• ASP.NET MVC tries to load older version of Owin assembly

  As a bit of context, I'm developing an ASP.NET MVC 5 application that uses OAuth-based authentication via Microsoft's OWIN implementation, for Facebook and Google only at this stage. Currently (as of v3.0.0, git-commit 4932c2f), the FacebookAuthenticationOptions and GoogleOAuth2AuthenticationOptions don't provide any property to force Facebook nor Google respectively to reauthenticate users (via appending the appropriate query string parameters) when signing in. Initially, I set out to override the following classes: FacebookAuthenticationOptions GoogleOAuth2AuthenticationOptions FacebookAuthenticationHandler (specifically AuthenticateCoreAsync()) GoogleOAuth2AuthenticationHandler (specifically AuthenticateCoreAsync()) yet discovered that the ~AuthenticationHandler classes are marked as internal. So I pulled a copy of the source for the Katana project (http://katanaproject.codeplex.com/) and modified the source accordingly. After compiling, I found that there are several dependencies that needed updating in order to use these updated assemblies (Microsoft.Owin.Security.Facebook and Microsoft.Owin.Security.Google) in the MVC project: Microsoft.Owin Microsoft.Owin.Security Microsoft.Owin.Security.Cookies Microsoft.Owin.Security.OAuth Microsoft.Owin.Host.SystemWeb This was done by replacing the existing project references to the 3.0.0 versions and updating those in web.config. Good news: the project compiles successfully. In debugging, I received an exception on startup: An exception of type 'System.IO.FileLoadException' occurred in [MVC web assembly].dll but was not handled in user code Additional information: Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.Owin.Security, Version=3.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' or one of its dependencies. The located assembly's manifest definition does not match the assembly reference. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131040) The underlying exception indicated that Microsoft.AspNet.Identity.Owin was trying to load v2.1.0 of Microsoft.Owin.Security when calling app.UseExternalSignInCookie() from Startup.ConfigureAuth(IAppBuilder app) in Startup.Auth.cs. Unfortunately that assembly (and its other dependency, Microsoft.AspNet.Identity.Owin) aren't part of the Project Katana solution, and I can't find any accessible repository for these assemblies online. Are the Microsoft.AspNet.Identity assemblies open source, like the Katana project? Is there a way to fool those assemblies to use the referenced v3.0.0 assemblies instead of v2.1.0? The /bin folder contains the 3.0.0 versions of the Owin assemblies. I've upgraded the NuGet packages for Microsoft.AspNet.Identity.Owin, and this is still an issue. Any ideas on how to resolve this issue?

• Parse JSON in C#

  I'm trying to parse some JSON data from the Google AJAX Search API. I have this URL and I'd like to break it down so that the results are displayed. I've currently written this code, but I'm pretty lost in regards of what to do next, although there are a number of examples out there with simplified JSON strings. Being new to C# and .NET in general I've struggled to get a genuine text output for my ASP.NET page so I've been recommended to give JSON.NET a try. Could anyone point me in the right direction to just simply writing some code that'll take in JSON from the Google AJAX Search API and print it out to the screen? EDIT: I think I've made some progress in regards to getting some code working using DataContractJsonSerializer. Here is the code I have so far. Any advice on whether this is close to working and/or how I would output my results in a clean format? EDIT 2: I've followed the advice from Dreas Grech and the StackOverflowException has gone.   I downloaded the source of the js-test-driver from: http://js-test-driver.googlecode.com/svn/tags/1.2 It compiles just fine, but one of the unit tests fails: [junit] Tests run: 1, Failures: 1, Errors: 0, Time elapsed: 0.012 sec [junit] Test com.google.jstestdriver.eclipse.ui.views.FailureOnlyViewerFilterTest FAILED I am using: - ANT 1.7.1 - javac 1.6.0_12 And I'm trying to install the js-test-driver plugin on Eclipse 3.5.1 Galileo Despite the failed test I installed the plugin into my C:\eclipse\dropins\js-test-driver directory by copying (exporting from svn) the compiled feature and plugins directories there, to see if it would yield any hints to what the problem is. When I started eclipse, added the plugin to the panel using Window-Show View-Other... Other-JsTestDriver The plugin for the panel is added, but it displays the following error instead of the plugin in the panel: Could not create the view: Plugin com.google.jstestdriver.eclipse.ui was unable to load class com.google.jstestdriver.eclipse.ui.views.JsTestDriverView. • Problems with builds on TFS 2010 and resolving dependencies

