For some reason when I download zip files with IE8 I get Folder is invalid or corrupted while downloading with Firefox or Chrome I can open the file. Is there a fix for this?
Hello, I have Windows 7 installed and some certificate in .pfx format.
I succeed installing it to local store and store of domain user with administrator privileges,
but when I connect with local administrator and try to install it I get error:
The import failed because the store was read-only, the store was full, or the store did not open correctly.
Any ideas?
Thank you for ahead.
Many companies offer unlimited online backup space for a fixed price
(mozy.com, twitter.com/allmydata, onlinestoragesolution.com, etc), but
they either use proprietary non-Linux-friendly software and/or have
gone out of business and/or don't actually work.
Who offers reliable unlimited online backup space for a fixed price
that's compatible with rsync, FTP, or other generic/open source file
transfer protocols?
Or, has anyone written software that lets me treat Mozy's/etc space as
though it were regular file space (eg, "mozyfs"?)
I am wondering if there is a free email client that automatically sends the email without needing to be open? I'm assuming this email client would have to install a service to do this.
I think the newer versions of outlook can do this, but the version I have, does not do this.
I have a small video that I would like to convert to black and white. I'm on Ubuntu, and I've avidemux installed. I will be OK if it can be done with some other software if not avidemux; basically, using some open source or free software, not a software for which I've to pay.
I have my domain registered with godaddy. I want to send newsletter to my customers (around 5000). But there is limit to send number of emails per day.
Can i setup SMTP server on my home PC (windows XP) for sending these mails.
Is there any "open source"/Free newsletter management application (build on ASP.NET, so that i can customize it if needed) which track bounce emails and other analytics.
Any issue which i have to take care.
We are serving files with the .xlsx (excel 2007/2010) extension. IE, Chrome, Safari all download the file and open excel just fine.
Firefox is being stupid. For some reason it's appending .xls to the extension. I found this: https://support.mozilla.com/bs/questions/758363
However, the instructions weren't very specific and completely unclear to me.
How can I tell Firefox not to screw with the file extension?
Thanks,
I'm using Windows 7 Enterprise. When I click on a favorite folder (left hand pane) in a My Computer window, it opens into a new window even though I have the folder options set to "open each folder in the same window". Is there anyway to change this?
Well my battery is only lasting for 4.5 hours or 4 hours if I have Xcode open, and sometimes if I'm using youtube (which will make safari to use 15% of the processor) the heat can go up to 145 F or 62 C. Not saying that sometimes can be uncomfortable to hold it on my lap... because of the heat...
Is this normal?
Should I take it to warranty?
Thank you!
I like to view my library in various ways in WMP. For example, I usually search for Podcast and order the result by date added. This gives me a list of my podcasts by date order, newest to oldest. Is there a way of saving this view so that I don't have recreate it each time I open WMP?
If it's not possible to do this, can anyone suggest an app that does do it, and that handles syncing as well as WMP.
I can't open my hard disk drive. The error box says
"RUnDLL, there was a problem starting ~$WCFLPM.FAT32 The specified
module could not be found".
My HDD has a virus before. My hard disk contains a shortcut and the shortcut contains all files. I don't want to format it just yet because it contains quite many files. I tried troubleshooting it but none of the solutions in the internet helped.
I just don't know a better way to describe my issue that is driving me nuts.
I am trying to establish a test domain with virtual machines on a box that has Win7 with VMwware workstation installed. The purpouse with this domain will be so that we can try and test different situations before they go into the production network.
I build a VM with WinSrv2008R2 and I am using that VM as a template to make other servers for the domain by making clones of it. Now I raise a DC with one clone and a member server with another clone - I add the server to the domain. I am following a standard procedure as always (it is not my first domain). Then I make an admin account and I am adding the admin to be a member of the Domain and Enterprise Admins group.
That admin is admin with full priviledges on the DC.. no problem there.
But on the other server has ... somewhat half the privileges and I cant log in via RDP. I tryed with another account. Same issues.
