  • UITabBarController unresponsive for touches

    - by JustSid
So, I have this view hierarchy in my app: UIWindow UIViewController UITabBarController -> 4 UINavigationController I know that a UITabBarController is designed to be the topmost view in an app, however this isn't possible in my case. However, the problem that I have is that ~20 of the lower pixels aren't responsive for touches so that the UITabBarController doesn't trigger the tab changes correctly. This happens on an actual device (iPad and iPhone 3G). My question is, are there any obvious reasons why this could happen? I add the UITabBarController like this as subview to my UIViewController view: - (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; [self.view addSubview:controller.view]; // Controller is the UITabBarController } I didn't set the UITabBarController's delegate.

  • prevent UIWebView inputs from displaying UIKeyboard without disabling user interaction

    - by Slee
I have a UIWebView that loads and external product configuration web service UI that is basically a bunch of dependent Drop Down lists. The problem is the Drop Downs are basically enhanced text input's so when the user taps them to display the options the UIKeyboard keeps popping up and own after they make their selection. it is less than a fluid process. Is there anyway to suppress the html inputs from triggering the UIKeyboard?

  • UIImagePickerController shows last picture taken instead of camera input

    - by jules
I'm having a strange behaviour within my app. For taking pictures i'm using the following pretty standard code for displaying the UIImagePickerController: UIImagePickerController *picker = [[UIImagePickerController alloc] init]; picker.delegate = self; picker.allowsEditing = NO; picker.sourceType = UIImagePickerControllerSourceTypeCamera; [self presentViewController:picker animated:YES completion:nil]; It works perfectly fine the first time I tap the button which calls this action. The strange behaviour starts when I tap that button again. The UIImagePickerController starts again BUT it doesnt show the input from the camera anymore. It shows the last picture I've taken. More Details of this state: Tapping on the image shows the yellow square of the auto focus. (which it actually uses to focus the camera correctly) When I tap on the ImageCapture button - the correct image is taken and presented on the screen. If I take a picture and press 'Retake' the regular camera image is presented as input. More weirdness: It has nothing to do with the iPad I'm using. Creating a new example app which only has button which calls the code from above everything works perfectly fine. I assume it has something to do with the configuration of the app. Therefore I checked everything but could not find any differences which may cause this issue. Thanks in advance for any advice! Update: I do implement the UIImagePickerControllerDelegate in order to dismiss the UIImagePickerController.

  • Memory Leaks - Objective-C

    - by reising1

I have a English major during college and would like to start my career in mobile application development. I know this won't be easy for someone like me who doesn't have a technical background but I have made up my mind and I am committed to learning to code. What would you recommend to someone who wants to to start learning mobile application development from scratch? What books or college courses/certificates are required?

  • Send custom headers with UIWebView loadRequest

    - by Thomas Clayson
I want to be able to send some extra headers with my UIWebView loadRequest method. I have tried: NSMutableURLRequest *req = [NSMutableURLRequest requestWithURL:[NSURL URLWithString:@"http://www.reliply.org/tools/requestheaders.php"]]; [req addValue:@"hello" forHTTPHeaderField:@"aHeader"]; [self.theWebView loadRequest:req]; I have also tried subclassing the UIWebView and intercepting the - (BOOL)webView:(UIWebView *)webView shouldStartLoadWithRequest:(NSURLRequest *)request navigationType:(UIWebViewNavigationType)navigationType method. In that method I had a block of code which looked like this: NSMutableURLRequest *newRequest = [request mutableCopy]; for(NSString *key in [customHeaders allKeys]) { [newRequest setValue:[customHeaders valueForKey:key] forHTTPHeaderField:key]; } [self loadRequest:newRequest]; But for some unknown reason it was causing the web view to not load anything (blank frame) and the error message NSURLErrorCancelled (-999) comes up (all known fixes don't fix it for me). So I am at a loss as to what to do. How can I send a custom header along with a UIWebView request? Many thanks!

  • UIAlertController handle dismiss upon click outside (IPad)

    - by Tomer Peled
Previous to iOS8 we used the UIActionSheet for showing alert and now we need to use the UIAlertController. When we used the UIActionSheet we could easily handle situations where the user clicked outside the pop up (which means he want to cancel the operation) by comparing the clickedButtonAtIndex to the cancelButtonIndex - if the user indeed pressed outside the popup we got the cancel button index in this function. How can we handle these situations with the new UIAlertController? I tried to use the "completion" block but it doesn't have any context. Is there an easy way to handle this? (other than "saving" the actions states in some general variable).

