• How do I load SciLexer.dll in Visual Studio 2008 Designer, on Windows 7 64-bit?

  We develop a WinForm application using Scintilla.NET (1.7) component, which uses SciLexer.dll (unamnaged). At run-time, we distribute both 32bit and 64bit SciLexer.dll, and we load the correct one when the application starts (everything works fine). • Missing [mx.rpc]::IResponder

  I'm trying to use the Flex 4 SDK's mx.rpc package in a Flash application. I imported Flex's rpc.swc (Adobe\Adobe Flash Builder 4\sdks\4.0.0\frameworks\libs\rpc.swc) into my project by adding it to the list in Flash's "Publish Settings/Flash/ActionScrip 3.0 Settings/Library Path". It seems like I have access to the classes, however when I compile I get this error: 1046: Type was not found or was not a compile-time constant: [mx.rpc]::IResponder. There's no location or line for the error either. Any idea how to get this to work? TIA! Notes: I'm using Flash Builder 4 and Flash CS5

  I'm trying to use ServletContext.getResource to retrieve a java.net.url reference to an image file (which I will then include in a PDF library using iText). When I use ServletContext.getRealPath("picture.jpg"), I get back a string URL. However, getResource always returns null. Example 1: String picture = ServletContext.getRealPath("picture.jpg"); // picture contains a non-null String with the correct path URL pictureURL = ServletContext.getResource(picture); // pictureURL is always null Example 2: URL pictureURL = ServletContext.getResource("picture.jpg"); // pictureURL is always null So what is the correct way to build a java.net.URL object pointing to a file in my webapps folder? Why does getRealPath work but not getResource? In case it helps at all, here is my folder structure webapps - mySite - picture.jpg Does my picture need to be stored in either WEB-INF or WEB-INF/classes to be read by getResource?

• Redmon's Run As User not loading user's enviroment variables

  I'm attempting to use Redmon http://www.winimage.com/misc/redmon/ to send print jobs to a custom C# application. Redmon "runs" (actually the Print Spooler) as SYSTEM but has an option to Run As User to allow your application to run under the user that printed the job. The problem is that it doesn't appear to load the user's environment. So calling functions like Path.GetTempPath() points to \windows\temp instead of the user's. Also when attempting to run Outlook 2007+ via MAPI calls (to add attachments) it reports form errors due to, I think, the temp folder location. Is there a way to "reload" a profile or atleast get your environment vars within the Impersonated application? The only ideas I've had so far is to rebuild the vars directly from the registry, but I want to avoid this since it's a hack around (avoiding implementation details and all that). Or making a stub program that Redmon calls which then properly Run As User with full profile the custom application. Any other items or tricks?

• DateTime Property not firing PropertyChanged event when changed

  I'm working on a WPF MVVM application and I've got a TextBox on my view that is bound to a DateTime property on the ViewModel. Seems simple enough, but when I clear the text in the TextBox, the property never changes. In fact, it never even fires until I begin typing "4/1..." and then it fires. What can I do to fix this? Obviously I could bind the TextBox to a string property and then update the real property in the setter, but that's a bit of a hack. There's got to be a better way... How can I change the output of the ShipDate in the XML file to the desired format? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

• Fake Shortcuts in Windows - Is there an API? One for C#?

  I'm not sure what they call the fake shortcuts you often see in Windows now. A good example would be the link to any of the Office 2007 programs. You can tell one of these from a regular shortcut because the Target is grayed out and is not a real path. Can you access these through a .NET API? Like ask for the target? or get any of the information stored within it. I think these are somehow related to Windows Installer and Advertised programs.

• FileNotFound exception when trying to write to a file

  OK, I'm feeling like this should be easy but am obviously missing something fundamental to file writing in Java. I have this: File someFile = new File("someDirA/someDirB/someDirC/filename.txt"); and I just want to write to the file. However, while someDirA exists, someDirB (and therefore someDirC and filename.txt) do not exist. Doing this: BufferedWriter writer = new BufferedWriter(new FileWriter(someFile)); throws a FileNotFoundException. Well, er, no kidding. I'm trying to create it after all. Do I need to break up the file path into components, create the directories and then create the file before instantiating the FileWriter object?

• How do I allow inline images with data urls on .NET 4 without triggering request validation?

  I'm using the jQuery jstree plugin (http://jstree.com) in a ASP.NET MVC 2 project on .NET 4 RC. It comes with some stylesheets with inline images with data urls, like this: .tree-checkbox ul { background-image:url(data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAgACAIAAAB4dGf///yH5BAEAAAEALAAAAAACAAIAAAICRF4AOw==); } Now, the url for the background image contains a colon, which .NET 4 thinks is an unsafe character, so I get this error message: A potentially dangerous Request.Path value was detected from the client (:). According to the documentation, I am supposed to be able to prevent this by adding <pages validateRequest="false" /> to my Web.config, but that doesn't seem to help. I have tried adding it to the main Web.config for the application, as well as to a special Web.config in the /config folder, but to no avail. Is there any way to get .NET to allow this?

