    I am trying to unit test my ViewModel and my SaveItem(save, CanSave) delegate command. I want to ensure that CanSave is called and returns the correct value given certain conditions. Basically, how can I invoke the delegate command from my unit test, actually it's more of an integration test. Obviously I could just test the return value of the CanSave method but I am trying to use BDD to the letter, ie. no code without a test first.

  • Uprgading a win32 VCL application to cross platform

    Delphi 2011 will allow to compile applications that will run also on MacOS. Is it realistical to think that it will be possible to "migrate to cross platform" a win32 application? Will 3rd party component vendors make their library cross platform or this is practically not possible? I use the following 3rd party components: devexpress - UI devart - DAC Reportbuilder - UI Steema/TeeChart - UI I don't expect to have a wizard that will do the job for me, I just want to understand better the details.

  • Is there any way to run "dir" directly?

    In my answer to this question, where the asker needed a fast way to get a directory listing of a folder on a network drive, I suggested using the DOS "dir" command. Unfortunately, it's a command, not a program, so you can't execute it with CreateProcess and so I had to put it in a batch file. I don't really like that solution. It feels like a hack to me. Does anyone know a way to run dir from Delphi instead of from an external batch file?

    I am developing a Delphi documents management application, so somehow I am giving the user some functionality similar to windows explorer. I would like to know if there is a way to get the preview used by windows explorer. For example windows explorer creates a small thumbnail for a pdf document for example, and displays it when the user chooses to view "big icons". Is there a way to retrieve that preview? If one wants to design database application using MVC model, where to place TDataSet components? Should they stay on form and therefore be a part of View? Or should they be encapsulated inside some Model object? If the latter how they could be bound to visual components?

I've found documentation that this can be done through CoInternetIsFeatureEnabled, also explained here.     I want to start developmet of new application using PrismV4, MEF, Ribbon. But now, I have a problem. How to create tabs for Ribbon dynamically? Each module in application could create own tab in Ribbon. And each tab may have many groups. How can it be done? Where do I need to place each group's definitions (what controls to use (buttons, textboxes, comboboxes, etc) and command bindings and how? Do I need to write XAML somewhere in Module, or all it can be done by code? And last question, how to notify Ribbon (in Shell) to add these tabs to Ribbon? Shall I use EventAggregator to communicate from Module to Shell? Or? Thanks for any advices and Happy New Year :)

    Hello, I am a seasoned Delphi developer and would like to create something like seamless terminal services where an application is executed on a server but appears on the the desktop of the client. To someone working on the server i don't want them to see the remote application running (except if they looked in at the list of running processes). Im lost as to how to go about this, where to start, how to get an application to render to a surface other than the servers desktop. Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

    I open forms inside tabs of a page control. These forms may contain actions with shortcuts. And I want these shortcuts to be fired only when the tab that contain this form is active. I tried to override form's IsShortCut but it's not called. Form's OnShortCut is not called either. I would like to avoid putting code on each action to check this. I'm using Delphi 2010.

What I want to accomplish is some kind of auto-spellchecker wich can be given a list of common typos (flase instead of false, .cerate instead of .create and the like) and replace them with the intended word.