  • iOS6 Twitter integration

    - by Peter Warbo
There seems to be a difference between the iPhone simulator and actual device when checking if Twitter is available. I check if a Twitter account is setup by using this code: [SLComposeViewController isAvailableForServiceType:SLServiceTypeTwitter]; In the simulator there is a nice UIAlertView informing the user that there are no Twitter accounts setup and two buttons one for Settings and one for Cancel. However when I run my app on my device it will not show the above UIAlertView. Why is that? And how can I catch what button is tapped in the above UIAlertView (since I did not instantiate it?) This is what it looks like on the simulator:

  • Add objects in relationship not work using MagicalRecord saveWithBlock

    - by yong ho
The code to perform a save block: [MagicalRecord saveWithBlock:^(NSManagedObjectContext *localContext) { for (NSDictionary *stockDict in objects) { NSString *name = stockDict[@"name"]; Stock *stock = [Stock MR_createInContext:localContext]; stock.name = name; NSArray *categories = stockDict[@"categories"]; if ([categories count] > 0) { for (NSDictionary *categoryObject in categories) { NSString *categoryId = categoryObject[@"_id"]; NSPredicate *predicate = [NSPredicate predicateWithFormat:@"categoryId == %@", categoryId]; NSArray *matches = [StockCategory MR_findAllWithPredicate:predicate inContext:localContext]; NSLog(@"%@", matches); if ([matches count] > 0) { StockCategory *cat = [matches objectAtIndex:0]; [stock addCategoriesObject:cat]; } } } } } completion:^(BOOL success, NSError *error) { }]; The Stock Model: @class StockCategory; @interface Stock : NSManagedObject @property (nonatomic, retain) NSString * name; @property (nonatomic, retain) NSSet *categories; @end @interface Stock (CoreDataGeneratedAccessors) - (void)addCategoriesObject:(StockCategory *)value; - (void)removeCategoriesObject:(StockCategory *)value; - (void)addCategories:(NSSet *)values; - (void)removeCategories:(NSSet *)values; @end The json look like this: [ { "name": "iPad mini ", "categories": [ { "name": "iPad", "_id": "538c655fae9b3e1502fc5c9e", "__v": 0, "createdDate": "2014-06-02T11:51:59.433Z" } ], }, { "name": "iPad Air ", "categories": [ { "name": "iPad", "_id": "538c655fae9b3e1502fc5c9e", "__v": 0, "createdDate": "2014-06-02T11:51:59.433Z" } ], } ] Open the core data pro, You can see only stock with the name of "iPad air" has it's categories saved. I just can't figure out why. You can see in the saveWithBlock part, I first find in the context for the same _id as in json, and then add the category object in the relationship. It's working, but not all of them. Why is that?

  • How to fire the action of a uibarbuttonitem programatically?

    - by Aruna Herath
I have created an uibarbuttonitem dynamically and it works properly. I want to fire that uibarbutton item action(click) programatically for unit testing. Even though the code work properly when I log the action of the bar button item in the application code (not on testing code) it gives null. The code I have used is given below. NSLog(@"%@",NSStringFromSelector(barButton.action)); In the testing code I have created a bar button called logout and assign barbutton to that.To click the bar button item programatically I followed the following code. [logout.target performSelector:logout.action]; But it didn't work . I logged the action of logout button and it also gives null. NSLog(@"%@",logout.action); I want to know how to programatically click a uibarbutton item which created dynamically .

  • Dynamically sized UIWebView in a UITableViewCell with auto layout - constraint violation

