  Hi all! I'm developing a web application in jboss, seam, richfaces. I'm using a template(xhtml) as master page of all others and there i set two insert tags. <ui:insert name="head"/> <ui:insert name="body"/> The problem is that in pages that use this master page as template, the <ui:define name="head">...</ui:define> must be defined inside the <ui:define name="body">...</ui:define>. How can i do this? • iPhone SDK background thread image loading problem

  I have created a grid view that displays six "cells" of content. In each cell, an image is loaded from the web. There are a multiple pages of this grid (the user moves through them by swiping up / down to see the next set of cells). Each cell has its own view controller. When these view controllers load, they use an ImageLoader class that I made to load and display an image. These view controllers implement an ImageLoaderDelegate that has a single method that gets called when the image is finished loading. ImageLoader does its work on a background thread and then simply notifies its delegate when it is done loading, passing the image to the delegate method. Trouble is that if the user moves on to the next page of grid content before the image has finished loading (releasing the GridCellViewControllers that use the ImageLoaders), the app crashes. I suspect that this is because along the line, an asynchronous method finishes and attempts to notify its delegate but can't because it's been released. • Asynchronous Image loading in certain custom UITableViewCells

  So, I'm sure that this issue has been brought up before, but I haven't quite seen a solution for my specific problem. What I'm doing is loading a group of custom UITableViewCell's that are drawn using Loren Brichter's solution, each cell has some content, an icon (representing the user) that is asynchronously loaded into it, and a few other things. Eventually, I'm hoping to add support for images. Not every cell has an image, so in the creation of the cell, it determines if an image is required to be loaded and drawn into the cell. My problem is that I don't know how I can do that while keeping the image loaded asynchronously - with not every cell having the need to load an image (like needed with the icon) I'm not sure how to keep it in order when an cell is thrown off screen and re-rendered when the user scrolls over it. Each cell draws it content from an NSArray containing a custom object called FeedItem. All I'm really looking for is some sort of solution or idea to help me because right now I am at a loss.   Hi, I'm in the process of making a music app and I'm currently working on the library functionality. I'm having some problems, however, in working with a list view (In particular, the cells). • Trouble parsing quotes with SAX parser (javax.xml.parsers.SAXParser) on Android API 1.5

  When using a SAX parser, parsing fails when there is a " in the node content. How can I resolve this? Do I need to convert all " characters? In other words, anytime I have a quote in a node: <node>characters in node containing "quotes"</node> That node gets butchered into multiple character arrays when the Handler is parsing it. Is this normal behaviour? Why should quotes cause such a problem? • How to display a subview loaded from a separate NIB file

  I'm developing a Cocoa desktop application that uses a source list in the style of iTunes: different elements in the source list cause the main content area to display different views. The content area is entirely filled with a (vertical) NSSplitView; on the left is an NSOutlineView source list. When the user selects an item on the left, the relevant view appears on the right side of the splitter. I can make it work well enough by putting everything in one NIB file and putting a borderless NSTabView to the right of the splitter; to switch views, I just have to change the selected tab. But putting all the views in one NIB is bad practice, so I'm trying to move each of the subviews into their own NIB files. I have a pretty good idea of most of this process — I've created an NSViewController subclass for each of these views (EntityDetailViewController, GroupDetailViewController, and so on), set the File's Owner of each new NIB to the relevant controller class, set the view connection in each NIB, and reworked the bindings. What I don't know is how to actually change which subview is being shown on screen. I've tried using the default generic NSView on the right side and sending it addSubview: messages; I've tried connecting to it as the first subview and calling NSView *newSubview = /* get subview from the new subview controller */ [[subview superview] replaceSubview:subview with:newSubview]; [self setSubview:newSubview]; But everything just leaves the space blank. How do I display a subview loaded from a separate NIB?

  I have an Outlook style app. So basically I have a sidebar on the left and on the right I have a panel control (pnlMainBody) that hosts content. The content is typically a user control that I add to the panel when user clicks appropriate button in the side bar. The way I add the user control to the panel is as follows: // _pnlEmails is the User Control that I am adding to the panel _pnlEmails = new pnlEmails(); _pnlEmails.Dock = DockStyle.Fill; this.pnlMainBody.Controls.Add(_pnlEmails); Some of the user controls that I add to the main panel are quite complex UI-wise. So when this.pnlMainBody.Controls.Add(_pnlEmails); fires, I see the control appear on the screen, then it resizes itself to fill the body of the panel control. It's quite ugly actually, so I was wondering whether there is a way to not show the resizing until it's actually done resizing? I've tried setting the user control's .Visible to false. I've tried doing .SuspendLayout, all to no avail. Is there a way to do this so the screen transitions are smooth?

  I'm trying to add the user_id to a nested attribute that gets built by a parent controller but it doesn't seem to have the desired effect? Ie. I have a model called Place.rb which accepts_nested_attributes_for :reviews The nested attribute works fine and I build it inside the Places controller like so... @review = @place.reviews.build(:user_id => current_user.id) I was previously adding the user thru the form, but would like to do it thru the controller so that it only adds the user_id on creation, as it might get updated by someone else and i don't want the update changing the user_id... old way which works: <%= e.label :content, "Review" %><br /> <%= e.text_area :content, :rows => 20, :class => 'jquery_ckeditor' %><br /> <%= e.hidden_field :user_id, :value => current_user.id %> but thru the controller the build method with options has no effect? Any ideas? Can I not do this thru the build?