  Hi I have a project that works great on my machine (and production servers). It's a VS2010 project running C#3.5. When letting my build server build the solution it can't resolve a couple of my third party dll's. Error message: C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319\Microsoft.Common.targets(1360,9): warning MSB3268: The primary reference "Third.Party.Assembly, Version=50.11.2.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=0561a7c6dbd6f0ea, processorArchitecture=MSIL" could not be resolved because it has an indirect dependency on the framework assembly "Microsoft.VisualBasic.Compatibility, Version=8.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a" which could not be resolved in the currently targeted framework. ".NETFramework,Version=v3.5". • Visual Studio 2008 SignTool.exe not found

  I can't publish in 2008, I was previously using 2005 and it published just fine. Error 2 An error occurred while signing: SignTool.exe not found. I know there are tons of hits for a search on signtool.exe on google. The ones I've found involve copying the file to X,Y,Z locations and ensuring signtool matches up with your VS command prompt path. When I run my start- program files - visual studio 2008 - Visual Studio Tools - Visual Studio Command prompt. and type signtool.exe it finds the file just fine. I have Visual Studio 2005 professional edition, Visual studio 2008 profession edition, Visual studio 2005 SDK February 2007, just installed Visial Studio 2008 SDK1.1 to see if that would fix it, no luck. I have copied signtool.exe to lots of places that were suggested on the google searches, it is now located at all of the following: C:\Program Files\Visual Studio 2005 SDK\2007.02 C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\Common7\Tools C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\VB\Bin C:\WINNT\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v3.5 C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v6.0A\Bin C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\Common7\Tools\Bin C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\SDK\v2.0\Bin C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\SDK\v3.5\Bin C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\VB\Bin\1033 C:\Program Files\Visual Studio 2005 SDK\2007.02\VisualStudioIntegration\Tools\Bin I'm on windows XP 2009-06-12 update I can only publish if I copy signtool.exe to the project folder I'm publishing now.

  I have a if function that works out how much of a users profile is completed however the way I include below was the best I could think of, however it seems really inefficient.   I need to connect to a MongoDB instance from my EJB3 application, running on glassfish 3.0.1. The Mongo project provides a set of drivers, and I'm able to use them in a standalone Java application. How would I use them in a JEE application? Or maybe better phrasing: how would I make a 3rd party library available to my application when it runs in an EJB container? • Authentication problem with Wufoo

  I set up a Wufoo form with admin only portions that will only show up if I am logged in. I read through the Wufoo API documentation and I can get the authenication to work, but when I try to access the form after I authenticate, it says I need to authenticate.   The background: I have a project that I last built on 10.5 on a PPC computer using xcode v3.1. It builds against the 10.4 SDK. I now have a MacBook with 10.6 on it and Xcode v3.2.1. I installed the 10.4 SDK with xcode. So now I want to build the project on an intel chip on 10.6. I first get a build error because I have the wrong version of gcc setup so I change the build settings to use gcc 4.0.   I am building my site with a web deployment project but the build fails with a number of errors all relating to the "#include virtual" directives in my master page. The includes are necessary to import a set of centrally managed html template files. Here is an example of the include directive and associated error: <!-- #include virtual="/v3/sits/pdpdev/assets-templates/inc/head.html" --> /PDPRegistration.csproj/Pages/ContentPage.Master(15): error ASPPARSE: Failed to map the path '/v3/sits/pdpdev/assets-templates/inc/head.html'. The error for each included file actually appears multiple times. I'm not sure what is being mapped or why, but this was never a problem until I started using WDP (which I wanted to alter web.config depending on the build environment, among other things.) The project is built locally on my PC and then copied to the web server via a mapped drive. I found a few solutions on the 'net involving IIS metabase - they weren't quite clear to me, and I'm not sure if they apply given how I build and deploy the project (that is, would I have to build on the same system as IIS in order to make use of the metabase?) Can anyone suggest how I can get my project to build with WDP?

