    Hi All, I am trying to consume REST API from my .NET Application. This API's are all written in JAVA. I am asked to pass the authentication credentials vis HTTP headers. How can I pass these authentication credentials like 'DATE', 'AUTHORIZATION' and 'Accept' via HTTP headers. Which class in .NET can I use to accomplish this task. Can anyone help me with this?   • Applications of concurrent queues and stacks in .NET 4

    .NET 4 includes new concurrent data structures. The Bag and Dictionary collections have obvious applications but I cannot see any use for the Queue and Stack data structures. What are people using these for? Also, I've noticed that the design based upon linked lists incurs a lot of allocation and that destroys scalability. This is surprising given that the sole purpose of these collections is multicore programming. Is this an inherent limitation or are they just badly implemented?

    iam using asp.net and asp.net-ajax every thing happens on browser urls are of format http://somepage#page1 http://somepage#page2 http://somepage#page3 now all these urls are in a secured folder when logged in user directly types (or use bookmark) a url like below, he is shown that page http://somepage#page2 -- (bookmarked url lying in secured folder) now when a user user who is not logged in directly type above url he gets redirected to login page but on login page in redirection url iam unable to read characters after pound (#) sign. iam just getting redirection url= "http://somepage" while i want it to be "http://somepage#page2" is there is any way i can do this

    Does the .NET String.Format method allow placement of a string at a fixed position within a fixed length string. " String Goes Here" " String Goes Here " "String Goes Here " How is this done using .NET? Edit - I have tried Format/PadLeft/PadRight to death. They do not work. I don't know why. I ended up writing my own function to do this. Edit - I made a mistake and used a colon instead of a comma in the format specifier. Should be "{0,20}".     Hi, I can't seem to get the jQuery.ajax() function posting back any of my asp.net generated form controls. I've put a break point on the server side and there aren't any values. Is there a way around this or do I have to build up a list of what I want sent back? Another question slightly off topic, but it seems that although jQuery is a great JS library, it doesn't seem to integrate too well with .net. Has anyone given up with jQuery to perform server side interaction and just gone with ms ajax implementation?

  • ASP.Net website makes browser load unwanted (non-referenced) plugins

    I've found that some of my ASP.Net web apps prompt the browser to load plugins that I'm not explicitely using and certainly haven't deliberately referenced in the project settings. Two that come to mind are for MS MediaPlayer and the "SVG Viewer for Netscape". The only commonality I've determined so far is that the two sites/apps affected both use Master pages (nested in some cases). We don't use SVG file types (just the normal mix of jpg/gif/png) and no video/audio (not yet anyway). Can anyone provide a hint as to where the references for these might be creeping in? e.g. Is it a server-level include? Or a .Net runtime default when using master pages? Does anyone else even experience this, or is it just me? No urgency, I'd just like to remove it if possible. Thanks. Al

    I would like to implement a way to trace every line of code in an application that is written for .net v4.0. An example would be. If I had the following function. private bool hasValue(string value) { if(string.isnullorempty(value) { return false; } else { return true; }} Then when the function is called I want detailed trace logs to contain something like this: Function called |Line 10 |Signature private bool hasValue(string value)|ValuesPassed hasValue("") Line Evaluated | Line 11 | if(string.isnullorempty(value) |ValuesPassed if(string.isnullorempty("") - evaluation returned true entered line 13 |signature return false|return action taken. This tracing can be done manually, but its a lot of work, and would dirty the code. Isn't there a way to get this level of tracing automatically with .net or 3rd party plugin? Thank you

When a user is editing the model, I would like a particular drop-down to be rendered as text as I don't want them to change it. A read-only drop-down would suffice, but I'd prefer text.     Q: I have the following case : set of letters (grades) A,A+,A-,B,B+,B- stored as strings in the database i wanna to order these grades logically from the small one to the big one ,, but this not what happen in real.. because these are strings the order is: A,A+,A- i wanna ASC A-,A,A+ DESC A+,A,A- i bind those grades in drop down list and i wanna these grades with this logical order in it.. is there any idea how to do something like this..
