• iPhone 3G S sync services problem

  When I try and synchronise my iPhone with iTunes, I get a dialog informing me that "syncing has been disabled on this computer". (I've never disabled syncing myself, and it worked perfectly fine a day ago) Music synchronises fine, as do videos, however, my contacts do not. Google Contacts no longer appears in the list to choose from, and the select box is empty. When I choose to re-enable syncing, iTunes informs me that "iTunes was unable to load provider data from Sync Services". I've followed several steps I've found on the internet, including deleting the C:\Users\Ryan\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\Sync Services directory, but to no avail. Any ideas on what could be causing this? Is there a Service (in the Windows-form-of-daemon sense) that I accidentally disabled?

  Hi Guys, I have searched around and havent really found an answer anywhere and this is still not working for me. I am using compression in IIS7 and it doesn't appear to be working. • Error "403 Forbidden" on Sharepoint Search Settings Page

  Hello I thought I had solved this nightmare by re-entering the values in my SSP properties set up, however accessing the Search Settings page error has reared it ugly head again. Please guys how do I get around this access denied issue. Thanks

  When i place ojdbc5.jar in the c8\webapps\p2pd\WEB-INF\lib directory... i receive the error below. And yes the content store is on an oracle 11g RAC database. I am running Oracle11g Client. Cognos version is 8.3 SP4. [Content Manager database connection] 1. [ ERROR ] The database connection failed. 2. [ ERROR ] Content Manager failed to start because it could not load driver "oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver". Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  I'm trying to get my java program to talk to a MySQL DB. So i did some reading and downloaded MySQL Connector/J. I've extracted it into my home directory ~. • SQL Server 2005 to 2008 upgrade - are MDF files binary compatible?

  I have 50 databases on a MS SQL Server 2005 system and want to upgrade to MS SQL Server 2008. This is what I tried on some test machines: 1. copied the \DATA directory from the source (MSSQL 2005) to exactly the same path on the target (MSSQL 2008) server. 2. edited the startup parameters on the MSSQL 2008 service to point to the path of the MSSQL 2005 master database. 3. restarted MSSQL service It worked and I can access all databases, tables and data. My questions are: I go back to SQL Server 4.2 and it has never been this easy. I know it worked, but should have it worked? Am I missing something, or is there going to be a gotcha next week? These are simple databases, with just tables, views and indexes. No cross database links, no triggers etc

• SonicFileFinder 2.2 Released

  My colleague Jens Schaller has released a new version of his free Visual Studio add-in SonicFileFinder, adding support for Visual Studio 2010. Announcement on his blog Download on the SonicFileFinder website As far as I can tell, there are no new features compared to version 2.1, but good to know that this add-in is now available for VS2010. For those who a wondering what SonicFileFinder is about: SonicFileFinder implements a command for searching and opening files in a Visual Studio solution, which is very nice especially in large projects. This may sound familiar to users of JetBrain’s ReSharper, which has a “Go To File” feature. But in my opinion SonicFileFinder does a better job overall: While ReSharper (4.5) does a prefix search by default, SonicFileFinder searches for any occurrence of the entered text inside a file name. In a long list of file names (e.g. all starting with “Page…”), this allows me to focus on the part that makes the difference (e.g. “Render” in PageRenderBuffer.cs). In ReSharper I would have to type “*Render*”, which can be shortened to “*Render” (which isn’t even correct). Note that SonicFileFinder does support wildcards, of course.   SonicFileFinder remembers the last input (and thus the last result list) without a noticeable delay of the popup. If I want to search for something different, I can type right away, so this behavior doesn’t slow me down. But where it really shines is when I’m not even sure what file exactly I was looking for – I open one file, notice that it’s not the one I want, re-open the pop-up dialog and now I can choose another one from the result list without re-entering the search text. SonicFileFinder allows me to open multiple files at one (nice for service interfaces and implementations). SonicFileFinder lets me open either a Windows Explorer or Command Line window in the directory containing a specific file.