• Can't create new "enterprise" project in netbeans

  I'm running netbeans 6.7.1 on Ubuntu Karmic. On the services tab I added a new glassfish v3 prelude server, I installed it to my home directory using the download button. I started the server and opened localhost:4848 to verify I can get into the admin panel. Then I did file-new projct and created a new java web-web application. On the configuration step of the wizard it preselected glassfish v3 prelude and java ee 5. I accepted and did a test run. I ran the project just fine. So now I did file-new projecct and attempted to create a Java EE-ejb module. When I arrive to the server configuration stage of the wizard, it doesn't show any servers on the server dropdown list (so it's empty), it also doesn't see any version of java on the "java ee version" dropdown list. This also happens for the other "Java EE" project types. I can't seem to get my head around why I can make a new web application but not an ejb module. Can anyone provide any insight to why it might not be seeing that I have java or glassfish installed when I try to make a new java ee project but I see it when I try to make a java web project?

• How exactly do MbUnit's [Parallelizable] and DegreeOfParallelism work?

  I thought I understood how MbUnit's parallel test execution worked, but the behaviour I'm seeing differs sufficiently much from my expectation that I suspect I'm missing something! I have a set of UI tests that I wish to run concurrently. All of the tests are in the same assembly, split across three different namespaces. All of the tests are completely independent of one another, so I'd like all of them to be eligible for parallel execution. To that end, I put the following in the AssemblyInfo.cs: [assembly: DegreeOfParallelism(8)] [assembly: Parallelizable(TestScope.All)] My understanding was that this combination of assembly attributes should cause all of the tests to be considered [Parallelizable], and that the test runner should use 8 threads during execution. My individual tests are marked with the [Test] attribute, and nothing else. None of them are data-driven. However, what I actually see is at most 5-6 threads being used, meaning that my test runs are taking longer than they should be. Am I missing something? Do I need to do anything else to ensure that all of my 8 threads are being used by the runner? N.B. The behaviour is the same irrespective of which runner I use. The GUI, command line and TD.Net runners all behave the same as described above, again leading me to think I've missed something. EDIT: As pointed out in the comments, I'm running v3.1 of MbUnit (update 2 build 397). The documentation suggests that the assembly level [parallelizable] attribute is available, but it does also seem to reference v3.2 of the framework despite that not yet being available. But the error occured again after 3 days at same code i.e while connecting to DB. We checked TCP connections using netstat. Our application has multiple long running Java processes that pools the DB connections (not more than 60) and keeps it alive for firing the next query (as it has to poll the DB every 2 seconds). Some of the queries in our application are joining large tables (10 million records) to get the related data. We are using following System and applications Windows 2003 server SP2 Java 1.6 Postgres Plus Advanced server 8.4 Database edb-jdbc14.jar driver for connection DB from Java We have used the default configuration of Postgres DB except increasing the connection to 120 from 100. Has anybody encountred the same error with postgres edb driver? Can anybody help us finding the solution?

  I took over maintenance of a PHP app recently and I'm not super familiar with PHP but some of the things I've been seeing on the site are making me nervous that it could be vulnerable to a SQL injection attack. When I use that on the command line, I get an administrative user back, but when I try it in the application, I get an invalid username/password error, like I should. Could there be some sort of global PHP configuration they have enabled to block these attacks? Where would that be configured? • Python Speeding Up Retrieving data from extremely large string

