I was wondering if the object is of nonclass type, what function will be called? Similarly in C, what function is called when passing values or address of variables into a function?   • Rapid taps on an OpenGL ES app introducing input delay

    I am starting out writing a 2D game in OpenGL ES, and I have encountered an odd problem: if I rapidly tap the touchscreen, the input starts lagging behind the display. The more times I tap, the more delay it causes between the input and any indication of that input onscreen. It only happens if I intentionally tap very rapidly, but not from tapping and dragging with any number of fingers. What could be causing this? Excessive details follow: Both accelerometer input and taps are delayed by just tapping. The only events I am responding to are touchesBegan (below) in my EAGLView and accelerometer:(UIAccelerometer *)accelerometer didAccelerate:(UIAcceleration *)acceleration in my Game object. There doesn't seem to be any upper limit to the amount of delay: I've gotten up to 12 seconds of delay by tapping rapidly with five fingers. I have not seen any drops in framerate (it stays constantly at 60 fps) in the OpenGL ES tool in Instruments or by taking 1/the time between updates. Possibly relevant code: - (void) drawView:(id) sender { [game update:allTouches]; [renderer render:game]; } -(void)touchesBegan:(NSSet *)touches withEvent:(UIEvent *)event { allTouches = [event allTouches]; } allTouches is a pointer that gets passed to my Game every update, which passes it to each GameObject in their update methods.

  • Decoding http response with certificate

    Hi all, I'm new to php and I need to authenticate to a SSO server. The SSO server is a .Net one, using a SSL certificate. When I go back from the SSO server, the response is encoded. I have the key of the certificate of course, but how could I decrypt the response ?   • iOS Core Data migration: moving something from an entity into a file

    I have a scenario where I'm moving the contents of a blob stored in a core data entity into a file. I need a way to export that data during a migration, where I know the entity that's being converted and save the blob to a file, writing the location of that file into the converted entity's appropriate attribute. I can't seem to find a way to do this. The docs regarding the Three Stage Migration seem to indicate what can be done, but I'm not sure where to define things, or what exactly to define.

  • JQuery Accordion - bottom-up in stead of top-down

    Hi there, I have a question about the accordion plugin for jQuery. Basically, I've got it to work on my site nicely, there's just one thing that I'd have liked it to do and that is bottom-up opening in stead of top-down. What I mean by that is that my 3 buttons just stand in the vertical menu (div) in the bottom. And when you click it, they'll slide open but upwards, not downwards. Is there a way to achieve this easily? I've gone through the documentation, but can't find any native support for it, so I was wondering if it was possible to do it in the javascript of the plugin itself. Thanks in advance.

Step to reproduce : Create simple winforms app Add a button In click event, do : timer1.Interval = 1000; timer1.Tick += timer1_Tick; timer1.Start(); void timer1_Tick(object sender, EventArgs e) { ThreadPool.QueueUserWorkItem(delegate { StringCollection paths = new StringCollection { @"c:\my.txt", @"c:\my.png" }; Clipboard.SetFileDropList(paths); }); } The exception tells me : Current thread must be set to single thread apartment (STA) mode before OLE calls can be made. Ensure that your Main function has STAThreadAttribute marked on it. But the main has already the [STAThread] attribute. How to solve it ? Thanks in advance for any help

  • joomla! migration

    I have a Joomla! installation on a remote site and I want to run it locally. I'm running Joomla! locally on a Mac through a standard MAMP installation: Joomla 1.5.12 PHP 5.2.6 MySQL 5.0.41 Apache 2.0.59 OS X 10.5.8 I've added a configuration file to the local Joomla! directory with all the correct local settings, database name, database user-name, database password etc. etc. I've tried a lot of different settings. I've also recreated the remote database locally, ensuring everything copied correctly. I followed a few different sets of instructions with roughly the same steps on how to do the migration. All of the above has not worked for me; at best I get bits of text from the site rendered in the browser. Other times I get SQL errors. What I want is for an already set up remote Joomla! installation to run on my own local machine. Does anyone have any advice as to how to get this working, it'd be very much appreciated? Thanks.

  • Google Chrome does not honor cache-policy in page header if the page is displayed in a FRAME

    No matter what I do: <meta http-equiv="Cache-Control" content="no-cache" /> <meta http-equiv="Expires" content="Fri, 30 Apr 2010 11:12:01 GMT" /> <meta http-equiv="Expires" content="0" /> <HTTP-EQUIV="PRAGMA" CONTENT="NO-STORE" /> Google Chrome does not reload any page according to the page's internal cache policy if the page is displayed in a frame. It is as though the meta tags are not even there. Google Chrome seems to be ignoring these tags. Since I've gotten answers to this question on other forums where the person responding has ignored the operative condition, I will repeat it: this behavior occurs when the page is displayed in a frame. I was using the latest released version and have since upgraded to 5.0.375.29 beta but the behavior is the same in both versions. Would someone please care to confirm one way or another the behavior you are seeing with framesets and the caching/expiration policies given in meta tags? Thanks

