  • Why does /**[newline] not always insert the Javadoc template including @param and @return in Eclipse

    - by Bas van den Broek
I'm documenting code in Eclipse and have been using the /** followed by Enter alot to insert the Javadoc template. However this does not always work for some reason, it will create the template for writing comments but it won't automatically insert the @param and @return text. If I copy the exact same method to another class it will insert the full template. It would be a big help if anyone could tell me why it won't do this in some situations.

  • Eclipse JFace TreeViewer level auto expansion doesn't work

    - by tamm0r
According to the Eclipse documentation TreeViewer.setAutoExpandLevel(3) means that top-level elements are expanded, and their children, but not grandchildren. I used that in my code, but after setting the input the tree is not auto-expanded, neither on OS X nor on Linux. Expanding the tree manually (via mouse) works flawlessly. Am I missing anything?

  • Read from file in eclipse

    - by Buzkie
I'm trying to read from a text file to input data to my java program. However, eclipse continuosly gives me a Source not found error no matter where I put the file. I've made an additional sources folder in the project directory, the file in question is in both it and the bin file for the project and it still can't find it. I even put a copy of it on my desktop and tried pointing eclipse there when it asked me to browse for the source lookup path. No matter what I do it can't find the file. here's my code in case it's pertinent: System.out.println(System.getProperty("user.dir")); File file = new File("file.txt"); Scanner scanner = new Scanner(file); in addition, it says the user directory is the project directory and there is a copy there too. I have no clue what to do. Thanks, Alex after attempting the suggestion below and refreshing again, I was greeted by a host of errors. • Eclipse's Visual Studio Ctrl+Tab and Ctrl+Shift+Tab Equivalent

    - by jasonh
In Visual Studio, I always use Ctrl+Tab and Ctrl+Shift+Tab to navigate between documents. I see that Eclipse has Ctrl+F6 to navigate between editors, but this isn't nearly the same behavior. The difference being, pressing it once and then again will get you moving back and forth between two files, whereas in VS, it will cause you to navigate forward based on the tab order in the editor. Any ideas on how I can replicate VS's behavior?

    - by Roman
In one of my directories I have all .java files which belong to one package ("game"). Now I want to create one .java file which does not belong to this package and which imports the "game" package. If I create a new file and write import game; then Eclipse complains that it does not know what the "game" package means. Can somebody please help me to solve this problem?

Thanks.

  • Maven - Eclipse does not see dependencies

    - by Matt
I have a project in eclipse, that is unable to see maven dependencies. What is odd is when I build from the command line the build completes fine. They are both pointed at the same repository. I would think that it is something with maven or project configuration but I have been through every piece with no success. I would appreciate any help on this one. ps using m2eclipse

  • Eclipse auto-complete of filenames

    - by Martin Tilsted
Does anyone know if there exists a plugin to Eclipse which can auto complete filenames for files in the project. So if I type images/s [Alt+tab] it should present a list of all files located in images starting with s. Like the auto-complete for types but using filenames. It would be really cool if it worked with all kinds of editors.
