  • LDAP Query with sub result

    - by StefanE
I have been banging my head for quite a while with this and can't get it to work. I have a LDAP Query I do have working in AD Users and Computers but dont know how to do it programatically in C#. Here are my LDAP Query that works fine in the AD Tool: (memberOf=CN=AccRght,OU=Groups,OU=P,OU=Server,DC=mydomain,DC=com)(objectCategory=user)(objectClass=user)(l=City) I have used this code to get the user accounts to get members of CN=AccRght but I'm not succeeding on limiting users belonging to a specific city. public StringCollection GetGroupMembers(string strDomain, string strGroup) { StringCollection groupMemebers = new StringCollection(); try { DirectoryEntry ent = new DirectoryEntry("LDAP://DC=" + strDomain + ",DC=com"); DirectorySearcher srch = new DirectorySearcher("(CN=" + strGroup + ")"); SearchResultCollection coll = srch.FindAll(); foreach (SearchResult rs in coll) { ResultPropertyCollection resultPropColl = rs.Properties; foreach( Object memberColl in resultPropColl["member"]) { DirectoryEntry gpMemberEntry = new DirectoryEntry("LDAP://" + memberColl); System.DirectoryServices.PropertyCollection userProps = gpMemberEntry.Properties; object obVal = userProps["sAMAccountName"].Value; if (null != obVal) { groupMemebers.Add(obVal.ToString()); } } } } catch (Exception ex) { Console.Write(ex.Message); } return groupMemebers; } Thanks for any help!

  • Loading a javascript library in javax.script?

    - by Shane
I want to run Protovis javascript from Java and get the evaluated SVG code. I am using javax.script.* to run the Javascript: public static void EvalScript() throws Exception { ScriptEngineManager factory = new ScriptEngineManager(); ScriptEngine engine = factory.getEngineByName("JavaScript"); Object result = engine.eval("var vis = new pv.Panel().width(300).height(300) .add (pv.Line).data ([1,0.5, 0.1, 0.01, 0.001, 0.3, 0.2,0.1,1]) .left (function () { return this.index * 30; }) .bottom (function (d) { return d * 250; }); vis.root.render(); vis.scene[0].canvas.innerHTML;"); System.out.println(result); } This would complain because I never loaded Protovis itself, as would ordinarily be done with <script type="text/javascript" src="../protovis-r3.1.0.js"></script> Is there a good way, short of sourcing in the full Javascript into the eval() command, of loading a library when running Javascript through javax.script? (Incidentally, I know of examples that use Rhino to do this from the Google discussion group.)

  • Java Runtime command line Process

    - by AEIOU
I have a class with the following code: Process process = null; try { process = Runtime.getRuntime().exec("gs -version"); System.out.println(process.toString()); } catch (Exception e1) { e1.printStackTrace(); } finally { process.destroy(); } I can run "gs -version" on my command line and get: GPL Ghostscript 8.71 (2010-02-10) Copyright (C) 2010 Artifex Software, Inc. All rights reserved. So I know I have the path at least set somewhere. I can run that class from command line and it works. But when I run it using eclipse I get the following error: java.io.IOException: Cannot run program "gs": error=2, No such file or directory at java.lang.ProcessBuilder.start(ProcessBuilder.java:459) at java.lang.Runtime.exec(Runtime.java:593) at java.lang.Runtime.exec(Runtime.java:431) at java.lang.Runtime.exec(Runtime.java:328) at clris.batchdownloader.TestJDBC.main(TestJDBC.java:17) Caused by: java.io.IOException: error=2, No such file or directory at java.lang.UNIXProcess.forkAndExec(Native Method) at java.lang.UNIXProcess.(UNIXProcess.java:53) at java.lang.ProcessImpl.start(ProcessImpl.java:91) at java.lang.ProcessBuilder.start(ProcessBuilder.java:452) ... 4 more In my program, i can replace "gs" with: "java", "mvn", "svn" and it works. But "gs" does not. It's only in eclipse I have this problem. Any ideas, on what I need to do to resolve this issue?

