  • In jquery Set a delay to fade out or fadeout right away on click

    - by JClu
    I am trying to right a script for a notification popup. I wan't the popup to fade out after X seconds or fadeout when the user clicks on the message. I can get both effects to work individually but when I try to combine them fadeOut works. This is my code so far: function notify(data, type) { switch(type) { case "success": $('#notify').html(data) .removeAttr("style") .addClass('notifySuccess') .click(function() { $("#notify").fadeOut(); }) .delay(5000).fadeOut(); break; case "error": $('#notify').html(data) .removeAttr("style") .addClass('notifyFailure') .click(function() { $("#notify").fadeOut(); }) .delay(5000).fadeOut(); break; } }

  • Class Members Over Exports

    - by VirusEcks
    When Using DLLs or Code-injecting to be Specific this is an example class only intended for explaining class test { int newint1; char newchararray[512]; void (*newfunction1)( int newarg1 ); int newfunction2( bool newarg1, char newarg2 ) { return newint1; } } mynewclass1; that covers most common elements that's included in classes now when exporting this function to another DLL or application and missed an element of those, either data member or function member, private or public what happens or changed their order ? and if each function is assigned it's value when Code-Injecting like mynewclass1.newfunction1 = (void *)(newexportedfunction); what's the happens in this case, if members of the class are pointers that are assigned after class construction and then missed one member or changed their order ?

It must be something simple i am overlooking. var message; $(document).ready(function(){ fbFetchMessage(); alert(message); }); function fbFetchMessage(){ var url = "http://graph.facebook.com/companyname/feed?callback=?"; $.getJSON(url,function(json){ message = json.data[0].message; }); }

  • pointers in C with a #define

    - by milan
    The function: #define ASSOC(port) (*(volatile bit_field *) (&port)) The function call: #define SCLK ASSOC(PORTC).bit0 bit_field defined as a struct like this: typedef struct { unsigned char bit0 :1, bit1 :1, bit2 :1, bit3 :1, bit4 :1, bit5 :1, bit6 :1, bit7 :1; } bit_field; I don't know where &port is defined. Can someone please explain how the function is read and how it works please? I am not very good with pointers and this example in particular is very confusing with "*" in the front and at the end and the "&" with the port. Thank you

  • Is there any injection vunerability in the body of an email?

    - by Brett
    Hey guys..... AFAIK there is only a vulnerability within the HEADERS of an email when using user data correct? I am using the below function to sanitize my data, however I have some textarea fields on the page & hence these may contain linebreaks.. so was wondering if that user data is only going to be put in the body of the email, can it not bother with being sanitized - apart from stripping html of course? Here is the function: function is_injected($str) { $injections = array('(\n+)', '(\r+)', '(\t+)', '(%0A+)', '(%0D+)', '(%08+)', '(%09+)' ); $inject = join('|', $injections); $inject = "/$inject/i"; if (preg_match($inject,$str)) { return true; } else { return false; } } As a side note, surprised there wasn't currently a tag for mail-injection / email-injection. Thanks!

  • wxPython formatting questions

    - by Kevin
    I have an app I was working on to learn more about wxPython( I have been primarily been a scripter ). I forgot about it now I am opening it back up. It's a screen scraper, and I have it working almost the way I want it, going to build a regex parser to strip out the links in every scrape that I don't need. The questions I have are this. In it current state, if I check more than one site, it goes out and scrapes, and returns it in separate windows, the for:each section in the Clicked function. I want to put them in a frame, in the window, altogether. I also want to know if I can take the list they are read into and send it to a checklist, so someone could check off separate items, I want to build a save function and keep certain ones. In regards to a save function, I want to keep saved checks, are there calls to the widgets to save their states? I know it's a lot, but thanks for the help.

  • jQuery DIV click, with anchors

    - by ANaimi
    To make click-able divs, I do: <div class="clickable" url="http://google.com"> blah blah </div> and then $("div.clickable").click( function() { window.location = $(this).attr("url"); }); I don't know if this is the best way, but it works perfectly with me, except for one issue: If the div contains a click-able element, such as <a href="...">, and the user clicks on the hyperlink, both the hyperlink and div's-clickable are called This is especially a problem when the anchor tag is referring to a javascript AJAX function, which executes the AJAX function AND follows the link in the 'url' attribute of the div. Anyway around this?

  • How to execute unknown functions from dynamic load libraries?

