  • Correct install of Android SDK, ADT with Eclipse 3.6.1

    - by macombej
Following the posted instructions for Eclipse 3.6.1 Classic and Android SDK, ADT (where OS 2.3 is the most current) misses a few steps. Everything seems to work up until the point of loading the ADT in Eclipse. Prior to doing this add the following dependency sites to the list and enable them so that the ADT installer will pickup all the dependencies (thanks MissKaho for the concise list). Eclipse GEF - download.eclipse.org/tools/gef/updates/releases/ Eclipse EMF - download.eclipse.org/modeling/emf/updates/releases/ Eclipse GMF - download.eclipse.org/modeling/gmf/updates/releases Eclipse Webtools - download.eclipse.org/webtools/updates/ Google eclipse Plugin - dl.google.com/eclipse/plugin/3.6

  • Horizontal "tab"ish scroll between views

    - by Steve Pomeroy
I'm interested in creating a horizontal scroll view that "snaps" to the viewed item, so only one item is ever shown at a time. The user can touch-drag left/right and will see previous/next views, switching to it if there's enough velocity. This interaction is exactly like what the new weather/news widget that comes with the Nexus One does for navigating between its "tabs". Are there any existing view widgets that do this? Update: found a copy of the news/weather widget (GenieWidget) and they seem to have implemented their own widget to accomplish this which they call com.google.android.apps.genie.geniewidget.ui.FlingableLinearLayout which is part of their own custom com.google.android.apps.genie.geniewidget.ui.TabView. As that source isn't available, that's not looking too hopeful a direction.

  • Using python to play two sine tones at once

  • C# Stream Reader adding \n to XML

    - by Terry
I use the StreamReader class to obtain XML for my GeoCoding process from Google. StreamReader srGeoCode = new StreamReader(WebRequest.Create(Url).GetResponse().GetResponseStream()); String GeoCodeXml = srGeoCode.ReadToEnd(); XmlDocument XmlDoc = new XmlDocument(); GeoCode oGeoCode = new GeoCode(); XmlDoc.Load(GeoCodeXml); I get XML back but it adds \n and other extras to the XML <?xml version=\"1.0\" encoding=\"UTF-8\" ?>\n<kml xmlns=\"http://earth.google.com/kml/2.0\"><Response>\n <name> I have the same code in VB and it does not do this. I can successfully GeoCode my information using the VB version of this console app. Is there a reason the C# version adds this extra data to the XML that I retrieve back? I am trying my best to convert everything over to C#. I enjoy coding in it over VB.

  • IDE underlining custom attributes

    - by runrunraygun
I have a custom attribute... [System.AttributeUsage(System.AttributeTargets.All)] public class Refactor : System.Attribute { private string _message; public Refactor() { _message = string.Empty; } public Refactor(string message) { _message = message; } } Applied to [Refactor("this should be less rubbish")] public virtual void RubbishMethod() { … } Now when someone makes a call to RubbishMethod I'd like the IDE (vs2008) to underline that call in a deep brown colour, similar to if I mark as Obsolete you get a green wave line. Is this possible? I've been racking my brain and hitting the google but I can't find how and where to do this.

  • Where do you get ArcGIS development questions answered?

    - by nw
Where do you have the most success getting your ArcGIS development questions answered? ESRI forums? Stack Overflow? Google? Mailing lists? Blog posts? ESRI documentation? I can usually get answers to my ASP.NET/Oracle/JavaScript/C# questions in short order, but questions about ESRI products and APIs are a different matter. Posts founder in the forums, Google returns void, etc. I'm sure this is not uncommon for niche commercial products, but frustrating nevertheless. What works for you? Please share.

  • Create a Dellicious Bookmarklet in Firefox using Delicious API

    - by Steve
I want to create a Delicious bookmarklet in Firefox that bookmarks the current page with a predefined tag. For proof of concept, if I enter this url, it works: https://john:[email protected]/v1/posts/add?url=http://www.google.com& description=http://www.google.com&tags=testtag But this as a bookmark doesn't, I get access denied: javascript:( function() { location.href = 'https://john:[email protected]/v1/posts/add?' + encodeURIComponent(window.location.href) + '&description=' + encodeURIComponent(document.title) + '&tags=testtag'; } )() Is this possible via a javascript bookmark?

