hi i have a problem, i have a user who created a database using ms access 2003 the problem is, if he's opening the db and made some changes, the other user can open the db but they can't work on it. but if he's exited the program, then the user can make some changes. i would like to know if its possible; that they can work at the same time when they open the database? Why are my line numbers restarting at 1 in each section even though I've chosen 'continuous'?

Using MS Word 2007. I have 5 sections. Sections 2 and 4 have line-numbering turned on, and I've chosen "continuous' (and not 'restart each section'). However, both sections begin line numbers at 1. In other words, it's acting as though I'd chosen 'restart each section'. Is this a bug, or is there something here I don't understand?

Fill rows down quickly (column or matrix of zeros)

I have an extremely basic question, but I have never found the answer by searching the internet. I simply want to create a large column of zeros with Excel. Sometimes I want to create a huge matrix of zeros (maybe 600 rows by 500 columns) and then replace a few zeros with 1's to create a model design matrix. I have always started by creating a column of, for example, 10 zeros, copying and pasting those zeroes, then copying and pasting the resulting column of 20 zeros, etc., until I had the desired number of rows. Then I would copy and paste that column of zeros one at a time over and over until I had the desired number of columns. This procedure is tedious and time-consuming and I know there must be an easier way. Do you know of any other methods?

I believe my question may be best answered by using Access since that's more what it's made for. However, I don't have a license for Access here at work and trying to get one is pulling teeth. So I'm curious if there is any way to compile reports with data in an Excel 2007 sheet. The output can be .doc, .docx, .pdf - or anything else if there's a decent piece of free 3rd party software. This might be easiest solved by just creating another sheet in the same workbook and directly linking to the data I want to display in a report-esque format. But I wanted to see if SU could offer some more creative solutions.

I have a word document in 2010. The document is a series of questions to be asked to the customer. All the technicians open the document while talking to the customer. Technicians should be able to write in the document but if they try to save it, it should prevent them from doing so. How is this possible. In word 2007, I kept a password for the document. so it gives an options to do ready only if you don't know the password.

I'm reviewing a document in MS Word 2007, and when I add comments, the bubble has red text on a slightly lighter red background. This is pretty hard to read. The Track Changes Options dialog isn't of much help, I can change the background color for Comments, and it's slightly more readable. But I know that Word assigns a color to each user who reviews the document, I'd like to be able to change mine to a different one, and still have it work properly when I pass the document on to others. MS help is useless.

I'm looking to create a macro in Excel 2007 which will do the following: copy the formatting and values from a sheet called 'report', insert this into a new workbook, naming the file with the value in 'B9' and appending the word 'report' to this when copying the data into a new workbook, the formatting of the original should be retained, but cell contents pasted as values rather than formulas prior to saving the file with the above name, the user will be prompted to choose their folder at the end, a message will be displayed alerting the user that the file has been saved successfully Any assistance would be much appreciated. Table Formatting in Word

I have a table in Word which is 5 columns wide and multiple rows. In Row 3, cells 1, 2, 3 & 5 have simple text. Cell 4 contains a large quantity of text and therefore needs to wrap over several pages. Therefore, I mark "Allow row to break across pages". Problem: on next page where row has wrapped, cells 1, 2, 3 & 5 are blank with cell 4 displaying the wrapped text. Is there any way that I can get the simple text from Row 3, cells 1, 2 and 3 to repeat on the pages which contain the wrapped text of cell 4? I do not want the data to be in the table heading, as I have multiple rows which have a similar volume of text.

The spreadsheet has lots of customers listed where there is no second row. I need to insert a blank line to create a second row for each customer that doesn't have one. I have a bunch of comparison data and a lot of entries being compared. As an example, say my sheet looks like this, give or take a few columns: Item Price1 Quantity1 Price2 Quantity2 Price3 Quantity3 001 $123 12 $456 24 $789 48 002 $100 95 $200 5 $300 51 For each item (row), I want to be able to look at all of the Quantity columns and find which one has the highest quantity. Ideally I'd be able to run a condition of some sort on the entire excel sheet at once, and it would highlight in red the highest quantity. So the results would be a red "48" (qty3) for Item 001 and a red "95" (qty1) for Item 002. Only the color would change, not any data, and no new rows would need to be created. Flex chart axis title blinking on resize

I am having a chart with titles for horizontal and vertical axis. the verticalAxisTitleAlignment property of the vertical axis renderer is set to vertical. The application is a portal sort of thing and this chart is placed inside a small window. on click of the window am resizing the parent of the chart. but at that time the title of the axis is blinking and it provides a feeling that the resizing is not smooth. I dont understand why this happens? does the tile renders each time when the component is maximized? is there any way to stop that? MS Chart in WPF, Setting the DataSource is not creating the Series

Hi All, Here I am trying to assign the datasource (using same code given in the sample application) and create a graph, only difference is i am doing it in WPF WindowsFormsHost. due to some reason the datasource is not being assigned properly and i am not able to see the series ("Series 1") being created. wired thing is that it is working in the Windows Forms application but not in the WPF one. am i missing something and can somebody help me? Hi, I have a graph created with MS Chart like the following picture. As you can see the vertical lines are messed up with value of the top of each bar. I've used WCF RIA services with Entity Framework to build a simple application which can display and updates data about school courses. This was done by following the Microsoft tutorials. Now I would like to have a chart which shows a count for how many courses are on a key stage. Example: Key Stage 3 - 20 courses Key Stage 4 - 32 courses Key Stage 5 - 12 courses Displayed on any form of chart. I have no problem binding data to the chart in XAML. My problem is that I do not know how to correct way of getting the data into that format. The generated CRUD methods are basic. I have a few thoughts about possible ways, but don't know which is correct, they are: Create a View in SQL server and map this to a separate Entity in the Entity Data Model. Generating new CRUD methods for this automatically. Customise the read method in the existing DomainService using .Select() .Distinct() etc. Don't know this syntax very well labda expressions/LINQ??? what is it? Any good quickstarts on it? Create a new class to store only the data required and create a read method for it. Tried this but didn't know how to make it work without a matching entity in the entity model. Something I am not aware of. I'm very new to this and struggling with the concepts so if there are useful blogs or documentation I've missed feel free to point me towards them. But I'm unsure of the terminology to use in my searches at the moment.
