  I know having DEFAULT NULLS is not a good practice but I have many optional lookup values which are FK in the system so to solve this issue here is what i am doing: I use NOT NULL for every FK / lookup valve field. I have the first row in every table which is PK id = 1 as a dummy row with just "none" in all the columns. this way I can use NOT NULL in my schema and if needed reference to the none row values which should be null. Is this a good design or any other work arounds?

  If you are familiar with Django, you know that they have a Authentication system with User model. Of course, I have many other tables that have a Foreign Key to this User model. If I want to delete this user, how do I architect a script (or through mysql itself) to delete every table that is related to this user? My only worry is that I can do this manually...but if I add a table , but I forget to add that table to my DELETE operation...then I have a row that links to a deleted, non-existing User.

I send current id to stored procedure and use this query: -- previous select top 1 id from table where id < @currentId order by id desc -- next select top 1 id from table where id < @currentId order by id asc The problem is when I send currentId which is the last id in the table and want to select next row. Then is nothing selected. Same problem for previous row, when I send currentId which is first id in table Is it possible to solve this in sql without additional queries?

Does that mean that PUT and DELETE won't work if the browser does not support it, or just that PUT and DELETE can not be done natively by the user in the browser? If I can't or shouldn't use those, what do people usually do instead? Send the method as a a GET or POST parameter instead? Or?

  I have a datagridview on the Windows Form in c#. I am updating and filling the table adapter on the cell event. The problem is that When I go to lower half of the datagrid which is not visible until I scroll down, as I click any cell, the table adapter is filled and updated and the pointerpoints to the very first row. Any suggestion on how to fix it. I have a ideas to record the top row of the datagridview that is visible and set the pointer to that row. But how to do it?

  We are using PostgreSQL. My requirement is to delete unused sequences from my database. For example, if I create any table through my application, one sequence will be created, but for deleting the table we are not deleting the sequence, too. If want to create the same table another sequence is being created. Example: table: file; automatically created sequence for id coumn: file_id_seq When I delete the table file and create it with same name again, a new sequence is being created (i.e. file_id_seq1). I have accumulated a huge number of unused sequences in my application database this way. How to delete these unused sequences?

  I have a MYSQL table that looks as follows: id id_jugador id_partido team1 team2 1 2 1 5 2 2 2 2 1 1 3 1 2 0 0 I need to create a query to either INSERT new rows in the table or UPDATE the table. The condition is based on id_jugador and id_partido, meaning that if I wanted to insert id_jugador = 2 and id_partido = 1, then it should just UPDATE the existing row with the new team1 and team2 values I am sending. And dont duplicate the row. However, if I have an entry id_jugador=2 and id_partido=3, since this combination does not exist yet, it should add the new row. I read about the REPLACE INTO but it seems to be unable to check combination of UNIQUE KEYS.

  Hi all, I'm trying to figure out if there is an easy way to delete all the data in a table using the mySQL .NET API. The only slightly more tricky part to this is that in the C# code, the business logic can be run in both cases where there is, or isn't, data in teh table. So in some regards I almost need an If statement...   Hi, I'm having problems delete an unknown (orphaned) VM from an ESX 3.5 host. When I attempt to right click the VM I get the following error "Object reference not set to an instance of an object". Steps taken so far. 1. Removed the host from the cluster 2. Removed the host from vCenter 3. Rebooted the host 4. Edited the file vmInventory.xml & cleared the file 5. Restarted services - mgmt-vmware restart Can anyone think of anything else that I can do to resolve this issue? Thanks guys.

  I run Opera Mobile 10.1 on Android. My device is rooted. How can I clear the history and cache of the browser via shell? As su, removing /data/data/com.opera.browser/opera/profiles/smartphone/cookies4.dat /data/data/com.opera.browser/opera/profiles/smartphone/cache /data/data/com.opera.browser/opera/profiles/smartphone/cacheO and a /system/xbin/busybox killall -9 com.opera.browser afterwards doesn't seem to do the job. Afterwards, bookmarks etc. are still there. In Opera Mini I found it easy to just delete /data/data/com.opera.mini.android/cache/webviewCache /data/data/com.opera.mini.android/databases but unfortunately, Opera Mini in it's current version has a bug and doesn't work on most devices.