  • TestNG - Factories and Dataproviders

    Background Story I'm working at a software firm developing a test automation framework to replace our old spaghetti tangled system. Since our system requires a login for almost everything we do, I decided it would be best to use @BeforeMethod, @DataProvider, and @Factory to setup my tests. However, I've run into some issues. Sample Test Case Lets say the software system is a baseball team roster. We want to test to make sure a user can search for a team member by name. (Note: I'm aware that BeforeMethods don't run in any given order -- assume that's been taken care of for now.) @BeforeMethod public void setupSelenium() { // login with username & password // acknowledge announcements // navigate to search page } @Test(dataProvider="players") public void testSearch(String playerName, String searchTerm) { // search for "searchTerm" // browse through results // pass if we find playerName // fail (Didn't find the player) } This test case assumes the following: The user has already logged on (in a BeforeMethod, most likely) The user has already navigated to the search page (trivial, before method) The parameters to the test are associated with the aforementioned login The Problems So lets try and figure out how to handle the parameters for the test case. Idea #1 This method allows us to associate dataproviders with usernames, and lets us use multiple users for any specific test case! @Test(dataProvider="players") public void testSearch(String user, String pass, String name, String search) { // login with user/pass // acknowledge announcements // navigate to search page // ... } ...but there's lots of repetition, as we have to make EVERY function accept two extra parameters. Not to mention, we're also testing the acknowledge announcements feature, which we don't actually want to test. Idea #2 So lets use the factory to initialize things properly! class BaseTestCase { public BaseTestCase(String user, String password, Object[][] data); } class SomeTest { @Factory public void ... } With this, we end up having to write one factory per test case... Although, it does let us have multiple users per test-case. Conclusion I'm about fresh out of ideas. There was another idea I had where I was loading data from an XML file, and then calling the methods from a program... but its getting silly. Any ideas?

    In MS SQL Server Management Studio 2005, running this code EXEC('SELECT * FROM employees WHERE employeeID = ' + CAST(3 AS VARCHAR)) gives this error: Incorrect syntax near 'CAST' However, if I do this, it works: DECLARE @temp VARCHAR(4000) SET @temp = 'SELECT * FROM employees WHERE employeeID = ' + CAST(3 AS VARCHAR) EXEC(@temp) I found an explanation here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1044831/t-sql-cannot-pass-concatenated-string-as-argument-to-stored-procedure According to the accepted answer, EXEC can take a local variable or a value as its argument, but not an expression. However, if that's the case, why does this work: DECLARE @temp VARCHAR(4000) SET @temp = CAST(3 AS VARCHAR) EXEC('SELECT * FROM employees WHERE employeeID = ' + @temp) 'SELECT * FROM employees WHERE employeeID = ' + @temp sure looks like an expression to me, but the code executes with no errors.

  • jQuery Dialog theme not being applied

    I'm using jquery-1.4.2.min.js and jquery-ui-1.8.1.custom.min.js. According to Firebug, both minimized scripts have been loaded. They both appear in the dropdown list on Firebug's Scripts tab. The dialog is launching, but there's no background and so the text below it shows through, and there's no "window" stuff at all, no titlebar, no X button. Just the floating/draggable text with a -close- link at the top left corner. I was under the impression from reading these pages http://jqueryui.com/demos/dialog/ http://jqueryui.com/themeroller/ that the UI theme-driven appearance would be automatically applied to the dialog when it was invoked using this barebones call: $('#dialog').dialog() I would be grateful for suggestions on how to troubleshoot this.     I do not want to double post a question; I was trying to post an add-on to my first question that I was looking for additional help. How does one go about this? Here is the original question. jQuery Hover Fade Button with an Active State Was hoping to see if there is a solution to the glitch I found. The problem I am now looking for help with is all other buttons still have the hover effect, but a button that was once active no longer does. <ul class="buttons"> <li><a class="button" href="#">button 1</a></li> <li><a class="button" href="#">button 2</a></li> <li><a class="button" href="#">button 3</a></li> </ul> Best way to explain this. If button 2 is clicked – it is now active. Buttons 1 and 3 will still hover. If you click on button 1 – it is now active and button 2 will no longer hover while button 3 will. Eventually when you go through the series of all buttons the animation hover is no longer.

  • Why does UIActionSheet cancel crahes my App?

    I try to use the UIActionSheet within my iPhone App but have the following problem. When I tap the cancel button "I don't", the app crashes. When I remove the NSLog statement from the actionSheet:clickedButtonAtIndex: it does not. The "Yes, do it" button works just fine and I see the log statement in the console.     I am getting Drupal messages stuck permanently in session, so that after being displayed they are not cleared. The unsetting code in function drupal_get_messages in bootstrap.inc is firing - It's as if the session is sleeping (i.e. serializing to disk) before the messages array is cleared. Have you witnessed such a thing? UPDATE The call that commits the session starts from drupal_page_footer at the bottom of index.php - for some reason this is executing twice per request! once with the emptied messages and then again with the messages back in the array.

  • Is it possible to set a parameterized build or pass an environment variable via a hudson build trigger?

    I'd like to use hudson to trigger a "promotion" of a build. The build would be a simple script that just copies a release candidate installer file from one location to another. (development dir to release/stable dir) Our build server is not on the public internet, but I want to be able to send an email or a text message or an IM with the build number to hudson, which will parse the build number and then do the copy/move. In looking at the jabber/IM plugin it does not look like this is possible (the parameter part) Has anyone solved this in some way? Should I use some other mechanism? I would prefer not to have to do the manual steps each time (SCP/FTP, etc) - I just want any QA team member to be able to trigger the build server to do the promotion.

    One particular quirk of the (otherwise quite powerful) re module in Python is that re.split() will never split a string on a zero-length match, for example if I want to split a string along word boundaries: >>> re.split(r"\s+|\b", "Split along words, preserve punctuation!")   • Options for header in raw byte file.

    I have a large raw data file (up to 1GB) which contains raw samples from a USB data logger. I need to store extra information relating to the file (sample rate, description, trigger point, last seek position etc) and was looking into adding this as a some sort of header. The header file should ideally be human readable and flexible so I've so far ruled out some sort of binary serialization into a header. I also want to avoid two separate files as they could end up separated when copied or backed up. I remembered somebody telling me that newer *.*x Microsoft Office documents are actually a number of files in a zip. Is there a simple way to achieve this? Could I still keep the quick seek times to the raw file?