  • Updating Database from DataSet

    - by clawson
I am having trouble updating my Database from my code using a DataSet. I'm using SQL Server 2008 and Visual Studio 2008. Here is what I've done so far. I have created a table in SQL Server called MyTable which has two columns: id nchar(10), and name nchar(50). I have then created a datasource in my VB.net project that consists of this table using the dataset wizard and called this dataset MyDataSet. I run the following code on a button click: Try Dim myDataSet As New MyDataSet Dim newRow As MyDataSet.MyTableRow = myDataSet.MyTable.NewMyTableRow newRow.id = "1" newRow.name = "Alpha" myDataSet.MyTable.AddMyTableRow(newRow) myDataSet.AcceptChanges() Catch ex As Exception MsgBox(ex.Message) End Try when I run this and check the rows in SQL Server it returns 0 rows What have I missed? How can I add these rows / save changes in a dataset to the database? I have seen other examples that use a TableAdapter but I don't think I want to do this, I think I should be able to achieve this just using a DataSet. Am I mistaken? Help is greatly appreciated!

  • Accessing deleted rows from a DataTable

    - by Ken
Hello: I have a parent WinForm that has a MyDataTable _dt as a member. The MyDataTable type was created in the "typed dataset" designer tool in Visual Studio 2005 (MyDataTable inherits from DataTable) _dt gets populated from a db via ADO.NET. Based on changes from user interaction in the form, I delete a row from the table like so: _dt.FindBySomeKey(_someKey).Delete(); Later on, _dt is passed by value to a dialog form. From there, I need to scan through all the rows to build a string: foreach (myDataTableRow row in _dt) { sbFilter.Append("'" + row.info + "',"); } The problem is that upon doing this after a delete, the following exception is thrown: DeletedRowInaccessibleException: Deleted row information cannot be accessed through the row. The work around that I am currently using (which feels like a hack) is the following: foreach (myDataTableRow row in _dt) { if (row.RowState != DataRowState.Deleted && row.RowState != DataRowState.Detached) { sbFilter.Append("'" + row.info + "',"); } } My question: Is this the proper way to do this? Why would the foreach loop access rows that have been tagged via the Delete() method??

  • Using a Scala symbol literal results in NoSuchMethod

    - by Benson
I have recently begun using Scala. I've written a DSL in it which can be used to describe a processing pipeline in medici. In my DSL, I've made use of symbols to signify an anchor, which can be used to put a fork (or a tee, if you prefer) in the pipeline. Here's a small sample program that runs correctly: object Test extends PipelineBuilder { connector("TCP") / Map("tcpProtocol" -> new DirectProtocol()) "tcp://localhost:4858" --> "ByteToStringProcessor" --> Symbol("hello") "stdio://in?promptMessage=enter name:%20" --> Symbol("hello") Symbol("hello") --> "SayHello" / Map("prefix" -> "\n\t") --> "stdio://out" } For some reason, when I use a symbol literal in my program, I get a NoSuchMethod exception at runtime: java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: scala.Symbol.intern()Lscala/Symbol; at gov.pnnl.mif.scaladsl.Test$.<init>(Test.scala:7) at gov.pnnl.mif.scaladsl.Test$.<clinit>(Test.scala) at gov.pnnl.mif.scaladsl.Test.main(Test.scala) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(NativeMethodAccessorImpl.java:39) at sun.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.java:25) at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:597) at scala.tools.nsc.ObjectRunner$$anonfun$run$1.apply(ObjectRunner.scala:75) at scala.tools.nsc.ObjectRunner$.withContextClassLoader(ObjectRunner.scala:49) at scala.tools.nsc.ObjectRunner$.run(ObjectRunner.scala:74) at scala.tools.nsc.MainGenericRunner$.main(MainGenericRunner.scala:154) at scala.tools.nsc.MainGenericRunner.main(MainGenericRunner.scala) This happens regardless of how the symbol is used. Specifically, I've tried using the symbol in the pipeline, and in a simple println('foo) statement. The question: What could possibly cause a symbol literal's mere existence to cause a NoSuchMethodError? In my DSL I am using an implicit function which converts symbols to instances of the Anchor class, like so: implicit def makeAnchor(a: Symbol):Anchor = anchor(a) Sadly, my understanding of Scala is weak enough that I can't think of why that might be causing my NoSuchMethodError.