    - by activenightly
    It's easy to load functions from dynamic libraries when you know this function in design time. just do something like this: int (*fn)(int); l0 = dlopen("./libfoo.so", RTLD_LAZY); if (!l0) { fprintf(stderr, "l0 %s\n", dlerror()); return 1; } fn = (int (*)(int))dlsym(l0, "foo"); if ((error = dlerror()) != NULL) { fprintf(stderr, "fn:%s\n", error); return 1; } x=(*fn)(y); ... How to execute library function when it's unknown in design time? In runtime you have a function name and array of arguments pointers and array of arguments sizes: char* fn_name="foo"; int foo_argc; void* foo_argv[]; int foo_argv_size[]; In scripting language it's a piece a cake task, but how to implement this nicely in c++?

All the forms are in a div. a sample of my dialog looks like this: $("#dialog-form").dialog({ autoOpen: false, height: 460, width: 750, modal: true, buttons: { 'Create Map': function() { document.registerFrm.submit(); }, Cancel: function() { $(this).dialog('close'); } }, close: function() { allFields.val('').removeClass('ui-state-error'); } }); Any way to resolve, I don't want the form fields to be visible on load/creation of the page.

  • using jQuery .live with .bind

    - by Aninemity
    okay, I understand the basics of jQuery, and I know that in some instances I've had to use .live('click',function(){...}); instead of .click(function(){...}); to get the method to fire correctly. the method I'm currently looking at is: $('#title').bind('keyup', function(){...}); This works great, except because it's in a bit of code that isn't called until another action is preformed, I'd need to use .live() as described above. Problem is, I don't know how to format this one to work using the .live() method instead of .bind() as shown above. Can someone please help? Thanks in advance!

  • Better alternatives to know whether a control is valid in javascript?

    - by Anthony
    I want to know whether a control is valid or not in javascript. Is there a direct client side API available in Asp.Net which can tell me whether a control is valid or not? Eg. If I have 2 validators attached to a textbox, I need a function that can tell me whether the textbox is valid or not. If even 1 validator is not valid then it should return false. I can't seem to find a function that can give me this. Here is a little helper that I wrote which does the job but is inefficient: function isControlValid(control) { for (i = 0; i < Page_Validators.length; i++) { var validator = Page_Validators[i]; var controlId = validator.controltovalidate; if ($(control).attr('id') == controlId && validator.isvalid == false) { return false; } } return true; } Anybody has any better alternatives?

  • Does remove a DOM object (in Javascript) will cause Memory leak if it has event attached?

    - by seatoskyhk
    So, if in the javascript, I create a DOM object in the HTML page, and attach event listener to the DOM object, upon I remove the the DOM from HTML page, does the event listener still exist and causing memory leak? function myTest() { var obj = document.createElement('div'); obj.addEventListener('click', function() {alert('whatever'); }); var body = document.getElementById('body'); // assume there is a <div id='body'></div> already body.appendChild(obj); } // then after some user actions. I call this: function emptyPage() { var body = document.getElementById('body'); body.innerHTML = ''; //empty it. } So, the DOM object, <div> inside body is gone. But what about the eventlistener? I'm just afraid that it will cause memory leak.

  • Javascript Autocomplete Text

    - by WPS
    Hi All, I need to implement an autocomplete text field using JavaScript and JSF. When the user types some character in a text field, I need to make an AJAX request and get the values based on the values entered. I've an input text field, on "keyup" I'm triggering a function which submits the value to the server side. var timeoutid = 0; function intitiateTypeAhead(){ clearTimeout(timeoutid); if (document.getElementById("inputText").value.length >= 2) { timeoutid = setTimeout('clickButton', 500); } return false; } function clickButton(){ //submits the value to the server } <h:inputText id="inputText" onkeyup="intitiateTypeAhead()"></h:inputText> This works properly, but certain times the request is made for each character entered by the user. I'm not sure if there is anything wrong with the implementation. Can someone please help me to fix this?

  • jQuery - How do I make the menu fadeout when the user clicks anywhere else in the document besides the menu itself?

    - by GirlGoneMad
    Hi, I have a link that functions similar to a drop down menu in that it fades in a list of links below it when clicked. Currently, the list fades back out when the link is clicked again, but I'd like for it to also fade out if the user clicks elsewhere on the page. I'm not sure how to add the $(document).click(function()... that handles this, or if this is even the right approach. Here is my code: $('#show_button').click( function(){ if(!$('#list').is(':visible')){ var pos = $('#show_button').offset(); $('#list').css({'left':pos.left - 11, 'top': pos.top+14}).fadeIn(); } else{ $('#list').fadeOut(); } }); I am trying to add something like this to make the list fade out when the user clicks anywhere else in the page: if($('#list').is(':visible')){ $(document).click(function() { $('#list').fadeOut(); }); } Thanks in advance - I would appreciate any help on this one :)

