  • JQuery: How to AutoComplete "City, State" ?

    Question: How can you use the JQuery Auto-Completion plugin to suggest a location ("City, State") for an input field? Meaning, someone wants to type in "Chicago, IL" ... so they begin typing "Chi" and it auto-suggestions "Chicago, IL". My biggest hurdles is finding a service that I can query to find out all US city+state names. I essentially want to do what the StackOverflow "Tags" input form works but form "City, State" auto completion.

    ( again ) I want to use the ZXing library in my project, I followed this tutorial http://damianflannery.wordpress.com/2011/06/13/integrate-zxing-barcode-scanner-into-your-android-app-natively-using-eclipse/ [ only difference I'm using netbeans ]after building zxing android project and marking it as a library, I wanted to od it as a library in my own project.     I'm using the grails navigation plugin and one of the things i want to do is have the menu item have a dynamic number in it for example static navigation = [ group:'tabs', order:7, title:'Mail', action:'index', subItems: [ [action:'pending', order:1, title:"Pending"], [action:'active', order:10, title:'Active'], [action:'completed', order:11, title:'Completed'] ] ] So i want to figure out a way to make the title Mail(3) or Mail(2) based on the amount of messages a user has. I know this will have to be set in the method or by a service of some sort i'm just not sure how to get it to update.

  • Loading css rules dynamically in Webkit (Safari/Chrome)

    Hi all, I currently have issues in Webkit(Safari and Chrome) were I try to load dynamically (innerHTML) some html into a div, the html contains css rules (...), after the html gets rendered the style definitions are not loaded (so visually I can tell the styles are not there and also if I search with javascript for them no styles are found). I have tried using a jquery plugin tocssRule(), it works but it is just too slow. Is there another way of getting webkit to load the styles dynamically? Thanks. Patrick

    I have a text area in which users can type source code (html/css/js). I want to be able to let them click a "switch to fullscreen" link to make the editor fullscreen. Of course, this should work on any resolution and must also resize when a users resizes it's window. I found this plugin, http://plugins.jquery.com/project/fulltextarea, but it's not resizing when the browser windows is resized. Any tips or plugins for this one?

    I have a table fill with cell items. If I click on a cell item, that cell item is 'linked' or related to other cell items, which need to be highlighted. If another cell item is clicked, that cell's related cells need to light up. Is there a jQuery plugin to accomplish something like this? Or would I have to look into writing one myself?

  • Android Emulator and adb problems

    I'm having a problem in that whenever I start a emulator, either manually through the command line, or when debugging from Eclipse, it is never recognized by adb, i.e. 'adb devices' will not list it. I have to manually kill and restart adb every time I want to recognize a new emulator. Surely, something is wrong here? (I'm on Vista 64-bit)

    I'm trying to build a simple spring web application but I get the following error when I run it on Apache Tomcat 6.0 Class Not Found Exception org.springframework.web.servlet.DispatcherServlet I'm using maven to handle libraries. At first I thought it was maven's fault but it adds spring and other libraries succesfully. I tried to import "org.springframework.web.servlet.DispatcherServlet" in a source file and my project has the right package and classes. My development environment : Ubuntu 10.4 Eclipse IDE Tomcat 6.0 I'd appreciate any help

  • Good policy to force all developers in a company to use the same IDE?

    In my organization they are thinking about rolling out Eclipse company wide but I prefer using another editor (UltraEdit). I do not have any good arguments against this except subjective opinions that a developer should get to use whatever he/she wants as long as he's productive enough. This to make the developer a happy employee :-) Do you guys think its a good policy to force all developers in the same company to use the same IDE? Would there be any technical (dis)advantages of this decision?
