• Working with multiple jQuery libraries and Prototype.

  Ok, i saw some other posts about this sort of thing, but not exactly related. This is not what I want to do, but need to do unfortunately. We have in this order right now Prototype 1.6 jQuery 1.2.6 with noConflict on jQuery with j I need to add jQuery 1.4.2 in that mix as well. It will always be the last one loaded. No option. Is there anyway i can do this currently? I know this is not good, yada, yada, but it has to be done for now unfortunately. Thanks, Derek

  Hi, I'm doing a gridview with an object datasource: List<MyObject> TheSource = a linq query At some point, I have MyGridview.DataSource = TheSource; MyGridview.Databind(); and an OnRowDataBound event handler that's tied to the databinding. In that event handler, how do you make column 2 contain 2 objects from TheSource. For instance, in the TheSource, there is a variable for FirstName and another one for LastName. Column 2 needs to contain both the first and last name in the same cell. Thanks.

  hii, i am working on SNMP from last few days,i have develope a small application(SNMP Agent) which * Run on 161 port. * Have a tree structured OID support. * Respond to all Get,GetNext,Set Pdu Request types. * Tested with some SNMP Managers(free available) by get and set the values of the OID's. BUT,now question is when i tried it with Cacti it will not respond anything,but detect windows snmp service..it just respond to the requests of the SNMP Managers. So,Is it mandatory to provide mib with SNMP Agent??.

• Indexed key vs indexed separate columns, which one is faster ?

  In MYSQL, from a pure performance perspective, if I have a table with large amount of data with 10/1 read/write ratio. is it faster in read/write performance to have 4 search criteria in separate columns and all indexed or have them combined in to one single string acting as a key and store in one indexed column ? e.g. say this table with 5 columns, first name, last name, sex, country and file where the first four columns will ALWAYS be given as a part of search parameters in a search or have a table with two columns, key and file. where the value of key can be john-smith-male-australia ?? I don't quite get the pros and cons. the point I try to stress is the fact that all parameters will be given.in a search.

• Items are being replace by another in the Datagridview

• iPhone OpenGL Template is cheating?

  XCode's OpenGL template seems to be cheating to solve this "stretched" viewport problem I've been trying to understand for the last 3 hours. In the iphone "OpenGL ES Application" template, the colorful square that bounces up and down on the screen is not really a square at all! ES1Renderer.m (the ES2 file as well) static const GLfloat squareVertices[] = { -0.5f, -0.33f, 0.5f, -0.33f, -0.5f, 0.33f, 0.5f, 0.33f, }; But it comes out looking square on the device/simulator due to the stretching/squashing effect of a non-square viewport. I tried to fix it by fiddling with glFrustumf() but that doesn't seem to change the aspect ratio. I was able to get things looking good (not-stretched) when I fed glViewport() with a 1:1 widht:height.. But this doesn't seem like the answer because it offsets the viewport placement. What's the right way to correct for this stretching and why doesn't XCode do it that way?

  Hello, I have worked with Ruby on Rails for the last four years. So far I have used textmate for writing the code. This is working great as long as I don't need to do any decent presentation. I was wondering if there is any WYSIWYG editor out there that can intergrate with Rails. Something like Dreamweaver with the ability to browse Objects etc. If I have opened the _show.erb I create a div and selete @user.email. etc. Any suggestions?

  In my application I generate files at random opportunities. To ensure a unique naming, I tried to use the nano seconds since 1.1.1970: long time = DateTime.Now.Ticks; String fileName = Convert.ToString(time); Console.WriteLine(fileName); Now I observed something weird. Why is the output like that? I mean why are the last 4 numbers always the same? • Options for header in raw byte file.

  I have a large raw data file (up to 1GB) which contains raw samples from a USB data logger. I need to store extra information relating to the file (sample rate, description, trigger point, last seek position etc) and was looking into adding this as a some sort of header. The header file should ideally be human readable and flexible so I've so far ruled out some sort of binary serialization into a header. I also want to avoid two separate files as they could end up separated when copied or backed up. I remembered somebody telling me that newer *.*x Microsoft Office documents are actually a number of files in a zip. Is there a simple way to achieve this? Could I still keep the quick seek times to the raw file?

  Hi everybody! I've been working with swing for the last 2 years, but i'm still not satisfy with my own work. The apps are "fast" enough, but the development isn't enough "clean". Can you recommend me any real world project, book, or something similar that shows me how a real world swing app work. May be a framework, something structured, etc. For example, i'm thinking i may code a "window manager" that has all the window of the app in an unified resource, may be cached, etc. I think all those good ideas must be implemented already. • WindowsPhone App data connection FAILS in MarketPlace published App but WORKS in Visual Studio development (same XAP)