• cPAddons version conflict with Wordpress

  I have multiple users on my CentOS 5.7 server with WHM/cPanel, who have installed WordPress 3.2.1, and eventually did a manual update to 3.3.1, from Wordpress itself. Now the version of WP for those users doesn't match th one detected by cPanel, and of course, "Upgrade" doesn't work because the directory can't be cleaned (WP is already working there). I've looked on the .cpaddons folder of each user account, and there's a YAML file there, but I'm not sure how can I touch that file for solving this issue. Is there any way to tell cPanel that those WP installations are in fact, 3.3.1?

  Hello, I have a long file path that works on my server, but a simliar path returns a 404 error when it is on my clients (IIS6) server (http://ddmat.com/). Here's the functioning file path on my server: http://www.forgefx.com/projects/ddmat/install/Application Files/McCurdys_1_0_0_0/Content/FBX/CCAE1B33/Roof-sectionB-02.fbm/hello.htm My guesses: Maybe the file path is too long? Maybe the ".fbm" in the directory path is invalid? Sorry for the vauge problem description. Please let me know what additional info I can provide that'd be helpful. • Installing GeoIP on Mac?

  I want to install the MaxMind GeoIP C library, so that I can use GeoIP as part of Django. I'm working on MacOS. I've downloaded GeoIP-1.4.8.tar.gz from here and run: ./configure make make check make install without any problems. I've also downloaded GeoIP.dat.gz and GeoLiteCity.dat.gz, unzipped them and put them in a local directory. Then I've set the following paths in my settings.py: GEOIP_PATH = 'path_to_dat_files' GEOIP_LIBRARY_PATH = 'path_to_c_files' Now I'm trying to run python manage.py migrate (which has a reference to GeoIP in a project I'm using), but I'm still getting this error: from django.contrib.gis.utils import GeoIP ImportError: cannot import name GeoIP Any ideas?   I'm running nginx 1.3.5 under windows seven, I need to execute nginx directly from a read-only media (CD or DVD), but when I want to run it, it fails with this error: nginx: [alert] could not open error log file: CreateFile() "logs/error.log" fail ed (5: Access is denied) 2012/08/28 13:52:46 [emerg] 5604#2864: CreateDirectory() "J:\nginx-1.3.5/temp/client_body_temp" failed (5: Access is denied) where J is my CD-ROM drive letter. I've changed nginx.conf to disable logging completely, but seems anyway it still tries to build a file named 'error.log' in '/logs' folder & some extra temporary contents in '/temp' folder at the startup, so I want to change 'logs' & 'temp' directory path to windows temp folder (%temp%), but I dont have any idea that how can I do it. Also I want to know why nginx still creates 'logs/error.log' after disableing error logging ?

It is available as part of Windows 7 and Vista as a standard feature, and was available as part of the Windows Server 2003 Resource Kit. NOTE: For Windows XP, you can obtain Robocopy by downloading the resource kit. Robocopy allows you to setup simple or advanced backup strategies. It provides such features as multi-threaded copying, mirroring or synchronization mode, automatic retry, and the ability to resume the copying process. • The provider is not compatible with the version of Oracle Client

  There was a recent upgrade of the Oracle client on a production web server housing serveral app pools each containing multiple web sites.  The upgrade consisted of adding the 11.2 client tools on the web server, but leaving the 9.2 and 10.2 versions alone.   After learning the upgrade occured, I updated Oracle.DataAccess.dll on my site to the 11.2 dll, and the web site ran smoothly.   The next day I discover the site is throwing an error:   Oracle.DataAccess.Client.OracleException:   The provider is not compatible with the version of Oracle Client   The App Pool will connect with an installed version of the Oracle client provider, and coordinate database interactions.  If a request comes in for a web site configured using an earlier version of the provider, that is the version the App Pool will use for Oracle interactions.  If a request is made for a site configured for a different version of the provider, the App Pool will see a conflict and throw the above error.   This web site: http://splinter.com.au/blog/?p=156 described the steps to grab the DLLs for a provider and bring them local (for Oracle 11.1), but even when I brought the DLLs for the Oracle Provider into the local bin directory, the App Pool would still determine the version of the oracle client and continue to throw the exception.   My only resolution for the above problem has been to have dedicated IIS app pools per version of Oracle client being leveraged.

