• Debugging StoreKit functionality without a device

  Hi! I'm porting an app with in-app purchase functionality from the iPhone to the iPad, but the simulator doesn't handle any StoreKit calls (they fail immediately with a warning). Since there are no iPads available yet, I can't use a device for debugging. I have thought of a few alternatives: Use the iPhone code as is. This is the safe bet since everything already works on the iPhone, but it will not feel right on the iPad (there are several ViewControllers in a NavigationController involved on the iPhone, but everything could fit on one screen on the pad). Write a test framework for StoreKit. I actually started doing this, but I won't be able to finish it in time. Submit untested code and pray. Nah, just kidding -- that's not an option :) So, any thoughts? Has anyone else written a test framework for this kind of thing? I googled a bit but couldn't find anything. I'm grateful for any thoughts on this!

  I am currently trying to figure out how to get a batch file to run correctly in Windows 7. I have looked on the Internet and have not had much success in finding any useful information on the issue I am encountering. The batch file is to open the workstation for students to use and it looks like it loads but the Welcome/Login Screen never appears as it should. I know it is connecting to the TDMS server as I can see it on the server. The only thing it does not do is bring up the window which is necessary to login to the testing server.   I have a simple EJB application that I can deploy and test on a local WebLogic instance (v10.3.0.0) without problems. I need to deploy this on a remote WL server (v10.3.3.0), and test it from a local machine. • Links on SharePoint 2010 Master Page not changed based on Alternate Access Mappings

  We are creating a custom branded Master Page in SharePoint 2010. To make the page similar to a legacy page we have implemented an html based custom dropdown navigation menu we had in place directly on the Master Page (consisted of basic HTML elements ULs and LIs with A tags styled with a CSS class). I assumed the links from the basic HTML on the page would be subject to Alternate Access Mappings currently in place, but it seems to not be the case. On a test page opened in 3 different URLs (http://sharepoint2010, http://sharepoint2010.mydomain.com, https://sharepoint2010.mydomain.com) the links from a WIKI page are modified as I expected, but the links from the Custom Navigation Menu (plain HTML on the Master Page) are not modified. I can see where that would be useful... But is there a way that I can add links on the MasterPage in a way that SharePoint parses them first, making them subject to Alternate Access Mapping translation? I tried placing a link inside a SPLinkButton control, but it didn't achieve the desired behavior. e.g. <ul id="navmenu"> <li><SharePoint:SPLinkButton runat="server" NavigateUrl="http://sharepoint2010">sharepoint link</SharePoint:SPLinkButton></li> <li><a href="http://sharepoint2010">sharepoint2010</a></li> <li>test</li> </ul> When I access the page via https://sharepoint2010.mydomain.com the links above are still http://sharepoint2010 rather than https://sharepoint2010.mydomain.com Any thoughts? • EWS: RemoveExtendedProperty throws error when used on an occurrence of a recurring appointment

  I am developing an application that syncs an exchange calendar to another calendar. I put extended properties on the exchange appointments in order to preserve the mapping between appointments in the two calendars. Everything is working fine until I try to remove an extended property from an occurrence of a recurring appointment. When I try doing this, I get the error: The delete action is not supported for this property.   Here's a simple gunit test for a portion of my tree grammar which generates a flat list of nodes: objectOption walks objectOption: <<one:"value">> -> (one "value") Although you define a tree in ANTLR's rewrite syntax using a caret (i.e. ^(ROOT child...)), gunit matches trees without the caret, so the above represents a tree and it's not surprising that it fails: it's a flat list of nodes and not a tree. This results in a test failure: 1 failures found: test2 (objectOption walks objectOption, line17) - expected: (one \"value\") actual: one \"value\" Another option which seems intuitive is to leave off the parenthesis, like this: objectOption walks objectOption: <<one:"value">> -> one "value" But gunit doesn't like this syntax. It seems to result in a parse failure in the gunit grammar: line 17:20 no viable alternative at input 'one' line 17:24 missing ':' at 'value' line 0:-1 no viable alternative at input '<EOF>' java.lang.NullPointerException at org.antlr.gunit.OutputTest.getExpected(OutputTest.java:65) at org.antlr.gunit.gUnitExecutor.executeTests(gUnitExecutor.java:245) ...   I'm trying to convert the first page of a PDF to a JPG. I'm pretty sure I got this to work with certain PDFs, but is it really possible that certain PDFs are made incorrectly and cannot be converted? • VS2008 javascript debugger IE8 "there is no source code available for the current location"

  I have almost the same problem as this unanswered question. The only difference is I'm using VS2008, but I'm in an MVC project calling this javascript function: function CompanyChange(compCtrl) { alert(compCtrl.value); debugger; var test; for (var i = 0; i < document.all.length; i++) { test = document.all[i]; } } I hit the alert, then I get the message "there is no source code available for the current location." At which point the page becomes unresponsive and I have to manually stop the debugger just to shut it down. I've logged into another machine and ran this exact code and it works fine, I hit the debugger and can step through. I've checked to make sure all settings in VSToolsOptionsDebugging are identical as well as IEOptionsAdvanced and they are. Both machines are Windows 7 Enterprise edition 32-bit, VS2008, IE8. I've also tried attaching a process manually in VS, and using the 'Developer Tools' in IE which didn't work (said there already was a process attached). I was hoping someone may have had this problem and found a work-around because I've already done a lot of searching and tried all the options I've read. Anyone else run into this? Thank you, Jeff

