• BufferedImage & ColorModel in Java

  I am using a image processing library in java to manipulate images.The first step I do is I read an image and create a java.awt.Image.BufferedImage object. I do it in this way, BufferedImage sourceImage = ImageIO.read( new File( filePath ) ); The above code creates a BufferedImage ojbect with a DirectColorModel: rmask=ff0000 gmask=ff00 bmask=ff amask=0. This is what happens when I run the above code on my macbook. But when I run this same code on a linux machine (hosted server), this creates a BufferedImage object with ColorModel: #pixelBits = 24 numComponents = 3 color space = java.awt.color.ICC_ColorSpace@c39a20 transparency = 1 has alpha = false isAlphaPre = false. And I use the same jpg image in both the cases. I don't know why the color model on the same image is different when run on mac and linux. The colormodel for mac has 4 components and the colormodel for linux has 3 components.There is a problem arising because of this, the image processing library that I use always assumes that there are always 4 components in the colormodel of the image passed, and it throws array out of bounds exception when run on linux box. But on macbook, it runs fine. I am not sure if I am doing something wrong or there is a problem with the library. Please let me know your thoughts. Also ask me any questions if I am not making sense!

But not in my unit test project. In my unit test project, I test the encryptConnStr() method. it will call isConnStrEncrypted() method. Then exception (null pointer) will be thrown at this line: string connStr = config.ConnectionStrings.ConnectionStrings[connStrName].ConnectionString; I have to use index like this to pass the unit test: string connStr = config.ConnectionStrings.ConnectionStrings[0].ConnectionString; I remember it worked several days ago at the time I added above unit test. But now it give me an error. The unit test is not integrated with our daily auto build yet. We only have ONE connectionStr. It works with product but not in unit test. Don't know why. Anybody can explain to me?

• How can I dial GPRS/EDGE in Win CE

  Hello all. I am developing application in python on Windows CE which needs connection to the internet (via GPRS/EDGE). When I turn on the device, the internet connection is not active. It becomes active if I open internet explorer. I would like to activate connection in my application. I'm trying to do this with RasDial function over ctypes library, but I can't get it to work. Is this the right way or I should do something else? Below is my current code. The ResDial function keeps returning error 87 – Invalid parameter. I don't know anymore what is wrong with it. I would really appreciate any kind of help.   My problem is, i have a table User and Table Group (this table use to authorization for user - it mean when user belong to a group like admin, they can login into admincp and other user belong to group member, they just only read and write and can not login into admincp) each user maybe belong to many groups and each group has been contain many users and they have relationship are many to many I use hibernate for persistence storage. and struts 2 to handle business logic. When i want to implement login action from Struts2 how can i get value of group member belong to ? to compare with value i want to know?   In my appliation,I am opening an excel sheet to show one of my Excel documents to the user.But before showing the excel I am saving it to a folder in my local machine which in fact will be used for showwing. While the user closes the application I wish to close the opened excel files and delete all the excel files which are present in my local folder.For this, in the logout event I have written code to close all the opened files like shown below, Process[] processes = Process.GetProcessesByName(fileType); foreach (Process p in processes) { IntPtr pFoundWindow = p.MainWindowHandle; if (p.MainWindowTitle.Contains(documentName)) { p.CloseMainWindow(); p.Exited += new EventHandler(p_Exited); } } And in the process exited event I wish to delete the excel file whose process is been exited like shown below void p_Exited(object sender, EventArgs e) { string file = strOriginalPath; if (File.Exists(file)) { //Pdf issue fix FileStream fs = new FileStream(file, FileMode.Open, FileAccess.Read); fs.Flush(); fs.Close(); fs.Dispose(); File.Delete(file); } } But the problem is this exited event is not called at all.On the other hand if I delete the file after closing the MainWindow of the process I am getting an exception "File already used by another process". Could any help me on how to achieve my objective or give me an reason why the process exited event is not being called?

