• facebook oauth dialog doesn´t start

  Hi i got the following problem: I want the user to authenticate my app, so i want to show the authorisation dialog. To do this, i tried the api function FB.api("/dialog/oauth", "get", {client_id: APP_ID, redirect_uri: URI}, function(response){ console.log(response); }); But i get this error: code: 2500 message: "Unknown path components: /oauth" type: "OAuthException" But why? The FB.api call should be the same like http://www.facebook.com/dialog/oauth?client_id=<app-id>&redirect_uri=<uri> If i put this url in the browser directly, the dialog is shown. ('window.location' also doesn´t work because of x-frame-options)

  Where does Internet Explorer store saved passwords? And since this is a programming site, i'm not literally asking for the location where IE stores passwords, but which API ie uses to save passwords. At first i assumed that Microsoft was using the standard api: CredRead CredWrite which is used to save domain and generic program/web-site credentials. CredRead/CredWrite turn around and use CryptProtectData CryptUnprotectData to encrypt data with the current user's account. CredRead/CredWrite then store the data in some magical location, which contents you can see from the control panel: But i don't see IE passwords in there. So ie doesn't store passwords using CredRead/CredWrite. What api does IE use to store passwords, and if it uses CryptProtectData, where does it then store the protected data?

• Error installing php extension OAuth via pecl

  I'm trying to install the php extension OAuth in my local environment. php.net suggests it's super easy. You just run pecl install oauth. I tried this, and here is the output in terminal: downloading oauth-1.0.0.tgz ... • What's wrong with the analogy between software and building construction?

  Many people like to think of building software as constructing a building so we have terms like building blocks and architecture. However, lately I've been to a couple of talks and most people say this analogy is wrong especially around the idea of having a non-coding software architect in a project. In my experience, good software architects are those who also write code so they won't design things that only looks good on paper. I've worked with several Architecture Astronauts, who have either limited or outdated experience in programming. These architecture astronauts quite often missed out critical details in their design and cause more harm than good in a project. This makes me wonder what are the differences between constructing a software and a building? How come in the building industry they can have architects who probably never build a house in their life and purely handles design work but not in the software development field?

  I'm building an iPad app that will have multiple paper pages and I'd like to implement a page transition affect that is similar to the animation you see when you turn pages in the iBooks app on the iPad. A few questions... Is that animation readily available somewhere in the UIKit API or would I have to implement it myself? If I have to implement it myself, what's a good approach or API I should look into? It definitely has a 3d feel to it, could they be using the OpenGL ES API for that?   Hello, I need to InterOp Win32 code (unmanaged Win32 DLL's and Exe) completely with .NET. I need to call Win32 unmanaged code(DLL exported functions) at runtime i.e (knowing the types of data types in Win32 signatures and need to pass data according to that type at runtime). This is 100% possible in case of COM. You can convert COM unmanaged code to managed assemblies using tlbimp.exe and use now reflection API to work with those managed types(actual were unmanaged types now converted managed using tlbimp). But same functionality I need to get in terms of Win32(i.e) in .NET framework. How?? I know MS provided Export table reading API ..but I couldn't find exact API for InterOp of Win32 unmanaged code Regards

• using AudioQueues with AudioFileReadBytes

  Hey Im trying to work with Audio queues to play a very big mp3 file (arround 23 hours long). when audio queue asks for buffers though callback, im using AudioFileReadBytes() API to read the bytes from audio file and feed the queue. startQueue fails with the error : prime failed any inputs????? Also I succeeded playing file using AudioFileReadPackets API instead of AudioFileReadBytes(). But the problem with API is that when I seek (fast forward) by a long interval, say 9 hours (for example fast forward from 32 mins playtime to 9:32 mins) then AudioFileReadPackets() takes a long time (almost 2 mins) to read from new location. any comments would be greatly appreciated.

  What impact do you think html5 will have on the workflow/way graphic design is done for the web? Right now most designers stay in an Adobe tool, doing most of the design work there, and implement some elements with graphics and some with code. Checking out http://www.apple.com/html5/ it seems that almost everything done in a graphic can be done in code. Will designers have to learn very advanced levels of html5 and do the actual design work in the browser or do you see a more "designer friendly" gui being made for html/graphics work? Will tools like photoshop evolve in a way that handles this new lack of image files?

What wrong with my payload? The response is get is: ["Name can't be blank","Workspace can't be blank"] which leads me to conclude that the authentication works but toggl cannot read my json object.

Is there an available API or functionality in cocoa where i can communicate with my GSM Phone to listen to any incoming SMS messages and be able to send messages myself. • Is there a COM object that just implements IUnknown I can use?

