Hibernate database connection configuration

We have 2 different server environments using the same Hibernate configuration. One server has JNDI support for datasource, but the other does not. Currently the Hibernate configuration is configured to use JNDI, which is causing problem on the server that does not support JNDI. I have also tried to put the direct JDBC configuration together with JNDI configuration into the configuration file, but it looks like hibernate always favors JNDI over direct JDBC configuration if both exist. My question is, will it be the same if both JNDI and connection_provider configuration both exists? Will Hibernate still use JNDI over connection_provider? Or is there any way to change the precedence of the database connection property? I do not have access to the server all the time, so I thought I do ask the question before my window of the sever time. Thanks in advance.

Stealing the contents of another application's tree view

I have an application with a very large TreeView control in Java. I want to get the contents of the tree control in a list (just strings not a JList) of XPath-like elements of leaves only. Here's an example root |-Item1 |-Item1.1 |-Item1.1.1 (leaf) |-Item1.2 (leaf) |-Item2 |-Item2.1 (leaf) Would output: /Item1/Item1.1/Item1.1.1 /Item1/Item1.2 /Item2/Item2.1 I don't have any source code or anything handy like that. Is there I tool I can use to dig into the Window item itself and pull out this data? I don't mind if there are a few post-processing steps because typing it in by hand is my only other option.

I would like to have a style defined if a cookie is present. i must create something like dictionary in my site, but there is one problem, i don't imagine ho to solve. the client wants the following: in the CMS he must be able to write some specification to some words or even sentences, and after it, in the site, onmouseover() of that words, i must show it's specification in popup window. for example, in the cms he writes "hello word" - "specification of hello world", and then, in the site, if i have the text many many words here hello world and another words... onmouseover of "hello world" i must show "specification of hello world". the problem, that i don't know how to solve, is how to write the functions on the text content? could you give me an idea... OpenGL and layouts

I'm using OpenGL to render a game view in my android application. The game is turn based and I wish to add some buttons to the interface. I'd prefer to use standard Android widgets, structured in an XML-generated layout (or, if I have to, a hardcoded layout) and put the OpenGL view in its own window as part of that layout. So in regards to this, I have 3 questions: 1: Is such a thing possible? I've done a few half-hearted tries, but have had no luck so far. 2: Is such a thing advisable? Does it carry a significant performance penalty, for example, over using OpenGL-based homebrew widgetry? 3: Is it possible to pass particular arguments to instances created in XML layouts? For example, my current OpenGL view has three arguments in its constructor; is it somehow possible for me to invoke that particular constructor with particular parameters when it's part of a layout?

Visual Studio 2008 Unresponsive When Opening JavaScript Files

I'm starting a new ASP.NET project that I'm trying to use some jQuery with, but whenever I try to open .js file (blank or containing a few lines of javascript) in Visual Studio, it often hangs; showing the .js filename in a new tab, but the actual text editor window showing whatever was drawn to the screen before opening the .js file. Eventually, after closing and re-opening, it will open in the text editor, but the font is always something like 10pt Arial. Even after changing this in VS options, the next re-launch of Visual Studio yields the same results. Has anyone else experienced hang, unresponsiveness, wonkiness from Visual Studio with JavaScript files?

Why can I not send more than one request?

jquery animating different img widths

Hi there, I've been searching for an answer for a long time with no avail, so it's time to ask. I'm trying to use .animate() to change the size of an image once clicked. The first state of the image would be a thumbnail size, which would animate to the image's original size, then to a thumbnail again. The problem is, not all the images have the same "original" size so I need a way to tell one generic function to switch to the current image's original size. This is my current code which loads on $(window).load: $('img[class=resize]').click(function (){ if ($(this).width() != 150) { $(this).animate({width: '150px'}, 400); } else { $(this).animate({width: ''}, 400); } }); Now this obviously doesn't work the way I want it, because .animate() thinks when I say width: '' I want to make the width = 0. Any suggestions how I should go about this?

How to stop C# compile on first error in VS 2010 (VS 2008 macros don't work)!

At work we have a C# solution with over 80 projects. Is it possible in VS 2010 to automatically stop compilation as soon as an error is encountered rather than the default behaviour which is to continue as far as possible and display a list of errors in the error window? I'm happy for it to stop either as soon as an error is encountered (file-level) or as soon as a project fails to build (project-level). I'd also note that in VS 2008 we used macros similar to some of the answers below but they don't work in VS 2010 (at least I couldn't get them to as the environment events don't seem to fire in VS 2010).

