How to improve the use of Delphi Frames

I've used frames in Delphi for years, and they are one of the most powerful features of the VCL, but standard use of them seems to have some risk such as: It's easy to accidentally move or edit the frame sub-components on a frame's host form without realising that you are 'tweaking' with the frame - I know this does not affect the original frame code, but it's generally not what you would want. When working with the frame you are still exposed to its sub-components for visual editing, even when that frame is years old and should not be touched. So I got to thinking.... Is there a way of 'grouping' components such that their positions are 'locked'? This would be useful for finished forms as well as frames. Often other developers return code to me where only the form bounds have changed and even they did not intend any change. Is there any way of turning a frame and its components into a single Delphi component? If so, the frame internals would be completely hidden and its useability would increase further. I'm interested in any thoughts... Brian.

HTML Purifier: Removing an element conditionally based on its attributes

As per the HTML Purifier smoketest, 'malformed' URIs are occasionally discarded to leave behind an attribute-less anchor tag, e.g. <a href="javascript:document.location='http://www.google.com/'">XSS</a> becomes <a>XSS</a> ...as well as occasionally being stripped down to the protocol, e.g. <a href="http://1113982867/">XSS</a> becomes <a href="http:/">XSS</a> While that's unproblematic, per se, it's a bit ugly. Instead of trying to strip these out with regular expressions, I was hoping to use HTML Purifier's own library capabilities / injectors / plug-ins / whathaveyou. Point of reference: Handling attributes Conditionally removing an attribute in HTMLPurifier is easy. Here the library offers the class HTMLPurifier_AttrTransform with the method confiscateAttr(). While I don't personally use the functionality of confiscateAttr(), I do use an HTMLPurifier_AttrTransform as per this thread to add target="_blank" to all anchors. // more configuration stuff up here $htmlDef = $htmlPurifierConfiguration->getHTMLDefinition(true); $anchor = $htmlDef->addBlankElement('a'); $anchor->attr_transform_post[] = new HTMLPurifier_AttrTransform_Target(); // purify down here HTMLPurifier_AttrTransform_Target is a very simple class, of course. class HTMLPurifier_AttrTransform_Target extends HTMLPurifier_AttrTransform { public function transform($attr, $config, $context) { // I could call $this->confiscateAttr() here to throw away an // undesired attribute $attr['target'] = '_blank'; return $attr; } } That part works like a charm, naturally. Handling elements Perhaps I'm not squinting hard enough at HTMLPurifier_TagTransform, or am looking in the wrong place(s), or generally amn't understanding it, but I can't seem to figure out a way to conditionally remove elements. Say, something to the effect of: // more configuration stuff up here $htmlDef = $htmlPurifierConfiguration->getHTMLDefinition(true); $anchor = $htmlDef->addElementHandler('a'); $anchor->elem_transform_post[] = new HTMLPurifier_ElementTransform_Cull(); // add target as per 'point of reference' here // purify down here With the Cull class extending something that has a confiscateElement() ability, or comparable, wherein I could check for a missing href attribute or a href attribute with the content http:/. HTMLPurifier_Filter I understand I could create a filter, but the examples (Youtube.php and ExtractStyleBlocks.php) suggest I'd be using regular expressions in that, which I'd really rather avoid, if it is at all possible. I'm hoping for an onboard or quasi-onboard solution that makes use of HTML Purifier's excellent parsing capabilities. Returning null in a child-class of HTMLPurifier_AttrTransform unfortunately doesn't cut it. Anyone have any smart ideas, or am I stuck with regexes? :)

Problems getting text from an openWysiwyg enabled TextBox

I have a multiline text box on a form. I dropped in the js file for openWYSIWYG and attached it to the textbox. When I submit the form, the text box has no value. I'm having problems finding documentation on this library. Has anyone else used this who would be able to direct me as to where I can troubleshoot this issue. Facebook failing on XFBML call using Yii Framework

Problems with zend-tool reporting that providers are not valid

I have recently setup XAMPP 1.7.3 and ZendFramework 1.10.4 on a new computer and many of the commands that I normally use now fail. Here are the steps I used to setup and test ZF. First I added the ZF library folder (C:\xampp\php\ZendFramework-1.10.4\library) to the include path in php.ini. Then I added the ZF bin folder (C:\xampp\php\ZendFramework-1.10.4\bin) to my Path system variable. To test that everything is configured correctly I ran the command "zf show version" from the command line. The result is "Zend Framework Version: 1.9.6". Immediately something appears to be wrong. The file that is downloaded is "ZendFramework-1.10.4.zip" and the reported version is 1.9.6. I have re-downloaded the latest version (1.10.4) and removed old copy. Still the incorrect version number problem persisted. Having done some research there is a bug in the ZF knowledgebase that version 1.10.3 reports a wrong version number. So that may explain the version number problem. Moving forward I tried to run some zf-tool commands and certain commands reports that the action or provider is not valid. Is there such a tool for testing

Say one has a structural codebase where lots of the code is in GUI control events and has no tests. So such code, to my knowledge is not suitable for unit testing Is there a tool that can test each routine automatically replacing references to code elements external to the routine (be they functions, variables or GUI controls) with appropriate mocks(?) and record the results in a database for later comparison after code changes? So the testing program would have the duty of writing, running and reporting tests with minimal intervention?