    - by Orion Edwards
I've got a UITableViewCell which contains a UIWebView. The table view cell adjusts it's height depending on the web view contents. I've got it all working fine, however when the view loads, I get a constraint violation exception in the debugger (the app continues running and functionally works fine, but I'd like to resolve this exception if possible). How I've got it set up: The TableView sets the cell height like this: -(CGFloat)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView heightForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { if(indexPath.section == 0) { [_topCell layoutIfNeeded]; CGFloat finalHeight = [_topCell.contentView systemLayoutSizeFittingSize:UILayoutFittingCompressedSize].height; return finalHeight + 1; } The cell constraints are as follows: Arbitrary 7px offset from the cell's contentView (top) to the webView Web view has arbitrary fixed height constraint of 62px (will expand later once content loads) Arbitrary 8px offset from the webView to the cell's contentView (bottom) in my viewDidLoad, I tell the webView to go and load a URL, and in the webViewDidFinishLoad, I update the web view height constraint, like this -(void)webViewDidFinishLoad:(UIWebView *)webView { CGSize fittingSize = [webView sizeThatFits:CGSizeZero]; // fittingSize is approx 500 [self.tableView beginUpdates]; // Exceptions happen on the following line setting the constant _topCell.webViewHeightConstraint.constant = fittingSize.height; [_topCell layoutSubviews]; [self.tableView endUpdates]; } The exception looks like this: Unable to simultaneously satisfy constraints. Probably at least one of the constraints in the following list is one you don't want. Try this: (1) look at each constraint and try to figure out which you don't expect; (2) find the code that added the unwanted constraint or constraints and fix it. (Note: If you're seeing NSAutoresizingMaskLayoutConstraints that you don't understand, refer to the documentation for the UIView property translatesAutoresizingMaskIntoConstraints) ( "<NSLayoutConstraint:0x10964b250 V:[webView(62)] (Names: webView:0x109664a00 )>", "<NSLayoutConstraint:0x109243d30 V:|-(7)-[webView] (Names: webView:0x109664a00, cellContent:0x1092436f0, '|':cellContent:0x1092436f0 )>", "<NSLayoutConstraint:0x109243f80 V:[webView]-(8)-| (Names: cellContent:0x1092436f0, webView:0x109664a00, '|':cellContent:0x1092436f0 )>", "<NSAutoresizingMaskLayoutConstraint:0x10967c210 h=--& v=--& V:[cellContent(78)] (Names: cellContent:0x1092436f0 )>" ) Will attempt to recover by breaking constraint <NSLayoutConstraint:0x10964b250 V:[webView(62)] (Names: webView:0x109664a00 )> This seems a bit weird. It's implied that the constraint which sets the height of the web view is going to be broken, however the web view does get it's height correctly set, and the tableview renders perfectly well. From my guesses, it looks like the newly increased web view height constraint (it's about 500px after the web view loads) is going to conflict with the <NSAutoresizingMaskLayoutConstraint:0x10967c210 h=--& v=--& V:[cellContent(78)] setting the cell height to 78 (put there by interface builder). This makes sense, however I don't want that cell content to have a fixed height of 78px, I want it to increase it's height, and functionally, it actually does this, just with these exceptions. I've tried setting _topCell.contentView.translatesAutoresizingMaskIntoConstraints = NO; to attempt to remove the NSAutoresizingMaskLayoutConstraint - this stops the exceptions, but then all the other layout is screwed up and the web view is about 10px high in the middle of the table view for no reason. I've also tried setting _topCell.contentView.autoresizingMask |= UIViewAutoresizingFlexibleHeight; in the viewDidLoad to hopefully affect the contentView 78px height constraint, but this has no effect Any help would be much appreciated