I believe it was created renaming the primary domain of the second account. I want to delete the addon domain from domain1.com. However when I try i get the error: Error from park wrapper: Sorry, you do not control the domain domain2.com Ive tried all the methods in other forum posts and have been unable to successfully remove the addon domain and subdomain from domain1.com.   Okay, so this is my scenario and what I want to try and do. I maintain a Red Hat email server running qmail and spamassassin. I have a domain that has well over 100 email account each with individual settings for spam scores and, whether or not to delete email incoming mail deemed spam. What I want to accomplish is to change all those email email accounts to say a more stringent spam score value, AND to enable the deletion of email immediately as it flagged as such, for EACH AND EVERY email box. In short, I want to be able to override a user's individual settings spam settings, with my own. Short of tediously going into each and every email box one by one, is there an way to do this all in one fell swoop? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! :-)

• Can't Delete Old Windows Directory

  I got a new SSD drive for my computer, and have installed Windows on this drive. This left an old Windows directory on my old normal drive. I am now attempting to delete this old Windows directory, but am getting blocked by security. If I crawl down into each subdirectory, I can manually change the ownership and access rights for each file, but if I attempt to do it from the root directory, I get a "Failed to enumerate objects in the container. Access is denied" error. I have tried logging in as local Administrator, but this had the same effect. I figure that I am missing something stupid, but I just can't determine what it is.

  I am trying to decide which database I should use for an application I'm making. I was leaning toward dynamoDB because of its scalability, but then I read in the documentation which said: there is a limit of 64 KB on the item size although it looks like MySQL has a similar restriction documented here This application will be storing a lot of data in two arrays, which could contain upwards of 10,000-100,000 strings in each. I estimate that these strings will each be somewhere around 20 characters long, so each element of the array will be around 40bytes and each array could be around 4MB. Given this predicament, what database on amazon AWS would you use; or how would you get around the limit of size per row? Thanks in advance, Logan Besecker

  I am having permission problems on my server. I use user developer to pull my git repository on the server. Then apache uses its own apache user to do write and execute code. I always have the problems when the app wants to write something in the directory (i.e: log files, and cache ...) if I execute a cron job and it uses my developer rights and wants to add something to the folders that is written by apache. My question is how to have my developer have the same write/delete access as my apache and avoid permission conflicts with each other? I am not fluent on linux command so, it would help if you could provide links or simply examples of doing so. thanks.

  I'm not entirely sure how to properly explain this, but here we go... I'm trying to create a single budgeting document that allows me to manage purchasing and reconciliation for multiple projects. I would like to create separate sheets per project and have purchased items populate on a master sheet. Using conditional formatting, I've set one of the columns to display an item's status (waiting for approval, approved, ordered, received). I would like the contents of an entire row to populate in a new sheet table once the status is set to "Received." The sheet should update descendingly. • Dreamweaver Delete Space to Word, Not Word

  There's a built in DW keyboard shortcut (Ctrl + Del) that deletes up to AND INCLUDING the first word to the right. I used to use the ColdFusion Studio app for coding and it would just remove the space UP TO the word (left the word or bracket, or whatever alone.) Any DW users know if this is a setting that can be changed? I'm really used to the old behavior and keep deleting the first word, hitting Ctrl + Z to put it back and then having to manually delete all the spaces to leave the word... • SBS 2008 Duplicate Files - what can I delete

  I'm trying to look after my company's SBS 2008 server. It keeps running out of space on the C: (OS)drive, so Exchange stops when it gets down to 4Gb free space. From what I can tell after the last time I had a consultant in to fix it, there should comfortably be about 20Gb. Running a duplicate files report gives me a huge list of duplicated files, and identifies just how much space they are hogging. But my question is, which ones can I delete to recover the space? Can I tell, from what's shown on the report, the files that are redundant and can safely be deleted?
