  • Backward compatibility in dlls

    Hi I do have three dlls. a.dll - released many years ago b.dll - released not so many years c.dll - released shortly Each one contains the same function - unfortunatelly with different parameters. so I do have the following Methods aMethod(param1) aMethod(param1, param2) aMethod(param1, param2, param3) My Task is to make a new dll (or new dlls) wich is backward compatible. But as far as I've learned from Google there is no possibility to overload methods in a dll. Does any one have a tip how I can solve this problem elegantly? -- Michael

But, these rich server side libraries are not available within the browser, which causes a problem when trying to format data client side (AJAX style.) What javascript libraries and techniques are recommended for performing client side formatting and time-zone calculations? Also - beyond simple client side formatting, how can consistency be achieved when performing both server side and client side formatting?

  • Why aren't Admob click callback delegate methods not getting called?

    I'm integrating the latest version of the admob sdk (version 20100412) into my app. The ads get displayed, but I need the app to make some changes when an ad is clicked and admob displays a full-screen browser. However, none of the callback methods (willPresentFullScreenModal, didPresentFullScreenModal, willDismissFullScreenModal, and didDismissFullScreenModal) are called, even though other delegate methods are. Why aren't these callbacks being made? They were in the previous versions of the SDK, and the sample app doesn't use them, so it's no help.

    Hi, I'm using php on apache with mysql. I want to let users enter a url into their browser to see a custom user page for themselves, just like twitter does. For example, they could enter urls like: www.mysite.com/johndoe www.mysite.com/janedoe and see that user's page. How could I do this with php and apache? I don't want to create a folder on disk for every user like above, I'd instead kind of like to catch the url and generate the page on the fly for them, Thanks

  • Dojo treemodel- adding large number of items

    I am trying to add a large number of items (100+) to my tree via ForestStoreModel by calling newItem in a loop. This seems to be quite slow and locks up the browser. Is there any way I can do something similar to grid's beginUpdate & endUpdate? I want to basically 'turn off' my tree, add 100 items in a batch, then 'turn on' my tree. Any ideas? Thanks!

    I'm looking for an online task list tool, what I absolutely need is the infinite number of subtask levels, because that's how my mind works. I don't need collaboration. There are a lot of great to do list sites out there, but for some reason most of them have only one subtask level or no subtasks at all. I know about todoist, but its interface doesn't work for me. There must be many more, I guess. Links to desktop tools with the feature are also appreciated as long as they are cross-platform.

    The latest changesets to Ruby 1.9.2 no longer make the current directory . part of your LOAD_PATH. I have a non-trivial number of Rakefiles that assume that . is part of the LOAD_PATH, so this broke them. Was there a particular justification for doing this? As for a fix, adding $: << "." everywhere works, but seems incredibly hacky and I don't want to do that. What's the preferred way to make my Rakefiles 1.9.2+ compatible?

  • ASP.NET 2.0 control is not shown up un VS 2010 toolbox

    Hi, I have developed some ASP.NET controls in .NET 2.0 with VS 2008. Now, I upgraded my project to VS 2010 but did not change the target framework to .NET 4.0 yet. But, surprisingly, I found that, the toolbox is not showing the bitmaps for the control added to the toolbox in VS 2010. Moreover, when I dragged and dropped a control (.NET 2.0) from the toolbox to my Web Form, I see some junk xml code added to my web form. I dont know if I need to recompile the .NET 2.0 controls with VS 2010 ? or what should I do in order to make the controls compatible for both in VS 2008 and VS 2010 ? I found that, there is no problem with Windows Forms control, rather it is just with ASP.NET Controls.

    I have a member variable of type vector (where is T is a custom class, but it could be int as well.) I have a function from which I want to return a pointer to this vector, but I don't want the caller to be able to change the vector or it's items. So I want the return type to be const vector* None of the casting methods I tried worked. The compiler keeps complaining that T is not compatible with const T. Here's some code that demonstrates the gist of what I'm trying to do; vector<int> a; const vector<const int>* b = (const vector<const int>* ) (&a); This code doesn't compile for me.     Messing about a bit, i have a working Adobe After Effects plugin with a bit of Obj-c / Cocoa in it (NSArray and custom objects - not ui stuff). The SDK guide states:- Always use After Effects memory allocation functions. In low-memory conditions (such as during RAM preview), it’s very important that plug-ins not compete with After Effects for OS memory, and deal gracefully with out-of-memory conditions. Failing to use our functions can cause lock-ups, crashes, and tech support calls. Don’t do that. If you’re wrapping existing C++ code, overloading new and delete to use our functions will save substantial reimplementation. On Windows, derive all classes from a common base class which implements new and delete. so my question.. is something compatible with the above statement possible in Obj-c?