  • MSCRM 4 Convert Standard enitity to Custom entity using InitializeFromRequest

    - by user363727
Hi there, I'm trying to convert an order and orderdetail lines to a custom entity and its child lines using InitializeFromRequest using the code below: public void Convert(Guid FromEntityId, string FromEntityName, string ToEntityName) { try { // Set up the CRM Service. CrmService _service = GetCrmService(); InitializeFromRequest req = new InitializeFromRequest(); req.EntityMoniker = new Moniker(); // this is the very thing that does the job. req.EntityMoniker.Id = FromEntityId; req.EntityMoniker.Name = FromEntityName; req.TargetEntityName = ToEntityName; //contact for our example req. req.TargetFieldType = TargetFieldType.ValidForCreate; InitializeFromResponse rps = (InitializeFromResponse)_service.Execute(req); //now the lead is converted to a contact, and you can see it in contacts. Guid entityId = _service.Create(rps.Entity); lblMsg.Text = "Done ID:" + entityId.ToString(); } catch (System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException se) { lblMsg.Text = "soap:" + se.Detail.InnerText; } catch (Exception ex) { lblMsg.Text = ex.Message; } } Now i am able to get a custom entity created but all the attributes are empty despite me setting the mapping fields in the realtionship. Any ideas on what i am missing or doing wrong? Thanks in advance Andrew

  • Titanium Appcelerator - After enabling cloud services I get UnicodeDecodeError when compiling for Android

    - by Shahar Zrihen
I've got an app that has a UTF8 name (hebrew). I use the platform/android/AndroidManifest.xml file for this. I've managed to narrow it down to the Ti.cloudpush module. only when I enable this module I get the error. I used to be able to compile it to android without any issues but as soon as I enable cloud services I get this error - [ERROR] Exception occured while building Android project: [ERROR] Traceback (most recent call last): [ERROR] File "/Users/Shahar/Library/Application Support/Titanium/mobilesdk/osx/2.1.0.GA/android/builder.py", line 2218, in <module> [ERROR] s.build_and_run(True, None, key, password, alias, output_dir) [ERROR] File "/Users/Shahar/Library/Application Support/Titanium/mobilesdk/osx/2.1.0.GA/android/builder.py", line 1970, in build_and_run [ERROR] self.manifest_changed = self.generate_android_manifest(compiler) [ERROR] File "/Users/Shahar/Library/Application Support/Titanium/mobilesdk/osx/2.1.0.GA/android/builder.py", line 1195, in generate_android_manifest [ERROR] custom_manifest_contents = fill_manifest(custom_manifest_contents) [ERROR] File "/Users/Shahar/Library/Application Support/Titanium/mobilesdk/osx/2.1.0.GA/android/builder.py", line 1122, in fill_manifest [ERROR] manifest_source = manifest_source.replace(ti_permissions,permissions_required_xml) [ERROR] UnicodeDecodeError: 'ascii' codec can't decode byte 0xd7 in position 501: ordinal not in range(128) and this is my manifest file with the part that causes the issues. • Java Error beeping

    - by user1281385
Im working on a Chat client that i didnt write the bulk of the code for. It works fine however when someone sends a message it beeps (system error beep) when using Java 7. Java 6 and below doesn't have this beep. I cant seem to find whats causing the beep is there any way to find it ? I dont think its calling beep as i have public class nobeep extends sun.awt.windows.WToolkit { @Override public void beep() { System.out.println("tried to beep"); new Exception().printStackTrace(); } } and then called System.setProperty("awt.toolkit", "nobeep"); in the main method. Using the method to send a beep doesnt make it beep. Its only when sent normally. Is there a quick way to track down the cause of the beep ? Edit: After looking in the bugs database - its confirmed. http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=7194469 I know it says no work around but is there one (java not c++) or just wait until update 8 ?

  • Bitrate Switching in xml playlist not loading video

Using JW Player ver 5.4 and JW Embedder. Plugins are grid by Dabbler and fbit (Facebook). The Bitrate switching is not working. Does work fine for one video with HTML5 Video tag. When more than one video, it only shows the first video pic. Works fine with no bitrate switching. Div tag just shows a blank video area and a Null exception on Line 1 char 1863, this is probably the jwplayer.js file. XML is larger than this, this is to give you a brief syntax of my code and xml. I have searched for over 6 hrs on both longtail and search engine searches. Thank you in advance.

  • How to ask BeanUtils to ignore null values

    - by Calm Storm
Using Commons beanUtils I would like to know how to ask any converter say the Dateconverter to ignore null values and use null as default. As an example consider a public class, public class X { private Date date1; private String string1; //add public getters and setters } and my convertertest as, public class Apache { @Test public void testSimple() throws Exception { X x1 = new X(), x2 = new X(); x1.setString1("X"); x1.setDate1(null); org.apache.commons.beanutils.BeanUtils.copyProperties(x2, x1); //throws ConversionException System.out.println(x2.getString1()); System.out.println(x2.getDate1()); } } The above throws a NPE since the date happens to be null. This looks a very primitive scenario to me which should be handled by default (as in, I would expect x2 to have null value for date1). The doco tells me that I can ask the converter to do this. Can someone point me as to the best way for doing this ? I dont want to get hold of the Converter and isUseDefault() to be true because then I have to do it for all Date, Enum and many other converters !