  • AVFoundation buffer comparison to a saved image

    - by user577552
Hi, I am a long time reader, first time poster on StackOverflow, and must say it has been a great source of knowledge for me. I am trying to get to know the AVFoundation framework. What I want to do is save what the camera sees and then detect when something changes. Here is the part where I save the image to a UIImage : if (shouldSetBackgroundImage) { CGColorSpaceRef colorSpace = CGColorSpaceCreateDeviceRGB(); // Create a bitmap graphics context with the sample buffer data CGContextRef context = CGBitmapContextCreate(rowBase, bufferWidth, bufferHeight, 8, bytesPerRow, colorSpace, kCGBitmapByteOrder32Little | kCGImageAlphaPremultipliedFirst); // Create a Quartz image from the pixel data in the bitmap graphics context CGImageRef quartzImage = CGBitmapContextCreateImage(context); // Free up the context and color space CGContextRelease(context); CGColorSpaceRelease(colorSpace); // Create an image object from the Quartz image UIImage * image = [UIImage imageWithCGImage:quartzImage]; [self setBackgroundImage:image]; NSLog(@"reference image actually set"); // Release the Quartz image CGImageRelease(quartzImage); //Signal that the image has been saved shouldSetBackgroundImage = NO; } and here is the part where I check if there is any change in the image seen by the camera : else { CGImageRef cgImage = [backgroundImage CGImage]; CGDataProviderRef provider = CGImageGetDataProvider(cgImage); CFDataRef bitmapData = CGDataProviderCopyData(provider); char* data = CFDataGetBytePtr(bitmapData); if (data != NULL) { int64_t numDiffer = 0, pixelCount = 0; NSMutableArray * pointsMutable = [NSMutableArray array]; for( int row = 0; row < bufferHeight; row += 8 ) { for( int column = 0; column < bufferWidth; column += 8 ) { //we get one pixel from each source (buffer and saved image) unsigned char *pixel = rowBase + (row * bytesPerRow) + (column * BYTES_PER_PIXEL); unsigned char *referencePixel = data + (row * bytesPerRow) + (column * BYTES_PER_PIXEL); pixelCount++; if ( !match(pixel, referencePixel, matchThreshold) ) { numDiffer++; [pointsMutable addObject:[NSValue valueWithCGPoint:CGPointMake(SCREEN_WIDTH - (column/ (float) bufferHeight)* SCREEN_WIDTH - 4.0, (row/ (float) bufferWidth)* SCREEN_HEIGHT- 4.0)]]; } } } numberOfPixelsThatDiffer = numDiffer; points = [pointsMutable copy]; } For some reason, this doesn't work, meaning that the iPhone detects almost everything as being different from the saved image, even though I set a very low threshold for detection in the match function... Do you have any idea of what I am doing wrong?

  • Pick video using PhotoPickerPlus?

Is there a way I can pick video using photo-picker-plus instead of a photo? When I check the media type using: NSString *mediaType = [info objectForKey: UIImagePickerControllerMediaType]; I always get public.image (even when I pick a video). On a related note, is there any other SDK similar to photo-picker-plus for picking video from different sources? UIImagePickerController could be an option. But, I am looking for something that is as versatile as photo-picker-plus. Anil

  • Monotouch.dialog and story board apps?

    - by Robin Diederen
I'm trying to use mt.d; I've "drawn" an app using the storyboard feature of Xcode. My app consists of a tabbar which displays one of three viewcontrollers. Two out of three are simple viewcontrollers (single screens) and one is a splitviewcontroller. The splitview is tricky; using the stock xcode components I've drawn a master / table and a detail view. The table works as expected, but now I want to use mt.d to fill the detailview (later I need it to depend on the selection of the master, but not for now). I've subclassed the splitviewcontroller; in the viewdidload event I've created a mt.d dialogviewcontroller. Now I'm trying to push the dialogviewcontroller to the detailview, using the splitviewcontroller.viewcontrollers array. Doesn't seem to work; when running the app it still some an empty screen for the detail view (as drawn in xcode). Any clues for doing what I want? Thanx!