  Hi, I have a unexpected problem. I had create a war with grails war. Then I had deployed in Tomcat. For my surprise the crud works fine but I don't know what persistence is using. So I did this test: Compare grails prod run-app with grails prod run-war. The first works fine, and does conect with the mysql database. The other don't.   I am trying to render a simple hyperlink that links to a named anchor within the page, for example: <a href="#namedAnchor"scroll to down</a <a name="namedAnchor"down</a The problem is that when I use an ASP.NET control like asp:HyperLink or HtmlAnchor, the href="#namedAnchor" is rendered as href="controls/#namedAnchor" (where controls is the subdirectory where the user control containing the anchor is). • Debugging Cactus Tests in Eclipse

  Side note: This is inherited code, I didn't do any of the setup and am new to the project. I'm trying to set up remote debugging in Eclipse for these unit tests that use Cactus. I've read around a bit (but I can't seem to find any REAL information how to set this up). Closest I've found is here (http://www.eclipse.org/webtools/community/tutorials/CactusInWTP/CactusInWTP.html), but it just says to Debug - Debug on Server, but nowhere does it say where the debug port is set or anything, and I can't find anything on how to enable this, set it. Just asking to see if anyone has set this up before, it would really help stepping through the code rather than just logging. The plugin (http://jakarta.apache.org/cactus/integration/eclipse/runner_plugin.html) Looks promising, but I also don't even know where to download it, it doesn't link to a location -.- The project uses ant, cactus, and I'm using Eclipse. • How to mock HTTPSession/FlexSession with TestNG and some Mocking Framework

  I'm developing a web application running on Tomcat 6, with Flex as Frontend. I'm testing my backend with TestNG. Currently, I'm trying to test the following method in my Java-Backend: public UserPE login(String mail, String password) { UserPE dbuser = findUserByMail(mail); if (dbuser == null || !dbuser.getPassword().equals(password)) throw new RuntimeException("Invalid username and/or password"); // Save logged in user FlexSession session = FlexContext.getFlexSession(); session.setAttribute("user", dbuser); return dbuser; } The method needs access to the FlexContext which only exists when i run it on the Servlet container (don't bother if you don't know Flex, it's more a Java-Mocking question in general). Otherwise i get a Nullpointer exception when calling session.setAttribute(). Unfortunately, I cannot set the FlexContext from outside, which would make me able to set it from my tests. It's just obtained inside the method. What would be the best way to test this method with a Mocking framework, without changing the method or the class which includes the method? And which framework would be the easiest for this use case (there are hardly other things i have to mock in my app, it's pretty simple)? Sorry I could try out all of them for myself and see how i could get this to work, but i hope that i'll get a quickstart with some good advices!

  I made the following test for my class: var mock = new Mock<IRandomNumberGenerator>(); mock.Setup(framework => framework.Generate(0, 50)) .Returns(7.0) var rnac = new RandomNumberAverageCounter(mock.Object, 1, 100); rnac.Run(); double result = rnac.GetAverage(); Assert.AreEqual(result, 7.0, 0.1); The problem here was that I changed my mind about what range of values Generate(int min, int max) would use. I ran the test and it failed. I know that that is what it's supposed to happen but I was left wondering if isn't there a way to launch an exception or throw in a message when trying to run the method params. Also, if I want to run this Generate() method 10 times with different values (let's say, from 1 to 10), will I have to make 10 mock setups or something, or is there a special method for it? The best I could think of is this (which isn't bad, I'm just asking if there is other better way): for (int i = 1; i < 10; ++i) { mock.Setup(framework => framework.Generate(1, 100)) .Returns((double)i); } Thanks

• GWT - ListBox - pre-selecting an item

  Hey there Stackoverflow, I got a doubt regarding pre-selecting(setSelectedIndex(index)) an item in a ListBox, Im using Spring + GWT. I got a dialog that contains a painel, this panel has a flexpanel, in which I've put a couple ListBox, this are filled up with data from my database. But this painel is for updates of an entity in my database, thus I wanted it to pre-select the current properties for this items, alowing the user to change at will. I do the filling up in the update method of the widget. I tried setting the selectedItem in the update method, but it gives me an null error. I've searched a few places and it seems that the listbox are only filled at the exact moment of the display. Thus pre-selecting would be impossible. I thought about some event, that is fired when the page is displayed. onLoad() doesnt work.. Anyone have something to help me out in here? Thx in advance, Rodrigo Dellacqua

  I have made a burn bundle which encapsulates 2 msi (msi1 , msi2) . In the UI I use checkboxes to ask the user to select which MSI to install. Now if user selects one of the msi to install, installation goes fine. • Sharp architecture; Accessing Validation Results