  Tearing my hair out(!) My last App update has been accepted and released by MarketPlace but the remote server data connection does NOT work/connect from the downloaded App (from MarketPlace). However, the same App (the accepted XAP) when I'm running it from Visual Studio, using the same remote server address works just fine. WHY!... Has anyone else ever run into anything like this? Here's the remote path: http://www.streamcommunication.com/ZenAwaken/DownloadableCollections.xml I can load that to a browser and retrieve the XML When I'm in Visual Studio I can connect via that path and retrieve the file and consume the data BUT!! The exact same XAP which has been accepted and distributed by Windows Phone marketplace FAILS. Is it possible that MarketPlace does something (encryption?) to the XAP that would corrupt the path string? Any thoughts or experiences would be very helpful! Tom

  I am trying to wrap a c++ class (let's call it "Spam") written by someone else with swig to expose it to Python. After solving several problems, I am able to import the module in python, but when I try to create an object of such class I obtain the following error: foo = Spam.Spam('abc',3) Traceback (most recent call last): File "<stdin>", line 1, in <module> File "Spam.py", line 96, in __init__ this = _Spam.new_Spam(*args) NotImplementedError: Wrong number of arguments for overloaded function 'new_Spam'.   Hello GNU Emacs 23.1.1 I am wondering is there a way to display the path of the file in the status bar, instead of just the filename. I have to open many files in many directories, and sometimes I forget what directory they are in. Just easier to display the some of the path in the status bar if that is possible. Sometimes my directory paths are very long. for example /projects/clientserver/trunk/src/client/client.c like this in the status bar, just display the last two directories. /src/client/client.c Many thanks for any suggestions,

  In the left navigation i have a series of check boxes and a grid view in the page body.Grid view results changes based on the check box selection,whenever i click on the links in grid view it goes to the second page and there is a link on the page which takes me back to the first page,but the check box selected value is maintained for the first time only and if we repeat the same process for the second time and i see that the first time selection of the check box is maintained.Here the grid view is placed in update panel and the check box in the left is called using .... AsyncPostBackTrigger ControlID="cphLeftNavigation". I've tried removing the above code referring the cphLeftNavigation and i see the results are coming up correctly and the last selected check box value is being maintained correctly and i want the same functionality to be implemented with/without update panel. Can anyone let me know,what exactly should i change to implement the above mentioned functionality.

• How do I release an object allocated in a different AutoReleasePool ?

  Hi, I have a problem with the memory management in Objective-C. Say I have a method that allocates an object and stores the reference to this object as a member of the class. If I run through the same function a second time, I need to release this first object before creating a new one to replace it. Supposing that the first line of the function is: NSAutoreleasePool *pool = [[NSAutoreleasePool alloc] init]; This means that a different auto-release pool will be in place. The code to allocate the object is as follows: if (m_object != nil) [m_object release]; m_object = [[MyClass alloc] init]; [m_object retain]; The problem is that the program crashes when running the last line of the method: [pool release]; What am I doing wrong ? • Are self-described / auto-descriptive services loosely or tightly coupled in a SOA architecture ?

  I consider a self-described / auto-descriptive service as a good thing in a SOA architecture, since (almost) everything you know to call the service is present in the service contract (such a WSDL). Sample of a non self-described service for me is Facebook Query Language (FQL http://wiki.developers.facebook.com/index.php/FQL), or any web service exchanging XML flow in a one String parameter for then parsing XML and performing treatments. Last ones seem further more technically decoupled, since technically you can switch implementations without technical impact on the caller, handling compatibility between implementations/versions at a business level. On the other side, having no strong interface (diluted into the service and its version), make the service tightly coupled to the existing implementation (more difficulty to interchange the service and to ensure perfect compatibility).   I'm looking for a code snippet manager per the following: Usable on Windows stand-alone product desktop-based (not online) Free or paid Has PHP syntax highlighting I've found the following, but they don't seem to quite ring the bell (although they are good products): -- Snip-It Pro (not free) -- Has syntax highlighting, but seems "not there yet." -- The Guide (free: SourceForge) Tree-based info manager, no syntax highlighting. -- ActionOutline (free, upgrade not free) Tree-based info manager, no syntax highlighting. There have been questions about this before on stackoverflow, but the last one was over a year ago (over 400 answers), which is where I got the products listed above.   When building a world projection matrix from scale, rotate, translate matrices, then the translation matrix must be the last in the process, right? Else you'll be scaling or rotating your translations. Do scale and rotate need to go in a specific order?   Given data like this C1<-c(3,-999.000,4,4,5) C2<-c(3,7,3,4,5) C3<-c(5,4,3,6,-999.000) DF<-data.frame(ID=c("A","B","C","D","E"),C1=C1,C2=C2,C3=C3) How do I go about removing the -999.000 data in all of the columns I know this works per column DF2<-DF[!(DF$C1==-999.000 | DF$C2==-999.000 | DF$C3==-999.000),] But I'd like to avoid referencing each column. I am thinking there is an easy way to reference all of the columns in a particular data frame aka: DF3<-DF[!(DF[,]==-999.000),] or DF3<-DF[!(DF[,(2:4)]==-999.000),] but obviously these do not work And out of curiosity, bonus points if you can me why I need that last comma before the ending square bracket as in: ==-999.000),]