Is it more secure to use asp.net controls or does not matter. On other words, is it more secure to use asp.net controls instead of html element to deliver data or receive data from/to server side or no differences?

Grails - Simple hasMany Problem - How does 'save' work?

My problem is this: I want to create a grails domain instance, defining the 'Many' instances of another domain that it has. How to do custom display and auto-select in django admin multi-select field?

I'm new to django, so please feel free to tell me if I'm doing this incorrectly. I am trying to create a django ordering system. My order model: class Order(models.Model): ordered_by = models.ForeignKey(User, limit_choices_to = {'groups__name': "Managers", 'is_active': 1}) in my admin ANY user can enter an order, but ordered_by must be someone in the group "managers" (this is the behavior I want). Now, if the logged in user happens to be a manager I want it to automatically fill in the field with that logged in user. Do I need to use the super() function somehow to pass on this info? or something completely different?

I don't want the URL to show the action name and parameter. I simply want to show "Summary" which is what I have hard coded in the URL. How do I achieve this?

What do this colors represent? How to get Facebook share behavior with Facebook Connect on iPhone

With the standard share at http://www.facebook.com/sharer.php one only needs to specify a URL. Title and thumbnail are automatically pulled from the web page (perhaps with the help of meta tags). With Facebook Connect (I am using the iPhone SDK), I need to supply everything explicitly (URL, title, caption, description, images, etc.). Is there a way to emulate the "share" behavior with Facebook Connect, i.e. let Facebook pull the missing elements from the page being shared itself?

JSF 2.0: Validate equality of 2 InputSecret Fields (confirm password) without writing Code?

I'm developing a pure JavaEE6 application with JSF 2.0 and Glassfish. My JSF implementation is Primefaces (beside Mojarra provided by Glassfish). I want to verify if the values of 2 password fields in a JSF form are equal. With Seam, there is the neat component <s:validateEquality for="pw1"/>. I want do to the same without Seam, just using JSF (or maybe a component of a JSF library). Until now i only saw examples which validate the form with a custom validator. But i would like to compare the fields without writing Java code or Javascript code. Is that possible? wpf and win32 overlapping issue

I have a wpf Window, which has wpf control and windows forms control hosted in WindowsFormsHost. The expected behavior is that the WPF control should be rendered on top of WindowsFormsHost. Textbox autofill not in correct position in safari

Hello All, Has anyone experience this weird issue on safari? Textbox autofill is not at its correct position, please see screenshot below. I have been searching for answers in google for almost a day, still no luck. This is the built-in autofill feature of safari. Input boxes with transparent background are not clickable in IE8

I have an absolutely positioned input box in a form. The input box has transparent background: .form-page input[type="text"] { border: none; background-color: transparent; /* Other stuff: font-weight, font-size */ } Surprisingly, I cannot select this input box by clicking on it in IE8. It works perfectly in Firefox however. The same happens for background: none. When I change the background color: background-color: red; It works fine, so this is issue associated with transparent background. Setting a border makes the input box selectable by clicking on its border only. Is there a workaround to have clickable input box with transparent background working in IE8? Update: Example. Uncomment background-color and the inputbox is selectable. XSLT 1.0 recursion

I'm stuck with recursion, was wondering if anyone can help me out with it. I have <Receipts> and <Deposits> elements, that are not verbose, i.e. that a <Receipts> element doesn't have an attribute to show what <Deposit> it is towards. I need to figure out <Deposits> "still amount due" and when a last receipt towards it was paid if any. I'm trying to do it with the following code: The idea was to take 1st deposit and see if there are receipts. If the deposit isn't fully paid and there are more receipts - call that recorsive function with all the same params except now count in following receipt. If there aren't any more receipts or deposit is payed - process it correctly (add required attributes). Otherwise proceed with 2nd deposit. And so on. However, the XSLT crashes with error message that "a processor stack has overflowed - possible cause is infinite template recursion" I would really appreciate any help/teps... I'm not that great with recursion and can't understand why mine here doesn't work.