  Hi, I'm quite new to using Tornado Web as a web server, and am having a little difficulty keeping it running. I normally use Django and Nginx, and am used to start/stop/restarting the server. However with Tornado I'm having trouble telling it to "run" without directly executing my main python file for the site, ie "python ~/path/to/server.py". I'm sure I'm getting this completely wrong - is there a way of 'bootstrapping' my script so that when Nginx starts, Tornado starts? Any help would be appreciated!

  I am using vim/gvim for 4 months already and now I found a way to use it's strengths. My tags file is generated very well and here is a simple row in it. my.namespace.classname /path/to/file.js /^my.namespace.classname = function(first_arg,$/;" f Here is an example what i need to omnicomplete: my.namespace.cla <- omnicomplete list with all classnames in the my.namespace The above is the key to my problem, because it looks like omnicomplete searches only namespace without including "my." in front of it. So i see other element in the omnicomplete list and not my classname at all. However, if i type :tag my.namespace.classname for example gvim opens the correct file at the correct position. What is wrong and how can I make it work?

I could thinks of a couple: Use absolute paths (/css/styles.css) and modrewrite if it ends up being /user Have a settings file and declare a variable with the path (<? php echo $domain . "/css/styles" ?>) Use relative paths (../css/styles.css). What is the best way to handle this?

• Coldfusion 9 installation problem with IIS7

  Windows web server 2008 R2 64 bit, CF9 64 bit, IIS7, ISAPI extensions and filters and II6 metabase compatability installed. OS is on C default, and trying to install CF to D: Testing IIS and it shows index.html correctly from c:\inetpub\wwwroot at http://localhost/index.html Then I install CF to D:\ , single standard server licence, select run with all IIS sites, select C:\inetpub\wwwroot as the web root for administrator, and when it gets to the bit where it is supposed to open up administrator to complete the installation it opens up the browser with a 500 error. Now when I go back to http://localhost/index.html I also get a 500 error, if i uninstall CF I can again reach the html page. CFIDE has been installed in C:\inetpub\wwwroot presumably correctly. Can anyone tell me where I'm going wrong please. Update The exact IIS error is HTTP Error 500.0 - Internal Server Error The page cannot be displayed because an internal server error has occurred. • java "File not found" when using commons-configuration XMLConfiguration with Tomcat

  Hi all, I'm building two apps that uses commons-configuration XMLConfiguration. Since the apps are related, I've build another project, called commons, that has a custom configuration manager that initializes the XMLConfiguration like so: config = new XMLConfiguration("conf/config.xml"); What happens is that the "command-line" app works fine, loading the configuration file. But when I try to use my custom configuration manager on a webapp (using tomcat) I get a "org.apache.commons.configuration.ConfigurationException: Cannot locate configuration source". I've placed the conf directory on the WEB-INF folder, the root folder and the META-INF folder. I've also tried with "/conf/config.xml", "./conf/config.xml" and "../conf/config.xml". The only time I got this to work - on the web app - was using a absolute path. What am I missing? Thanks, Bruno

All the files for an organization are stored in a directory say, /files/<organizationId>/, on file server like files +-- 234809 | +img1.jpg | +doc1.pdf +-- 808234 | +doc2.pdf I am storing file-path and privacy level in DB. So, I can control whether to show link to a file URL to an user -- on a given page. The problem is, I do not have any control over file's URL... so, if some one types the URL to img1.jpg in his browser's address bar, there is no way to know whether a logged in user is eligible to see img1.jpg. Duplicate resource(s): [Error] Type 10 (RCDATA), ID TFMMAINTQUOTE: [Error] File P:\[PATH SNIPPED]\Manufacturing.RES resource kept; file FMaintQuote.DFM resource discarded. Manufacturing.res is the default resource file (application is called Manufacturing.exe), and FMainQuote is one of the forms. .dfm files are plain text files, so I'm not sure what resources is being duplicated, how to find it and fix it? If I tried to compile the project again, it works OK, but the exe's icon is different to the one I've set in Project Options using the "Load Icon" button. The icon on the app is some sort of bell image that I don't recognize.

  Hi all, I am trying to build an executable jar program which depends on external jar downloaded. In my project, I included them in the build path and can be run and debug within eclipse. When I tried to export it to a jar, I can run the program but I can't when I try to press a button which includes function calls and classes from the external jar. I have edited the environment variables (Windows XP) CLASSPATH to include paths of all the external jar, but it doesn't work. A point to note is that I got compile warnings while exporting my executable jar, but it doesn't show up any description about the warnings.   I'm writing an add-on for IE using VC++ and ATL. It's a simple DLL and I have a text file that I use as a resource. This answer helped me in doing this. I have a question about updating resource. MSDN describes how to do it but there is a function (BeginUpdateResource) that need filename of exe or dll with resource. Is it possible to update resource in my DLL from my DLL? I can easily read it that way, but to update I have to provide DLL's name. Is it necessary? Also if I won't give full path to my DLL it looks for file on desktop and not where DLL is stored. I don't know why this behave like this.
