When inserting a row that should fail the test, the row is inserted anyway.     Hi I need to send an email from my app, which will be running under medium trust. My current email sending code that works fine under full trust throws SecurityException under medium trust [SecurityException: Request for the permission of type 'System.Net.Mail.SmtpPermission, System, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' failed.] Examining my machine.config and allied files reveal that my SMTP access is restricted to Connect. <SecurityClass Name="SmtpPermission" Description="System.Net.Mail.SmtpPermission, System, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089"/> and <IPermission class="SmtpPermission" version="1" Access="Connect"/> According to MSDN, Connect allows request on port 25 only. But Gmail servers work on port 587. Any workarounds? suggestions?

    Has anybody some information about accessing Lotus Domino server to fetch entire mail contents by http(s) requests from php linux server? The article by Andrei Kouvchinnikov describes well how to fetch message list in notes mail folders; after obtaining session id during login one can for example select top 100 messages by calling: https://your.server.domain/mail_db/mailbox.nsf/($Inbox)?ReadViewEntries&Start=1&Count=100 And this works perfectly. The problem arises when I am trying to get message contents (0A1DA5EEB7B65277C12576F50055D811 is an example message unique Id): https://your.server.domain/mail_db/mailbox.nsf/($Inbox)/0A1DA5EEB7B65277C12576F50055D811/?OpenDocument Such request in IE shows frameset with data hard to parse, in less common browsers like Opera it informs about unsupported browser. Ideally if it is possible to fetch notes message contents and all attachments by requesting it in the url, has anybody some information what request would it be? Link to Lotus web calls reference would be even more beneficial.

    I am trying to create a ListMenu using data from an SQLite database to define the name of each MenuItem. So in a class called menu.java I have defined the array String classes [] = {}; which should hold each menu item name. In a DBAdapter class I created a function so the user can insert info to a table (This all works fine btw). public long insertContact(String name, String code, String location, String comments, int days, int start, int end, String type) { ContentValues initialValues = new ContentValues(); initialValues.put(KEY_NAME, name); initialValues.put(KEY_CODE, code); initialValues.put(KEY_LOCATION, location); initialValues.put(KEY_COMMENTS, comments); initialValues.put(KEY_DAYS, days); initialValues.put(KEY_START, start); initialValues.put(KEY_END, end); initialValues.put(KEY_TYPE, type); return db.insert(DATABASE_TABLE, null, initialValues); } It would be the Strings inserted into KEY_NAME that I need to populate that String array with. Does anyone know if this is possible? Thanks so much for the help guys. If I implement that function by Sam/Mango the program crashes, am I using it incorrectly or is the error due to the unknown size of the array? DBAdapter db = new DBAdapter(this); String classes [] = db.getClasses(); edit: I should mention that if I manually define the array: String classes [] = {"test1", "test2", "test3", etc}; It works fine. The error is a NullPointerException Here's the logcat (sorry about the formatting).   • Operation timeout thrown using WebDav

    I build a desktop application in C# to send an email notification to a set of subscribed users. I am using Webdav to implement this function and using OWA (Outlook web access) and everything works fine till the 33 mail then 'Operation Timeout' exception is thrown. I can rerun my application to send emails to the remaining users but again after some emails again exception occurrs. Of course i could like to perform this operation in one run. I've tried adding some timeout value to my HttpWebRequest object and also put some Thread.Spleep value after sending each mail so that each http web request doesn't interfere with the following request. But now i am stuck with this timeout exception and no idea how to handle it. One idea would be that my logged in session in owa expired but i am loggin in each time a send a new email. Please can you provide me some help if you experienced with Web dav.

But trying to send the stream directly as an email attachment fails - just get an empty file attached to the email when I do System.Net.Mail.Attachment file = new System.Net.Mail.Attachment(stream, "MobileBill.xlsx", "application/vnd.ms-excel"); Anbody know how to do this?

    I have written a program in C# which connects to a POP Server and retrieves raw email message strings from the server using POP3 command RETR. Since the email message being retrieved by the program is in plain text format with all the headers and message body with in the same, its too difficult to extract each header and mail body from the raw string. Could anybody tell me a solution by which I can parse the entire raw text to a System.Net.Mail.MailMessage object?     Our process allows users to activate their account, and then configure e-mail preferences. We're using the tag: <a4j:commandButton id="activate" action="#{controller.agreeAction}" image="/img/ok.png" styleClass="activate-button" reRender="mainContent, sideBar" oncomplete="showEmailDialog();" /> This works fine on Firefox, but on IE, the showEmaiDialog() fires off to display the new dialog, and then the full page reloads, which instantly hides it again. I put in numerous alert() calls to make sure of what was happening. I see the e-mail dialog until I clear the final alert box in in the showEmailDialog() script, and then I see the alerts that I put into jQuery(document).ready(). Why does IE do a full page reload instead of just refreshing the requested sections?

For example, to understand the concept of public key encryption, the 'locked mailbox' analogy or similar is often used as an aid: An analogy for public-key encryption is that of a locked mailbox with a mail slot. The mail slot is exposed and accessible to the public; its location (the street address) is in essence the public key. Anyone knowing the street address can go to the door and drop a written message through the slot; however, only the person who possesses the key can open the mailbox and read the message. I also understand that to, subject and body are method calls.     I'm tumbled with a problem! I've set up my first check constraint using MySQL, but unfortunately I'm having a problem. When inserting a row that should fail the test, the row is inserted anyway. The structure: CREATE TABLE user ( id INT UNSIGNED NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT, uname VARCHAR(10) NOT NULL, fname VARCHAR(50) NOT NULL, lname VARCHAR(50) NOT NULL, mail VARCHAR(50) NOT NULL, PRIMARY KEY (id), CHECK (LENGTH(fname) > 30) ); The insert statement: INSERT INTO user VALUES (null, 'user', 'Fname', 'Lname', '[email protected]'); The length of the string in the fname column should be too short, but it's inserted anyway. I'm pretty sure I'm missing something basic here.

    So, I'm trying to send an smtp email from my website as a confirmation that their order has been place. The site is hosted on godaddy and I have no idea what's going on. I'm getting all kinds of error messages. The current one is: "System.Net.Mail.SmtpException: Mailbox name not allowed. The server response was: sorry, your mail was administratively denied. (#5.7.1)" My code is: string body = "Your order was placed"; MailMessage objEmail1 = new MailMessage("[email protected]", userEmail, "Confirmation Email", body); objEmail1.IsBodyHtml = true; SmtpClient client = new SmtpClient(); client.Host = "relay-hosting.secureserver.net"; client.UseDefaultCredentials = false; client.Send(objEmail1); I think the problem lies in the from address not belonging to godaddy or with the client.Host.   • What's a reasonable number of rows and tables to be able to join in MySQL?

    I have one table that maps locations to postal codes. For example, New York State has about 2000 postal codes. I have another table that maps mail to the postal codes it was sent to, but this table has about 5 million rows. I want to find all the mail that was sent to New York State, which seems simple enough, but the query is unbelievably slow. I haven't been able to even wait long enough for it to finish. Is the problem that there are 5 million rows? I can't help but think that 5 million shouldn't be such a large number for a computer these days... Oh, and everything is indexed. Is SQL just not designed to handle such large joins?
