  • Connect to MySQL in Ruby using NetBeans

    I've downloaded the "dbd-mysql-0.4.4.zip" and linked it to my project. While I try to run a demo code from NetBeans the very first line require "dbi" gives me an error. Is there a different way to do it? I also tried jruby setup.rb config --with=dbi,dbd_mysql from the command prompt and it gave me the following error: config: unknown option --with=dbi,dbd_mysql Try 'ruby setup.rb --help' for detailed usage. Any suggestions please?

  • PHP Netbeans 6.8 subversion integration (Windows 7)

    I am using Netbeans 6.8 for PHP (under Windows 7) and the subversion integration doesn't work. I am able to checkout a module but I don't see the subversion features in the menus or the outine in the editor left margin that shows the changes in the files. I am using it under Ubuntu with no problems. Did any of you experimented the same problem? If yes, were you able to make it work? Thanks!

  • Is there an Outlook or Gmail plugin to manage multiple tasks in an email?

    I often get client emails containing 10 or more tasks written as text in the email. I know Outlook and Gmail let you turn an email into a single task, but this doesn't help too much when there are 10 tasks in that email. Are there any plugins for Outlook or Gmail that let put checkboxes into the email or something so I can check off each item as they are done? Ideally I'd like the checkboxes/to do items to be inside the email itself so I can see my progress by looking at the email, rather than just letting me copy text from the email into some other task list.

    I'm using Eclipse for several projects on Leopard OSX. I've installed several versions (Classic, PDT, etc).   • How to adjust Aspect Ratio in Windows Media Center

    Is there any way of adjusting the aspect ratio of movies I view in Windows Media Center on Windows 7 RTM x64? Any hidden features? Any brilliant light weight plugins? Using Shark007 Codecs, and otherwise just default Media Center and Media Player. I know I could reprocess the videos, but that would probably ruin the already bad quality. I also know I could use VLC media player, but I really would like to find a solution that works in Media Center, since VLC media player isn't especially Remote Control and media collection friendly... Update: By the way, I know I can Ctrl+Drag an edge of the media center in window mode and change the aspect ratio of the player, but that doesn't do anything to the video.

    I'm trying to install the OMAP4 extras for ubuntu on my pandaboard. For some reason, a few packages can't seem to be agree with eachother. This what I did so far: installed on Ubuntu 11.10 on sd card Powered on Pandaboard and let it finish it's initial install Did an "apt-get update" and "apt-get upgrade", to install updates So far, everything went fine, and I was quite happy with my Pandaboard, but then I made the mistake of typing this: apt-get install ubuntu-imap4-extras At first, everything seemed ok, and it started downloading and installing. But then after a while it just crashed. I tried it again but then it gave me this: Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information...     How to play .swf file in Google Chrome? Because when I open .swf files it says Missing Plug-in. though when I open chrome://plugins it shows that it has Shockwave Flash plugin installed already. My OS is Ubuntu 10 and would be happy if some linux geek could suggest me solution of my problem. Thanks and sorry for stupid question.   • Winamp "Now Playing" POST to PHP script

    I have tried/researched 8 or so different plugins for Winamp that allow this functionality, and none of them seem to work on Windows 7 x64! I need a plugin for Winamp that will send the current playing track information to a PHP script, via GET or POST. I have almost no requirements... it can be the name/artist, or the filename (preferred). No fancy functionality needed, just something basic! The four that I actually are: Now Playing XML HTML Server SongStat Currently Hearing Any suggestions? (Note to Moderators: No, I'm not looking for "shopping recommendations", I just need a plugin that works.   • PDF files are opening in Firefox, undesiredly

    PDF files have suddenly started to open within the browser windows of Firefox 17. The PDF files are being displayed with the Adobe Acrobat plugin, which is odd, since I have explicitly disabled the Adobe Acrobat plugin in Firefox. I would like for Firefox to show the download prompt when opening a PDF file, instead. I have disabled the Adobe Acrobat plugin and I have made sure that PDF files are set to "Always Ask" in the Options dialog. For good measure, I've also tried disabling all plugins and extensions, and associating all file types to "Always Ask", but to no avail. So why is Firefox 17 suddenly ignoring these settings?

    We implement a plugin framework for our application and load plugin assemblies using Assembly.Loadfrom. We then use GetTypes() and further examine the types with each plugin file for supported Interfaces. A path for the plugins is provided by the user and we cycle through each of the files in the folder to see if it (the plugin) supports our plugin interface. If it does, we create an instance, if not we move onto the next file. We build two versions of software from the one code base (appA_1 and appA_2). Loading the plugins works well when the plugins are loaded by the application that was built at the same time as the plugin file. However if we build appA_2 and point to the plugin folder of appA_1, we get an exception when GetTypes() is called. A basic version of our code is; var pluginAssembly = Assembly.LoadFrom(FileName); foreach (var pluginType in pluginAssembly.GetTypes()) { We get a "ReflectionTypeLoadException" exception. This is concerning because we want our application to be able to load the types of any plugin, built by anyone. Is there something we are missing?

  • Unit Testing a rails 2.3.5 plugin

    I'm writing a new plugin for a rails 2.3.5 app. I've included an app directory (which makes it an engine) so i can easily load some extra routes. Not sure if that affects anything. Anyway, in the test directory i have two files: test_helper.rb and my_plugin_test.rb These files were generated automatically using script/generate plugin my_plugin When I go to vendor/plugins/my_plugin directory and run rake test they don't seem to run. I get the following console output: (in /Users/me/Repos/my_app/source/trunk/vendor/plugins/my_plugin) /Users/me/.rvm/rubies/jruby-1.4.0/bin/jruby -I"lib:lib:test" "/Users/me/.rvm/gems/jruby-1.4.0/gems/rake-0.8.7/lib/rake/rake_test_loader.rb" "test/my_plugin_test.rb" So it obviously sees my test file, but none of the tests inside get run, I just get back to my console prompt. What am I missing here?   • Question about how to implement a c# host application with a plugin-like architecture

    I want to have an application that works as a Host to many other small applications. Each one of those applications should work as kind of plugin to this main application. I call them plugins not in the sense they add something to the main application, but because they can only work with this Host application as they depend on some of its services. My idea was to have each of those plugins run in a different app domain. The problem seems to be that my host application should have a set of services that my plugins will want to use and from what is my understanding making data flow in and out from different app domains is not that great of a thing. On one hand I'd like them to behave as stand-alone applications(although, as I said, they need to use lots of times the host application services), but on the other hand I'd like that if any of them crashes, my main application wouldn't suffer from it. What is the best (.NET) approach to this kind of situation? Make them all run on the same AppDomain but each one in a different Thread? Use different AppDomains? One for each "plugin"? How would I make them communicate with the Host Application? Any other way of doing this? Although speed is not an issue here, I wouldn't like for function calls to be that much slower than they are when we're working with just a regular .NET application. Thanks
