• Passing Large amount of data in PHP.

  I would like to know what is the best way to pass a large amount of XML data from one PHP script to another. I have a script that reads in an XML feed of jobs. I would like to have the script display a list of the job titles as links. When the user clicks a link they would be taken to another page displaying the details for that job. The job details are too large to send in the query string, and it seems poor style to start a session for data that isn't specific to that user. Any ideas?

• URL getRequestParameterMap not working

  I'm using IceFaces 1.8.2 and trying to get a parameter from the URL using: ((HttpServletRequest) FacesContext.getCurrentInstance() .getExternalContext().getRequest()).getParameter(name); This works fine on the inital request. However, when I do a partialSubmit on a component, it stops working. I'm assuming that its to do with how requests are processed when partial submits are done. Is there a workaround? At the moment, I'm having to ((HttpServletRequest) FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getExternalContext() .getRequest()).getQueryString(); and manually pass the query string. Thanks.

  I have an array of divs and I want to iterate over each div and pass it to sparklines. like so: var divs = $("#wrapper>div"); var data = ["1:2:3:4", "4:3:2:3:1"]; var i; for(i = 0; i<data.length; i++){ divs[i].sparkline(data[i]); } I get the error "divs[i].sparkline" is not a function. But if I do this divs.sparkline([1,2,3,4]); its fine all the divs get the linegraph but with the same data. Does anyone have any suggestions but how to use sparkline when iterating over divs?   I am trying to convert a void pointer to an array of classes in a callback function that only supports a void pointer as a means of passing paramaters to the callback. class person { std::string name, age; }; void callback (void *val) { for (int i = 0; i < 9; i++) { std::cout << (person [])val[i].name; } } int main() { person p[10]; callback((void*)p); } My goal is to be able to pass an array of the class person to the callback which then prints out the data such as their name and age. However, the compile does not like what I am doing and complains that error: request for member 'name' in 'val', which is of non-class type 'void*' How can I go about doing this?

When a user clicks on any of the submits, I need to pass back its corresponding @car.CarType for that specific hyperlink Not sure how to go about this. My action method expects a @car.CarType for that specific car hyperlink to be sent to it

  I have an application where a user can vote on reviews. They can vote up or down. Now when there's a listing of reviews, I have a problem targeting the review the user voted on. I'm using a respon_to block in my rails controller and responding with js. So for instance, I have a vote_up method, and a vote_up.js.erb template. in that template, I have the following: var id = $('article.comment').attr('id').split('_')[1]; alert("id: " + id); $('.votecomment_' + id).find('.score').html("<%= @review2.vote_total %>"); I'm just alerting the id. The problem is that the id always returns the value of the first review found on the page. How can I pass the context aka this, to javascript, so I can figure out which review to target?

  Hey, I've been writing a networking server for a while now in C++ and have come to the stage to start looking for a way to properly and easily handle all packets. I am so far that I can figure out what kind of packet it is, but now I need to figure out how to get the needed data to the handler functions. I had the following in mind: Have a map of function pointers with the opcode as key and the function pointer as value Have all these functions have 2 arguments, packet and ObjectAccessor ObjectAccessor class contains various functions to fetch various items such as users and alike Perhaps pass the user's guid too so we can fetch it from the objectaccessor I'd like to know the various implementations others have come up with, so please comment on this idea and reply with your own implementations. • "Method name expected" error when trying add a handler method to a delegate - C#

  I keep getting the error "Method name expected" when trying add the a method to a delegate. I have a delegate which is invoked when ever my game ends. The function I'm trying to add to the delegate stops a countdown from flashing (the method is in a static class). I've searched about and I'm still unsure why its not working. Here is the line causing the error: LivesManager.gameEnded += new LivesManager.EndGame(CountdownManager.DisableFlashTimer(this)); The this passes the current form to the method so it can disable the timer flash on the form. I have added methods from static classes to the same delegate before and it works fine, the only difference is that I'm passing the form as a paramater and then it doesn't like it. Is there any way to pass the form to the method without the error? Thanks in advance :)

