• C# BackgroundWorker RunWorkerCompleted Event

  My C# application has several background workers. Sometimes one background worker will fire off another. When the first background worker completes and the RunWorkerCompleted event is fired, on which thread will that event fire, the UI or the first background worker from which RunWorkerAsync was called? I am using Microsoft Visual C# 2008 Express Edition. Any thoughts or suggestions you may have would be appreciated. Thanks.

• SPAZ to connect to Laconica

  I installed a local version of Laconica microblogging in my env. Then I downlowaded SPAZ (an AIR client) to try and talk to the Laconica app. I get an authenitcation error. I have put in the appropriate credentials - I think :) But I think that I have to alter the API and base URL for connecting. Ayone have any thoughts on how to make these two apps talk ? • Can the current date be inserted into output through XSLT v1.0

• Different values for Time.now when using activerecord

  I have this weird situation: When I do on rails console Time.now or Time.zone.now I get the same values (suppose they run at the sime time: 2014-06-05 23:38:06 -0300) But when I use Time.now in a query like: Match.where("datetime = ?", Time.now) it returns the time 3 hours ahead! .to_sql output: SELECT `matches`.* FROM `matches` WHERE (datetime = '2014-06-06 02:38:06') any thoughts on that? • How to define a constant when running script/server?

  I want to start up my Rails development server like this: script/server OFFLINE_MODE=1 and have a method that checks for the presence of that constant: helper_method :offline_mode? def offline_mode? defined?(OFFLINE_MODE) ? true : false end so I can hide stuff in my app when I'm coding without access to the internet. For some reason though, OFFLINE_MODE doesn't ever seem to be defined and the method always returns false.. thoughts?

• Directory name "cache" in IIS 5.

  In IIS 5 one of the directories off the root has a leading underscore. All files under the directory are unreachable (404) from the browser. I have verified that the paths are correct. • CKEditor Custom Plugins Button

  I've written a custom plugin for CKEditor--successful on all fronts, save one currently: I can't, for the life of me, figure out how to customize the image on the button in the toolbar of the editor. As I'm a new user, you'll have to click through to see attached image; the highlighted square in the top left should have a pretty picture (like most of the other toolbar items). • Using pydev with Eclipse on OSX

  I setup PyDev with this path for the python interpreter /System/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.5/Python since the one under /usr/bin were alias and Eclipse won't select it. I can run my python script now but cannot run the shell as an external tool. The message I get is variable references empty selection ${resource_loc} Same if I use {container_loc} Any thoughts ? • iPhone Application failing to come back from sigkill

  I have no idea if this is intended behaviour, but whenever the application exits (say, the user is double-clicking the home button and pressing on the red dash on the icon) I get the dreaded SIGKILL. Now, when I try to launch the app again all I get is the old screen state and a frozen (I presume ?) program. It could be because of clunky memory management, but NSZombieEnabled doesn't seem to agree. Any thoughts ?

  assume that i start coding an application from scratch, is the best way to create tables when using Doctrine, to manually create tables in mysql and then generate models from the tables, or is it the other way around, that is to create the models in php and then generate tables from models? and if i already have a database, will the models created be optimal? cause i have heard some say that its best to create the database from scratch when using ORM, so that the relations are optimized for OOD. share your thoughts!

• PHP variable mutation. Array passed to function becomes a 1