• Measuring accesses to files - apache

  So, I run a website, that among other things serves some files (usually PDFs). All of these are stored under a specific directory on the server: /var/www/vhosts/mysite.com/httpdocs/site/pdf_files Due to storage issues on my VPS I am thinking of getting some S3 or other cloud storage, and mount it as a drive using S3QL/S3FS. Then I will be able to have the pdf_files folder symlinked to the cloud folder and serve those files using that, without any changes on the web app (is that a good plan?) Now, before doing that, to estimate costs, I need to measure how many file accesses people do, how many times those pdf files are downloaded each month for example. Basically how many times those pdf files are accessed through the webserver. I'd like to do it on the apache level. What's the best way that this can be done? e.g.: measuring the bandwidth used by files in that specific folder would also be nice, but estimating the GET requests I'll be doing to amazon is more important.

  I know this has been asked a few (thousand) times around the internet but I was hoping someone whose in the know might be able to comment on my particular setup. I have a web server hosting one site (php/codeigniter) with a wordpress blog in a sub directory. The server has 2GB RAM, 3GHz CPU and I have offloaded the static assets to CloudFlare which is has reduced bandwidth for the actual server by almost 75%. The problem I have is when an email campaign is sent out that links to the site or blog, it slows down. Below is my settings in apache2.conf. Average apache process size is 80M and there is 1.5GB available for apache. <IfModule mpm_prefork_module> StartServers 8 MinSpareServers 5 MaxSpareServers 20 MaxClients 20 MaxRequestsPerChild 2000 </IfModule> I have already setup and installed apc and built some caching into the site and used w3totalcache on the blog. • Make my git user and apache user have read/write/delete access

  I am having permission problems on my server. I use user developer to pull my git repository on the server. Then apache uses its own apache user to do write and execute code. I always have the problems when the app wants to write something in the directory (i.e: log files, and cache ...) if I execute a cron job and it uses my developer rights and wants to add something to the folders that is written by apache. My question is how to have my developer have the same write/delete access as my apache and avoid permission conflicts with each other? I am not fluent on linux command so, it would help if you could provide links or simply examples of doing so. thanks.

  I would like to enable the openssl extension in php.ini. I uncommented the extension=php_openssl.dll restarted apache service, but it still doesn't works. In the apache error log I've found PHP Warning: PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library 'C:/Program Files (x86)/mypath/php/ext\\php_openssl.dll' - The operating system cannot run %1.\r\n in Unknown on line 0 I tried to follow some tutorials which said that I have to copy ssleay32.dll and libeay32.dll to the windows/system32 directory, but it still doesn't works. Does anyone know how to install it properly?

• Wordpress Multisite- How to restrict a non-wordpress page only to one domain

  I am running three blogs from a wordpress multisite. Currently, I am developing a separate, non wordpress application. I want to link this application with blog1. I put the application in the subfoler of my root directory (The Wordpress multisite is installed in the root). I linked the application in the menu of blog1. So far so good. But, it is possible to access the application from all the three blogs. I want the application to be accessible only from blog1-domain/my-app/ but when I tried blog2-domain/my-app, it just opened normally. Generally, the application is accessible from all the three domains followed by /my-app. I don't think it is proper to go this way. Then, what can I do to restrict my app to be accessible only from a my blog1-domain/my-app ? Or am I not using a good blog structure?. I am open to all kind of suggestions. Thank you for your help.

  I have an nfs-kernel-server configured and running on Ubuntu 10.04 Server. /export THIRD_SERVER_IP(rw,fsid=0,insecure,no_subtree_check,async) SECOND_SERVER_IP(rw,fsid=0,insecure,no_subtree_check,async) /export/ebs THIRD_SERVER_IP(rw,fsid=0,insecure,no_subtree_check,async) SECOND_SERVER_IP(rw,nohide,insecure,no_subtree_check,async) I mounted the exported folder to the second server: mount -t nfs4 -o proto=tcp,port=2049 NFS_SERVER_IP_HERE:/ebs /ebs and it works just fine.
