• How to translate formulas into form of natural language?

  I am recently working on a project aiming at evaluating whether an android app crashes or not. The evaluation process is 1.Collect the logs(which record the execution process of an app). 2.Generate formulas to predict the result (formulas is generated by GP) 3.Evaluate the logs by formulas Now I can produce formulas, but for convenience for users, I want to translate formulas into form of natural language and tell users why crash happened.(I think it looks like "inverse natural language processing".) To explain the idea more clearly, imagine you got a formula like this: 155 - count(onKeyDown) >= 148 It's obvious that if count(onKeyDown) 7, the result of "155 - count(onKeyDown) = 148" is false, so the log contains more than 7 onKeyDown event would be predicted "Failed". I want to show users that if onKeyDown event appears more than 7 times(155-148=7), this app will crash. However, the real formula is much more complicated, such as: (< !( ( SUM( {Att[17]}, Event[5]) <= MAX( {Att[7]}, Att[0] >= Att[11]) OR SUM( {Att[17]}, Event[5]) > MIN( {Att[12]}, 734 > Att[19]) ) OR count(Event[5]) != 1 ) > (< count(Att[4] = Att[3]) >= count(702 != Att[8]) + 348 / SUM( {Att[13]}, 641 < Att[12]) mod 587 - SUM( {Att[13]}, Att[10] < Att[15]) mod MAX( {Att[13]}, Event[2]) + 384 > count(Event[10]) != 1)) I tried to implement this function by C++, but it's quite difficult, here's the snippet of code I am working right now. • Cutting users off in Windows console sessions

  I'm currently working in a company where many of us log onto hosts/servers under Windows Server 2008 via console session. If one person is logged on and another tries it causes the person who was logged on first (and maybe doing something important) to be cut off. Is there such a thing as an application for such events where before logging on people can see if any other IP address is controlling the host/server? Also, if the person on the console session had the ability to leave a note for anybody thinking of taking over the session of when they are finished etc.. I have many other ideas for such things but could someone tell me if such an application exists?

• Redirect to ADFS login

  My company has switched to Office 365 and we like it, but we would really like for the ADFS single sign on to be more simplified. We have to go to login.microsoftonline.com then type in the username, then you have to click the link that appears at the bottom. Then you have to type in your username again and password. So we have come up with the idea that we could just redirect everyone to this page, but after lots of research into this, it seems like it's not possible to do a DNS redirect to a path. Does anyone know any other type of redirect that we could try? I'm thinking about trying to see if I can have a DNS entry go to our TMG and then have the TMG redirect to a path. But I'm not sure how the ADFS server knows where to go after that, so it might just log us in and not go anywhere. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

  Hi, I just began working at this new job and I have to config a new host for stats with awstats. I once used awstats on my own server, no biggie. Now, I'm on a multi-sites server with the acces_log files nicely splitted. I copied a awstats.conf file from one of the sites that already has (working) stats. I changed the LogFile and SiteDomain values as mentioned from http://awstats.sourceforge.net/docs/awstats_setup.html#BUILD_UPDATE, saved the conf and ran the commands perl awstats.pl -config=mysite -update and perl awstats.pl -config=mysite -output -staticlinks awstats.mysite.html (yes I changed it with my infos...) PROBLEM IS : whenever I try to access the html file or the dynamic page (with the config option on awstats.pl like my working site does), I get the stats of the MAIN site from access.log itself (and not access_log-mysite) from what it says at the top of the page and from the hostname on the left tab (stats for mysite.com)... what did I do wrong? There's no errors from what I see... Thanks a lot for any help

• How can I set an account lockout policy for the administrator account on rdp?

  I'm following this page on security tips for RDP (for my online server): http://www.mobydisk.com/techres/securing_remote_desktop.html Now I don't have a special user account for RDP access. Just the administrator can log on. However, I want to make sure that someone can't brute force the password. I've set the 'account lockout policy' to 3 attempts and a retry after 3 minutes. However, when I connect back with RDP I can still try 5 times before RDP breaks the connection. I can then immediately reconnect and try 5 more times. Any ideas if there is a lockout policy which also holds true fro the admin?