  I am exploring Sharp Architecture and I would like to know how to access the validation results after calling Entity.IsValid(). I have two scenarios e.g. 1) If the entity.IsValid() return false, I would like to add the errors to ModelState.AddModelError() collection in my controller. E.g. in the Northwind sample we have an EmployeesController.Create() action when we do employee.IsValid(), how can I get access to the errors? public ActionResult Create(Employee employee) { if (ViewData.ModelState.IsValid && employee.IsValid()) { employeeRepository.SaveOrUpdate(employee); } // .... } [I already know that when an Action method is called, modelbinder enforces validation rules(nhibernate validator attributes) as it parses incoming values and tries to assign them to the model object and if it can't parse the incoming values  then it register those as errors in modelstate for each model object property. But what if i have some custom validation. Thats why we do ModelState.IsValid first.] 2) In my test methods I would like to test the nhibernate validation rules as well. I can do entity.IsValid() but that only returns true/ false. I would like to Assert against the actual error not just true/ false. In my previous projects, I normally use a wrapper Service Layer for Repositories, and instead of calling Repositories method directly from controller, controllers call service layer methods which in turn call repository methods. In my Service Layer all my custom validation rules resides and Service Layer methods throws a custom exception with a NameValueCollection of errors which I can easily add to ModelState in my controller. This way I can also easily implement sophisticated business rules in my service layer as well. I kow sharp architecture also provides a Service Layer project. But what I am interested in and my next question is: How I can use NHibernate Vaidators to implement sophisticated custom business rules (not just null,empty, range etc.) and make Entity.IsValid() to verify those rules too ?

• TimoutException occurs over a network but not locally

  I have a program with three WCF services and when I run them locally (i.e: Server and Clients are all on localhost) everything works. However when I test them across a network I get a TimoutException on two services but not the other. I've disabled the firewalls on all the machines involved in the test. I can both ping the server and access the wsdl "You have created a service" webpage from the client The service that works uses a BasicHttpBinding with streaming and the two which don't work use WSDualHttpBinding. The Services that use WSDualHttpBinding both have CallbackContracts. I apologise for the vagueness of this question but I'm not really sure what code to include or where to even start looking for the solution to this. • Regarding: PKCS7, X509 and DER

  Hi, I am novice to the "World of cryptography". I started working with OPENSSL. I need some information and basically I do have some doubts. I have a DER format file. I read the file using following command, "openssl x509 -inform DER -in filename.der -text" I got what I supposed to be. Following things I wanted to know: 1. What is the difference between PKCS7, DER and X509 ? (My understanding is, DER is format, X509 is certificate, and PKCS7 is the standard) I wrote a test file which accepts the DER file and outputs the version, serial number, Subject, Validity date before and Validity date after, But I am unable to get certificate verified. Following is the API Used. int i = X509_verify(X509 *x509 , X509_get_pubkey(X509 *x509)); But 'i' value is 'i' < 0(zero) This is why I am getting "Signature verification problems". How to overcome this? In My test file I am unable to read the "Signature Algorithm", "Subject Public Key Info", "X509v3 extensions" and "-----BEGIN CERTIFICATE-----" to "-----END CERTIFICATE-----" Please give some inputs. • CSS div/overflow Question: Why does the first HTML file work but not the second?

  Notice how the first HTML/CSS works when you re-size the browser horizontally. It will shrink no further than around 800 pixels, but it will expand as far as you drag the right edge of the browser. It will also correctly overflow the table at the top and scroll it horizontally. The thing I don't like about the first code snippet is where the scrollbar is. I want it to show up within the borders of the fieldset, so even if I narrow the browser down to 800 pixels wide, I can see both the left and right sides of the fieldset's border. The second code snippet is exactly the same as the first except I add another div tag to the mix, inside of the field set and around the grid. Notice how the top fieldset's width won't correctly shrink when you make the viewport of your browser narrower. Any ideas on why it doesn't work, what I can do to get it to work like the first code snippet? I don't think I'm describing this clearly, but if you run the two side by side, and expand and contract the horizontal edge of your browser windows, you'll see the differences between the two. I'm pretty new to CSS and HTML layout, so my understanding of why CSS handles sizing the way it does in some situations is still really confusing to me.   My organisation is getting into the SOA world (a bit late, but that's what it's like here!) and we're looking into the ESB Toolkit 2.0 (we already have BizTalk Server 2009). We're keen on implementing UDDI (specifically, the UDDI Services v3.0 that ships with BTS 2009), but we're low on actual UDDI experience. We want to manage the ever-burgeoning number of web services we have across all our environments. What are the best practices for implementing UDDI? For example:- Would you implement a single highly-available resilient UDDI server that hosts all services and bindings, including test environment versions? Or would you implement separate UDDI repositories for test and production environments? I'm aware of the Oasis Technical Note v2.0 on WSDL and UDDI, but does anyone actually implement that? I.e. the abstract parts of the WSDL as tModels, the implementation parts of the WSDL as bindings? Would you go to the effort of capturing non-web service endpoints in UDDI, or just use it for WSDL? What are the "gotchas"?

I've read Web Connector manual and followed instructions but, when using authenticate function, I always get error "nvu", meaning that username or password are not valid.