  • struts2: Redirect from global interceptor

    - by Dewfy
In struts2 I have very simple task, after user is logged-in I'm checking if they profile is complete. If not user should be blocked from any other action and redirected to edit page. So I have created my default package: <package name="main" extends="tiles-default" > <interceptors> <interceptor name="checkProfile" class="my.CheckProfileInterceptor" /> <interceptor-stack name="secure"> <interceptor-ref name="defaultStack"/> <interceptor-ref name="checkProfile"/> </interceptor-stack> </interceptors> <default-interceptor-ref name="secure"/> </package> After it all my packages would include this template as a base: <package namespace="/packageA" name="packageA" extends="main"> ... <package namespace="/packageB" name="packageB" extends="main"> ... Saying editing page is /packageA/editProfile, my interceptor does following: public String intercept(ActionInvocation actionInvocation) throws Exception { if( currentUser.isOk() ) return "editProfile"; ... BUT! interceptor is global, so it raises struts2 error: No result defined for action (name of editProfile action class) When interceptor is placed inside some package - then everything ok. What should i do to declare global action?

  • Load Images in WPF application

    - by LLS
I am not familiar with WPF, and I just feel quite confusing. I am trying to create a little computer game, and there are elements I want to display dynamically. I use Image class and add the images to a canvas. But I'm not sure whether it's a good practice. I feel that adding controls to canvas seem to be a little wired. And I'm a little concerned about the performance, because I may need many images. The real problem is, I can't load the images from the image files. I see an example in a text book like this (XMAL): <Image Panel.ZIndex="0" Margin="0,0,0,0" Name ="image1"> <Image.Source> <BitmapImage UriSource="Bell.gif" /> </Image.Source> </Image> Where Bell.gif is added into the project. And I tried to copy this in code to create an image. new Image { Source = new BitmapImage(new Uri("Blockade.bmp"))} But I got invalid Uri exception. After some search in the Internet, I found that loading resources dynamically seems to be difficult. Can I load the files added to the project dynamically? If I use absolute path then it's OK. But I can't expect every computer will put the files in the same location. Can I use relative path? I tried new Image { Source = new BitmapImage(new Uri(@"Pictures\Blank Land.bmp", UriKind.Relative)) } But it doesn't work. (The image is blank) Thanks.

  • Wrappers/law of demeter seems to be an anti-pattern...

    - by Robert Fraser
I've been reading up on this "Law of Demeter" thing, and it (and pure "wrapper" classes in general) seem to generally be anti patterns. Consider an implementation class: class Foo { void doSomething() { /* whatever */ } } Now consider two different implementations of another class: class Bar1 { private static Foo _foo = new Foo(); public static Foo getFoo() { return _foo; } } class Bar2 { private static Foo _foo = new Foo(); public static void doSomething() { _foo.doSomething(); } } And the ways to call said methods: callingMethod() { Bar1.getFoo().doSomething(); // Version 1 Bar2.doSomething(); // Version 2 } At first blush, version 1 seems a bit simpler, and follows the "rule of Demeter", hide Foo's implementation, etc, etc. But this ties any changes in Foo to Bar. For example, if a parameter is added to doSomething, then we have: class Foo { void doSomething(int x) { /* whatever */ } } class Bar1 { private static Foo _foo = new Foo(); public static Foo getFoo() { return _foo; } } class Bar2 { private static Foo _foo = new Foo(); public static void doSomething(int x) { _foo.doSomething(x); } } callingMethod() { Bar1.getFoo().doSomething(5); // Version 1 Bar2.doSomething(5); // Version 2 } In both versions, Foo and callingMethod need to be changed, but in Version 2, Bar also needs to be changed. Can someone explain the advantage of having a wrapper/facade (with the exception of adapters or wrapping an external API or exposing an internal one).

  • Write binary data as a response in an ASP.NET MVC web control

    - by Lou Franco
I am trying to get a control that I wrote for ASP.NET to work in an ASP.NET MVC environment. Normally, the control does the normal thing, and that works fine Sometimes it needs to respond by clearing the response, writing an image to the response stream and changing the content type. When you do this, you get an exception "OutputStream is not available when a custom TextWriter is used". If I were a page or controller, I see how I can create custom responses with binary data, but I can't see how to do this from inside a control's render functions. To simplify it -- imagine I want to make a web control that renders to: <img src="pageThatControlIsOn?controlImage"> And I know how to look at incoming requests and recognize query strings that should be routed to the control. Now the control is supposed to respond with a generated image (content-type: image/png -- and the encoded image). In ASP.NET, we: Response.Clear(); Response.OutputStream.Write(thePngData); // this throws in MVC // set the content type, etc Response.End(); How am I supposed to do that in an ASP.NET MVC control?

