  Hello, I'd like to use jQuery UI autocomplete in order to load a list from my database but I don't know wich method I should use to do so. I tried to use the "Remote datasource" method [url]http://jqueryui.com/demos/autocomplete/#remote[/url], but it obviously doesn't work.   I have a local collection of recordId's (integers). I need to retrieve records that have every one of their child records' ids in that local collection. Here is my query: public List<int> OwnerIds { get; private set; } ... filteredPatches = from p in filteredPatches where OwnerIds.All(o => p.PatchesOwners.Select(x => x.OwnerId).Contains(o)) select p; I am getting this error: Local sequence cannot be used in Linq to SQL implementation of query operators except the Contains() operator. I get that .All() isn't supported by Linq to SQL, but is there a way to do what I am trying to do?

Also, I enabled the trace on the driver, which gives you some nice autotrace (ala Oracle) info as long as the query succeeds. But in this case, the driver blows a NoHostAvailableException and no ExecutionInfo is available, so tracing has not provided any benefit in this case. I also find it interesting that this does not seem to be recorded as a timeout (my JMX consoles tell me no timeouts have occurred). So, I am left not understanding WHERE the failure is actually occurring. I am left with the idea that it is the driver that is having a problem, but I don't know how to debug it (and I would really like to). I have read several posts from folks that state that query'g for resultSets 10000 rows is probably not a good idea, and I am willing to accept this, but I would like to understand what is causing the exception and where the exception is happening. FWIW, I also tried bumping the timeout properties in the cassandra.yaml, but this made no difference whatsoever. I welcome any suggestions, anecdotes, insults, or monetary contributions for my registration in the house of moron-developers. Regards!!

Site news/announcements will be posted through it too. Now, will it be a wise idea to use wordpress for this purpose, or should I develop custom blogging system myself? • Debugging dynamic sql + dynamic tables in MS SQL Server 2008.

  Hi, I have a messy stored procedure which uses dynamic sql. I can debug it in runtime by adding print @sql; where @sql; is the string containing the dynamic SQL, right before I call execute (@sql);. Now, the multi-page stored procedure also creates dynamic tables and uses them in a query. I want to print those tables to the console right before I do an execute, so that I know exactly what the query is trying to do. However, the SQL Server 08 does not like that. When I try: print #temp_table; and try to compile the S.P. I get this error: The name "#temp_table" is not permitted in this context. Valid expressions are constants, constant expressions, and (in some contexts) variables. Column names are not permitted. Please help.

• Hot to get XChat to trust CA certificate?

  I have created an SSL certificate authority including a sub-authority to issue certificates. I have copied the root certificate to /usr/share/ca-certificates/extra and added it to /etc/ca-certificates, then ran dpkg-reconfigure ca-certificates and update-ca-certificates. After it said "Adding debian:.pem done." I am now fairly convinced that Ubuntu knows about my CA. Now I issued a certificate for the ZNC irc bouncer from the subca, installed it onto znc, but XChat will not trust the certificate despite all the above. I also issued a certificate to use with apache2 and that one works fine after adding the root ca to chromium. Does someone know how I can get XChat to trust the certificate?

• trouble with utf-8 chars & apache2 rewrite rules

  I see the post http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2565864/validating-utf-8-in-htaccess-rewrite-rule and I think that is great, but a more fundamental problem I am having first: I needed to expand to handle utf-8 chars for query string parameters, names of directories, files, and used in displays to users etc. I configured my Apache with DefaultCharset utf-8 and also my php if that matters. My original rewrite rule filtered everything except regular A-Za-z and underscore and hyphen. and it worked. Anything else would give you a 404 (which is what I want!) Now, however it seems that everything matches, including stuff I don't want, however, although it seems to match it doesn't go in the query string unless it is a regular A-Za-z_- character string. I find this confusing, because the rule says put whatever you matched into the query string: Here is the original rule: RewriteRule ^/puzzle/([A-Za-z_-]+)$ /puzzle.php?g=$1 [NC] and here is the revised rule: RewriteRule ^/puzzle/(\w+)$ /puzzle.php?g=$1 [NC] I made the change because somewhere I read that \w matches ALL the alpha chars where as A-Zetc. only matches the ones without accents and stuff. It doesn't seem to matter which of those rules I use: Here is what happens: In the application I have this: echo $_GET['g']; If I feed it a url like http://mydomain.com/puzzle/USA it echoes out "USA" and works fine. If I feed it a url like http://mydomain.com/puzzle/México it echoes nothing for that and warns me that index g is not defined and of course doesn't get resources for Mexico. if I feed it a url like http://mydomain.com/puzzle/fuzzle/buzzle/j.qle it does the same thing. This last case should be a 404! And it does this no matter which of the above rules I use. I configured a rewrite log RewriteLogLevel 5 RewriteLog /opt/local/apache2/logs/puzzles.httpd.rewrite but it is empty. Here is from the regular access log (it gives a status of 200) [26/May/2010:11:21:42 -0700] "GET /puzzle/M%C3%A9xico HTTP/1.1" 200 342 [26/May/2010:11:21:54 -0700] "GET /puzzle/M/l.foo HTTP/1.1" 200 342 What can I do to get these $%#$@(*#@!!! characters but not slash, dot or other non-alpha into my program, and once there, will it decode them correctly??? Would posix char classes work any better? Is there anything else I need to configure?

