  • Poorly performing regex

    I've a really poorly performing piece of regex, currently it makes Firefox, Chrome and IE hang for a period of time. Here's the reg-ex: ^([a-zA-Z0-9]+[/]?)+[a-zA-Z0-9]+$ It's kind of a url matcher, but should only match the requested path (not starting with or ending with a slash). Valid examples: Segment Segment/Segment segment/segment/Segment (etc) Invalid examples: /Segment Segment/ Segment/Segment/ Using the regex above over all three browsers and using two or more slashes causes the browsers to hang. It's obviously a poorly formed reg-ex, but can anyone help build a better one? Thanks,

    I got a web site using jQuery, jQuery Tools and some handcrafted JS running performing graphical enhancements. While it's running smooth on FF, Safari and Chrome, IE blocks the script execution : There is nothing particularly more dangerous on this code than, let's say, on Netvibes. Why is even talking about activeX ? I'm using JS. And how can I prevent that ? I don't want my user to click on "I allow this website" to work. It would be like putting a big red absolute DIV reading "Live quick and never come back".

  • Why does WPF toggle button pulse once unchecked

    Wihtin a Desktop app I have a toggle button: For the Checked event I am setting a value and then executing a method FilterView(); //ommitting code Unchecked state is just the opposite. resets a variable and executed the method again The question I have is I noticed when I uncheck the toggle button the button continues to pulse or flash ( going from blue to chrome) as if it still has focus. The button will stay like this until another button is clicked. Is there a way to remove this focus so that when the button is unchecked the button goes back to a unchecked state without the flashing / pulsing color. As you can see from above this is a standard toggle button no styles or custom I tested this on just a regular button and I found the same occured when clicked the button will continue to pulse / flash until another button is clicked. How do you work around this or prevent this effect from happening. Thank you

    Hi, i'm currently working on a HTML5 video player, i got it working fully everywhere, except on the freakin iPad. Basically, i can control everything, except the sound, i have a mute button, it works fine on Google Chrome, FF3.6 and Safari on Mac OS, but on the iPad no matter what value i put in video.volume, there is no change happening. Anybody got it working properly?   • How to programmatically answer "Yes" to WebBrowser control security alert

    I am using WebBrowser control to programmatically access a single website, but whenever I login, I receive this certificate security alert: Since I trust that website and since I need to programmatically automate the login as well, this dialog box gets in the way. I searched SO for a solution and found a question similar to mine, but the accepted answer does not work! I defined a static member in the form that contains the WebControl: public static bool ValidateServerCertificate(object sender, X509Certificate certificate, X509Chain chain, SslPolicyErrors sslPolicyErrors) { return true; } In my form's constructor I added: ServicePointManager.ServerCertificateValidationCallback = new RemoteCertificateValidationCallback(ValidateServerCertificate); But that didn't get rid of the certificate security alert. Is there any way to get rid of this warning? Is there an IE equivalent to Firefox's Add Security Exception??? Note: The owner's certificate works perfectly fine (without exhibiting this security alert) with standalone browsers (IE, FF, Chrome, Safari). It only exhibits the problem with the WebBroswer control.

    Hi, I needed the dialog to maintain its position fixed even if the page scrolled, so i used the extension at http://forum.jquery.com/topic/dialog-position-fixed-12-1-2010 but there's 2 problems with it: it flickers in IE and Firefox on page scroll (in Safari/Chrome it's fine) on closing and then reopening, it looses its stickyness and scrolls along with the page.   • Google Maps API Geocode gives error "Invalid label" in Firefox

Also, other json data works fine, for instance flickr ("http://api.flickr.com/services/feeds/photos_public.gne?tags=cat&tagmode=any&format=json&jsoncallback=?).   • YouTube player api - addEventListener() does not work for me?

    Hi, I'm using the youtube player api. I'm following the doc here: http://code.google.com/apis/youtube/js_api_reference.html having a problem adding an event listener on the player, it seems to just get stuck there. I put an alert statement directly after, which never gets called: ytplayer.addEventListener("onStateChange", "onytplayerStateChange"); alert("I never get called..."); any idea why this would happen? Running it through FF chrome safari, same thing happens on all. Other player features all work fine. I'm using the swfobject version. I'm running this live from a server too. I don't get it. Thanks

  • Jquery UI Slider focus issue

    I have a problem with the jQuery UI Slider. The issue also appears on the demo. It is more obvious in Chrome - if you go to http://jqueryui.com/demos/slider/#steps and slide the slider, you'll not see anything wrong. If you then click "New Window" or go to (http://jqueryui.com/demos/slider/steps.html) to view the demo in a new window and try sliding the slider, you'll see the handle of the slider gets a focus box around it during dragging. I am having this problem and I cannot seem to fix it. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

  • internet explorer ashx file problem

    My problem is a bit complicated: I am writing in c#, asp.net and using jquery I have a page that sends requests to the server using jquery's ajax method. I have a ashx file (handler) to respond to these request. User can perform several changes on several pages, then use some method that will call the ajax method. My ashx file reads some values From the session variables and acts accordingly. This works fine in all browsers but in internet explorer. In internet explorer the session seems to hold old information (old user ids'). It's incredible, the same code works fine in firefox, chrome and safari but fails with ie. What could be causing it? I have no clue where to even start looking for a solution. btw, Sorry for the general title, couldn't figure out how to explain in just few words. Thank You!