  • Swiping Images with Page Control in Iphone

    - by lakesh
I am trying to make practice app where i can scroll images with page control. I am able to scroll images and able to include the page control. But the problem i face is i am not able to interlink the two. Meaning to say when I scroll the images, the page control is not affected and when i change the page control, the scrolling of the images is unaffected. I have referred to this: http://www.iosdevnotes.com/2011/03/uiscrollview-paging/ for the scrolling with page control. Viewcontroller.h #import <UIKit/UIKit.h> @interface ViewController : UIViewController <UIScrollViewDelegate>{ UIScrollView *scrollView; UIPageControl *pageControl; BOOL pageControlBeingUsed; } @property (nonatomic, retain) IBOutlet UIScrollView *scrollView; @property (nonatomic, retain) IBOutlet UIPageControl *pageControl; - (IBAction)changePage; @end Viewcontroller.m #import "ViewController.h" @interface ViewController () @end @implementation ViewController @synthesize scrollView, pageControl; - (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; NSArray *images = [[NSArray alloc] initWithObjects:[UIImage imageNamed:@"1.jpeg"],[UIImage imageNamed:@"2.jpeg"],[UIImage imageNamed:@"3.jpeg" ], nil]; self.scrollView.contentSize = CGSizeMake(self.scrollView.frame.size.width * images.count, self.scrollView.frame.size.height); for (int i = 0; i < images.count; i++) { CGRect frame; frame.origin.x = self.scrollView.frame.size.width * i; frame.origin.y = 0; frame.size = self.scrollView.frame.size; UIImageView* imgView = [[UIImageView alloc] init]; imgView.image = [images objectAtIndex:i]; imgView.frame = frame; [scrollView addSubview:imgView]; } } - (void)didReceiveMemoryWarning { [super didReceiveMemoryWarning]; // Dispose of any resources that can be recreated. } - (void)viewDidUnload { // Release any retained subviews of the main view. // e.g. self.myOutlet = nil; self.scrollView = nil; } - (void)scrollViewDidScroll:(UIScrollView *)sender { // Update the page when more than 50% of the previous/next page is visible CGFloat pageWidth = self.scrollView.frame.size.width; int page = floor((self.scrollView.contentOffset.x - pageWidth / 2) / pageWidth) + 1; self.pageControl.currentPage = page; } - (IBAction)changePage{ // update the scroll view to the appropriate page CGRect frame; frame.origin.x = self.scrollView.frame.size.width * self.pageControl.currentPage; frame.origin.y = 0; frame.size = self.scrollView.frame.size; [self.scrollView scrollRectToVisible:frame animated:YES]; pageControlBeingUsed = YES; } - (void)scrollViewWillBeginDragging:(UIScrollView *)scrollView { pageControlBeingUsed = NO; } - (void)scrollViewDidEndDecelerating:(UIScrollView *)scrollView { pageControlBeingUsed = NO; } @end Need some guidance on this... If it is not possible to change the text of that UIAlertView, is it at least possible to display it in another language ? Edit : the default text is "The maximum length for this video has been reached" with title "Video Recording Stopped". Thank you, aimak

  • iPad start in Landscape receive only touch within 768x768

    - by user1307179
    It works perfect fine when starting in portrait and also works when you rotate from portrait to landscape and back. It does not work when starting in landscape. But then it works when you rotate from landscape to portrait and back. In landscape starting mode, the screen does not respond with any touch where screen coordinateX greater than 768. What happens in code is, I use status bar orientation to determine original orientation and rotate each view manually. The views display correctly but does not receive touch properly. Then my root view controller will get called when ipad start rotating with: - (void)willRotateToInterfaceOrientation:(UIInterfaceOrientation)toInterfaceOrientation duration:(NSTimeInterval)duration which will rotate every subviews. Root controller: - (void)loadView { self.view = [[UIView alloc]init ]; //initialize child views [self willRotateToInterfaceOrientation:0 duration:0]; } - (void)willRotateToInterfaceOrientation:(UIInterfaceOrientation)toInterfaceOrientation duration:(NSTimeInterval)duration { if ([model isLandscape]) { self.view.frame = CGRectMake(0, 0, 1024, 768-80); } else { self.view.frame = CGRectMake(0, 0, 768, 1024-80); } //rotate child views } My code [model isLandscape] works so I don't need to provide details as to how it works but here are the code anyway: - (bool)isLandscape { if (orientation == UIInterfaceOrientationLandscapeLeft || orientation == UIInterfaceOrientationLandscapeRight) return true; else return false; } -(id) init { [[NSNotificationCenter defaultCenter] addObserver:self selector:@selector(orientationChanged:) name:UIDeviceOrientationDidChangeNotification object:nil]; } - (void)orientationChanged:(NSNotification *)notification { UIInterfaceOrientation curOrientation = [[UIDevice currentDevice] orientation]; if (curOrientation == UIDeviceOrientationPortrait || curOrientation == UIDeviceOrientationPortraitUpsideDown || curOrientation == UIDeviceOrientationLandscapeLeft || curOrientation == UIDeviceOrientationLandscapeRight) { orientation = curOrientation; ((AppDelegate*)([UIApplication sharedApplication].delegate)).savedOrientationForRestart = orientation; NSLog(@"changed"); } } -(void)validateOrientation { //first time when initializing orientation UIInterfaceOrientation curOrientation = [[UIDevice currentDevice] orientation]; if (curOrientation != UIDeviceOrientationPortrait && curOrientation != UIDeviceOrientationPortraitUpsideDown && curOrientation != UIDeviceOrientationLandscapeLeft && curOrientation != UIDeviceOrientationLandscapeRight) { orientation = [[UIApplication sharedApplication] statusBarOrientation]; } }