• IE8 AJAX GET setRequestHeaders not working unless params provided in URL

In IE8 however, all of my AJAX test requests work EXCEPT for ones where I'm performing GETs without any query string params (such as the one above). POSTs work without question, and GET requests only work whenever I include query strings in the URL, like this: xhr.open( 'GET', '/ajax/?foo=bar' ) I'm also 110% positive that my server code is handling these requests appropriately, so, this stumps me completely. Does anyone have any clue as to what might be causing this?

• Getting results in a result set from dynamic SQL in Oracle

  This question is similar to a couple others I have found on StackOverflow, but the differences are signficant enough to me to warrant a new question, so here it is: I want to obtain a result set from dynamic SQL in Oracle and then display it as a result set in a SqlDeveloper-like tool, just as if I had executed the dynamic SQL statement directly. This is straightforward in SQL Server, so to be concrete, here is an example from SQL Server that returns a result set in SQL Server Management Studio or Query Explorer: EXEC sp_executesql N'select * from countries' Or more properly: DECLARE @stmt nvarchar(100) SET @stmt = N'select * from countries' EXEC sp_executesql @stmt The question "How to return a resultset / cursor from a Oracle PL/SQL anonymous block that executes Dynamic SQL?" addresses the first half of the problem--executing dynamic SQL into a cursor. The question "How to make Oracle procedure return result sets" provides a similar answer. Web search has revealed many variations of the same theme, all addressing just the first half of my question. I found this post explaining how to do it in SqlDeveloper, but that uses a bit of functionality of SqlDeveloper. I am actually using a custom query tool so I need the solution to be self-contained in the SQL code. This custom query tool similarly does not have the capability to show output of print (dbms_output.put_line) statements; it only displays result sets. Here is yet one more possible avenue using 'execute immediate...bulk collect', but this example again renders the results with a loop of dbms_output.put_line statements. This link attempts to address the topic but the question never quite got answered there either. Assuming this is possible, I will add one more condition: I would like to do this without having to define a function or procedure (due to limited DB permissions). That is, I would like to execute a self-contained PL/SQL block containing dynamic SQL and return a result set in SqlDeveloper or a similar tool. So to summarize: I want to execute an arbitrary SQL statement (hence dynamic SQL). The platform is Oracle. The solution must be a PL/SQL block with no procedures or functions. The output must be generated as a canonical result set; no print statements. The output must render as a result set in SqlDeveloper without using any SqlDeveloper special functionality. Any suggestions?

  I have manually redirected my entire site. The only page that's left is the homepage. How do I redirect my homepage to the new site (http://example.com) but keep my sitemaps on the old domain (www.example.com)? Below is the structure for the sitemap urls: Main - http://www.example.com/sitemap.xml Sub - http://www.example.com/sitemap-pt-post-2013-07.xml (Month and year are the only parts that change) I have tried this and the site redirects but GWT tells me that I dont have a 301 set: RewriteEngine on RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} olddomain\.com [NC] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} ^/$ Rewriterule ^(.*)$ http://newdomain.com/ [L,R=301] P.S. I want to do this so that I could track the 301 in GWT and etc. until things a finalized.

• Keyring Password, Unity in 11.10

  Login to 11.10 I input my password and shortly afterward I am asked for a keyring password. I realize that I was asked for this during installation (second time lucky!) and I did enter a password (what a mistaka to maka). This now entails my having to input the keyring password on every boot up! Looking at previous answers it would seem that the applications - accesories - password and encryption keys - was the suggested route. However I assume that was in Gnome (At this stage I look back in fondness!!!) Certainly, I don't get the same route in Unity! I saw a reference to seahorse in a terminal - but this results in several error reports and a sub windows which does not seem to open. The objective in this exercise is to log in using the login password and not also the keyring password! any help would be appreciated - thank you

In doing this the concepts of key objects (the Nouns) have been identified along with the key context for their use. While OAGIS Ten remains a work-in-process the work group shows progress. Going forward the other councils will provide additional input to these and there own concepts and the contexts for each. Additionally, sub groups will focus on concepts for given domains.   This is code that worked fine on Windows XP for years. User is not local administrator. On XP this works fine without being admin. On this link MS states that 'Windows 7: Low-integrity users have read-only permissions for local WMI operations.'. I guess this is the problem. But I can't find any clue on how to change this.