• Tomcat 6.0 service does not start: java/lang/NoClassDefFoundError

  I installed Tomcat on my Windows XP PC. But I can't get it to start. I start the service and I see the progress bar, but it fails. I installed the Java Runtime Environment Version 6 and created JRE_HOME Environment variable. (C:\Program Files\Java\jre6) Any ideas? Thanks. • Dovecot ignoring maximum number of IMAP connections

  I have a single mailbox mail server running Dovecot/Postfix and I have two IMAP clients, Thunderbird on the PC and K9 on Android. I keep on receiving this error in my logs even after I change the 'mail_max_userip_connections' variable to 50. puppet dovecot: imap-login: Maximum number of connections from user+IP exceeded (mail_max_userip_connections=10): user=<[email protected]>, method=PLAIN, rip=62.242.90.2, lip=198.29.31.229, TLS Why does it say that it is set to 10 in the log? Is that hardcoded? grep -r "mail_max_userip_connections" /etc/dovecot /etc/dovecot/conf.d/20-managesieve.conf: #mail_max_userip_connections = 10 /etc/dovecot/conf.d/20-pop3.conf: #mail_max_userip_connections = 3 /etc/dovecot/conf.d/20-imap.conf: mail_max_userip_connections = 50 I've restarted dovecot after making the changes but this error is still logged and I can't access the mailbox. • Why does Ubuntu gets stuck on the loading screen?

  I've been experiencing many problem lately since I fresh installed Ubuntu 12.04 LTS on my SONY VAIO VPCEH with Windows 7 previously installed. Sometimes when I try to boot Ubuntu, it gets stuck at loading screen. There seems to be some problem with driver (as far I can judge). Following is the log generated, when I press Esc during the boot (before the problem occurs): ... * Stopping System V initialization compatibility [ok] * Starting System V runlevel compatibility [ok] * Starting crash report submission daemon [ok] * Starting automatic crash report generation [ok] ... ... * Starting LightDM Display Manager [ok] Nothing works after that, no Esc, etc, except restart. Also I've observed the following: Inactivity of Hard-drive (Led doesn't glows). Flashing, or blinking, of Caps-lock and Scroll-lock On restart, Ubuntu seem to load successfully. However, the loading screen has somewhat basic graphics. This problem started after I installed Additional drivers: NVIDIA accelerated graphics driver Also, most of the times Ubuntu loads without any problem. However, it is annoying to restart everytime it fails. So my question is: Why this happens and what is the solution?

• Group policy preventing XenApp from creating start menu menus

  I have a citrix Xenapp server that has some apps installed. The are placed in a folder and set to populate the start menu. The problem is when I log on with a user from a particular OU I am unable to get the start menu inserted from xenapp. It is quite a restrictive group policy but does anyone know the setting for preventing users from modifying the start menu. I have tried "Prevent changes to Taskbar and Start Menu Settings" but this didnt work. Any ideas would be great. I know it isnt permissions because I have another user that has the same permissions assigned to them, the only difference is that one user gets the restrictive group policy and the other doesnt. • OpenVPN stopped working, what could have happened?

  I have Openvpn, and it worked great when I used it on PC (Windows 8), then I copied all files (Certificates and config) to an Android 4 phone to use them. Now, Openvpn works on the phone, but not the PC. Specifically, when I open Google I get: The server at www.google.com can't be found, because the DNS lookup failed, but the VPN seems to be connected. I have a simple question, could the problem be because I copied the same files? • Sort algorithms that work on large amount of data

  I am looking for sorting algorithms that can work on a large amount of data, i.e. that can work even when the whole data set cannot be held in main memory at once. The only candidate that I have found up to now is merge sort: you can implement the algorithm in such a way that it scans your data set at each merge without holding all the data in main memory at once. The variation of merge sort I have in mind is described in this article in section Use with tape drives. I think this is a good solution (with complexity O(n x log(n)) but I am curious to know if there are other (possibly faster) sorting algorithms that can work on large data sets that do not fit in main memory. EDIT Here are some more details, as required by the answers: The data needs to be sorted periodically, e.g. once in a month. I do not need to insert a few records and have the data sorted incrementally. My example text file is about 1 GB UTF-8 text, but I wanted to solve the problem in general, even if the file were, say, 20 GB. It is not in a database and, due to other constraints, it cannot be. The data is dumped by others as a text file, I have my own code to read this text file. The format of the data is a text file: new line characters are record separators. One possible improvement I had in mind was to split the file into files that are small enough to be sorted in memory, and finally merge all these files using the algorithm I have described above.

