  I am having the following problem:I've installed java 1.6u33 on my windows 7 machine.Everything was fine, i was running eclipse for example.But i did a mistake -i deleted the jre6 dir.Now i am trying to reinstall java with no success.I got this msg when i try to uninstall it: "error 1723 there is a problem with this windows installer package a dll required for this install to complete could not be run..."I've deleted everything i had found for java in the registry,the Java dir, also tried JavaRa.I saw in MSI**.LOG files what dll is mising and put it where it was searched for.No success. So is there a way i can reinstall java without reinstalling windows?

  How do I get around Inconsistant accessibilty error in C # ? I need to pass a pointer to a node in a linked list to a method. When I do, I get a "Compiler Error CS0051" Example The following sample generates CS0051: Copy Code // CS0051.cs public class A { // Try making B public since F is public // B is implicitly private here class B { } public static void F(B b) // CS0051 { } public static void Main() { } } That is a simple example. The actual program is a bit more complicated. I am actually using a node in a linked list to pass to the method LinkedListNode node The method uses recursion because the node is mart of a huge linked list structure of linked lists that outputs an xml file. Either I have to find a way to use recursion without using methods or I need to find a way to pass pointers nodes or actual nodes.

  I got another new account for the AppStore, I setup the new account certificates on my MAC. Now when I try to publish XCode gives me the error CodeSign error: Certificate identity 'iPhone Distribution: 'Name' appears more than once in the keychain. The codesign tool requires there only be one. How can I change my certificate identity for the other account? While I have to leave my Name as it is on both itunes profiles. How can avoid this problem without have to remove one certificate each time I need to publish app on appstore. Thank you.

  I bought a AMD / ATI HIS HD 7870 to replace my old HD 4870. I noticed that the fan speed does not scale with the temperature: The fan speed does not get below 28% (read from catalyst / automatic fan speed) If I manually change it in the catalyst to 20% then it has the same speed than 28% : about 900-1000 rpm. With HIS iTurbo i manually can change the fan speed below 20%. But I noticed that changing the fan speed below 16% results in 3200 rpm. This is really stupid and annoying since my PC is a ultra silent PC and all fans are running with about 500 rpm when the PC is idle (windows / musik movies, etc.) Is there any way to change the fan speed to a reasonable speed like 500 rpm by software or hardware adapters (I really don't like to put a poti between the 12V line)

I have notice some significant differences between the following calls: powershell.exe -File Script.ps1 powershell.exe -Command "& '.\Script.ps1'" powershell.exe .\Script.ps1 For example, the -File call will handle errors in the exact same way as the ISE. The other two seem to ignore the $ErrorActionPreference variable, and do not seem to catch Write-Error in try/catch blocks. For example what I need to modify is values from this key but this key only refers to a single user: [HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-543895283-3741240661-2983116896-500\Software\IvoSoft\ClassicStartMenu\Settings] But "S-1-5-21-543895283-3741240661-2983116896-500" is different depending on the user name. • Handling site not found and page not found with dynamic mass virtual hosting

  I have recently setup mass virtual hosting in Apache so that all we need to do is create a directory to create a new vhost. We're then also using wildcard DNS to map all subdomains to the server running our Apache instance. This works excellently, however I'm now having trouble configuring it to fail-over to an appropriate default/error-page when the vhost directory does not exist. The problem appears to be conflated between by my desire to handle the two error conditions: vhost not found i.e. there was no directory found matching the host supplied in the HTTP host header. I'd like this to display an appropriate site not found error page. The 404 page not found condition of the vhost. Additionally I have a specialised "api" vhost in its own vhost block. I've tried a number of variations and none seem to exhibit the behaviour I want. So for a domain that doesn't match the first two ServerName's and has no corresponding directory in /var/www/vhosts/ I'd expect it to fall-over to the first vhost, however with this setup, all domains resolve to my default site-not-found. Why is this? By putting the mass-vhost block first, I can get the mass-vhosts to resolve properly, but not my site-not-found vhost... and in this case I can't seem to find a way to distinguish between a page-level 404 in the vhost, and the case where the VirtualDocumentRoot fails to find a vhost directory (this appears to use the 404 also). Any help out of this bind is much appreciated!

  Hi all, I recently installed TFS 2010 with the included sharepoint services on a single server. I am getting the following error multiple times on the project dashboard web page on the TFS2010 project protal after creating a brand new project in the default project collection. I am not an expert with WSS, so any guidance will be greatly appreciated. After reading a few articles I understand there are some DLL that are probably not declared as safe in a web config file.   I've installed Vmware 6.5 on Ubuntu 10.10... when I start vmware player/workstation its asking for linux kernel header for some compilation but I'm not able to find the appropriate package, see the Image below....   I am getting the following problem on a number of windows 2008 servers. 0x80041323 Task Scheduler failed to start task \Reporting" in TaskEngine "S-1-5-18:NT AUTHORITY\System:Service:" for user "NT AUTHORITY\System". User Action: Reduce the number of tasks running in the specified user context. I've done lots of research around the web but have been unable to come up with a working answer. I have found some information suggesting increasing a value in the registry key "TasksInMemoryQueue" which I have done, but even setting this as high as 500 has not helped. I have rebooted the server after setting this value. The server does run a high volume of Scheduled tasks, there could be 150 or so running at any one time, but certainly not 500. The scheduled tasks are all running under the system user. Does anyone have any ideas?

