  I am creating a ASP.NET MVC 3 application using Entity Framework 4. I am using the Repository/Service Pattern and was looking for feedback. • How can I determine whether or not to add project items using IWizard?

  Hi, I am generating entity wrappers in VS2010 based on dynamic objects in a CRM system. In addition to the entity code, I want to add an EntityBase of which all entities inherit from. If the file exists in the project from before, it should not be added. I am using an IWizard implementation to give the generator the object names etc. Is it possible in the IWizard implementation to determine whether or not to add an item if it exists in the project from before? How do I get a hold of the project handle and its items in or before the ShouldAddProjectItem method? • Labview + National Instruments hardware or ???

  I'm in the processes of buying a new data acquisition system for my company to use for various projects. At first, it's primary purpose will be to monitor up to 20 thermocouples and control the temperature of a composites oven. However, I also plan on using it to monitor accelerometers, strain gauges, and to act as a signal generator. I probably won't be the only one to use it, but I have a good bit of programming experience with Atmel microcontrollers (C). I've used Labview before, but ~5 years ago. Labview would be good because it is easy to pick up on for both me and my coworkers. On the flip side, it's expensive. Right now I have a NI CompactDAQ system with 2 voltage and one thermocouple cards + Labview speced out and it's going to cost $5779! I'm going to try to get the same I/O capabilities with different NI hardware for less $ + labview to see if I can get it for less $. I'd like to see if anyone has any suggestions other than Labview for me. Thanks in advance!

• object references an unsaved transient instance

  Hi, I have 2 tables, user and userprofile, both with almost identical fields. user table references userprofile table by primary key ID. My requirement is that on click of a button I need to dump user table record to userprofile table. Now for a particular user table, if there is a corresponding userprofile entry, I am successfully able to dump the data, but if there is no record in userprofile table then I need to create a new record by dumping all the data. My problem is that I am able to update the data when the record is present in userprofile table, but in the case wherein I have to create a new record I get the below error "object references an unsaved transient instance - save the transient instance before flushing". `<class name="User"> <id name="ID" type="Int32"> <generator class="native" /> </id> <many-to-one name="Pid" class="UserProfile" /> </class>` UserProfile is another table and Pid above references the Primary key ID of UserProfile table.

• NHibernate not dropping foreign key constraints.

  I'm new to NHibernate, so this is probably my mistake, but when I use: schema.Create(true, true); I get: SchemaExport [(null)]- There is already an object named 'XXX' in the database. System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: There is already an object named 'XXX' in the database. I grabbed the SQL code nHibernate was using, ran it directly from MSSMS, and recieved similar errors. Looking into it, the generated code is not properly dropping the foreign key constraints. The drop looks like this: if exists (select 1 from sysobjects where id = OBJECT_ID(N'dbo[FK22212EAFBFE4C58]') AND parent_obj = OBJECT_ID('YYY')) alter table dbo.YYY drop constraint FK22212EAFBFE4C58 Doing a "select OBJECT_ID(N'dbo[FK22212EAFBFE4C58]')" I get null. If I take out the "dbo" (i.e. "select OBJECT_ID(N'[FK22212EAFBFE4C58]')") then the ID is returned. • Loading a view routed by a URL parameter (e.g., /users/:id) in MEAN stack

  I am having difficulties with trying to load a user by their id, for some reason my http.get call isn't hitting my controller. I get the following error in the browser console: TypeError: undefined is not a function at new <anonymous> (http://localhost:9000/scripts/controllers/users.js:10:8) Update I've fixed my code up as per comments below, but now my code just enters an infinite loop in the angular users controllers (see code below). • Beginnerquestion: How to count amount of each number drawn in a Lottery and output it in a list?

  I am writing this little Lottery application. Now the plan is, to count how often each number has been drawn during each iteration of the Lottery, and store this somewhere. My guess is that I would need to use a HashMap, that has 6 keys and increments the value by one everytime the respective keys number is drawn. But how would I accomplish this? If i was 0, 0 * 4 equals 0. I assume this is correct thinking? Anyway the main question is, trying to generate the dates isn't working. When i created a fixture list for 4 users home and away, I got 12 fixtures. 10 of these had the same date on them, and the other 2 didnt have a date. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks

• Hibernate Relationship Mapping/Speed up batch inserts

  I have 5 MySQL InnoDB tables: Test,InputInvoice,InputLine,OutputInvoice,OutputLine and each is mapped and functioning in Hibernate. I have played with using StatelessSession/Session, and JDBC batch size. I have removed any generator classes to let MySQL handle the id generation- but it is still performing quite slow. Each of those tables is represented in a java class, and mapped in hibernate accordingly. Currently when it comes time to write the data out, I loop through the objects and do a session.save(Object) or session.insert(Object) if I'm using StatelessSession. I also do a flush and clear (when using Session) when my line count reaches the max jdbc batch size (50). Would it be faster if I had these in a 'parent' class that held the objects and did a session.save(master) instead of each one? If I had them in a master/container class, how would I map that in hibernate to reflect the relationship? The container class wouldn't actually be a table of it's own, but a relationship all based on two indexes run_id (int) and line (int). Another direction would be: How do I get Hibernate to do a multi-row insert?

