  I have a currency converter application for iphone which uses web service. The web service is returning result in the following format:- <Date>4/5/2010</Date> <Time>7:18:09 AM</Time> <Amount>20</Amount> <ExchangeRate>44.7336419443466</ExchangeRate> <Result>894.672839</Result> I'm storing the whole xml file in an NSString variable called theXML. I want to show the value inside the result tag.How can i read the data from the xml file or from the string.. Thanks in advance..

  I want to work with iTextSharp 5.0.5. But did not find any tutorial on this version. I downloaded some previous version tutorials but giving error. I just want to stitch some images into a pdf file by iTextSharp. Can anyone please give me code for that ? EDIT: After some time spending on it I finally figured it out how to add image. But the problem is that image is too big. Now my problem is how to shrink image or I want to see the image in page in normal format. Now how can I do it ?

The graph I'm looking for is like this, where c,d,e,f will be the names - Apple, Ball, Cat. Y-axis will be Frequency Each group will have 4 bars: DJF,JJA,MAM,SON Filled by seasons The number of Frequency written above the bar plot. How can I format the data to make it suitable for ggplot (cbind, melt etc) and use it in ggplot?

• How to parse a complex string using jQuery Tablesorter plugin ?

  I have a table like this I'd like to sort : | Name | Case | | John | X-123/08 P| | Bob | X-123/09 | | Dylan | X-45/10 | I want to sort the Case colum by case's year then case's number knowing that the format is always "X-(1 to 4 digits for case's number)/(case's year on 2 digits) (sometimes some text)". It's possible that after the year's case I have some text but it shoud be ignored for sorting. I am using tablesorter jQuery's plugin and I am struggling to add a custom parser for this.   Can a user be a member of multiple Organization Units (OU) in Active Directory ? Also, is there a standard format mentioned by Microsoft on how an OU should be created and what its attributes are ? I found this in Wikipedia "However, Organizational Units are just an abstraction for the administrator, and do not function as true containers; the underlying domain operates as if objects were all created in a simple flat-file structure, without any OUs. • Regular expression in Ruby

  Hi, Could anybody help me make a proper regular expression from a bunch of text in Ruby. I tried a lot but I don't know how to handle variable length titles. The string will be of format <sometext>title:"<actual_title>"<sometext>. I want to extract actual_title from this string. I tried /title:"."/ but it doesnt find any matches as it expects a closing quotation after one variable from opening quotation. I couldn't figure how to make it check for variable length of string. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

• Des decryption returns empty

  Hi, I am using Des.php for decryption. For few texts descript function returns Correct output in readable text format. For few... it just returns blank(empty.) After debugging in Des.php, i found that function _unpad($text) is returning false. The input $text is also still encoded. What could be the reason?   I have an input string that's generated as in following example: string.Format("Document {0}, was saved by {1} on {2}. The process was completed {3} milliseconds and data was received.", "Document.docx", "John", "1/1/2011", 45); Generate string looks like this then: Document Document.docx, was saved by John on 1/1/2011. The process was completed 45 milliseconds and data was received. Once such a string is received from a different application, what would be the easiest way to parse with regex and extract values Document.docx, John, 1/1/2011, 45 from it. I am looking for the easiest way to do this as we will have to parse a number of different input strings.

• Nokogiri Not Parsing File

  I'm using Nokogiri to parse pepXML files from different peptide search engines. I have two pepXML files, both of which appear, inasmuch as I can tell, to be of correct format, and puts Nokogiri::XML(IO.read(file)) will output the whole XML file for both files. The problem is, doc.xpath("any valid xpath") will parse the tag from one of the files, but not the other. No errors are given, so I have no idea why it won't parse. Anyone know of any reasons why Nokogiri wouldn't parse something out?

• Good open source analytics/stats software in PHP?

  The url shortening service I'm building needs to display some basic click stats to users: # of clicks, conversions, referring domains, and country (filterable by a date range). I'll possibly want more advanced stats in the future. Is there existing open source software that will allow me to pass events to it and then easily display a bar or line graph of that event (for example, a line graph of "conversions" between two specified dates). It seems like something like this should exist and would be much easier then building the whole thing from scratch. I know there are graphing scripts, but that still requires me to format the data (usually as an xml file) and then pass it to the graph. I'm looking for something a bit more complete, which I can just feed the events and then it does everything else.

  I'm trying to render a font using the css property @font-face , in Firefox, Chrome and Opera it works fine, but within Internet Explorer is just does not want to display correctly, and reverts back to another standard font. • Integers in JavaScript

  I'm a beginner to Javascript so forgive me if I sound dumb because I learned some Javascript from W3Fools (which are really difficult tutorials - they don't explain anything I want to know, but everything I probably can guess from my experience with C++). I may be switching over to MDN, but if you can recommend any other tutorials, that be great. Anyways, so here's my question: I just read a few lines of this, and apparently: Numbers in JavaScript are "double-precision 64-bit format IEEE 754 values", according to the spec. This has some interesting consequences. There's no such thing as an integer in JavaScript, so you have to be a little careful with your arithmetic if you're used to math in C or Java. I've already seen that there are few of the data types (for variables) I'm used to from C++. But I didn't expect all numbers to automatically be floats. Isn't there any way to use integers, not float? Will a future version of JavaScript support ints?