  • InvalidCastException in DataGridView

    - by Max Yaffe
(Using VS 2010 Beta 2 - .Net 4.0 B2 Rel) I have a class, MyTable, derived from BindingList where S is a struct. S is made up of several other structs, for example: public class MyTable<S>:BindingList<S> where S: struct { ... } public struct MyStruct { public MyReal r1; public MyReal r2; public MyReal R1 {get{...} set{...}} public MyReal R2 {get{...} set{...}} ... } public struct MyReal { private Double d; private void InitFromString(string) {this.d = ...;} public MyReal(Double d) { this.d = d;} public MyReal(string val) { this.d = default(Double); InitFromString(val);} public override string ToString() { return this.real.ToString();} public static explicit operator MyReal(string s) { return new MyReal(s);} public static implicit operator String(MyReal r) { return r.ToString();} ... } OK, I use the MyTable as a binding source for a DataGridView. I can load the data grid easily using InitFromString on individual fields in MyStruct. The problem comes when I try to edit a value in a cell of the DataGridView. Going to the first row, first column, I change the value of the existing number. It gives an exception blizzard, the first line of which says: System.FormatException: Invalid cast from 'System.String' to 'MyReal' I've looked at the casting discussions and reference books but don't see any obvious problems. Any ideas?

  • Retrieving image from database using Ajax

    - by ama
I'm trying to read image from database with Ajax, but I could not read the xmlhttp.responseText to the img src. The image is saved as binary data in database and also retrieved as binary data. I'm using Ajax in JSP, because I want to give the user the ability to upload images and I will view the last uploaded image, on mouse over action the Ajax will be activated and get the image back, the problem is in reading the img from the response. This is the Ajax function: function ajaxFunction(path) { if (xmlhttp) { var s = path; xmlhttp.open("GET", s, true); xmlhttp.onreadystatechange = handleServerResponse; xmlhttp.send(null); } } function handleServerResponse() { if (xmlhttp.readyState == 4) { var Image = document.getElementById(Image_Element_Name); document.getElementById(Image_Element_Name).src = "data:" + xmlhttp.responseText; } } I also got exception in the server: 10415315 [TP-Processor1] WARN core.MsgContext - Error sending end packet java.net.SocketException: Broken pipe at java.net.SocketOutputStream.socketWrite0(Native Method) at java.net.SocketOutputStream.socketWrite(SocketOutputStream.java:92) at java.net.SocketOutputStream.write(SocketOutputStream.java:136) at org.apache.jk.common.ChannelSocket.send(ChannelSocket.java:537) at org.apache.jk.common.JkInputStream.endMessage(JkInputStream.java:127) at org.apache.jk.core.MsgContext.action(MsgContext.java:302) at org.apache.coyote.Response.action(Response.java:183) at org.apache.coyote.Response.finish(Response.java:305) at org.apache.catalina.connector.OutputBuffer.close(OutputBuffer.java:281) at org.apache.catalina.connector.Response.finishResponse(Response.java:478) at org.apache.catalina.connector.CoyoteAdapter.service(CoyoteAdapter.java:154) at org.apache.jk.server.JkCoyoteHandler.invoke(JkCoyoteHandler.java:200) at org.apache.jk.common.HandlerRequest.invoke(HandlerRequest.java:283) at org.apache.jk.common.ChannelSocket.invoke(ChannelSocket.java:773) at org.apache.jk.common.ChannelSocket.processConnection(ChannelSocket.java:703) at org.apache.jk.common.ChannelSocket$SocketConnection.runIt(ChannelSocket.java:895) at org.apache.tomcat.util.threads.ThreadPool$ControlRunnable.run(ThreadPool.java:685) at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:619) 10415316 [TP-Processor1] WARN common.ChannelSocket - processCallbacks status 2