  • jQuery .get()/.post() doesn't send an updated cookie

    - by Markus
    Hello, I'am doing something like this: function setCookie(name, value, expire) { var exdate = new Date(); exdate.setDate(exdate.getDate()+expire); document.cookie=name+ "=" +escape(value)+((expire==null) ? "" : ";expires="+exdate.toGMTString()); } // When I click a button // Update the cookie setCookie("test", "1"); function getContent() { // Get the data of our new URL $.get("index.php", loadContent); } function loadContent(data) { // alert the new title // the PHP script is changing title after what cookie-value you have alert($("title", data).text()) } First of all, when Iam alerting it is still the last showing up. So I guess it doesn't send the changed cookies at all.. And for some reason I don't see the request in my Live HTTP Headers window... But also, if i request the URL(without the ajax) it works just fine What am I doing wrong here? Regards Markus

  • Paging with jQuery

    - by zurna
    I get data from another page using jQuery get method. But I have a small problem. Sometimes, data that I take from another page is too long so it's divided into pages. When the user clicks on 1, 2, 3, ... links he/she is redirected to the other page. However, I want data to be reloaded on the same page. Edit $('ul.thumbs li.pagination a').live('click', function() { var pageNumber = parseInt($(this).text().replace(/[^0-9]/g, '')); $.ajax({ type: "GET", url: "images.cs.asp?Process=ViewImages&PAGEID=<%=Request.QueryString("PAGEID")%>", success: function(data) { $("#ViewImages").html(data); }, error: function (XMLHttpRequest, textStatus, errorThrown) { $("#ViewImages").html('.'); } }); return false; });

  • C - memset segfault for statically allocated char array

    - by user1327031
    I get a segfault when trying to memset an array of chars that was allocated statically, but not for an array of the same length that was allocated using malloc. variable definitions: //static char inBuff[IN_BUFF_LEN]; //dynamic char * inBuffD; function call: //static, cast used because char** != char (*) [n] serverInit(portNum, (char**) &inBuff, &serv_addr, &sockfd) //dynamic serverInit(portNum, &inBuffD, &serv_addr, &sockfd) use within the function: memset(*inBuffAdr, 0, IN_BUFF_LEN); I suspect that my problem is in the difference of the function calls, or to be more precise, my incomplete understanding of the "char** != char (*) [n]" situation. But I have been banging at this for too long and can't see the forest from the trees so any hints and advice would be very appreciated.

  • running code when two events have triggered

    - by Evert
    This is mostly a language-agnostic question. If I'm waiting for two events to complete (say, two IO events or http requests), what is the best pattern to deal with this. One thing I can think of is the following (pseudo js example). request1.onComplete = function() { req1Completed = true; eventsCompleted(); } request2.onComplete = function() { req2Completed = true; eventsCompleted(); } eventsCompleted = function() { if (!req1Completed || !req2Completed) return; // do stuff } Is this the most effective pattern, or are there more elegant ways to solve this issue?

  • jquery image swap works in one html file but not another

    - by Jon
    I have two header templates for my site. One for the blog section and one for everything else. The below code swaps an image in my nav menu, on hover. It works for one template but not the other. The html code is pretty much identical in both header templates. Please help me!! $(document).ready(function(){ $('.nav-home, .nav-port, .nav-exp, .nav-cont, .nav-blog').hover(function(){ $(this).attr('src','/images/' + $(this).attr('class') + '-hover.gif'); }, function(){ $(this).attr('src','/images/' + $(this).attr('class') + '.gif'); }); });

  • Actionscript / Flex: a question about handleAllEvents() method.

    - by Patrick
    Hi, in Adobe tutorials, they suggest to create a class to handle the events (see below the copy/pasted code, and link to page). I was wondering if I have to handle all events with the function handleAllEvents, using if statements to check if the target is the one I want, and the event is the one I want. i.e. if (event.type=="click") && (event.currentTarget == "myId") Should I have a list of ifs (for each target and each event type ?) thanks // events/MyStaticEventHandler.as package { // Empty package. import flash.events.Event; import mx.controls.Alert; public class MyStaticEventHandler { public function MyStaticEventHandler() { // Empty constructor. } public static function handleAllEvents(event:Event):void { Alert.show("Some event happened."); } } } Link (at the bottom): http://livedocs.adobe.com/flex/3/html/help.html?content=events_05.html

  • Flex Filterfunction - Filter by Array of values

    How to filter an Arraycollection by "array of values" rather than a single value (simple comparision) , the below code snippet is for filtering by single value now I went into scenario like filter out only price [10,4,1,8] (some random values from the master collection). Is there any better way to do the second code snippet Filter function simple comparision private function filterForTestData(item:Object):Boolean{ if(item.price < slider.value) return true; else return false; } Filter by array of values private function filterForTestData(item:Object,filterBy:Array= [10,4,1,8]):Boolean{ for(randomprice in filterBy) return item.price == randomprice; } [Edited] Apply Filter testData.filterFunction = filterForTestData;