  • RestKit : Not able to perform mapping using coredata

    - by Ashish Beuwria
I'm using rest kit 0.20.3 and Xcode 5. Without core data I'm able to perform all rest kit operation, but when I've tried it with core data, I'm not even able to perform GET due to some problem. I can't figure it out. I'm new with core data. So pls help. Here is my code: AppDelegate.m @implementation CardGameAppDelegate @synthesize managedObjectContext = _managedObjectContext; @synthesize managedObjectModel = _managedObjectModel; @synthesize persistentStoreCoordinator = _persistentStoreCoordinator; - (BOOL)application:(UIApplication *)application didFinishLaunchingWithOptions:(NSDictionary *)launchOptions { RKLogConfigureByName("RestKit", RKLogLevelWarning); RKLogConfigureByName("RestKit/ObjectMapping", RKLogLevelTrace); RKLogConfigureByName("RestKit/Network", RKLogLevelTrace); RKObjectManager *objectManager = [RKObjectManager managerWithBaseURL:[NSURL URLWithString:@"http://192.168.1.3:3010/"]]; RKManagedObjectStore *objectStore = [[RKManagedObjectStore alloc] initWithManagedObjectModel:self.managedObjectModel]; objectManager.managedObjectStore = objectStore; RKEntityMapping *playerMapping = [RKEntityMapping mappingForEntityForName:@"Player" inManagedObjectStore:objectStore]; [playerMapping addAttributeMappingsFromDictionary:@{@"id": @"playerId", @"name": @"playerName", @"age" : @"playerAge", @"created_at": @"createdAt", @"updated_at": @"updatedAt"}]; RKResponseDescriptor *responseDesc = [RKResponseDescriptor responseDescriptorWithMapping:playerMapping method:RKRequestMethodGET pathPattern:@"/players.json" keyPath:nil statusCodes:RKStatusCodeIndexSetForClass(RKStatusCodeClassSuccessful)]; [objectManager addResponseDescriptor:responseDesc]; PlayersTableViewController *ptvc = (PlayersTableViewController *)self.window.rootViewController; ptvc.managedObjectContext = self.managedObjectContext; return YES; } and code for playerTableViewController.h #import <UIKit/UIKit.h> @interface PlayersTableViewController : UITableViewController <NSFetchedResultsControllerDelegate> @property (strong, nonatomic) NSFetchedResultsController *fetchedResultsController; @property (strong, nonatomic) NSManagedObjectContext *managedObjectContext; @end and PlayerTableViewController.m get method: -(void)loadPlayers{ [[RKObjectManager sharedManager] getObjectsAtPath:@"/players.json" parameters:nil success:^(RKObjectRequestOperation *operation, RKMappingResult *mappingResult){ [self.refreshControl endRefreshing]; } failure:^(RKObjectRequestOperation *operation, NSError *error) { [self.refreshControl endRefreshing]; UIAlertView *alertView = [[UIAlertView alloc] initWithTitle:@"An Error Has Occurred" message:[error localizedDescription] delegate:nil cancelButtonTitle:@"OK" otherButtonTitles:nil]; [alertView show]; }]; } I'm getting the following error : Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInternalInconsistencyException', reason: 'Unable to perform mapping: No `managedObjectContext` assigned. • NSDateFormatterFullStyle without year (NSDateFormatter)

    - by Brian Halpin
Using the user's currentLocale from the device, I want to have a date format exactly like the one generated for NSDateFormatterFullStyle minus the year: [dateFormatter setDateStyle:NSDateFormatterFullStyle]; Friday, 21 September (2012) I've noticed the iPhone app, Living Earth does this and works for all locales, so does the iPhone lock screen. A custom formatter such as, [dateFormatter setDateFormat:@"EEEE, MMMM"]; won't change with localisation. Can anyone shed some light on how to accomplish this? None of the options for date style seem to do this. Thanks

  • Audio in xCode4.x is producing console warnings

    - by David DelMonte
While the app works, I am seeing pages of console log warnings when I'm running my app on the simulator. Even Apple's "LoadPresetDemo" sample app produces the same warning messages. I don't want to reproduce them all here (about 500 lines), but here are few. I would appreciate any insight into what's going on... • Comparing UIColors or CGColor or CGColorSpace