  I'm going to pass a function to another function which should operate with the passed function. For example: handler(fun1("foo",2)) handler(fun2(1e-10)) The handler is something like calling the passed function many times. I'm going to bind handler, fun1, fun2 to C-functions. fun1 and fun2 are going to return some user data with a pointer to some cpp-class so that I can further recover which function was it. The problem now is that fun1 and fun2 are going to be called before passed to handler. But I don't need this, what I need is the kind of function and its parameters. However, I should be able to call fun1 and fun2 alone without handler: fun1("bar",3) fun2(1e-5) Is it possible to get the context the function is called from? While typing the question, I realized I could do following handler(fun1, "foo",2); handler(fun2, 1e-10);

  I need to calculate a whole bunch of averages on an List of Surveys. The surveys have lots of properties that are int and double valued. I am creating a business object to handle all the calculations (there are like 100) and I'd rather not code 100 different methods for finding the average for a particular property. I'd like to be able to have the UI pass a string (representing the property) and have the the business object return an average for that property. So, like... int AverageHeightInInches = MyObject.GetIntAverage("HeightInInches"); . . . Then have linq code to calculate the result. Thanks!

• ASP.NET 3.5: GetCallbackEventReference doesn't work synchronously

  I have an ASP.NET 3.5 WebForm that leverages the frameworks Page.ClientScript.GetCallbackEventReference() method and I'd like some of the calls to be synchronous. Now, the documentation says that the 5th parameter (see below) controls this. Specifically, when you pass 'false' it's supposed to be a non-asynchronous call. However, regardless if it's true or false, it still processes the call asynchronously. Page.ClientScript.GetCallbackEventReference(this, "arg", "ReceiveServerData", "context",false); Is there a work-around for this or perhaps I'm doing something wrong? • How do I link to another action in Magento whilst passing a parameter to the controller?

  I need to pass a parameter, because I would like to redirect back to the module and query string of the current page. So I can get from showdown/index?id=35 --click--- showdown/vote?id=1 showdown/vote?id=1 --redirect-- showdown/index?id=35 The vote action is not seen. (The redirect method doesn't work as it takes the index.php url only and no actions, and I cannot find a helper in Magento for creating hyperlinks.) Does Magneto have a link helper for this? Example of stuff I want: <a href="<?php echo Mage::Helper->Link->($url, $array); ?> then $array or whatever variables gets sent to the controller.

• Removing words from a file

  I'm trying to take a regular text file and remove words identified in a separate file (stopwords) containing the words to be removed separated by carriage returns ("\n"). Right now I'm converting both files into lists so that the elements of each list can be compared. I got this function to work, but it doesn't remove all of the words I have specified in the stopwords file. In the example underneath I use self.__class__.__name__, but of course this returns the name of the class of which self is an instance and not class that contains the test() method code. b.test() will print 'B' while I would like to get 'A'.   Hello! My problem can be described the following way: I have some data which actually is an array and could be represented as char* data with some size I also have some legacy code (function) that takes some abstract std::istream object as a param and uses that stream to retrieve data to operate. So, my question is the following - what would be the easy way to map my data to some std::istream object so that I can pass it to my function? I thought about creating a std::stringstream object from my data, but that means copying and (as I assume) isn't the best solution. Any ideas how this could be done so that my std::istream operates on the data directly? Thank you.

  Hello, I have a page that uses multiple dialogs for different things. Some dialogs may have buttons that others do not while other may need to be a different height than another... All of them have a set of params that will not change. My question, can I have a default like: $('.someElement').dialog({ width: 999, show: 'slide', hide: 'slide', ETC: 'some other option' }); and use it for all of my dialogs, then pass buttons or height to it dynamically when I open a dialog? It just seems wrong to have something like the above for every dialog I need... Thanks!

• Cannot convert []string to []interface {}

  I'm writing some code, and I need it to catch the arguments and pass them through fmt.Println (I want its default behaviour, to write arguments separated by spaces and followed by a newline). However it takes []interface {} but flag.Args() returns a []string. Here's the code example package main import ( "fmt" "flag" ) func main() { flag.Parse() fmt.Println(flag.Args()...) } This returns the following error: ./example.go:10: cannot use args (type []string) as type []interface {} in function argument Is this a bug? Shouldn't fmt.Println take any array? By the way, I've also tried to do this: var args = []interface{}(flag.Args()) but I get the following error: cannot convert flag.Args() (type []string) to type []interface {} Is there a "Go" way to workaround this?