  • Creating an XML sitemap with PHP

    - by iMaster
    I'm trying to create a sitemap that will automatically update. I've done something similiar with my RSS feed, but this sitemap refuses to work. You can view it live at http://designdeluge.com/sitemap.xml I think the main problem is that its not recognizing the PHP code. Here's the full source: <?php header('Content-type: text/xml'); ?> <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?> <urlset xmlns="http://www.google.com/schemas/sitemap/0.84" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.google.com/schemas/sitemap/0.84 http://www.google.com/schemas/sitemap/0.84/sitemap.xsd"> <url> <loc>http://www.designdeluge.com/</loc> <lastmod>2010-04-29</lastmod> <changefreq>daily</changefreq> <priority>1.00</priority> </url> <url> <loc>http://www.designdeluge.com/archives</loc> <lastmod>2010-04-29</lastmod> <changefreq>daily</changefreq> <priority>0.5</priority> </url> <url> <loc>http://www.designdeluge.com/about.php</loc> <lastmod>2010-04-29</lastmod> <changefreq>daily</changefreq> <priority>0.5</priority> </url> <?php include 'connection.php'; $entries = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM Entries ORDER BY timestamp DESC"); while($row = mysql_fetch_array($entries)) { $title = stripslashes($row['title']); $date = date("Y-m-d", strtotime($row['timestamp'])); ?> <url> <loc>http://www.designdeluge.com/<?php echo $row['title']; ?></loc> <lastmod><?php echo $date; ?></lastmod> <changefreq>none</changefreq> <priority>0.5</priority> </url> <?php } ?> </urlset> The problem is that the dynamic URL's (e.g. the ones pulled from the DB) aren't being generated and the sitemap won't validate. Thanks!

  • OAuth request token for an installed application

    - by Andres
Hi all I'm trying to use/understand Google request token mechanism. I intend to use it for an application I've start to develop to access Orkut data using OpenSocial API. I read this document that explains the steps to obtain a token for an installed application. This document tells you to use the OAuthGetRequestToken method from Google OAuth API to acquire a request token . Accessing the manual of this function (available here). But the parameter oauth_consumer_key, which is required, asks for the "Domain identifying the third-party web application", but I don,t have a domain, it is an installed application. So my question is, what should I put in this parameter in that case? I'm using oauth_playground to run my tests. Thx

  • Can the opensocial API remotely search for users in orkut etc.?

    - by Martin
Does anyone know if (and how) I can build an application (Java/Ruby/whatever) doing REST or RPC calls to a social network like Orkut (using opensocial) to search for a user by name or email address? So far I know that I can list all friends for a particular user ID, but I want to search among all users. Would I need to code it as an app/gadget running inside the google sandbox or is there a way to get a list of matching user ID via REST? So far I got this one to work: http://code.google.com/p/opensocial-ruby-client/wiki/GettingStarted. But with this API and the gadget linked there I only get people that are already linked to me... Thanks for answers, Martin

  • "return false" is ignored in certain browsers for link added dynamically to the DOM with JavaScript

    - by AlexV
I dynamically add an <a> (link) tag to the DOM with: var link = document.createElement('a'); link.href = 'http://www.google.com/'; link.onclick = function () { window.open(this.href); return false; }; link.appendChild(document.createTextNode('Google')); //someDomNode.appendChild(link); I want the link to open in a new window (I know it's bad, but it's required) and I don't want to use the target attribute. My code works well in IE and Firefox, but the return false don't work in Safari, Chrome and Opera. By don't work I mean the link is followed after the new window is opened.

