  • Virtual guest does not have network access in cafe.

    My Virtualbox guest OS (Ubuntu on ubuntu host) does not connect to the internet when I have wifi access through an internet cafe system. By this, I mean where your browser redirects to an internal web page where you can enter a code. On the guest, I can successfully connect to the virtual network adapter, but I do not get internet access, nor a redirect to the internal web page. I use OpenDNS for the host. I have no problems when connecting through ethernet or regular wifi. Can someone tell me any of: 1) How to fix the problem. 2) How such cafe systems work. 3) At least point me to a technical explanation of such a cafe system so I can begin to troubleshoot. Thanks!

  • Robust, Mature HTML Parser for PHP

    Are there any robust and mature HTML parsers available for PHP? A quick skimming of PEAR didn't turn anything up (lots of classes for generating HTML, not so much for consuming), and Google taught me a lot of people have started and then abandoned a variety of parser projects. Not interested in XML parsers (unless then can consume non-well formed HTML) or hacking it on my own with regular expressions. Clarification of Intent: I'm not interested in filtering of HTML content, I'm interesting in extracting information from HTML documents.

  • Adobe Air Debugger not visible

    Have a little conundrum, when I debug my air app. It goes through the build process and seemingly launches. I can see the process in windows task manager, but can not see the actual application. Kind of strange I know. If anyone has had the same problem and can offer a shortcut to success, I'd much appreciate a pointer. Thanks

  • How can I manage SQL CE databases in SQL Server Management Studio?

    I created a SDF (SQL CE) database with Visual Studio 2008 (Add / New Item / Local Database). Is it possible to edit this database with SQL Server Management Studio? I tried to attach it but it only offered .mdf and attaching a .sdf file results in "failed to retrieve data for this request". If so, is it possible to create SDF files with Management Studio as well? Or are we stuck with the simple interface of the Visual Studio 2008 database manager?

  • Tomcat on Windows

    Hi, I installed Tomcat 6.0.18 on Windows 2003 as a service. I try to set the CATALINA_OPTS environment variable but it seems to be ignored by Tomcat. Do I need to use the Tomcat Service Manager (procrun) instead? Is it normal that if I install Tomcat as a service it doesn't see the enviroment variables but it only wotks with procrun? THANKS

    Do i need to use try catch in my stored procedure to know where exactly in my procedure error has occured or can i achieve the same if i useSqlConnection.BeginTransaction in my ASP.NET form or simple try catch may be...??? I tried implementing try catch in my stored procedure..i m using sql server 2005 but it does not know TRY and CATCH keywords or ERROR_MESSAGE() function...i also installed sql server 2005 service manager but still it does not work.. if an error is thrown using RAISERROR method will the exception will be shown in my ASP.NET form??

    Hi all, Is it possible to simulate a USB drive with software only? I mean, for example, to expose a local memory space to the OS so the device manager will recognize it as a USB device. I'm not familiar with hardware implementation, but I'm sure that it is possible somehow to emulate the USB protocol. I began with this book - USB Design By Example.     If I run an audit on my sites with Google Chrome, I get this message in the Leverage browser caching section: The following resources are missing a cache expiration. Resources that do not specify an expiration may not be cached by browsers: A list of all the pictures follows. I get a similar notice in Leverage proxy caching: Consider adding a "Cache-Control: public" header to the following resources: Apart from pictures, I also get a notice about HTML, CSS and JavaScript files: The following resources are explicitly non-cacheable. Consider making them cacheable if possible: Its funny because I've worked hard to cache all static contents (except for pictures, where I just left Apache's default settings). Firefox does indeed store all these items in cache. Is there anything I should improve in my HTTP headers? Here's the complete header set of some items as loaded after removing the browser caché. Pictures use default settings I didn't really check before, the rest should be cachéd for three hours. I can set headers with both .htaccess and PHP.     I have a SQL Server Reporting Services report with an embedded image in the header. It works fine in preview mode and if I inspect the RDL file, it has the encoded image stream in there. However, when I deploy the report to the server and view the report in the Report Manager, the image shows with a broken X icon. Has anyone experienced this?

  • Google Analytic Metric to use for off-site banner click comparison

    I have all my off-site banner ads correctly campaign tracked/tagged but I want to know what metrics I should be looking at in the GA for the closest comparison to the ad servers clicks. I am pretty sure it wouldn't be Visits but I also see there is PageViews and UniquePageViews. My GA data is coming in way off from what the ad server manager people are telling my clicks are for said banners on their site. My other question is what type of percentage are other people seeing there data being off?

    In my web.config I have the Role Manager configured as follows: <roleManager enabled="true" cacheRolesInCookie="true" cookieName=".ASPROLES" cookieTimeout="30" cookiePath="/" cookieRequireSSL="false" cookieSlidingExpiration="true" cookieProtection="All"> however in our custom RoleProvider it would seems that the GetRolesForUser method is always being called, rather than as I would have expected, the RoleManager serving up the roles from its cookie. We're using something like to get the roles for a user: string[] myroles = Role.GetRolesForUser("myuser"); Is there something that I'm missing in the configuration, or in the use of the RoleManager Thanks in advance

  • MSDTC and Multiple Databases with Entity Framework.

    In my code I'm attempting to use a transaction using TransactionScope with Entity Framework. While in this transaction we are opening a regular SQL connection to a seperate server and database. When the conn.Open() is called we get an Error: "Network access for Distributed Transaction Manager (MSDTC) has been disabled. Please enable DTC for network access in the security configuration for MSDTC using the Componet Services Administrative tool." However, MSDTC is enabled and running on the Server.