  The knob on vertical JSlider's on my Windows 7 machine (with native look-and-feel) is really, really tiny in both directions. Not just skinny but short as well. Can anyone confirm this?   Hi I created a WCF service which is hosted in windows service. I created a proxy using svcutil “svcutil.exe http://localhost:8000/ServiceModelSamples/FreeServiceWorld?wsdl” It generated an output.config file and proxy class. The output.config has the following element <client> <endpoint address="http://localhost:8000/ServiceModelSamples/FreeServiceWorld" binding="wsHttpBinding" bindingConfiguration="WSHttpBinding_IWeather" contract="IWeather" name="WSHttpBinding_IWeather"> <identity> <servicePrincipalName value="host/D471DTRV.ustr.com" /> </identity> </endpoint> </client> I created a website (as client) and added a new C# file (MyFile.cs) into it. I copied the contents of the proxy class into MyFile.cs. [The output.config is not copied to the web site] In the code behnid of aspx, I am using the following code WeatherClient client= new WeatherClient("WSHttpBinding_IWeather"); It throws an exception as “Could not find endpoint element with name 'WSHttpBinding_IWeather' and contract 'IWeather' in the ServiceModel client configuration section.” Could you please help me to understand the missing link here? I have a hierarchy of UITableViewControllers that use NSFetchedResultsController to populate the table, and when a particular row is selected, the detail view is shown. UITableView (MyMainEntity) UITableView (MyEntity) UITableView (MyEntity) detail view Both MyMainEntity UITableView and MyEntity UITableView use NSFetchedResultsController to show the records. Sometimes it crashes when i'm scrolling the tableView, and sometimes it crashes when i try to open the detail view. I can navigate to the MyEntity detail view multiple times before application crashes. What does this error mean? and how can i fix it!?

• How would I authenticate against a local windows user on another machine in an ASP.NET application?

  In my ASP.NET application, I need to be able to authenticate/authorise against local Windows users/groups (ie. not Active Directory) on a different machine, as well as be able to change the passwords of said remote local Windows accounts. Yes, I know Active Directory is built for this sort of thing, but unfortunately the higher ups have decreed it needs to be done this way (so authentication against users in a database is out as well). I've tried using DirectoryEntry and WinNT like so: DirectoryEntry user = new DirectoryEntry(String.Format("WinNT://{0}/{1},User", serverName, username), username, password, AuthenticationTypes.Secure) but this results in an exception when you try to log in more than one user: Multiple connections to a server or shared resource by the same user, using more than one user name, are not allowed. Disconnect all previous connections to the server or shared resource and try again. I've tried making sure my DirectoryEntries are used inside a using block, so they're disposed properly, but this doesn't seem to fix the issue. Plus, even if that did work it is possible that two users could hit that line of code concurrently and therefore try to create multiple connections, so it would be fragile anyway. Is there a better way to authenticate against local Windows accounts on a remote machine, authorise against their groups, and change their passwords? Thanks for your help in advance.

  I know this has been asked a million times but I think I need to make it a million and one. I am getting "A generic error has occurred in GDI+" when trying to save a new bitmap. • How to delete a row from a typed dataset and save it to a database?

  I am doing this as a small project to learn about disconnected and connected models in .NET 4.0 and SQL Server 2008 R2. I have three tables: Companies (PK CompanyID) Addresses (PK AddressID, FK CompanyID) ContactPersons (PK ContactPersonID, FK CompanyID) CompanyID is assigned manually by the users. The other IDs are auto-generated. Companies has a one-to-many relationship with ContactPerson. I have set any changes to cascade. I display all records in Companies in a DataGridView and when a row is clicked, the corresponding records in ContactPersons are displayed in a second DataGridView. I have successfully implemented updating and inserting new records but I completely fail in my attempts to delete rows and save the changes to the database. I us a typed dataset. If I use this: DataRow[] contactPersonRows = m_SoldaCompaniesFileDataSet.ContactPersons.Select("ContactPersonID = " + this.m_CurrentContactPerson.ContactPersonID); m_SoldaCompaniesFileDataSet.ContactPersons.Rows.Remove(contactPersonRows[0]); The records are displayed properly in the DataGridView but are not saved in the database later. If I use this: DataRow row = m_SoldaCompaniesFileDataSet.ContactPersons.Rows.Find(this.m_CurrentContactPerson.ContactPersonID); row.Delete(); The records are set but I get an exeception: DeletedRowInaccessibleException, when I try to refresh the DataGridView. The exception pop-s up in the auto-generated dataset.design file. I am pretty much stuck at this point since yesterday. I cannot find anything anywhere that remotely resembles my problem. And I cannot understand actually what is going on.

If it is not obvious, the R.string.public_key_modulus is a copy/paste of the text in the Modulus element, same applies for exponent.

  I am using the Silverlight 4 Business Application Template. Object reference not set to an instance of an object. I assume that because I've logged out, User.UserLoginID is now null and is causing the exception. So... anybody know a good way for me to solve this? I don't really want to set the QueryParameter programmatically.

  Hello! I'm having trouble getting my head around sending multiple models to a view in mvc. My problem is the following. Using EF4 I have a table with attributes organised by category. Couldn't post an image :-( [Have a table called attributes (AttributeTitle, AttributeName, CategoryID) connected to a table called Category (CategoryTitle).] What I want to do is be able to edit an attribute entity and have a dropdown of categories to choose from. Somewhere here I thought that there should be a cleaner way to do this, and that if I could only send two models to the view instead of having to make a custom viewmodel. To sum it up: I want to edit my attribute and have a dropdown of all of the available categories. Any help much appreciated!