  I have a list I converted to a very very long string as I am trying to edit it, as you can gather it's called tempString. It works as of now it just takes way to long to operate, probably because it is several different regex subs. They are as follow: tempString = ','.join(str(n) for n in coords) tempString = re.sub(',{2,6}', '_', tempString) tempString = re.sub("[^0-9\-\.\_]", ",", tempString) tempString = re.sub(',+', ',', tempString) clean1 = re.findall(('[-+]?[0-9]*\.?[0-9]+,[-+]?[0-9]*\.?[0-9]+,' '[-+]?[0-9]*\.?[0-9]+'), tempString) tempString = '_'.join(str(n) for n in clean1) tempString = re.sub(',', ' ', tempString) Basically it's a long string containing commas and about 1-5 million sets of 4 floats/ints (mixture of both possible),: -5.65500020981,6.88999986649,-0.454999923706,1,,,-5.65500020981,6.95499992371,-0.454999923706,1,,, The 4th number in each set I don't need/want, i'm essentially just trying to split the string into a list with 3 floats in each separated by a space. The above code works flawlessly but as you can imagine is quite time consuming on large strings. I have done a lot of research on here for a solution but they all seem geared towards words, i.e. swapping out one word for another. EDIT: Ok so this is the solution i'm currently using: def getValues(s): output = [] while s: # get the three values you want, discard the 3 commas, and the # remainder of the string v1, v2, v3, _, _, _, s = s.split(',', 6) output.append("%s %s %s" % (v1.strip(), v2.strip(), v3.strip())) return output coords = getValues(tempString) Anyone have any advice to speed this up even farther? After running some tests It still takes much longer than i'm hoping for. I've been glancing at numPy, but I honestly have absolutely no idea how to the above with it, I understand that after the above has been done and the values are cleaned up i could use them more efficiently with numPy, but not sure how NumPy could apply to the above. The above to clean through 50k sets takes around 20 minutes, I cant imagine how long it would be on my full string of 1 million sets. I'ts just surprising that the program that originally exported the data took only around 30 secs for the 1 million sets

  I have the following setup. Class, say, Car that has a CarPart (belongsTo=[car:Car]). When I'm creating a Car I also want to create som default CarParts, so I do def car = new Car(bla bla bla) def part = new CarPart(car:car) Now, when I do car.validate() or part.validate() it seems fine.   motivation: I would like to create a utility class so that instead of having to write: if( someVal == val1 || someVal == val2 || someVal == val3 ) I could instead write: if( is(someVal).in(val1, val2, val3) ) which is much closer to the mathematical 'a is an element of (b,c,d)' and also would save on a lot of typing when the variable name 'someVal' is long. Here is the code I have so far (for 2 and 3 values): template<class T> class is { private: T t_; public: is(T t) : t_(t) { } bool in(const T& v1, const T& v2) { return t_ == v1 || t_ == v2; } bool in(const T& v1, const T& v2, const T& v3) { return t_ == v1 || t_ == v2 || t_ == v3; } }; However it fails to compile if I write: is(1).in(3,4,5); instead I have to write is<int>(1).in(3,4,5); Which isn't too bad, but it would be better if somehow the compiler could figure out that the type is int with out me having to explicitly specify it. Is there anyway to do this or I am stuck with specifying it explicitly?

  So I'm working on porting Boids to Brightscript, based on the pseudocode here: http://www.kfish.org/boids/pseudocode.html I'm trying to understand the data structures involved, for example is Velocity a single value, or is it a 3D value, ie velocity={x,y,z} It seems as if the pseudocode seems to mix this up where sometimes it has an equation that incudes both vectors and single-value items: v1 = rule1(b) v2 = rule2(b) v3 = rule3(b) b.velocity = b.velocity + v1 + v2 + v3 If Velocity is a tripartite value then this would make sense, but I'm not sure. So my first question here is, is this the correct datastructure for a single boid based on the Pseudocode on that page: boid={position:{px:0,py:0,pz:0},velocity:{x:0,y:0,z:0},vector:{x:0,y:0,z:0},pc:{x:0,y:0,z:0},pv:{x:0,y:0,z:0}) where pc=perceived center, pv= perceived velocity I"ve implemented a vector_add, vector_sub, vector_div, and vector boolean functions. The reason I'm starting from this pseudocode is I've not been able to find anything else that is as readable, but it still leaves me with lots of questions as the data structures are not explicitly defined for each variable. (edit) here's a good example of what i'm talking about: IF |b.position - bJ.position| < 100 THEN if b.position - b[j].position are both 3D coordinates, how can they be considered "less than 100" unless they are < {100,100,100} ? Maybe that is what I need to do here, use a vector comparison function?