  • GWT UIBinding cannot find zero-arg constructor

    - by aarestad
I'm trying my hand at the new GWT 2.0 UIBinder capability, and I have a ui XML that looks like this: <ui:UiBinder xmlns:ui="urn:ui:com.google.gwt.uibinder" xmlns:g="urn:import:com.google.gwt.user.client.ui" xmlns:my='urn:import:com.mystuff.mypackage'> <g:VerticalPanel> <!-- other stuff --> <my:FileUploadPanel.ValidatingFileUpload styleName="field" ui:field="fileUpload" /> </g:VerticalPanel> ValidatingFileUpload is a non-static inner class contained in FileUploadPanel. It has an explicit zero-arg constructor that simply calls super(). However, when GWT starts up, I get this error: 00:00:18.359 [ERROR] Rebind result 'com.mystuff.mypackage.FileUploadPanel.ValidatingFileUpload' has no default (zero argument) constructors. java.lang.NoSuchMethodException: com.mystuff.mypackage.FileUploadPanel$ValidatingFileUpload.<init>() Any idea what might be going wrong here?

  • Async actions inside Silverlight Method - returning the value

    - by tyndall
What is the proper way to call an Async framework component - wait for an answer and then return the value. AKA contain the entire request/response in a single method. Example code: public class Experiment { public Experiment() { } public string GetSomeString() { WebClient wc = new WebClient(); wc.DownloadStringCompleted += new DownloadStringCompletedEventHandler(wc_DownloadStringCompleted); Uri u = new Uri("http://news.google.com/news?pz=1&cf=all&ned=us&hl=en&topic=t&output=rss"); wc.DownloadStringAsync(u); return "the news RSS from Google"; } private void wc_DownloadStringCompleted(object sender, DownloadStringCompletedEventArgs e) { //don't really see how this callback method makes it able // to return the answer I'm looking for on the return // statement in the method above. } } MORE INFO: The reason I'm asking this that I have a project I'm working on where I'd like JavaScript code in the browser to use Silverlight like a Facade/Proxy to Web services and complex calculations & operations. I'd like to make the calls to the [ScriptableMembers] in Silvelight synchronously. I don't want Silverlight to callback into the browser's JavaScript

  • How do I know if have RSI or carpal tunnel?

    - by saniul
I feel that this is a much better place to ask this than a medical forum, we have ~250 people who spent most of their day in front of a computer. Does anyone here have any experience with such injuries? How/when did you find out? What did you do (if anything)? I don't know if I have the RSI, but I can tell you that I can "crack" my wrist and almost any one of my fingers whenever I want. Also, my wrist sometimes hurts me when I type for a very long time (especially on a laptop keyboard I have very long fingers so the palm is in an uncomfortable position most of the time) Is this normal? I bought a Logitech Wave keyboard, obviously it feels much better than the laptop keyboard, but I can't really tell if it helps the "cracking" and my wrist still sometimes hurts.

  • Regex to find external links from the html file using grep

    - by Amar
hello, From past few days I'm trying to develop a regex that fetch all the external links from the web pages given to it using grep. Here is my grep command grep -h -o -e "\(\(mailto:\|\(\(ht\|f\)tp\(s\?\)\)\)\://\)\{1\}\(.*\?\)" "/mnt/websites_folder/folder_to_search" -r now the grep seem to return everything after the external links in that given line Example if an html file contain something like this on same line GoogleYahoo then the given grep command return the following result http://www.google.com">Google</a><p><a href='https://yahoo.com'>Yahoo</a></p> the idea here is that if an html file contain more than one links(`irrespective in a,img etc`) in same line then the regex should fetch only the links and not all content of that line I managed to developed the same in rubular.com the regex is as follow ("|')(\b((ht|f)tps?:\/\/)(.*?)\b)("|') with work with the above input but iam not able to replicate the same in grep can anyone help I can't modify the html file so don't ask me to do that neither I can look for each specific tags and check their attributes to to get external links as it addup processing time and my application doesn't demand that Thank You

  • Android NDK Question

    - by Kyle
The NDK does not contain very many shared libraries for you to access. As a result, I must build many sources myself and link them into my shared library via static/shared libraries. I want to compile libpng as a Static Library. Trouble is, I have absolutely no idea how, nor does google instruct you how to do so in their NDK. I'm no expert on the NDK even after reading everything I can find, so I would really appreciate someone who actually knows how this is done. I do have the Android.mk file for libpng, as google's Android OS source contains it. Infact, I got the entire directory on the android OS source for libpng and it's dependent libraries. It was somewhat of a shortcut instead of making one myself. I don't know how to make a particular directory which contains this file, though. Thanks for reading!