    - by wiznaibus
    I'm having an issue comparing UIColors. I have an image, which I have successfully extracted the color on the image at which the user clicked. Now I want to compare that color with other colors, but I'm getting some strange results. Here's what I've tried: CGColorRef pixelColor = [[buttonImage colorAtPixel:point] CGColor]; UIColor* color = [UIColor colorWithCGColor:pixelColor]; UIColor* aqua = [UIColor colorWithRed:0.521569 green:0.768627 blue:0.254902 alpha:1]; if (CGColorEqualToColor(color.CGColor, aqua.CGColor)) { DLog(@"Apparently, it works"); } DLog(@"%@", color.CGColor); DLog(@"%@", aqua.CGColor); Output: 2011-05-21 19:48:27.144 Coffee[66860:207] -[DescriptorsViewController touchesEnded:withEvent:] <CGColor 0x4d1eb80> [<CGColorSpace 0x4d1a070> (kCGColorSpaceDeviceRGB)] ( 0.521569 0.768627 0.254902 1 ) 2011-05-21 19:48:27.145 Coffee[66860:207] -[DescriptorsViewController touchesEnded:withEvent:] <CGColor 0x4d1f750> [<CGColorSpace 0x4d1a070> (kCGColorSpaceDeviceRGB)] ( 0.521569 0.768627 0.254902 1 ) It looks like the CGColor addresses are different, but the CGColorSpaces are the same, but I can't figure out how to compare the CGColorSpaces I've also tried this: CGColorRef pixelColor = [[buttonImage colorAtPixel:point] CGColor]; UIColor* color = [UIColor colorWithCGColor:pixelColor]; UIColor* aqua = [UIColor colorWithRed:0.521569 green:0.768627 blue:0.254902 alpha:1]; if ([color isEqual:aqua]) { DLog(@"Apparently, it works"); } DLog(@"%@", color.CGColor); DLog(@"%@", aqua.CGColor); The same silliness occurs. 2011-05-21 20:02:49.277 Coffee[67013:207] -[DescriptorsViewController touchesEnded:withEvent:] <CGColor 0x4d3b810> [<CGColorSpace 0x5912010> (kCGColorSpaceDeviceRGB)] ( 0.521569 0.768627 0.254902 1 ) 2011-05-21 20:02:49.278 Coffee[67013:207] -[DescriptorsViewController touchesEnded:withEvent:] <CGColor 0x4d3ba20> [<CGColorSpace 0x5912010> (kCGColorSpaceDeviceRGB)] ( 0.521569 0.768627 0.254902 1 )`

  • https google urlshortener request missing body

    - by Peter
Hi, Just trying to get the new API for the goo.gl URL shortening service working on my iPhone, following the instructions on http://code.google.com/apis/urlshortener/v1/getting_started.html I'm set up and the API is enabled etc., but when I send a request in the recommended format: POST https://www.googleapis.com/urlshortener/v1/url Content-Type: application/json {"longUrl": "http://www.google.com/"} I get an error returned. The error is exactly the one listed on that page in the errors section for if you haven't passed in a longURL param. This makes me think that I'm not setting up the body of the POST request properly. Here's the code if you have any pointers... NSString *longURLString=@"http://www.stackoverflow.com"; NSString *googlRequestString=@"https://www.googleapis.com/urlshortener/v1/url"; NSMutableURLRequest *request=[NSMutableURLRequest requestWithURL:[NSURL URLWithString:googlRequestString]]; [request setHTTPMethod:@"POST"]; [request addValue:@"application/json" forHTTPHeaderField:@"Content-Type:"]; NSString *bodyString=[NSString stringWithFormat:@"{\"longUrl\": \"%@\"}",longURLString]; [request setHTTPBody:[bodyString dataUsingEncoding:NSUTF8StringEncoding]]; NSURLResponse *theResponse; NSError *error=nil; NSData *receivedData=[NSURLConnection sendSynchronousRequest:request returningResponse:&theResponse error:&error]; NSString *receivedString=[[NSString alloc] initWithData:receivedData encoding:NSUTF8StringEncoding]; NSLog(@"Received data: %@",receivedString); [receivedString release]; The NSLog returns: Received data: { "error": { "errors": [ { "domain": "global", "reason": "required", "message": "Required", "locationType": "parameter", "location": "resource.longUrl" } ], "code": 400, "message": "Required" } } which is exactly what Google says you get if you have not passed a longUrl parameter.... My guess is I'm missing something very obvious here :-) P
