  • Pass variable to Google Custom Search Engine

    Is it possible to pass a search variable into the Google Custom Search Engine that I have embedded on my website? I can get the search engine to work, but I can't pass it a term via POST (it's coming from a search button on other pages of the website) I tried to hack the code I found here: http://code.google.com/apis/ajax/playground/?exp=search#hello_world And this is what I have so far...     I want to load the lightbox javascript only when a certain condition is satisfied so I'm loading it using $.ajax like so: $.ajax({ url: "../static/js/lightbox.js", dataType: 'script', cache: true, success: function() { alert('loaded'); $("a.lightbox").lightbox({ opacity: "0.6", width: "940" }); }}); I see the "loaded" alert but the lightbox does not work. However, when I load the file directly (script src) from the HTML, lightbox works. How do I fix this? Many thanks for your help.

    Hello, I've a problem with SWIG and python. I've a c-class that compiles correctly, but the python script says it can't find the module. I compile with: swig -c++ -python codes/codes.i g++ -c -Wall -O4 -fPIC -pedantic codes/*.cc g++ -I/usr/include/python2.6 -shared codes/codes_wrap.cxx *.o -o _codes.so This gives me a _codes.so file, as I would expect, but then I have this python file: import sys import codes (rest of the code omitted) It gives me: Traceback (most recent call last): File "script.py", line 3, in <module> import codes ImportError: No module named codes According to http://www.swig.org/Doc1.3/Introduction.html#Introduction_nn8 this is all I should have to do... The files are in the same directory, so the path should not be a problem ?

  • Java Socket fails to transmit data over the network

    I'm experiencing a bizarre problem with sockets between a Java Knopflerfish client bundle and a PHP (CLI, not web) server. The client/server pair work fine when both are located on the localhost, and all data is transmitted successfully. However, when the Java client exists on a different machine, connections to the server are successful, but no data is received by the PHP script. Packet analysis confirms that the data sent by the Java client is received on by the server - PHP just seems to have problems getting its hands on it. As a further note, I've done some tests with telnet as the client. The PHP server script receives all data fine from any host. This leads me to believe that the problem has something to do with the way java is setting up the socket or that there is some networking issue that I'm not familiar with. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Can post code samples if desired.

  • searching between dates in MYSQL in this format 03/17/10.11:22:45

    I have a script that automatically populates a mysql database with data every hour. It populates the date field like 03/17/10.12:34:11 and so on. I'm working on pulling data based on 1 day at a time from a search script. If i use select * from call_logs where call_initiated between '03/17/10.12:00:00' and '03/17/10.13:00:00' it works, but when I try to add the rest of the search params, it ignores the call_initiated field. select * from call_logs where caller_dn='2x9xxx0000' OR called_dn='2x9xxx0000' AND call_initiated between '03/17/10.12:00:00' and '03/17/10.13:00:00' ^-- I x'd out a couple of the numbers. I've also tried without the between function, and used = <= to pull the records, but have the same results. Im sure its an oversight, thanks in advance.

    I have five tables in my database. Members, items, comments, votes and countries. I want to get 10 items. I want to get the count of comments and votes for each item. I also want the member that submitted each item, and the country they are from. After posting here and elsewhere, I started using subselects to get the counts, but this query is taking 10 seconds or more! SELECT `items_2`.*, (SELECT COUNT(*) FROM `comments` WHERE (comments.Script = items_2.Id) AND (comments.Active = 1)) AS `Comments`, (SELECT COUNT(votes.Member) FROM `votes` WHERE (votes.Script = items_2.Id) AND (votes.Active = 1)) AS `votes`, `countrys`.`Name` AS `Country` FROM `items` AS `items_2` INNER JOIN `members` ON items_2.Member=members.Id AND members.Active = 1 INNER JOIN `members` AS `members_2` ON items_2.Member=members.Id LEFT JOIN `countrys` ON countrys.Id = members.Country GROUP BY `items_2`.`Id` ORDER BY `Created` DESC LIMIT 10 My question is whether this is the right way to do this, if there's better way to write this statement OR if there's a whole different approach that will be better. Should I run the subselects separately and aggregate the information?

  • Can you use PHP libcurl to pull files from server A to server B?

    Hi, cURL and libcurl let you do things you normally do with a browser, right? Like, as if you have a jini sit inside a server and fire up a browser and do stuff. Ok then. I need a script to sit on server B, and click on download links on a server A and download files (from server A to server B). I am new to curl, and not sure if all I need is to issue a simple get or something else. I know that Content-disposition header forces the browser to save the document. Does it have the same effect on libcurl too? If it does, I'll make my serving script on server A send that header, and then serve the file. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks

However, the other pages will still have to be able to add/delete values from this array, in case there are no linked files at all, or I need to add some.     Hello. I have a Python script that reads a file (typically from optical media) marking the unreadable sectors, to allow a re-attempt to read said unreadable sectors on a different optical reader. I discovered that my script does not work with block devices (e.g. /dev/sr0), in order to create a copy of the contained ISO9660/UDF filesystem, because os.stat().st_size is zero. The algorithm currently needs to know the filesize in advance; I can change that, but the issue (of knowing the block device size) remains, and it's not answered here, so I open this question.