  • Including libraries in project. Best practise.

    - by mridang
Hi guys, I'm writing a Python open-source app. My app uses some open source Python libraries. These libraries in turn use other open-source libraries. I intend to release my code at Sourceforge or Google Code but do I need to include the sources of the other libraries? Is this a good practice? ...or should I simply write this information into a README file informing the use about the other required libraries. I've placed all these libraries into a libs sub folder in my source directory. When checking my code into SVN, should I use something called svn:externals to link to other sources? Is there a way to dynamically update my libraries to the latest version or is this something I have to do manually when I release a new version. My sincerest apologies if my question sounds vague but I'm pretty lost in this matter and I don't know what to Google for. Thanks all.

  • How to play sound in Python WITHOUT interrupting music/other sounds from playing

    - by Morlock
I'm working on a timer in python which sounds a chime when the waiting time is over. I use the following code: from wave import open as wave_open from ossaudiodev import open as oss_open def _play_chime(): """ Play a sound file once. """ sound_file = wave_open('chime.wav','rb') (nc,sw,fr,nf,comptype, compname) = sound_file.getparams( ) dsp = oss_open('/dev/dsp','w') try: from ossaudiodev import AFMT_S16_NE except ImportError: if byteorder == "little": AFMT_S16_NE = ossaudiodev.AFMT_S16_LE else: AFMT_S16_NE = ossaudiodev.AFMT_S16_BE dsp.setparameters(AFMT_S16_NE, nc, fr) data = sound_file.readframes(nf) sound_file.close() dsp.write(data) dsp.close() It works pretty good, unless any other device is already outputing sound. How could I do basically the same (under linux) without having the prerequisite that no sound is being played? If you think the process would require an API to ensure software mixing, please suggest a method :) Thx for the support

  • Mapstraction: Changing an Icon's image URL after it has been added?

    - by Paul Owens
    I am trying to use marker.setIcon() to change a markers image. However it appears that although this changes the marker.iconUrl attribute the icon itself is using marker.proprietary_marker.$.icon.image to display the markers image - so the markers icon remains unchanged. Is there a way to dynamically change the marker.proprietary_marker.$.icon.image? Add a marker. Check the icon's image url and the proprietary icon's image - they're the same. Change the icon. Again check the Urls. Now the Icon Url has changed but the marker still shows the old image which is in the proprietary marker object. <head> <title>Map Test</title> <script src="http://maps.google.com/maps?file=api&v=2&key=Your-Google-API-Key" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="mapstraction.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> var map; var marker; function getMap(){ map = new mxn.Mapstraction('myMap','google'); map.setCenterAndZoom(new mxn.LatLonPoint(45.559242,-122.636467), 15); } function addMarker(){ marker = new mxn.Marker(new mxn.LatLonPoint(45.559242, -122.636467)); marker.addData({infoBubble : "Text", label : "Label", marker : 4, icon: "http://mapscripting.com/examples/mashups/richter-high.png"}); map.addMarker(marker); } function changeIcon(){ marker.setIcon("http://assets1.mapufacture.com/images/markers/usgs_marker.png"); } function showIconURL(){ alert(marker.iconUrl); } function showProprietaryIconURL(){ alert(marker.proprietary_marker.$.icon.image); } </script> </head> <body onload="getMap()"> <div id="myMap" style="width:627px; height:412px;"></div> <div> <input type="button" value="add marker" OnClick="addMarker();"> <input type="button" value="change icon" OnClick="changeIcon();"> <input type="button" value="show icon URL" OnClick="showIconURL();"> <input type="button" value="show proprierty icon URL " OnClick="showProprietaryIconURL();"> </div> </body> </html>
