I achieve this in ASP.NET? Is the an open source control out there that will help me?
I have a text area and the problem is people are typing a large amount of text and I have it clearing out the value and forcing an N/A so I can force something to be entered. How can I make the script below validate someone has already typed something (and not clear it out) but still clear out the N/A by default?
textarea name="req_WhatMadeItDifficultToUse" cols="35" onfocus="this.value = '';" onblur="if(this.value == '') this.value = 'N/A';" id="WhatMadeItDifficultToUse"N/A
Is there a way to have keyup, keypress, blur, and change events call the same function in one line or do I have to do them separately?
The problem I have is that I need to validate some data with a db lookup and would like to make sure that there is no way that the validation is missed weather it is typed or pasted into the box.
REPL's are very useful for live debugging and experimentation. Most dynamic languages such as Ruby, Python, etc come with one built-in, however it is more difficult to build one for a statically-typed language such as C++.
Despite the technical challenges, are there any REPL's available for C++?
I have a simple page structure like below
/directory/subdir_1/index.php
/directory/subdir_2/index.php
....
(there are no other files in these directories)
is it possible to have 'fake/pretty' urls for the above files as below?
/directory/subdir_1
/directory/subdir_2
...
so this path would show whether the visitor typed that,/directory/subdir_2/ or /directory/subdir_2/index.php.
Many thanks
Private Sub TextBox1_KeyPress(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.KeyPressEventArgs) Handles TextBox1.KeyPress
Dim allowedChars As String = "0123456789$,"
If allowedChars.IndexOf(e.KeyChar) = -1 Then
' Invalid Character
e.Handled = True
End If
End Sub
this code accept only digits and its working like a charm but if i typed a wrong number its not allowing me to use the delete or the backspace on the keyboard how to solve this problem ?

I have a custom tableViewCell with a UITextLabel inside it.
When the cell is first displayed, the place holder is shown and then disappears when the user types something in.
What I want is to go back to the parent view, and then to the sub view again, and that the field will show the text that the user previously typed.
If I set the text field, simply with setText, the textField is not editable.
Any idea?
I would like to hook a character typed in an input text field and type '1' in the field in case 'a' was pressed.
Here is the code:
<html>
function translate_code(charCode) {
switch (charCode) {
case 65: //
return '1' ;
case 97:
return '9';
}
}
function noEnglish(event) {
if (event.charCode) {
var charCode = event.charCode;
} else {
var charCode = event.keyCode;
}
if (65
So, you are using a bunch of javascript libraries in a website. Your javascript code calls the several APIs, but every once in a while after an upgrade, one of the API changes, and your code breaks, without you knowing it.
How do you prevent this from happening?
I'm mostly interested in javascript, but any answer regarding dynamically typed languages would be valuable.
So I already have a database setup with a few columns and a few rows already inserted in. I'm trying to create a view that you would just input information into a form and press Submit, then a row would be added to the MySQL database with the information you just typed in.
I believe you can do this with admin, but I would like to try without admin and I'm not sure if this is possible? I've been using the MySQL commandline to add rows as of now..
Polymorphic kinds are an extension to Haskell's type system, supported by UHC, allowing
data A x y = A (x y)
to be typed (kinded?) as a -> (a -> *) -> *. What are they useful for?
is there some way to do databinding with linq2SQL or EntityFramework using "typed links" to the bound property?
Public Class Form1
Dim db As New MESDBEntities 'datacontext/ObjectContext
Dim bs As New BindingSource
Private Sub Form1_Load(sender As System.Object, e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load
bs.DataSource = (From m In db.PROB_GROUP Select m)
grid.DataSource = bs
TextBox1.DataBindings.Add("Text", bs, "PGR_NAME")
TextBox1.DataBindings.Add("Text", bs, db.PROB_GROUP) '**<--- Somthing like this**
End Sub
End Class
I'd like to have type checking when compiling and the model changed.
I'm sure Wave doesn't poll the server every millisecond to find out if the other user has typed something... so how can I see what the other person is typing as they type? And without hogging the bandwidth.
It seems pretty common to me to have an argument, in a dynamically typed language that is either an Object or a key to lookup that object. For instance when I'm working with a database I might have a method getMyRelatedStuff(person)
All I really need to lookup the related stuff is the id of the person so my method could look like this in python:
def getMyRelatedStuff(person_or_id):
id = person_or_id.id if isinstance(person,User) else person_or_id
#do some lookup
Or going the other direction:
def someFileStuff(file_or_name):
file = file_or_name if hasattr(file,'write') else open(file_or_name)
Is it to possible to capitalize the letters in a Textfield as they are being typed by the user in Java?
E.g. The user would type 'hello' and 'HELLO' would appear in the Textfield.
(Odd request and I don't like the idea either.)