I have a databound Listbox bound to a generic list as follows (Provider is a very simple class that just includes a single property (Name). ProviderList = new List<Provider>(); //Populate list Providers.ItemsSource = ProviderList; I can save the selected item with no problem but I can't manage to set the selected item from code afterwards. I am trying to do so as follows: int x = Providers.Items.IndexOf((Provider)_Settings["provider"]); However IndexOf() is always returning -1. If I inspect both Providers.Items[1] and _Setting["provider"] at runtime using the immediate window they both return {StoreRetrieveData.Provider} Name: "Greenflag" Am I doing something wrong (well clearly I am)?

iPhone programming guideline : List / detail / modify

Hello, I have a program that displays a list (a TableView). When the user clicks an item, it's detail is shown. On the detail view, the user can ask to modify it so a modify window is shown. Here, the user can ask to delete the item. I would like at this time return to the list with the item deleted from the list and from the data source. There may be thousands of methods to do this, but I wonder which is the best / good one. Could you help me, and/or give me a good reference to read about this ? Thank you.

Let's say you have an MVVM CRM application. You have a number of customer objects in memory, through a repository. What would be the appropriate place to handle tasks that aren't associated with traditional MVVM tasks from a GUI? For example, let's say every few minutes you want to check to see if their address is valid and pop up a notification if it is not. Or you want to send out an hourly e-mail update. Or you want a window to pop up to remind you to call a customer at a specific time. Where does this logic go? It's not GUI/action-oriented, and it's not logic that would be appropriate for a repository, I think.

If I use a header redirect to a new location in the page (say half way down, I jump to #halfway after processing a php script using header("somepage.php#halfway") the div container which is handled by this script won't jump down until the page is scrolled in either direction. I know there is a solution to this, I just don't know what.

I got a paint function that works using a Cairo context and the end result should be a GtkImage (without intermediate image creation). I tried to use the gdk_cairo_create function but this code: ... "Use windows xp style dpi scaling" disables automatic auto-hide of taskbar on W7. Workaround?

We noticed that on W7 with DPI set to 125% or to 100% with ("Use windows xp style dpi scaling") turned off, our fullscreen mode (which sets the client rect of our window = desktop rect of the main monitor) no longer hides the task bar like it does for other settings. (The setting can be found in the Control Panel\Appearance and Personalization\Display section after clicking on the "Set custom text size (DPI)" link) I found the following interesting article: http://www.mathies.com/weblog/?p=908 So I set out to try to work around the bug in other means than manually hiding/restoring the taskbar visibility but so far I've failed and currently believe it's a bug in W7 (and possibly vista). The following applications also fail to work properly in fullscreen mode (the taskbar is still visible): * Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 * Microsoft Word 2007 * Adobe Reader 9.1.3 These apps work (probably by hiding the task bar through the WIN32 API): * Powerpoint Slide Show I also tried creating a brand new MFC-based app and use its "SetFullScreenMode()" functionality but it fails in the same way as all other apps on the list. Additionally - if somehow, the answer was yes, is it possible to react for change of active window / application react just as if it was Event, or bind to it custom event (e.g. Event.SystemActiveAppChange)? EDIT: Due to probable missunderstanding, I mean local applications - on your win/mac/linux machine - I would like to (in process of learning of language) track what apps I use the most, make a little graph maybe? How can I implement lazy loading on a page with 500+ images?

I basically have a booking engine unit results page which must show 40 units and per each unit there's 1 large image of the first thumbnail and an X number of accompanying thumbnail images. I've been using the jquery lazy load plugin, but it's not thorough enough ( I'm invoking it on DOM Ready ), plus it doesn't really work in IE ( 50% of the clients use IE so it's a big issue ). What I think I really need to do is not really spit out the image but a fake element such as a span, and possibly modify my code such that if the user views the span, render it into an image element. <span src="/images/foo.gif"> The booking engine relies on JS so I think I might be forced to just rely on ajaxifying all the thumbnails and have event handlers on window scroll, etc in order for the page to be "usable" and load at an average time ( 2-3 seconds instead of 5-30s on high speed DSL/Cable ). I'd appreciate any examples or ideas.

Properties.Settings.Default.Default.Save() does not work

Everytime I run the application, it says "No settings stored !". It's scope is user.

Floating Menu CSS/Javascript issues

I'm new to all this so thanks for being patient. Ok so I'm building a site with a Floating Javascript menu. The original code is from: Jtricks Absolute Floating Menu Here's the issue: When viewing the site in a mobile browser, zooming in initially caused the floating javascript menu to leave the far left of the page and cover content on the page. I fixed this by locking it into a fixed width div on the left side of the page. Now the issue I have is, I don't want the fancy animation of the javascript. A simple CSS script for a fixed window is fine. The only issue is, everything I've tried has done the same "free floating" thing when zoomed in on mobile browsers and I can't seem to find a fix. Anyone have any ideas?
