  I get this exception during the mock recording time. Searched for a solution in this forum. Made sure that i did not mess up any another parameter. The below mock expection is giving the error.   First time I've come to use collection_select in a project and I've hit a wall with it. A Profile has_one Team, Team has_many Profile. In my view for editing profiles I have this. <td><%= f.collection_select(:team_id, @team, :id, :title) %></td> Which populates the drop down with titles of teams as expected. The couple of examples I have read seem to use it in a very similar way. I can't figure out when the profile is saved why it isn't populating the team_id field in my DB. In the development log the team_id is being passed. • IE "Microsoft JScript runtime error: Object expected"

  Hi there, I have problems with regards to javascript only when using IE. The error I am getting is "Microsoft JScript runtime error: Object expected" and I have no idea why. It is then jumping into the JQuery 1.4.2 file, without giving me a proper error message. All I am doing is simply reading on page load the raw URL, and getting a query string named Search. Using that in an AJAX call to return products and put then into a DIV. No biggies, but somehow IE is managing to blow my page up :-( Any ideas?   Still early days with Mathematica so please forgive what is probably a very obvious question. I am trying to generate some parametric plots. I have: ParametricPlot[{ (a + b) Cos[t] - h Cos[(a + b)/b t], (a + b) Sin[t] - h Sin[(a + b)/b t]}, {t, 0, 2 \[Pi]}, PlotRange -> All] /. {a -> 2, b -> 1, h -> 1} No joy: the replacement rules are not applied and a, b and h remain undefined. If I instead do: Hold@ParametricPlot[{ (a + b) Cos[t] - h Cos[(a + b)/b t], (a + b) Sin[t] - h Sin[(a + b)/b t]}, {t, 0, 2 \[Pi]}, PlotRange -> All] /. {a -> 2, b -> 1, h -> 1} it looks like the rules ARE working, as confirmed by the output: Hold[ParametricPlot[{(2 + 1) Cos[t] - 1 Cos[(2 + 1) t], (2 + 1) Sin[t] - 1 Sin[(2 + 1) t]}, {t, 0, 2 \[Pi]}, PlotRange -> All]] Which is what I'd expect. Take the Hold off, though, and the ParametricPlot doesn't work. There's nothing wrong with the equations or the ParametricPlot itself, though, because I tried setting values for a, b and h in a separate expression (a=2; b=1; h=1) and I get my pretty double cardoid out as expected. So, what am I doing wrong with ReplaceAll and why are the transformation rules not working? This is another fundamentally important aspect of MMA that my OOP-ruined brain isn't understanding. I tried reading up on ReplaceAll and ParametricPlot and the closest clue I found was that "ParametricPlot has attribute HoldAll and evaluates f only after assigning specific numerical values to variables" which didn't help much or I wouldn't be here.   I'm in the process of creating a simple 2D game engine in C with a group of friends at school. I'd like to write this engine in an Object-Oriented way, using structs as classes, function pointers as methods, etc. To emulate standard OOP syntax, I created a create() function which allocates space in memory for the object. I'm in the process of testing it out, and I'm receiving an error.   I have a script that opens up an excel file if the password provided is correct. If its wrong, it prompts a message. It works perfectly when I add a loop at the end. However, the problem is whenever the password is wrong the script won't stop asking for the password because of the loop. What I want is the script to quit/close if the password is wrong. I tried to remove the loop and replaced it with "wscript.quit" but it always prompts the message "expected loop".   I am trying to design an application for Android that makes use of the SlidingDrawer, but I have not been able to use the form (layout?) designer to add this element without producing an exception "IllegalArgumentException: The handle attribute is required and must refer to a valid child." As of March 17th, I believe I have everything up to date (Eclipse, and the Android SDK). All the SDK components have been installed. I have created two Android virtual devices, One for version 1.0, and one for version 2.1 when I figured out that 1.0 didn't support the SlidingDrawer. I have tried importing the samples provided in the SDK, as well as several other layouts from the web that I have found, all of which produce this same exception. My programming background is mostly C++, and I consider myself to be a novice programmer, so feel free to talk to me as if I were an idiot so that I will understand. ^^;

  I'm trying to parse Rss2, Atom feeds using SyndicationFeedFormatter and SyndicationFeed objects. But I'm getting XmlExceptions while parsing DateTime field like pubDate and/or lastBuildDate. When I run this client application on my development PC with exactly the same config, with the exception that I remove proxyAddress="10.20.30.40:8080" from the bindings the operation works without problems. Now I really don't know what specifying a proxy server address might have to do with absolute or relative URIs. The use of the proxy server or not is the only difference I can see when running the client on the production or on the development machine. Does someone have an idea what this exception might mean in this context and how possibly to solve the problem? Thank you in advance for help!

I have the following function written in C# public static string GetNominativeDeclension(string surnameNamePatronimic) { if(surnameNamePatronimic == null) throw new ArgumentNullException("surnameNamePatronimic"); IntPtr[] ptrs = null; try { ptrs = StringsToIntPtrArray(surnameNamePatronimic); int resultLen = MaxResultBufSize; int err = decGetNominativePadeg(ptrs[0], ptrs[1], ref resultLen); ThrowException(err); return IntPtrToString(ptrs, resultLen); } catch { return surnameNamePatronimic; } finally { FreeIntPtr(ptrs); } } Function decGetNominativePadeg is in unmanaged dll [DllImport("Padeg.dll", EntryPoint = "GetNominativePadeg")] private static extern Int32 decGetNominativePadeg(IntPtr surnameNamePatronimic, IntPtr result, ref Int32 resultLength); and throws an exception: Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt. The catch that is in C# code doesn't actually catch it. Why? How to handle this exception? Thank you for your help!