• Prevent illegal behavior to the registered user

  I am building a website in which this website will be focused on the publishing of novels. Every writers who publish their novels with us will get a royalty from us. And this royalty comes from the user or the reader who read the novel online in our website. When a user search for a novel and want to read that, they will click a link to the page which its content is that novel. The html page for each novels will have a session function that first will force them to login or register to make a payment such as with a credit-card or paypal before accessing that html page. My problem now is if the user has succesfully login and access the html page, I am afraid if the user will copy the content of the novel. Some disccussion out here How to Disable Copy Paste (Browser) have a solution to create it in Flash so that it can't be coppied-paste. But the I think, if the user who access it is a web developer like us they will try to find the path of the file from the link in the page source, and then they can steal it. For now I think it is enough I am explaining this. I hope anyone fully accept this problem (question) with a good idea to solve it.

• Which Django 1.2.x multilingual application to use?

  There are a couple of different applications for internationalized content in Django. As of now I only have used http://code.google.com/p/django-multilingual/ in my production environments, but I wonder if there are "better" solutions for my wishes. What my staff users need is the following: An object is being created by a staff user in any language (e.g. "de") This object should be displayed in the german version of the website. When a staff user translates the object into a different language (e.g. "fr"), then the page must be visible in the french version as well. If an object is not translated in the visitor's currently selected language (e.g. "en"), then calling the objects url shall raise a 404 Error (or even better a notice that the object is only available in the languages "de" and "fr", and the visitor might be able to select one of the languages) My staff users are working in the admin interface, so the multilingual application must support this as well. I don't really care whether the multilingual app uses a single table with many fields (like title_en, title_de, title_fr) or a foreign key to a related table (as it is implemented in django-multlingual). I only want it to have a good admin interface and no "default" language, because some content might be available just in "de", and some other just in "fr" and "en". And the most important issue of course is compatibility with Django 1.2.x. What are your experiences and preferred apps, and why?

  Hello, I need to convert some code done by someone else, to work in my mvc model It is using some functions like EOD that I don't understand. Does that still work in a class? Primarely, my question focusus on the json output. I hope this was somewhat clear enough? The php manual warns that in some cases you don't get an array output, instead you get an object. So, with the EOD syntax, I am not really sure.   So i just made my first RSS feed, or so i tought, in combination with CI. Now my view DOES display the top of my rss page (Title and Description), But all items are omitted. When i rightclick-view source it DOES contain all the items within the item tags. Can anyone help me? • Problems running Ruby on Rails apps on shared hosted server

  I have problems installing any Ruby On Rails app on my shared hosted server. Mongrel shows html as plain text for all pages. The problem occurs for any app, even if I create a test empty app and add a scaffolded view without changing anything. It appears that the Mongrel crashes when trying to put cookies to the response header. The HTTP header looks incomplete, the Content-type and other parameters are missing: curl 127.0.0.1:12002/users -I HTTP/1.1 200 OK Connection: close Date: Wed, 26 May 2010 09:46:50 GMT Content-Length: 0 Here is the output from mongrel.log Error calling Dispatcher.dispatch #<NoMethodError: You have a nil object when you didn't expect it!   I have the following scenario: I have a button\link with a image inside like this: <button type="submit" id="myButton" class="button"><img src="../../Content/images/check.png" id="defaultImage" /> SaveData!!!</button> We are OK here! Now what I need to do is: I want on the click that the image change for a loading element that is previously loaded in the page like this: <img id="loadingImage" src="../../Content/images/loader.gif" style="display: none;" alt="loading"/> And then when the load complete turn back the old button image, I ended with this code: function loader() { var $button = $('#myButton'); if (btnState == '1') { $button.find('img').hide(); $button.prepend($('#loadingImage')); $('#loadingImage').css({ 'display': 'inherit' }); btnState = '0'; } else { $button.find('img').hide(); $button.prepend($('#defaultImage')); $('#defaultImage').show(); btnState = '1'; } } This does the trick for ONE SINGLE button(since I pass its ID in the function) but, when I have for example a grid with a button on each line, I found inviable when managing a screen with many buttons do this for each of then. The main question is: How can I make this method general for all buttons/links on one specific class in the page? The goal is: Click a button, get the image and change it and stop(can be manual). I just don't wanna have to Hook ALL buttons.

I need to render as tooltip the content shown below (obviously the content is generated dynamically an this it only a proof of concept) <p>Line1</p> <p>Line2 <span style="...">blah blah</span></p> <p>Line3</p> The showBody property seems applicable only to title attributes. Found the problem Apparently jquery.html("...") requires a root tag otherwise generates an empty string.   I'm completely new to JQuery and MVC. I'm working on a pet project that uses both to learn them and I've hit my first snag. I have a date field and I want to add the JQuery datepicker to the UI. Here is what I have done: Added <script src="../../Scripts/jquery-1.3.2.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script> to the site.master Inside my Create.aspx (View), I have <asp:Content ID="Create" ContentPlaceHolderID="MainContent" runat="server"> <h2> Create a Task</h2> <% Html.RenderPartial("TaskForm"); %> </asp:Content> and inside "TaskForm" (a user control) I have: <label for="dDueDate"> Due Date</label> <%= Html.TextBox("dDueDate",(Model.Task.TaskID > 0 ? string.Format("{0:g}",Model.Task.DueDate) : DateTime.Today.ToString("MM/dd/yyyy"))) %> <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function() { $("#dDueDate").datepicker(); }); </script> As you can see, the above checks to see if a task has an id 0 (we're not creating a new one) if it does, it uses the date on the task, if not it defaults to today. I would expect the datepicker UI element to show up, but instead I get: "Microsoft JScript runtime error: Object doesn't support this property or method" on the $("#dDueDate").datepicker(); Ideas? It is probably a very simple mistake, so don't over-analyze. As I said, this is the first time I've dealt with MVC or JQuery so I'm lost as to where to start.
