  • Can I install a tool like Zimbra or Funambol on a server that is already managed by Syscp?

    I have a server that is managed by Syscp. The question is, if there are unresolveable dependencies, or services, that are managed by syscp already? For example Zimbra is intended using postfix but syscp is managing that already. I guess, that will not be possible, but maybe without having the full functionality of Zimbra. I only need the calendar and contacts-support with CalDav. (besides: I am using debian sqeeze but this is interesting in general)

  • MSSQLServer2008\Instance, Why?

    Hi, im aware of the possibility to create instances but i don't know a real good reason to do it. This way one has per definition at least two sqlserver services running, but what for should this be good? The two instances have to share all the ressouces mainly the RAM. If you have to rename the server you will end up with an access like \NEWSQLServer\OldInstanceName. So what is the case for instances?

    I'm looking for a live Linux distro that is secure and preserves my anonymity online. For what I need, Tor seems to do the job – but such software requires configuration that someone who is not knowledgeable in how it works might find difficult. I was looking at 'Lightweight portable security' but it does not specify whether it sends all traffic through Tor. Does anyone know more information about it and/or any other such live Linux distro?

  • Printer redirection on server 2003

    On windows server 2003 when one user connects to the server via RDP the default printer of the server for her profile does not change to the redirected printer of the session. This only happens with the one user all the other users default printers defaults to their session printer automatically. I tried the following solution but there was no \Terminal Server\Printer Redirection in gpedit.msc http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc731963(v=ws.10).aspx Computer Configuration\Policies\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Terminal Services\Terminal Server\Printer Redirection Is there a different place to check the Printer Redirection?

  • pidgin: how to make it log logins/logouts of an ICQ buddy if the conversation tab is still open

    Hello, when pidgin was called gaim and you had opened a tab with am ICQ buddy, all his logins and logouts were logged during the time you had that tab open. It didnt' even matter if your buddy was online before you opened the tab with him. In pidgin 2.6.6, I this behavior can no longer be observed and I cannot find an option in the preferences or buddy context menu to enable it. How do I restore that behavior from gaim time? Thanks!

    In the context of a game (HTML5/Flash/Silverlight) which sends data to an online service to record progress (e.g. player killed an orc), would communicating with the service over SSL implicitly prevent the player from recording and replaying the message? I know SSL includes a nonce, but does it remain constant for the duration of the connection or does it change after each request/response cycle?

I have a server with 3 NICs. 1 one of them has DNS information and two of them are in a private network not using DNS.     We need to reformat the SQL cluster disk in our SQL cluster. The drive contains the shared installation files for SQL as well as databases. My concern is how SQL/The Cluster will react to after we wipe the disk resource. Questions: Is there a defined procedure for this? How should we backup and restore the disk? We have tried IP blocking at our firewall, but this becomes to manage the block lists. Also, we have used IIS-handlers, however that complicates our web applications.   • Is it safe to run two instances of svnserve on one repository, or only one?

    We've two nodes running heartbeat/drbd, and one of the services we're using is subversion. What I want to know is: is it safe to run svnserve on both nodes all the time, or should it only run on the active node? Does svnserve use file-level locking, or is it all in memory?     Some web services calls my web application(www.myapplication.com/external_update_handler). I need to test those requests locally, so I'd like to know your opinions about how can I "redirect" those requests to my localhost dev machine(that is outside of my web aplication domain) so I can debug. Probably it's needed a service/server to get those external requests and a desktop application that sends it to localhost:5555/external_update_handler, but I have no idea where to start and simpler options.

    I have photoshop 5.5 working just fine under windows vista, I upgraded my PC to windows 7 and when I start photoshop 5.5 it just hangs. I see the main screen open but nothing happens and I just get the busy sign out of the mouse pointer, with Photoshop not completing the start. I searched online and some reported the same issue and were able to solve the issue by deleting Photoshop setting or preference file. I did that, but still the issue is present.