  For an asynchronous Windows API, I can provide an IUnknown state parameter to associate calls to the API with calls from the callback. It's my understanding that COM guarantees that two IUnknown pointers to the same object will be of the same value. Thus, if I only want to associate API calls with callbacks, IUnknown should be all I need, by comparing the values of the pointers. Is there a stock implementation of IUnknown I can use? Of course it would be trivial to implement myself, but for such a base component of COM, I'm wondering if Windows or ATL provides one I should use instead. Thanks, --Matt

  I have a database containing tables with more than 600 million records and a set of stored procedures that make complex search operations on the database. The performance of the stored procedures is so slow even with suitable indexes on the tables. The design of the database is a normal relational db design. I want to change the database design to be multidimensional and use the MDX queries instead of the traditional T-SQL queries but the question is: Is the MDX query better than the traditional T-SQL query with regard to performance? and if yes, to what extent will that improve the performance of the queries?   Hi all, I'm currently trying to use the zlib to inflate a source of gzipped data. It seems that the inflate API in zlib cannot inflate a gzipped data ( The example http://www.zlib.net/zpipe.c fails to read a gzipped file: "zpipe: invalid or incomplete deflate data" ). I noticed that there is a gzopen function in this API, but , as far as I understand, it only works with a filename or a file descriptor. Can I use this API if my source of gzipped data is stored in memory, in a sql blob, etc... ? Many Thanks Pierre

  I'm using the Mate framework for Flex and communicating with a server running C#. I'm having trouble mapping C# classes to ActopnScript classes. I've got it working fine for simple classes and built in datatypes. If I have a C# method in my API that returns a API.Foo.Result what name do I use for my RemoteClass alias? Do I need to make a separate ActionScript class for each variation of the API.Foo.Result? How do I call C# method that takes a class as a parameter? Making an ActionScript class with members with the same names doesn't seem to work. What is the best way to handle C# classes that contain arrays of objects? The seem to get converted to ArrayCollections of Object. Is there a way to get them converted to an ArrayCollection of my specific class?

• Dealing with ISO-encoding in AJAX requests (prototype)

  I have a HTML-page, that's encoded in ISO-8859-1 and a Prototype-AJAX call that's build like this: new Ajax.Request('api.jsp', { method: 'get', parameters: {...}, onSuccess: function(transport) { var ajaxResponse = transport.responseJSON; alert(ajaxResponse.msg); } }); The api.jsp returns its data in ISO-8859-1. The response contains special characters (German Umlauts) that are not displayed correctly, even if I add a "encoding: ISO-8895-1" to the AJAX-request. Does anyone know how to fix this? If I call api.jsp in a new browser window separately the special characters are also corrupt. And I can't get any information about the used encoding in the response header. The response header looks like this: Server Apache-Coyote/1.1 Content-Type application/json Content-Length 208 Date Thu, 29 Apr 2010 14:40:24 GMT Notice: Please don't advice the usage of UTF-8. I have to deal with ISO-8859-1.

• How to crawl retweets of a certain user?

  I studied the Twitter API Documentation today. Only find that we could use "Twitter REST API Method: statuses user_timeline" to acquire statuses of a certain user. Retweets are stripped out of the user_timeline for backwards compatibility reasons. If I want retweets included, API Documentation recommend "statuses retweeted_by_me", but retweeted_by_me cannot return the retweets by other users. I think maybe we can analyse the twitter webpage of a certain user to get his retweets. However is there any elegant way to crawl retweets of a certain user? Thanks in advance!

I usually get design from client with multiple font size and line heights at various places in design. for some good reason i still use em without getting nested element problem and font-size inconsistencies in IE and others. then after setting how to manage and update easily ,and how to calculate ems I want to set easily manageable font sizes and I want to set Line height manually (because it can be different for various places in design. And for which things we should define line-height or for which not? How to set font-size and line-height to get consistent result. and if i'm using em for font-sizing then should i also use bottom-margin of h1, p, li etc in em? • Problem with IE using 960.gs

  I'm using the 960.gs CSS framework on a site and have hit problems almost instantly with IE (7, though I assume 6 is no better). <html> <head> <link rel="stylesheet" href="design/reset.css" /> <link rel="stylesheet" href="design/960.css" /> <link rel="stylesheet" href="design/text.css" /> </head> <body> <div class="container_12">abc</div> </body> </html> Given this HTML above (the CSS is just the files bundled with 960), Firefox and Chrome centre the grid, whereas IE pushes it to the left. I've used 960 before without any issues, so I think I must just be doing something really stupid. Can anyone help?
