  I have tried to upload +100 files to azure with Delphi. However, the calls block the main thread, so I want to do this with a async call or with a background thread. • Why does Clojure hang after hacing performed my calculations?

  Hi all, I'm experimenting with filtering through elements in parallel. For each element, I need to perform a distance calculation to see if it is close enough to a target point. Never mind that data structures already exist for doing this, I'm just doing initial experiments for now. Anyway, I wanted to run some very basic experiments where I generate random vectors and filter them. What I don't understand is why the programs hangs for an additional minute before terminating.   I'm trying to create a new tab in a Safari window from Cocoa using Scripting Bridge. Creating the tab does not. This gets me "-[SafariWindow addObject:]: unrecognized selector sent to instance...", so obviously that's not the way to do it. • X++ Coming Out Of QueryRun In Fetch Method

  I can't seem to find the resolution for this. I have modified the Fetch method in a report, so that if the queryRun is changed, and the new ID is fetched, then the while loop starts over and a new page appears and 2 elements are executed. This part works fine, the next part does not, in each ID there are several Records which I am using Element.Execute(); and element.Send(); to process. What happens is, the first ID is selected, the element (body) of the reports is executed and the element is sent as expected, however the while loop does not go onto the next ID? This following code depends on the inner formulas inside the loop in order to finish, the deal is that there is no variable N in the code, therefore the efficiency of this algorithm will always be the same since we're assigning the value of 1 to both A & B variables: 1. A = 1 2. B = 1 3. UNTIL (B > 100) a. B = 2A - 2 b. A = A + 3 Now I believe this algorithm performs in constant time, always. But how can I use Algebra in order to find out how many steps it takes to finish?

• How to best show progress info when using ADO.NET?

  I want to show the user detailed progress information when performing potentially lengthy database operations. Specifically, when inserting/updating data that may be on the order of hundreds of KB or MB. Currently, I'm using in-memory DataTables and DataRows which are then synced with the database via TableAdapter.Update calls. This works fine and dandy, but the single call leaves little opportunity to glean any kind of progress info to show to the user. I have no idea how much data is passing through the network to the remote DB or its progress. Basically, all I know is when Update returns and it is assumed complete (barring any errors or exceptions). But this means all I can show is 0% and then a pause and then 100%. I can count the number of rows, even going so far to cound how many are actually Modified or Added, and I could even maybe calculate per DataRow its estimated size based on the datatype of each column, using sizeof for value types like int and checking length for things like strings or byte arrays. With that, I could probably determine, before updating, an estimated total transfer size, but I'm still stuck without any progress info once Update is called on the TableAdapter. Am I stuck just using an indeterminate progress bar or mouse waiting cursor? Would I need to radically change our data access layer to be able to hook into this kind of information? Even if I can't get it down to the precise KB transferred (like a web browser file download progress bar), could I at least know when each DataRow/DataTable finishes or something? How do you best show this kind of progress info using ADO.NET?

  I am calling a jsp based on 2 parameters which is passed from jsp 1 in this way.Below i pass 2 parameters into 2.jsp and based on these 2 parameters data is displayed in 2.jsp.I have a loop in which i have a number of hrefs like the one i have described below.Each of these href passes a different set of value to 2.jsp. out.println("<a href=\"2.jsp?prId=" + prog.getId() + count + "\">" + prog.getName() + "</a>"); I retrieve these 2 parameters in 2.jsp using the following lines count_id = request.getParameter( "country_id" ); prog_id = Integer.parseInt(request.getParameter( "program_id" )); Based on these 2 parameters i show the corresponding data in 2.jsp Now i have a back button in 2.jsp and i call 1.jsp in 2.jsp using the following code <a href="1.jsp"><img src="/image/back.gif" border="0"></a> The problem is when i use the back button and go back to 1.jsp and select another href like the one i have described above i get the data related to the previous href selected. I guess the problem is when i request the page is loaded from cache rather than from the server. Please advice

  I have this xml: <Path> <Record> <ID>6534808</ID> <Distance>1.05553036073736</Distance> </Record> <Record> <ID>6542471</ID> <Distance>1.05553036073736</Distance> </Record> ... and about more 500 nodes </Path> And I'm using the code below to get all "Record" nodes: XmlNodeList paths = xDoc.SelectNodes("//Record"); And, after that, I save each record to database. But, the problem is that I'm using a foreach to loop through this nodes and the count of this nodes may be more than 500, sometimes it gets up to 1000 "Records" node. And this gets too long... Is there a way to save all of these nodes without looping through it? Thanks!!