  After moving a Delphi 2009 application from a Windows 2003 / Citrix environment to a 64 bit Windows 2008 R2 environment (users now use RDP instead of Citrix), there are frequent runtime errors which are caused by a double exection of a menu item click handler. The first call of the event handler opens a modal form. Then the same event handler is triggered again and thus a runtime exception occurs since the visible form can not be made modal. • Replacing characters in a non well-formed XML body

  In a (Java) code that I'm working on, I sometimes deal with a non well-formed XML (represented as a Java String), such as: <root> <foo> bar & baz < quux </foo> </root> Since this XML will eventually need to be unmarshalled (using JAXB), obviously this XML as is will throw exception upon unmarshalling. What's the best way to replace the & and the < to its character entities? For &, it's as easy as: xml.replaceAll("&", "&amp;") However, for the < symbol, it's a bit tricky since obviously I don't want to replace the < that's used for the XML tag opening 'bracket'. Other than scanning the string and manually replacing < in the XML body with &lt;, what other option can you suggest?

• WCF publish/subscribe service, and ASP.NET MVC client

  I managed to develop a custom WCF service, using the publish / subscribe model, and hosted inside a managed windows service. Everything's working. I developed an interface as the service contract implementing a method definition marked as a non-one way operation contract (OperationContract(IsOneWay = false)]. This, to make possible returns an instance of a custom class derived from System.Web.Mvc.ActionResult. In the MVC app, event fires ok. It wraps inside an action method, (just the one defined in the interface), but, and this is my current problem, i believe that something relative to the execution context of the windows service (and the hosted wcf counterpart) blocks the execution of the action method in the MVC app. This is what i have until now (some pieces ripped off just to be more clear): /// Method definition for the contract's service. Maps to a MVC ActionMethod. [OperationContract(IsOneWay = false)] ActionResult Imagen(string data, CustomActionResult result); The class to hold an ActionResult derived class instance: public class ServiceEventArgsMvc : ServiceEventArgs { /// <summary> /// /// </summary> public CustomActionResult Result { get; set; } } And the code in the MVC client app: /// <summary> /// Just a simple class to hold an abstract ActionResult derived class instance. /// </summary> public ActionResult Image(string data, CustomActionResult result) { ViewData["data"] = data; return View(); } Ok. ActionMethod sucessfully executes...but when it's done (and usually expected obtain a reditection to a View named Image, like the action method), the WCF service throws a Timeout exception, making clear that he's still waiting for a response from the MVC client. The response never arrives, so the MVC app never finish his work (redirect to the "Image" view as expected). Any ideas?. Guess i'm missing something very simple, but i don't know what it could be. This is drivin' me nuts.

  Hey, I am hitting trouble constructing an XmlSerializer where the extra types contains types with the same Name (but unique Fullname). Below is an example that illustrated my scenario. Use XML attributes to specify a unique XML name and/or namespace for the type." Given that I am unable to alter the enum types, how can I construct an XmlSerializer that will serialize Car successfully?

Lets say I got an entity A with attribute aAttrib and a to-many relationship aRelat to another entity B with attribute bAttrib and a to-many relationship bRelat with entity A. Now I am building an interface with two tables one for entity A and another for entity B. The table for entity B has two columns one for bAttrib and one for the relationship aRelat. The aRelat-column should be a NSPopupButtonCell to display multiple aAttrib values. I'd like to set all the bindings in InterfaceBuilder in Table Column Bindings: -- I have two NSArrayController each for one entity: Object Controller Mode:Entity Array Controller Bindings: Parameters Managed Object Context bind to File's Owner -- One Table Cloumn with a PopUpButtonCell: TableCloumnBindings Content bind to Entity A with ControllerKey arrangedObjects; Content Values bind to Entity A with ModelKeyPath aAttrib Selected Object bind to Entity B with ModelKeyPath bRelat I know that this configuration doesn't allow multiple value setting. But I don't know how to do the right one. • Is it true that in most Object Oriented Programming Languages, an "i" in an instance method always r

The answer is at the end of this question. I found that the i in the alert call either refers to any local (if any), or the global variable. There is no way that it can be the instance variable or the class variable even when there is no local and no global defined. To refer to the instance variable i, we need this.i, and to the class variable i, we need Circle.i. Is this actually true for almost all Object oriented programming languages? Any exception? Are there cases that when there is no local and no global, it will look up the instance variable and then the class variable scope? (or in this case, are those called scope?) the answer is: 10 is being alerted.