  I am trying to run WebMCP on an Apache2 server. It's got 2 executable files, which I have in /opt/webmcp/cgi-bin/webmcp.lua and /opt/webmcp/cgi-bin/webmcp-wrapper.lua If I run the wrapper from a position that is not /opt/webmcp/cgi-bin it says it cannot find webmcp.lua and gives a 500 error. If I run it from the correct directory it works. My server has webmcp.lua set as directoryindex and it's giving 500 error. It may be because of this problem? /opt/webmcp/cgi-bin/ is already set as documentroot, and is accessible by www-data.

• jPlayer problem in Firefox - also throws error from jQuery?! Not related to OGG support.

  I've been working on a small SVG website, http://docroot.ca/ - the SVG part has been working out pretty well. In the current site, jPlayer is called and given an mp3. jPlayer functions properly in Safari, Chrome, and Opera, but not Firefox which throws the following two errors: Error: not well-formed Source File: Line: 1, Column: 191 Source Code: <div xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"><embed name="jqjp_flash_0" id="jqjp_flash_0" src="js/Jplayer.swf" width="0" height="0" bgcolor="#ffffff" quality="high" FlashVars="id=jPlayerBox&fid=jqjp_flash_0&vol=80" allowScriptAccess="always" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" /></ and: Error: uncaught exception: [Exception... The former might have something to do with jPlayer's .swf component. The weird thing is the same code works in http://willshown.com/dw, but not in http://docroot.ca. Any guesses as to what direction to take this problem?

• Custom tool error: Command.proto:11:18: "Message2" is not defined.

  I am using the latest version of protobuf-net with VS2008 integration. I have created 2 messages (Message1 and Message2), 1 message in 1 proto file. When I try to reference Message2 in Message1 the code generator tool gives me error "Message2" is not defined and won't generate the code file. The package for both messages is same. It look like that because of the integration of the tool with VS2008 it expects all the messages in same .proto file to compile. Currently I have to paste an empty message with same name in Message1.proto file, like this: message Message1 { optional Message2 message2 = 1; } message Message2 { } And then later on remove the declaration of class Message2 from Message1.cs. Are there any settings that I need to do so to avoid this error, or is providing an empty declaration the only way?

• How to view status of software RAID 1 resynching?

  I have two 500 GB disks and yesterday I mirrored first drive to the second one using software RAID 1. PC has now been on for 30 hours. Both disks say "Resynching", but there is no progress indicator. In addition, there is a small yellow exclamation mark on both disks. My questions are: How long could the synch take for 500 GB drive with about 150 GB of data? PC has 4 GBs of RAM and AMD dual core 4000+ Is there a way to monitor status of the synching? How can I check what the exclamation mark means?

• maximum string length quota error consuming WCF webservice from Biztalk.

  I'm getting this error message "The Maximum string content length quota (8192) has been exceeded while reading XML data. This quotea may be increased by changing the MaxStringContentLength property on the XmlDictionaryReaderQuotas object used when creating the XML reader" In the one of my orchestrations that consumes a wcf webservice (stacktrace indicates the receive shape is where the issue is), It is likely that the response is very large. looking at some of the other questions with this error message the solution is to change a WCF bindings setting in the configuration file. However I can't find these configuration settings when I'm using biztalk. They don't seem to be generated anywhere, should I be trying to add them to BTSNTSVc.exe.config. Any suggestions welcome.

• Compiling and using NTL c++ library for Windows

  Hi there, I have compiled the NTL inifite precision integer arithmetic library for c++, using Microsoft Visual Studio 2008. I did as explained, on this site, using the Visual Studio interface, rather than from the command prompt. Actually I would rather do it from the command prompt, but I was not sure how to. Anyhow, I got the library compiled, and I now want to compile a program using the library, from the command prompt. The program I am trying to compile, has been tested on a linux system, where I compile it with the following c++ -I/appl/htopopt/Linux_x86_64/NTL-5.4.2/include mpqs.cpp main.cpp -o main -L/appl/htopopt/Linux_x86_64/NTL-5.4.2/lib -lntl -L/appl/htopopt/Linux_x86_64/gmp-4.2.1/lib -lgmp -lm Nevermind the gmp stuff, I dont have that installed on Windows. It is purely an optional thing that will make the NTL run faster. Anyhow, this works fine on linux.