  [Since asking this question, I've found: http://www.cs.unc.edu/~gb/blog/2007/02/11/ctypes-tricks/ which gives a good answer.] I just wrote a __str__ method for a ctype-generated Structure class 'foo' thus: def foo_to_str(self): s = [] for i in foo._fields_: s.append('{}: {}'.format(i[0], foo.\_\_getattribute__(self, i[0]))) return '\n'.join(s) foo.\_\_str__ = foo_to_str But this is a fairly natural way to produce a __str__ method for any Structure class. How can I add this method directly to the Structure class, so that all Structure classes generated by ctypes get it? (I am using the h2xml and xml2py scripts to auto-generate ctypes code, and this offers no obvious way to change the names of the classes output, so simply subclassing Structure, Union &c. and adding my __str__ method there would involve post-processing the output of xml2py.)

• Determine if PowerShell function is running as part of a pipeline?

  Can a PowerShell function determine if it is being run as part of a pipeline? I have a function which populates an array with instances of FileInfo which I would like to "yield" to the pipeline if the function is being run this way or produce some pretty output if the function is being invoked by itself from the command line. function Do-Something { $file_infos = @() # Populate $file_infos with FileInfo instances... if (INVOKED_IN_PIPELINE) { return $file_infos } else { foreach ($file_info in $file_infos) { write-host -foregroundcolor yellow $file_info.fullname } } } Basically, I'm trying to figure out how to implement INVOKED_IN_PIPELINE. If it is run in a pipeline (e.g. Do-Something | format-table fullname), I would simply yield the array, but if run directly (e.g. Do-Something), it would simply pretty-print the output. Is there a way to do this? If there is a more "idiomatic" way to achieve this kind of thing, I would also be interested to know.

• Python: Unpack arbitary length bits for database storage

  I have a binary data format consisting of 18,000+ packed int64s, ints, shorts, bytes and chars. The data is packed to minimize it's size, so they don't always use byte sized chunks. For example, a number whose min and max value are 31, 32 respectively might be stored with a single bit where the actual value is bitvalue + min, so 0 is 31 and 1 is 32. I am looking for the most efficient way to unpack all of these for subsequent processing and database storage. Right now I am able to read any value by using either struct.unpack, or BitBuffer. I use struct.unpack for any data that starts on a bit where (bit-offset % 8 == 0 and data-length % 8 == 0) and I use BitBuffer for anything else. I know the offset and size of every packed piece of data, so what is going to be the fasted way to completely unpack them? Many thanks.

• Printing the address of a struct object

  I have a struct like this typedef struct _somestruct { int a; int b; }SOMESTRUCT,*LPSOMESTRUCT; I am creating an object for the struct and trying to print it's address like this int main() { LPSOMESTRUCT val = (LPSOMESTRUCT)malloc(sizeof(SOMESTRUCT)); printf("0%x\n", val); return 0; } ..and I get this warning warning C4313: 'printf' : '%x' in format string conflicts with argument 1 of type 'LPSOMESTRUCT' So, I tried to cast the address to int like this printf("0%x\n", static_cast<int>(val)); But I get this error: error C2440: 'static_cast' : cannot convert from 'LPSOMESTRUCT' to 'int' What am I missing here? How to avoid this warning? Thanks.

• Getting fields of a class through reflection

  I've done it a gazillion times in the past and successfully so. This time, I'm suffering from lapses of amnesia. So, I am just trying to get the fields on an object. It is an embarrassingly simple and stupid piece of code that I am writing in a test solution before I do something really useful in production code. Strangely, the GetFieldsOf method reports a zero length array on the "Amazing" class. • Fire only one Custom Validator at a time

  I have two Custom Validators attached to a textbox. The textbox is to enter comma separated list of emails. The first validator checks that there is not duplicate email address. The second custom validator checks that all the email addresses are in valid format. I have following code and it works fine. However, when both the failure criteria is met both of them are firing and I get two * at the right side of my textbox. What is the best approach to show only one * at a time? • MySQL Query, limit output display according/only to associated ID!

  So here's my situation. I have a books table and authors table. An author can have many books... In my authors page view, the user (logged in) can click an author in a tabled row and be directed to a page displaying the author's books (collected like this URI format: viewauthorbooks.php?author_id=23), very straight forward... However, in my query, I need to display the books for the author only, and not all books stored in the books table (as i currently have!) As I am a complete novice, I used the most simple query of: SELECT * FROM tasks_tb :)....this returns the books for me, but returns every single value (book) in the database, and not ones associated with the selected author. And when I click a different author the same books are displayed for them...I think everyone gets what I'm trying to achieve, I just don't know how to perform the query. I'm guessing that I need to start using more advanced query clauses like INNER JOIN etc. Anyone care to help me out :)

• Getting the date object to work in IE6 (w/ YYYY-MM-DD param)?

  I just got IE6 sprung on me for a project that is going out into the wild soon, which means it's time to go back and comb through all of the CSS and JS. I've gotten hung up on the date object, however: $.validator.addMethod("dateRange", function() { var today = new Date(); var event_date_raw = $('#event_date').val(); var event_date_parts = event_date_raw.split("-"); var event_date = new Date( event_date_parts[2]+","+event_date_parts[1]+","+event_date_parts[0] ); if( event_date.getTime() >= today.getTime() ) return true; return false; }, "Please specify a correct date:"); event_date.getTime() is returning "NaN" in IE6 so the validation fails. The event_raw_date is in the YYYY-MM-DD format, which date doesn't seem to mind in every other browser... Thoughts?