• Change form submission (enter to tab)

  I have a real basic form (code below) with a bunch of back-panel PhP. There is a scanner being used to input the data, but instead of tab after each item, it sends an "enter" command. Is it viable to add javascript to cause enter to instead tab to the next form field, and upon the last form field, submit it instead? I have found a few scripts online, but none that I have tried have worked in Firefox/Chrome. • getting duplicate array output - java

  Hello, Can someone could be kind and help me out here. Thanks in advance... My code below outputs the string as duplicates. I don't want to use Sets or ArrayList. I am using java.util.Random. I am trying to write a code that checks if string has already been randomly outputted and if it does, then it won't display. • PXE-E32 TFTP Open Timeout While Attempting to PXE Boot from Windows Deployment Services

  I'm running Windows Deployment Services on Windows Server 2008 R2 on top of an ESX 4.0 box. This is the only function of this VM instance, although it had previously functioned as an AD Domain Controller. My DHCP server is running on our primary Domain Controller, which is also Server 2008 R2, but running on metal. Everything was working perfectly until we recently had our backup generator fail during a power outage, causing all of our servers and networking equipment to lose power for a period of time. When we brought all of our equipment back up, everything was working as expected except for WDS. Our network is split up into several different vlans. Now, depending on which vlan the client computer is on, it's behaving differently when attempting to PXE boot into WDS. Our servers are located on the 10.55.x.x vlan, which, due to the nature of it, has no DHCP server active in it. The first computer we plugged in happened to be in the 10.99.x.x vlan, which is supposed to be reserved for network management devices (i.e. switches), but we've been using it occasionally otherwise. That computer gave us PXE-E11 ARP Timeout errors. When we moved to a different computer on the 10.19.x.x vlan (for general purpose use), it finally gets an IP from DHCP, but it presents us with a very stumping PXE-E32 TFTP Open Timeout error. Before the power outage, it didn't matter which vlan a device was on; it would PXE boot and image just fine. I've made no changes to anything server-side. Everything is configured exactly the same way it was on my WDS and DHCP servers as before the power outage. I've tried several different computers, including different models. All of this, combined with the quirky behavior depending on the vlan, makes me think something went wrong in one or more of our switches, probably because of the power outage. Unfortunately, I'm no network guy, and I know very little about how to configure our switches properly. Is this an issue with switches, etc? If so, how can I fix it? Is there some magical option I'm not aware of? Does anybody out there have any hunches? I've pretty much exhausted my ideas. Our main switch is an HP Procurve 5406. We also have 3x HP Procurve 4208 switches. The ESX Server is an HP ProLiant DL380 G6. The WDS VM is currently using the VMXNET3 network adaptor, but we've also tried the E1000 adaptor.

  I am able to run lighttpd on ubuntu 9.10.   I just created a new app using angular-fullstack yeoman generator, edited it a bit to my liking, and ran it with grunt on my localhost, and immediately upon starting up I get this flood of requests to paths that I haven't even defined. Is this a hacking attempt? And if so, how does the hacker (human or bot) immediately know where my server is and when it came online? Note that I haven't made anything online, it's just a localhost setup and I'm merely connected to the internet. (Although my router does allow 80 port incoming.)   I just updated my app and I am getting some odd complaints from people who update it. I am only getting complaints from people with non-stock android phones (phones that manufacturers have modified...HTC phones, cliq, pulse, etc), other phones like the Droid, Nexus work fine. My app (Photo Frame Deluxe) has a list in it with a Image View, Text View, View (spacer) and checkbox, all in a row. What happens on the affected phones is that the rows start overlapping and it cuts the top half of everything off. My layout code for this is below, I am pulling my hair out on this, what might I have wrong in this layout. Why does this work on some phones and not on others? Any help would be appreciated. My layout consists of four sections, each of which are made up of a TextView, a Gallery, and another TextView aligned vertically: Running Apps Recent Apps Services Processes When all four sets of these items are displayed everything works fine. However, my app allows the user to specify that some of these are not displayed. If the user turns off Running Apps, Recent Apps, or Services then the remaining sections all of a sudden overlap eachother. Here is my code for the layout. I'm not sure what I am doing wrong. What can I do to make this work in Android 1.5? I don't think it is just a matter of reordering the views in the xml because it works fine when everything is displayed.