    Hello, I am having a problem with ajax requests in Internet Explorer and in Chrome - I cannot bust the cache. Normal pages don't have the problem - it's just the ajax requests. I know that one workaround is to append a random query string variable to the end of the URL. However, I don't want to lose all the benefits of caching, I just want the browser to pick up the new file if the version on the server is different from the cached version. I have tried manually setting the ajax POST header, to no avail: xmlHttp.setRequestHeader("Cache-Control", "must-revalidate"); Adding this to my .htaccess file doesn't work either: <FilesMatch "\.(js|css).*" Header set Cache-Control: "max-age=172800, public, must-revalidate" </FilesMatch Any help would be greatly appreciated.     My CSS: #content { border: 2px solid #4190d4; padding: 220px; background-color: #282828; margin-top: 65px; -moz-border-radius: 8px; -webkit-border-radius: 8px; } My jQuery: $("#header a").click(function() { $('#content').animate({padding: 300}, 500); } This code works perfectly fine in IE8, my #content div grows from 220px to 300px. In Firefox or Webkit-based browsers, though, my #content div first shrinks to 0px and then resizes to 300px. I'm using jQuery 1.4.2, Firefox 3.6 and Chrome 4.0.249.89. Any ideas?

  • CSS Attribute Content Selector multiple declarations

    I have this in my CSS: div#headwrap ul li a[href*="dev"] {background: #034769}; div#headwrap ul li a[href*="music"] {background: #A61300}; div#headwrap ul li a[href*="opinion"] {background: #b2d81e}; div#headwrap ul li a[href*="work"] {background: #ffc340}; So, my expected behavior is that where a link (a) within a list item (li) inside a unordered list (ul) inside a div with id "headwrap" has an href that contains "dev", the link will have a background color of #034769. If the link has an href that contains "music" it will have a background color of #A61300, and so on. However, what I am seeing is that the rule is only correctly applied to "dev". If I reorder the CSS declarations (putting music first, for instance), it only gets applied to "music". I'm testing in Firefox and Chrome, both are doing the same thing. Only the first one is applied. Anyone have any ideas why?

    Hi, I have this particular script that runs so that the flash elements don't show up on top of my slide out navigation. This redraws that flash element with wmode as opaque and so it shows up under the navigation. Works perfectly with Chrome and FireFox but not with IE. In IE I get an Invalid Argument in jquery.min.js code 0 Line 103 char 460. Can anyone help me as to why? If I comment out the second line of code inside the function then there is no error, but then doesn't work in FireFox.   • Leaving out type="text/javascript" language="javascript"

    Most of the script tags I create, I always include type="text/javascript" language="javascript" in the tag. My boss however does not. Sometimes he excludes both, sometimes just has language=javascript even without the quotes Now we have not had an issue in any of the major browsers with his tags. I'm talking about all versions of IE, FF, Safari, and Chrome. Personally I feel it's laziness and just totally improper and bad coding practice to leave stuff out like this even if it works without it. Anyone know if both should be included or just one or is it ok to leave both out in ASP.NET?

  • Internet Explorer blocked this website from displaying content with security certificate errors

    I have a security certificate linked to a CDN's server. The main website is https:www.connect4fitness.com When I pull the site up in firefox or chrome, everything works fine. But in IE I get the following error: "Internet Explorer blocked this website from displaying content with security certificate errors." On IE 9 it shows the button "Display Content" and you can get past the error by clicking on the button. On older versions on I the error message is much more cryptic and is confusing users. Please note that I don't have the option of asking end users to add the site to Trusted Sources as some folks use the site from their work computers and do not have that access. Also, some people don't bother to call once they hit the error. I have looked at the content and all my links are "https" only. I had one namespace link and I got rid of it. Any idea about how I can find what is triggering this message?

    Hi there, I'm having trouble making a simple shape move along a path in IE7 (the only version of IE I tried, actually). The following code works fine in chrome and firefox, but not IE. I couldn't find an obvious reason, has anybody seen something similar? canvas.path(rPath.path).attr("stroke", "blue"); var circle = canvas.circle(rPath.startX, rPath.startY, 5); circle.animateAlong(rPath.path, 3000, true); My rPath variable has the path and the starting point coordinates. Microsoft script debugger points to this line as the one where the code breaks: os.left != (t = x - left + "px") && (os.left = t); (line 2131 inside the uncompressed raphael.js script file, inside Element[proto].setBox = function (params, cx, cy) {...}) Any ideas?
