• Dynamically writing page titles and active classes with php

  For some time now I've been using the following code to dynamically write in html page titles and add an active class to menu items. • Setup symbolic link where users can access it with FTP

  I have a folder on a server where a client of mine has a bunch of folders that they upload images and what not for a site, I do a symbolic link to those folders to the root of the website. This way I can give them ftp access to upload whatever they need without having access to the root level of the website. I have another folder that I can't setup as a symbolic link to their folder, which has images they need to upload to. I know that if I create a symbolic link the other way around where the sym link is in their folder, they can't access it through FTP. There has to be a way without creating two separate FTP accounts and give a user the ability to upload to a different directory that is outside of their home directory. I see that it is ftp specific and that there are some settings that can be changed but I haven't seen any clear cut answers for the best way to handle this.

• C# uploading files to IIS server with FTP

  I'm trying to upload an website to an online server programmaticly via C# and using FTP. example C:\website\wwwroot to "ftp://ftp.host.com/website/wwwroot" When I do this, the wesbite says "You do not have permission to view this directory or page." And if I just replaced the webconfig via FileZilla manually , the site starts working. I'm using the edtftp library for .NET Any ideas of whats going on ?

It is not clear on websites I have consulted (Microsoft TechNet and others) whether preparing Active Directory is only required on a NEW install of Exchange 2007 sp3, or if it is required when upgrading an existing Exchange 2007 install to sp3. However, the only way I found for this to work was using Internet Explorer, and setting Intranet security to a personalized "very low" configuration for being able to execute ActiveX scripts without asking. I think there is a way to automatically configure IE's settings for all users from Active Directory, but I can't find it. Any help?

  Im trying to obtain a list of users with their login time (n times if they have logged in more than once) in a particular timespan, for example between 2pm and 3pm on 10/10/2012. I've been fiddling around with powershell, but couldn't get much out of it, downloaded the PowerShell extensions from Quest, tried out some snippets, but I couldn't find something that fits my needs. My guess is to query the events on the Active Directory server but haven't been able to get a snippet that works so far.

• Pushing updates to live server... FTP isn't cutting it... a better method?

  I'm the lead developer in a team of 2. My partner has only just joined the project and despite using GIT for version control etc, we are still stuck in the dark ages when it comes to code deployment. Currently I make all site updates via FTP (this way I have control / responsibility over everything that goes live), using Filezilla. I've done this for years, but we now have some large PHP classes (300KB), and a lot of traffic. So in short, every time I upload a key class "general" for example, the site goes down until the file finishes uploading. This is only 5/6 seconds at a time, but this is increasingly unacceptable. I realise I can upload the file under a different name and then rename both files... but really there must be a better way? I've heard about rsyncing code across from another server, but I don't see how this prevents switching to the new file whilst uploading. We only have one server (for DB and Apache) but also use some cloud servers (for openx as an example).

I have setup an old computer with the intent of sharing movies/music/photos with family members not in my house.   I have an application that deploys game data files to different gaming consoles. If matching files on the users machine and the console have identical size and dates, they must not be re-deployed. On Xbox, this is easily accomplished because an XDK library used to upload files on the console allows me to set the date on the uploaded files to match the dates on the user's machine. On Ps3 however, I use an FTP service running on the console. I use WebClient.UploadFileAsync to upload files to the console. However, I cannot figure out how I can set the uploaded file's date timestamp, leaving me with only the file size to determine identical files which is unsafe. I was wondering if there was a way to set a file's date timestamp through the WebClient interface?

  Just started using Visual Studio 2010, moved over from Netbeans. I kinda liked the Netbeans upload on save functionality, which was useful in development environments when one is constantly making small changes and testing them. As soon as you saved a file, it would be synced to the FTP server. Is it possible to do this in VS? I'm pretty sure there is a way, using a macro of some sort, and having it run on every save? However I have no idea how to implement it... Maybe even a keyboard shortcut to deploy the current working file would be nice.

• Wordpress transfer to new ftp. Help, Home link doesn't work?

  Hi I've transfered my wordpress site to a new ftp server, but my home link doesn't work properly. When I click on it, it goes to http://123.456.78.8/mydomain.com and I get a page not found message. I've discovered it needs a / at the end to work. Does anyone know a way to fix this before I put it on my live site? Could it be a database or config file issue?
