  • visual c# 2010 communicating between two projects

    I am trying to create a windows form project, and use speech recognition for the Kinect with the Kinect to Windows SDK. I have the form application project (p1) and the Kinect speech project (p2) which is a command prompt. I made it a command prompt because it was the easiest way to do things. Anyway, I have read and found two things about this. 1)I found out how to run two projects at the same time in the same solution. 2) I also found out how to add references to get classes from each project to the other. So, how would I get variables from each project? Just by using project references, or something? P2 can recognize speech and save it to variables, if that counts for anything.

  • Modifying the Label Property(text and font) by a custom ComboBox

    I have created a custom combobox that has a LABEL property so when we drop it on a form, we can say the Label associated with this ComboBox is say Label2 this is what I wrote for its label property.   • passing array fields to jquery ajax

    I have a form I am submitting via jquery ajax. Early in the form, I have this field: <select name="inquirymodule[]" id="inquirymodule"> The user can add as many as they like, and all the selects go into the inquirymodule[] array. The jQuery looks like this: jQuery.ajax({ type: 'POST', url: 'ajax.php', dataType: 'json', data: { inquirymodule: jQuery("select[name='inquirymodule[]']").serialize(), }, error: function(XMLHttpRequest, textStatus, errorThrown) { alert('error'); } }); That works fine. Trying to do the same thing with a date, like this: <input class="formInput" type="text" id="startBreak0" name='startbreak[]' /> adding startbreak: jQuery("select[name='startbreak[]']").serialize() to the ajax call. It doesn't work, I cannot see why. Suggestions?

    I use the info button to display a settings page. This page is a modal. I need another button from here to display "About" info, since I've already used "info" for something. I have a search form that is accessed only from the modal. On the search form, I need a help icon. I can use the info button but that seems confusing, since I already use the info button from the main view to access the modal. What else can I do for help and about icons/buttons?

  • Having access to a private variable from other classes in Java

    If I want to create a form that adds people to a List, how do I have access to that List from another class? Where would I define that List so other classes can access the members, the size, etc? For example, if I have Class Foo that has the GUI for my form, along with buttons to add and remove people to the List, it would make sense to me to declare the List as a private instance variable of Class Foo. But then if I have another class, Class Bar, how does it get the values that are currently in that List to update some other graphical components? Or is that the wrong place to declare the List in general? Thanks.

    I am an active user of workspaces in Ubuntu. Until recently, pressing Ctrl+Alt+D (show desktop) acted only on the current workspace. For example, one might want to minimize the applications in the current workspace, open a file, and then bring some of them back. The current implementation works on all workspaces uniformly which is counter-intuitive to me. The reason for the existence of workspaces is the separation of logic -- one can have a browser open in one workspace, a text editor in another, a terminal in a third. The current functionality goes against this idea. Is there a way to restrict the action of the show desktop command to a single workspace only?

    If I create a JQuery widget (code example below), and then define a "public" method, is there any other way to call the method other than using the following form? $("#list").list("publicMethod"); I would like to create a series of widgets that all define the same methods (basically implementing the same interface), and be able to call the method without knowing anything about which widget I currently am invoking the method on. In the current form, I need to know that I am executing the method on the "list" widget. Below is an example of creating a widget with the "public" method.     hi there. I'm trying to fill-out a form automatically and press a button on that form and wait for a response. How do I go about doing this? To be more particular, I have a a --HUGE-- collection DNA strains which I need to compare to each-other. Luckily, there's a website that does exactly what I need. Basically, I type-in 2 different sequences of DNA and click the "Align Sequences" button and get a result (the calculation of the score is not relevant). Is there a way to make a Java program that will automatically insert the input, "click" the button and read the response from this website? Thanks!

I want to partition the hard drive to create a drive for data and personal files in case I ever have to install again. I have been struggling all afternoon to make a gparted live USB.   • Unable to center text in IE but works in firefox

    Can somebody point out where I'm going wrong with the following code. Text inside td elements need to be centered except for Summary and Experience. This only appears to work in Firefox/chrome. In IE8 all td text are displayed as left-justified. No matter what I try it doesn't center it. Any particular reason why this would happen?   • Django forms: where is POST data received?

    I have a widget that allows user to enter data for a model field. The data in the form can't be directly converted to Python - it requires some coercion. Where do I put this code? Is the widget responsible for translating its post data to a python value? The field itself? I thought that maybe value_from_datadict() would be correct, but now it looks like that serves a different purpose. (I'm using the form in the admin interface, if it makes any difference.)

  • Javascript click function for multiple Classes

    So basically I have this little social networking site which allow comments. I've built a comment section that will slide down once a user clicks "Comment" and it slides down under the users status. My problem is that right now, the JavaScript only works on ONE post ID, and not the rest obviously seeing you can only use an ID once. But of course if I use classes instead, All the comment sections slide down because now they're all the same class. See below for my HTML and JavaScript.     I'm using custom tags to define sections in an application, so I have something like this: <mysection> <form> <input name="myfield"> </form> </mysection> I'm using the following and able to get the tag (printed to console, everything is groovy) var parent = document.getElementsByTagName('mysection'); The issue I'm having is finding the child field by name: var myfield = parent.getElementsByName("myfield"); ...as I don't want to pick up on any other 'sections' that might have an input with the name 'myfield'. EDIT: var parent = document.getElementsByTagName('mysection')[0]; was suggested and returns to console the section contents, however, getElementsByName throws an error: Uncaught TypeError: Object #<NodeList> has no method 'getElementsByName'

  • Unable to recieve file contents on server during upload

    Hello, I have a JSP page in which I have a file input field from which I browse a csv file and then upload it on server. I am using method = "POST" and ENCTYPE='multipart/form-data' in the form in which this file input field is present. On the servlet side(in the application's servlet) I am making use of apache's commom file upload API-ServletFileUpload API. After getting the FileItem list from the method parseRequest(request) of this API I am unable to get the file name and its content by using the methods getName(), getString() of FileItem API. Needed to know what am I doing wrong or any modifications in my approach that will make my application to work. Any pointers regarding this will be helpful. Thanks in advance!!

    Hi, I have this code: setMyCookie('name','value_1'); $('.myform').submit(); setMyCookie('name','value_2'); Problem: Webkit browsers seem to update 'MyCookie' with 'value_2' before the form gets submited, or in the exact moment it is being submited, so wrong cookie value is sent with it. I want to change cookie value to 'value_2' immediately after the form is submited so the cookie is ready for another request. The following code works fine, but I don't think using timeout() is the best solution.   • MVC or Extract Service Layer

    we have an application that is built with .Net MVC. We are now tasked with exposing API's to third parties. Members on our team want to just continue down our current path and just use more controllers so we can reuse the backend of our current application. Logic tells me we need to create a seperate service layer when more clients are going to be accessing it, but .Net MVC seems to take care of all of this. Is it really acceptable architecture to use controllers in a stand alone application to expose API's and what would be the potential gains of extracting the service layer out?