  I'm lazy loading my Doctrine classes in my website. Benchmarking has showed that Doctrine::loadModels('models') takes over 100 ms to complete! I have 118 tables in total, but still... setting attribute to conservative loading: Doctrine_Manager::getInstance()->setAttribute(Doctrine::ATTR_MODEL_LOADING, Doctrine::MODEL_LOADING_CONSERVATIVE); running the benchmark part: $CI->benchmark->mark('Doctrineload_start'); Doctrine::loadModels(APPPATH.'models'); $CI->benchmark->mark('Doctrineload_end'); And the result: Doctrineload 0.1085 (seconds) Is this 'normal'? • PHP array : simple question about multidimensional array

  Hello, i've got a SQL query which returns multiple rows, and i have : $data = array( "nom" => $row['nom'] , "prix" => $row['rapport'], "average" => "$moyenne_ge" ); which is perfect, but only if my query returns one row. i tried that : $data = array(); $data[$row['nom']]["nom"] = $row['nom'] ; ... $data[$row['nom']]['average'] = "$moyenne_ge"; in order to have : $data[brand1][nom] = brand1 $data[brand1][average] = 150$ $data[brand2][nom] = brand2 $data[brand2][average] = 20$ ... but when i do : json_encode($data) i only have the latest JSON object instead of all JSON object from my request as if my array has only one brand instead of 10. What SQL query would you use to SELECT all items in the table along with their depth where the depth of an item is the sum of all parents and grand parents of that item. • Skipping video and audio with PS3MediaServer

  I'm using the latest PS3MediaServer build right from the repos suggested in the Ubuntu Wiki. I'm streaming multiple movies from my server (Ubuntu 10.04 LTS) to my PS3 over wireless. Sometimes, during some movies, the audio and the video will begin skipping. This can last anywhere between 5 and 30 seconds before it goes back to normal. I have a four core i5 processor and 8GB of DDR3 RAM so I don't think my computer is having a hard time keeping up with the transcoding. So this leads me to believe it's either sub-optimal transcoding options from within PS3MS or my network can't handle the heat. Other than the out-of-box configuration, is there any way I can tweak the settings for the application to use my resources more efficiently?

• Web Services: more frequent "small" calls, or less frequent "big" calls

  In general, is it better to have a web application make lots of calls to a web service getting smaller chunks of data back, or to have the web app make fewer calls and get larger chunks of data? In particular, I'm building a Silverlight app that needs to get large amounts of data back from the server in response to a query created by a user. Each query could return anywhere from a few hundred records to a few thousand. Each record has around thirty fields of mostly decimal-type data. I've run into the situation before where the payload size of the response exceeded the maximum allowed by the service. I'm wondering whether it's better (more efficient for the server/client/web service) to cut this payload vertically--getting all values for a single field with each call--or horizontally--getting batches of complete records with each call. Or does it matter?

• Flex+JPA/Hibernate+BlazeDS+MySQL how to debug this monster?!

  Ok so I'm making a "simple" web app using the technologies from the topic, recently I found http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flex/articles/flex_hibernate.html so I'm following it and I try to apply it to my app, the only difference being I'm working on a Mac and I'm using MAMP for the database (so no command line for me). The thing is I'm having some trouble with retrieving/connecting to the database. I have the remoting-config.xml, persistance.xml, a News.java class (my Entity), a NewsService.java class, a News.as class - all just like in the tutorial. I have of course this line in one of my .mxmls: <mx:RemoteObject id="loaderService" destination="newsService" result="handleLoadResult(event)" fault="handleFault(event)" showBusyCursor="true" /> And my remoting-config.xml looks like this (well part of it): <destination id="newsService"> <properties><source>com.gamelist.news.NewsService</source></properties> </destination> NewsService has a method: public List<News> getLatestNews() { EntityManagerFactory emf = Persistence.createEntityManagerFactory(PERSISTENCE_UNIT); EntityManager em = emf.createEntityManager(); Query findLatestQuery = em.createNamedQuery("news.findLatest"); List<News> news = findLatestQuery.getResultList(); return news; } And the named query is in the News class: @Entity @Table(name="GLT_NEWS") @NamedQueries({ @NamedQuery(name="news.findLatest", query="from GLT_NEWS order by new_date_added limit 5 ") }) The handledLoadResult looks like this: private function handleLoadResult(ev:ResultEvent):void { newsList = ev.result as ArrayCollection; newsRecords = newsList.length; } Where: [Bindable] private var newsList:ArrayCollection = new ArrayCollection(); But when I try to trigger: loaderService.getLatestNews(); nothing happens, newsList is empty. Basically the question is how am I suppose to debug this thing so I can find the mistake I'm making?   I'm grabbing a handful of events from an event log in chronological order don't want to pipe to Where want to use get-winevent After I get the Event1, I need to get the 1st instance of another event that occurs some unknown amount of time after Event1. then grab Event3 that occurs sometime after Event2 etc. Basically starting with: $filterXML = @' <QueryList> <Query Id="0" Path="System"> <Select Path="System">*[System[Provider[@Name='Microsoft-Windows-Kernel-General'] and (Level=4 or Level=0) and (EventID=12)]]</Select> </Query> </QueryList> '@ $event1=(Get-WinEvent -ComputerName $PCname -MaxEvents 1 -FilterXml $filterXML).timecreated Give me the datetime of Event1. Then I want to do something like: Get-WinEvent -LogName "System" -MaxEvents 1 -FilterXPath "*[EventData[Data = 'Windows Management Instrumentation' and TimeCreated -gt $event1]]" Obviously the timecreated part bolded there doesn't work but I hope you get what I'm trying to do. any help?
