I've tried converting a PEM-encoded key to DER format, and it appears the password is stripped regardless of the -passout argument.
Example:
openssl rsa -in tmp.pem -outform DER -out tmp.der -passin pass:foo -passout pass:bar -des3
The resulting key appears no longer password-protected, so I am assuming that DER format does not support a password - is that correct?
What alternative way is there to store this in a compact, binary form, and keep the password-protection?
Pretty much all the text that I have read on enabling Hindi (Complex Text Rendering) involve enabling it via Regional Settings Languages Install files for complex script support and left to right languages (including Thai).
However, I am able to read Wikipedia without having this feature enabled. Is this normal or is this an anomaly with my Win XP SP1 CD?
Although GraphicsMagick is a fork of ImageMagick, there are dissimilarities between the two, namely in the support of image stacking in ImageMagick, but not in GraphicsMagick. Taken from the ImageMagick documentation:
convert wand.gif \( wizard.gif -rotate 30 \) +append images.gif
In this example, the rotate command is applied only to the wizard.gif resource. My question is: Is there an equivalent to image stacking in GraphicsMagick?
Does Windows 8 support upgrading from a clean install. For example, buying the upgrade key and entering it on a clear install?
Or is it functionally necissary to have the version you are upgrading from installed on the computer.
The former was the case with Windows 7, but I recal Windows 2000 needed the an installed copy before an update would proceed.
I currently have a linux setup and I have the liceanse for Windows 7, but I don't want to have to downoad two 4 GB isos.
Im running ubuntu. I just tried to play supertux but my LCD didnt support the resolution and all i got was a blank screen and music playing. I tried to close it and go back to the desktop by pressing ctrl + z but that didnt work so i had to hard reset my computer!
In future what should i press when this happens?
I'm a CS uni student in a country with limited bandwidth, and I find that I download files (particularly install files) for reuse\reinstallation\giving to my friends.. I've kept these files in different folders, and now find it extremely hard to find them, and keeping track of obselete files (the almost weekly releases of iTunes versions, or latest 7zip release or the .Net framework installers). What I would like to find is a file manager that could support tags, so instead of hierachical folders, i could find\view files according to their tags...
Consider that there are two server load balancers working in the tcp proxy mode (e.g., for L7 load balancing). Is it possible to synchronize their states in real time so that they can be a backup for each other? in case that one is down, the other still has all necessary states to uninterruptedly support all existing TCP connections.
I understand that this is hard, but I am wondering whether any free/commercial LB already supports this feature.
Thank you!
I have a hosting company, I am using resellerpanel.com to buy domain and hosting for my clients, but I want to switch to cPanel, resellerpanel offers from 17.50$/M and hostgator.com offers 19.96$/M, I don't care about money all I care about services, live support and up time.
Note: some of my clients request email only not hosting can I limit access to email mananger or hosting only with cPanel?
Thanks.
I'm based in the UK. I'd like to watch iplayer, 4od, youtube etc on my TV. I've looked at the Roku box, but as far as I can gather this doesn't support youtube or 4od. I don't have cable in my area and don't want to go with Sky.
What options do I have, if any?
UPDATE
My TV has an HDMI connection.
If a netbook is the best or only way to do this, which one would you recommend for connecting to my TV?
Please no spamming or aiming for cheap money.
The registrar needs to have a good ui, work with no downtime, be easy and flexible to use, support easy changing/adding of CNAME fields, MX records, and work well with outside host DNS.
I will be buying a 2TB hard drive soon, and would like to use it as media storage. I would like to be able to read/write from both Windows (version 7, 64bit) and Ubuntu Linux, and I need support for files greater than 4GB in size (so I think this rules out FAT32).
I'm using IFS drives at the moment to access my linux ext4 partitions, and I find it unstable. Does this mean NTFS? Is there something else I'm missing?
Is there a way, using Windows GPO, to set up a list of "default" mapped drives that can be applied to a group of users?
I runs small network and would like to make sure that certain groups of users (like Sales or Support) have the same network shares mapped to the same drive letters irrespective of which PC they log onto.
This would make the setup of new users easier and allow the centralised administration of the network locations shared.
Any links to examples and/or step-by-step guides would be greatly appreciated.
I'm using sharepoint server 2007 SP2 SQL2000 SP4.
When I perform search I get no results.
In the past I used hot fix http://support.microsoft.com/kb/941422 which resolved this issue
but I can't use it now after upgrading to SP2.
Any ideas how to fix it?
Thanks

I'm currently evaluating whether to use RightScale to manage a production environment in EC2. I intend to use Puppet for configuration management either way (the declarative approach seems far better than running scripts), am running a somewhat nonstandard stack (e.g. MongoDB), and am uncertain about how much value RightScale would add relative to Puppet + Amazon's auto-scaling + another hosted monitoring system. Those who use RightScale, what features do you find important? Is its auto-scaling support (including keeping single instances running) more powerful than Amazon's?
I'd like my .NET app to use a proxy which i know how to do except .net doesnt support sock4a/sock5. I know how to setup my app but
How do i setup socat to at as a TCP proxy on part 1234 and use the sock5 server at 127.0.0.1:5678?
It must forward all TCP connect. I had luck with privoxy earlier but that only supports http connections
PS: I am on windows but the commands should be the same as linux
I'm testing out a Content management system on my computer and have emailed their support for a problem regarding login.. They've replied back and asked if my CMS is behind a portal or proxy. I feel kind of stupid for not knowing this, but how do I find out? Everything is local (eg, hosted on my computer, etc).
Thanks in advance!
First of all which graphics cards support 3 monitors?
Is it possible to buy a graphics card which has 2 outputs and use the onboard (motherboard) graphics output for the third monitor?
(as far as I know you have to toggle between onboard or external graphics usage in the BIOS)
Hi,
I have a new HP dv7t laptop. Can I find out that is the dpi that this laptop can support so that I can set my ubuntu setting (in appearance according)? I think I get the resolution working after I install a properarity driver for the Nvdia graphic card.
Thank you.
Hello,
i am looking for a product that could integrate with SRM (we support following HW vendors: NetApp, EMC, Hitachi, Eternus and HP) and allow automation of failover from primary to disaster triggered by some sort of event on primary site.
Is there any such product
Thanks in advance,
B.
I need some backup system that will snapshot my stuff to a dedicated external drive, that will work with both OSX and Linux (Windows support nice but not essential).
Where should I look?
Has anyone successfully installed Windows 7 on this thing? Toshiba apparently doesn't support it, and I'm having trouble finding a working display driver.
The limit on SATA cable length is 1m, whereas the limit on SAS cable length is 10m. When using a backplane which advertises support for SAS and SATA, with a SAS RAID controller and one SATA drive, will the controller use the SAS PHY scheme, allowing for the 10m cable length maximum (to accommodate the long backplane), or will it use the SATA one and allow for only the SATA cable length maximum of 1m?