I am using CruiseControl.net for continous integration. I've created a repository for my project using VisualSvn server (uses Windows Authentication). Both the servers are hosted in the same system (Os-Microsoft Windows Server 2003 sp2). When i force build the project using CruiseControl.net "Failed task(s): Svn: CheckForModifications" is shown as the message. When i checked the build report, it says as follows: BUILD EXCEPTION Error Message: ThoughtWorks.CruiseControl.Core.CruiseControlException: Source control operation failed: svn: OPTIONS of 'https://sp-ci.sbsnetwork.local:8443/svn/IntranetPortal/Source': **Server certificate verification failed: issuer is not trusted** (https://sp-ci.sbsnetwork.local:8443). • Proper DateTime Format for a Web Service

    - by user48408
I have a webservice with a method which is called via a xmlhttprequest object in my javascript. The method accepts a datetime parameter which is subsequently converted to a string and run against the database to perform a calculation. I get the value from m_txtDateAdd and send off the xmlHttprequest <asp:textbox id=m_txtDateAdd tabIndex=4 runat="server" Width="96px" Text="<%# Today %>"> </asp:textbox> which has a validator attacted to it <asp:CustomValidator id="m_DateAddValidator" runat="server" ErrorMessage="Please Enter a Valid Date" ControlToValidate="m_txtDateAdd">&#x25CF;</asp:CustomValidator> My webmethod looks something like this [WebMethod] public decimal GetTotalCost(DateTime transactionDate) { String sqlDateString = transactionDate.Year+"/"+transactionDate.Month+"/"+transactionDate.Day; I use sqlDateString as part of the commandtext i send off to the database. Its a legacy application and its inline sql so I don't have the freedom to set up a stored procedure and create and assign parameters in my code behind. This works 90% of the time. The webservice is called on the onchange event of m_txtDateAdd. Every now and again the response i get from the server is System.ArgumentException: Cannot convert 25/06/2009 to System.DateTime. • How to select and crop an image in android?

    - by Guy
Hey, I am currently working on a live wallpaper and I allow the user to select an image which will go behind my effects. Currently I have: Intent i = new Intent(Intent.ACTION_PICK, android.provider.MediaStore.Images.Media.EXTERNAL_CONTENT_URI); i.putExtra("crop", "true"); startActivityForResult(i, 1); And slightly under that: @Override public void onActivityResult(int requestCode, int resultCode, Intent data) { super.onActivityResult(requestCode, resultCode, data); if (requestCode == 1) if (resultCode == Activity.RESULT_OK) { Uri selectedImage = data.getData(); Log.d("IMAGE SEL", "" + selectedImage); // TODO Do something with the select image URI SharedPreferences customSharedPreference = getSharedPreferences("imagePref", Activity.MODE_PRIVATE); SharedPreferences.Editor editor = customSharedPreference.edit(); Log.d("HO", "" + selectedImage); editor.putString("imagePref", getRealPathFromURI(selectedImage)); Log.d("IMAGE SEL", getRealPathFromURI(selectedImage)); editor.commit(); } } When my code is ran, Logcat tells me that selectedImage is null. If I comment out the i.putExtra("crop", "true"): Logcat does not give me the null pointer exception, and I am able to do what I want with the image. So, what is the problem here? Does any one have any idea how I can fix this? Thanks, for your time.

  • How to test a DAO with JPA implementation ?

    - by smallufo
Hi I came from the Spring camp , I don't want to use Spring , and am migrating to JavaEE6 , But I have problem testing DAO + JPA , here is my simplified sample : public interface PersonDao { public Person get(long id); } This is a very basic DAO , because I came from Spring , I believe DAO still have it value , so I decided to add a DAO layer . public class PersonDaoImpl implements PersonDao , Serializable { @PersistenceContext(unitName = "test", type = PersistenceContextType.EXTENDED) EntityManager entityManager ; public PersonDaoImpl() { } @Override public Person get(long id) { return entityManager .find(Person.class , id); } } This is a JPA-implemented DAO , I hope the EE container or the test container able to inject the EntityManager. public class PersonDaoImplTest extends TestCase { @Inject protected PersonDao personDao; @Override protected void setUp() throws Exception { //personDao = new PersonDaoImpl(); } public void testGet() { System.out.println("personDao = " + personDao); // NULL ! Person p = personDao.get(1L); System.out.println("p = " + p); } } This is my test file . OK , here comes the problem : Because JUnit doesn't understand @javax.inject.Inject , the PersonDao will not be able to injected , the test will fail. How do I find a test framework that able to inject the EntityManager to the PersonDaoImpl , and @Inject the PersonDaoImpl to the PersonDao of TestCase ? I tried unitils.org , but cannot find a sample like this , it just directly inject the EntityManagerFactory to the TestCast , not what I want ...
