• Interim Patches for CVE-2011-4313 released through MOS

  As reported on the article on the Sun Security Blog, interim patches are available for Solaris 8,9 and 10 directly from MOS without the need to log a Service Request. There is also Interim Relief available for Solaris 11, but at this point in time that will still require a Service Request. As seen from running "named -V", these patches implement the same fix as ISC by taking Bind to the version:BIND 9.6-ESV-R5-P1.

• Google Sync brings back Login Keyring from previous distro: How to remove?

  I previously had Ubuntu 12.04 and had my Login Keyring set to a password that I don't remember and am not able to guess. I changed my Linux version to Mint 15 Cinnamon recently, but everytime I sync my Google account with my browser, the Login Keyring keeps coming back. I tried the /Preferences/Password method but there is no file as such which is created. Also, .gnome2 folder doesn't have any keyring file. How can I make the box go away for all?

• New Date for Implementation of Sun Hands-On Course Requirement

  As announced on the Oracle Certification website, Java Architect, Java Developer, Solaris System Administrator and Solaris Security Administrator certification tracks will include a new mandatory course attendance requirement. Because of unforeseen disaster and subsequent recovery efforts underway in Japan, Oracle has extended the start date of this new requirement to October 1, 2011. Candidates may earn their certifications using the current track requirements (found on the Oracle Certification website) through September 30, 2011.

  Since IE8 is such a backward browser, I was wondering if there are any web-sites on the Internet that just don't support IE altogether (and block it via conditional comments, for instance)? I remember stumbling upon web-sites that block Firefox in the past (like ~2004). The justification of blocking IE is (obviously): You don't want to deal with IE bugs, and you don't want to have to maintain IE-specific hack and workarounds.

I downloaded the client.ovpn and I can connect to the server via the command line: openvpn --script-security 2 --config client.ovpn How can I add the connection to the network manager?   If considering to develop a web browser based game with multiple people and it's an RPG, click to move would probably be the only choice in movement right? Because if you were to use WASD and then ajax to the server every second that a player held on to the WASD key, that'd be pretty resource intensive if the server had to calculate the position and return the map image, assuming the next few screens are already buffered right? or is there a way to implement a WASD style and still have server side do all the calculations. (server side calculations to avoid cheating)