• Cannot install SQL Server (2012) PowerPivot for SharePoint, always fails Sharepoint Version check

  Trying to install a fresh install of Sharepoint 2010 (w/ SP1) and SQL Server 2012 PowerPivot for Sharepoint. The prerequisites clearly show that Sharepoint 2010 SP1 is needed, which we have installed. However after when trying to install the SQL Server portion we consistently fail the rule SharePoint version requirement for PowerPivot for SharePoint' validation in theSQL Server` install process. Here is the process we are following: 1. install Sharepoint 2010 2. install Sharepoint 2010 SP1 3. install SQL Server 2012 PowerPivot for SharePoint Here is a screen shot of the error and the log file error. We are completely stuck at this point, anyone run into this before?

• Postgresql spawning a ridiculous number of postmaster processes

  For some reason postgres is spawning 700 postmaster processes for handling database requests and the postgres log file if full of 'unexpected EOF on client connection', 'incomplete startup packet' and 'sorry, too many clients already'. netstat tells me that all the open connections are local and I'm pretty sure are coming from postgres internally. This particular instance has been running just fine for the last 230 days or so and nothing has changed configuration wise. Any thoughts on where I should be looking to try and resolve this issue? This is my first time diagnosing a problem like this so if there is any steps I can take to help narrow down the cause that would be helpful as well.

• Ubuntu 9.10 X Stuck in restart loop - I think...

  Trying out Ubuntu, installation went fine - upgraded to the proprietary nVidia drivers but on restart I get a login prompt and the screen is flashing really fast almost as if Xserver is trying to start and failing, I can type when the screen isn't in a "flash" as it were and it's so fast and random it's hard to even type a login name without it missing some characters - this makes typing a password (i.e. not being able to see which characters made it or not) very hard. I can log back into the live cd and alter my settings - but I can't even find out how to stop X stop starting on boot; Looks like they've moved everything around :-p I'd like to: Stop X from crashing and going insane (if it is actually Xserver) Know how to stop X from starting on bootup, Looks like interactive boot is also off by default now Update: A temporary work around seems to be enabling ssh and just connecting to the box over the network - ssh seems to work fine :-p Cheers, Chris

• Windows Server 2008R2 IIS7.5, Requests getting 401 status

  We have a web site running in windows server 2008r2 iis7.5 and we are seeing several errors reported from our global error handler saying that "Request Timed Out". I matched up one to the IIS log file and see the request took 135116 (presumably milliseconds) had an sc-status of 401 an sc-sub0status of 0 and an sc-win32-status of 64. 2 requests failed in these way but lots of surrounding requests (1979 successful requests vs 2 fails) for the same user went through perfectly fine- with the same cs-username which makes a 401 seem a little odd. The target of the requests is an ASP.Net web service's web method called by the .net client library- it's called a lot of times per user (3 times per second) to keep a page updated. We're getting some users reportng seeing a freezing effect and I think this may be the cause, any ideas? Peter

  I'm a novice at spreadsheets, so I hope you'll forgive me if I'm asking a super obvious question. Is it possible to use tags in Excel/Google Spreadsheet? I'm creating a spreadsheet to log all the articles and books I'm reading. Say I'm reading "I, Claudius". I want to give it these tags: history, fiction, biography, disability, politics, drama. Then, if I want to display all the articles/books tagged with "politics", I can maybe search/display/pivot with that tag. Maybe preferably, the tags should all be in one cell with each word separated by a comma. If each word were in a cell of its own, it would make the table really messy, I think. I am open to other labelling solutions too. Thanks!

When I log into the OMSA web interface I can't see anything Also, omreport tells me nothing; root@box:~# omreport storage controller No controllers found I assume these two will use the same source of information so what ever is wrong will fix them both. I set up OMSA as per these instructions. Also I have compiled MegaCLI (as this is a PowerEdge 2950 with a Perc 6/i controller) and I have used that to update the RAID firmware, so that works, but the Dell tools aren't.   I'm running Windows XP x64 SP2. I have a Windows batch file that with some Robocopy commands that I want to run on schedule. I created a scheduled task for it, running as a dedicated user (not the user I'm logged on as), but it simply did not run. I could see successful logon events in the security log, so it got that far, but the commands in the batch file definitely weren't getting executed. After reading through all of http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/winservermanager/thread/d47d116e-10b9-44f0-9a30-7406c86c2fbe/ I tried making the target user account an Administrator and that fixed it - the batch file ran just fine. Nothing else seemed to work. The thing is, I want it to run under a low-privileged account. Does anyone know how can I get a batch file to run on schedule as a non-Administrator?

When remotely logged in, they can disconnect the wireless connection, perform a few tests, and then reconnect the wireless connection. In general, the LAN connection would just be used for the remote login, the wireless connection would be used for performing tests including using a web browser to test certain web sites, etc. How can we successfully configure the server to support 2 network connections like this?