  Hi All, I am learning indesign, I have a doubt in story splitting... I want to split the story if the same story is used in two different text frames, I am extracting idml file and getting the needed data. My question is, I have a single story which is used by two text frames (Threaded text), and these two textframes are available in two different spreads. Story.xml contains full story, half of the story is displayed in 1st textframe, next half is displayed in 2nd textframe and the same story ID is referred in both the textframes. Now I want to split this story into two, so I want to know that how much content of the story is added in 1st and 2nd textframe, I think if I find that how many characters or words or lines present in each textframe then it will easy to split the story. We can determine the word and character count using the following steps in indesign CS4 Place the insertion point in a text frame to view counts for the entire thread of frames (the story), or select text to view counts only for the selected text. Choose Window Info to display the Info panel. Is there any property or attribute in idml (xml files like prefrence.xml or story.xml or spread.xml) to find out the number of characters/words/lines of single textframe. Can anyone help me to solve this issue. Thanks in advance.

• Capture *all* display-characters in JavaScript?

  I was given an unusual request recently that I'm having the most difficult time addressing that involves capturing all display-characters when typed into a text box. The set up is as follows: I have a text box that has a maxlength of 10 characters. When the user attempts to type more than 10 characters, I need to notify the user that they're typing beyond the character count limit. The simplest solution would be to specify a maxlength of 11, test the length on every keyup, and truncate back down to 10 characters but this solution seems a bit kludgy. What I'd prefer to do is capture the character before keyup and, depending on whether or not it is a display-character, present the notification to the user and prevent the default action. A white-list would be challenging since we handle a lot of international data. I've played around with every combination of keydown, keypress, and keyup, reading event.keyCode, event.charCode, and event.which, but I can't find a single combination that works across all browsers. • Always get exception when trying to Fill data to DataTable

  The code below is just a test to connect to an Oracle database and fill data to a DataTable. After executing the statement da.Fill(dt);, I always get the exception "Exception of type 'System.OutOfMemoryException' was thrown.". Has anyone met this kind of error? My project is running on VS 2005, and my Oracle database version is 11g. My computer is using Windows Vista. If I copy this code to run on Windows XP, it works fine. I know www.bahn.de, who provide the accurated timetables for many european countries, but i didin't find any similar to a api service. My goal (well, just a future-project) is to develope an application like gmaps, but instead of giving the car-trip i would like to give the train-trip.. you know, the user set the departure day, time and station, then the first arrival, maybe then add another one, and so on. So, there is something like, that can be queryed by php/python/javascript? Edit: if can help, im wondering to build a service to plan an inter-rail trip! (and any help will be really appreciate) Im stuck. Google's public-service api rely on the information that every local company makes avaiable, much branches are missing (for example, is almost impossible to use it to build an itinerary that touches two or more regions of Europe. As i said before, the only service that i know doing it good is the bahn.de, they really have all the data.. but no api. I tryed to parse theyre result page (in order to use them as API), but seem like the markup is been build exactly to avoid that.. maybe they have business plans behind that or whatever, but i dont think they will ever release some API.. so, my project is going on without this function (p.s: my project is about non-profit cultural organizations, we wont make war to anyone ;P) @El Goorf: if you find a way, and consider the idea of sharing it, count on my hand if need help!

• Quick help refactoring Ruby Class

  I've written this class that returns feed updates, but am thinking it can be further improved. It's not glitchy or anything, but as a new ruby developer, I reckon it's always good to improve :-) class FeedManager attr_accessor :feed_object, :update, :new_entries require 'feedtosis' def initialize(feed_url) @feed_object = Feedtosis::Client.new(feed_url) fetch end def fetch @feed_object.fetch end def update @updates = fetch end def updated? @updates.new_entries.count > 0 ? true : false end def new_entries @updates.new_entries end end As you can see, it's quite simple, but the things I'm seeing that aren't quite right are: Whenever I call fetch via terminal, it prints a list with the updates, when it's really supposed return an object. So as an example, in the terminal if I do something like: client = Feedtosis::Client.new('http://stackoverflow.com/feeds') result = client.fetch I then get: <Curl::Easy http://stackoverflow.com/feeds> Which is exactly what I'd expect. However, when doing the same thing with "inniting" class with: FeedManager.new("http://stackoverflow.com/feeds") I'm getting the object returning as an array with all the items on the feed. Sure I'm doing something wrong, so any help refactoring this class will he greatly appreciated. Also, I'd like to see comments about my implementation, as well as any sort of comment to make it better would be welcome. Thanks in advance

• Add double tap action (presentModalViewController) to UISCOLLVIEW

  I have been wrestling this issue for a while now and cannot seem to get the following "touchesEnded" method to execute within a UISCROLLVIEW. I have read on many of the forums that UISCROLLVIEW will take control of all touch events unless it is subclassed, but I cannot seem to get the code right (still new to the SDK). Basically I have a scrollview made uo with several UIIMAGEVIEW's and currenlty have scrolling with paging (much like the photo app). I have been studying the SCROLLING MADDNESS example without success.