For example (with half the privileges): I can't open the Even Viewer if I go via Start - Administrative Tools - Event Viewer. But I can open the Even Viewer via the server manager. You can notice this on the image below. I mean WTF???
I am going crazy, I haven't experienced anything similar in my three years of expertise. I already lost 3 days troubleshooting this. Could this be related with the cloning? Perhaps if I make fresh installs of WinSrv2008 there won't be any problems?
I've had raised test domains as VMs on other occasions before, and there weren't any problems then. This is VMware Workstation 8. I've made clones before, on Workstation 7 it didn't had any problems. Anyone has any ideas?
UPDATE:
This is the info from the event log when I try to access via RDP:

Few days ago, I click on Most Visited, right click Facebook and select Forget about this site. Of course, all of my history, bookmarks and 6 saved passwords are gone
Yesterday, I installed LassPass add-on, and only import Firefox saved password
When I open Firefox, goto Facebook, all of my 6 password are appeared
So, my question is, when I select Forget about this site, did Firefox remove my passwords completely?
so I've been trying to reencode a .mp4 video I have into a .avi so my cousin can use it on his Windows machine. He's not very tech-savvy, and doesn't want to deal with downloading any new programs to open .mp4 videos, but thats beside the point. The current string I'm using is
ffmpeg -i Courage.Under.Fire.1996.BRRip.H264.AAC.5.1ch.Gopo.mp4 -sameq -acodec copy -vcodec copy CourageUnderFire.avi
It produces the video, however doesn't give me any audio. Any assistance?
I was so excited to hear that Windows 7 Explorer now has a hotkey to create a new folder (ctrl+shift+N), but I tried it on my machine, and it doesn't work!! If I press ctrl+shift+N in a Windows Explorer window, it opens up my default web browser (Firefox) and tries to open the last downloaded file.
How do I get Create New Folder functionality back?
Notes: Windows 7, Firefox is default browser. Keyboard is MS Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000.
What is the best tool for file undeletion in your experience? Google shows a gazillion of them, but I'd like to hear about good (or bad) experiences with any of those.
Objective: Restoring 500.000 audio (WAV PCM) files.
Doesn't matter if it's commercial, free or open source, it matters how quick and reliable
it is.
The error I'm receiving:
CREATE ASSEMBLY failed because it could not open the physical file "\\<server>\<folder>\<assembly>.dll": 5(Access is denied.).
TSQL:
exec sp_configure 'clr enabled', 1
reconfigure
go
create assembly <assemblyname> from '\\<server>\<folder>\<assembly>.dll'
with permission_set = safe
How can I create an assembly from a unc path?
What is your favourite free Tiling Window Manager for Mac? Open Source would be a plus, but it's not required.
NOTE: I know about Expose', but it doesn't "tile" the windows as far as I know (but I would be glad to be corrected).
I am trying to find code that I can adopt for a startup site. We cannot use a third party vendor. So if there is a free open source code out there would someone please direct me to it.
Hello,
By default one user can open only one simultaneous connection on IIS6, how to increase this number? I do not find any option in IIS6 for this.
Regards,
Tomas
I've looked the normal places, msconfig, run, runonce for something that would prompt this to run at startup and I can't figure it out. Does anyone have any ideas why System Properties would open up every single time someone logs into this server?
I'm setting up a KeePass database and it offers the ability to use a key file, which it says is more secure because it can use a longer and more complex password but is easier to break because you only need the key file to open the database. I'll only be using the key file on 2 computers (one desktop and one laptop), wo which is the best option?
Note that it's definitely more appealing to use the key file for me because i have a hard time remembering anything close to a random password.
How can restore windows power shell to windowed mode? ive set it to open in full screen, however i now cant find a way to restore it to windowed mode.?
An open-ended question (ie I havn't encountered this yet...)
Being in the UK I consider it only a matter of time until I come across the following scenario:
Windows 8 Pro N install where the End User wants DVD playback without installing all the Media Player 'add-ins' to enable it.
Will just installing codecs and then some playback software work? (ie no huge downloads from Windows Update - consider this user to only want Crtical Updates due to a slow internet connection.)
