    I'd like to automatically charge my members a variable amount of money based on the services they use on my website. They would accumulate a balance owing, and then every week they would be charged for that amount. Is there a way I can do this without having to store their credit card information in my database? (Similar to my last question, but I just realized I don't really want to go through the headaches and liability issues of having to safely store CC info)

  • Locking behaviour is different via network shares

    I have been trying to lock a file so that other cloned services cannot access the file. I then read the file, and then move the file when finished. The Move is allowed by using FileShare.Delete. However in later testing, we found that this approach does not work if we are looking at a network share. I appreciate my approach may not have been the best, but my specific question is: Why does the below demo work against the local file, but not against the network file?     The Twitter Search api returns results in ATOM/XML format which look like this: <author> <name>username (Friendly Name)</name> <uri>http://twitter.com/username</uri> </author> In my PHP I can get the name field as a variable, so it would look like this: $names = "username (Friendly Name)" But I want to use PHP to extract them as seperate variables, like this: $username = "username" $friendlyName = "Friendly Name" (without parantheses) TIA!

    In this query select wrd from tablename WHERE wrd LIKE '$partial%' I'm trying to bind the variable '$partial%' with PDO. Not sure how this works with the % at the end. Would it be select wrd from tablename WHERE wrd LIKE ':partial%' where :partial is bound to $partial="somet" or would it be select wrd from tablename WHERE wrd LIKE ':partial' where :partial is bound to $partial="somet%" or would it be something entirely different?

  • Parsing tnsnames.ora using regex...

    I am attempting to pull some information from my tnsnames file using regex. I started with the following pattern: MYSCHEMA *? = *?[\W\w\S\s]*\(HOST *?= *?(?<host>\w+\s?)\)\s?\(PORT *?= *?(?<port>\d+)\s?\)[\W\w\S\s]*\(SERVICE_NAME *?= *?(?<servicename>\w+)\s?\) which worked fine when MYSCHEMA was the only schema in the file, but when there are other schemas listed after MYSCHEMA it matches all the way to the last schema. I have since created a new pattern: MYSCHEMA *=\s*\(DESCRIPTION =\s*\(ADDRESS *= *\(PROTOCOL *= *TCP\)\(HOST *= *(?<host>\w+)\)\(PORT *= *(?<port>\d+)\)\)\s*\(CONNECT_DATA *=\s*(?<serverdedicated>\(SERVER *= *DEDICATED\))\s*\(SERVICE_NAME *= *(?<servicename>[\w\.]+) *\)\s*\)\s*\) This pattern matches MYSCHEMA only, but I had to add every element that appeared in MYSCHEMA entry, and it won't match MYOTHERSCHEMA if it does not contain all the same elements. Ideally, I'd like a pattern that matches MYSCHEMA entry only, and captures HOST, PORT and SERVICE NAME, and optionally (SERVER = DEDICATED) (which I didn't have in the first pattern) to named groups.   • Corner Cases, Unexpected and Unusual Matlab

    Over the years, reading others code, I encountered and collected some examples of Matlab syntax which can be at first unusual and counterintuitive. Please, feel free to comment or complement this list. I verified it r2006a. set([], 'Background:Color','red') Matlab is very forgiving sometimes. In this case, setting properties to an array of objects works also with nonsense properties, at least when the array is empty. myArray([1,round(end/2)]) This use of end keyword may seem unclean but is sometimes very handy instead of using length(myArray). any([]) ~= all([]) Surprisigly any([]) returns false and all([]) returns true. And I always thought that all is stronger then any. EDIT: with not empty argument all() returns true for a subset of values for which any() returns true (e.g. truth table). This means that any() false implies all() false. This simple rule is being violated by Matlab with [] as argument. Loren also blogged about it. Select(Range(ExcelComObj)) Procedural style COM object method dispatch. Do not wonder that exist('Select') returns zero! [myString, myCell] Matlab makes in this case an implicit cast of string variable myString to cell type {myString}. It works, also if I would not expect it to do so. [double(1.8), uint8(123)] => 2 123 Another cast example. Everybody would probably expect uint8 value being cast to double but Mathworks have another opinion. a = 5; b = a(); It looks silly but you can call a variable with round brackets. Actually it makes sense because this way you can execute a function given its handle. a = {'aa', 'bb' 'cc', 'dd'}; Surprsisingly this code neither returns a vector nor rises an error but defins matrix, using just code layout. It is probably a relict from ancient times. set(hobj, {'BackgroundColor','ForegroundColor'},{'red','blue'}) This code does what you probably expect it to do. That function set accepts a struct as its second argument is a known fact and makes sense, and this sintax is just a cell2struct away. Equvalence rules are sometimes unexpected at first. For example 'A'==65 returns true (although for C-experts it is self-evident). About which further unexpected/unusual Matlab features are you aware?

  • Expression Blend doesn't recognize comand objects declared in code behind file

    I have a WPF UserControl. The code behind file declares some RoutedUICommand objects which are referenced in the XAML. The application builds and runs just fine. However Expression Blend 3 cannot load the XAML in the designer and gives errors like this one: The member "ResetCameraComand" is not recognized or accessible. The class and the member are both public. Building and rebuilding the project in Blend and restarting Blend hasn't helped. Any ideas what the problem is?     My understanding is that in order to return a complex PHP variable to Javascript, it should be done via AJAX and json_encode. Could somebody give me an actual example (both PHP and Javascript code) of this? Lets say we have the two-dim array in PHP: $twoDArr = array( array('Greg', 44, 'Owner'), array('Joe', 23, 'Renter'), array('Susan', 39, 'Owner'), array('John', 32, 'Renter) ); How would we return this to an analogous two dimensional array in javascript using json_encode?

  • How can I run a BitchX when I don't have ssh or shell access?

    I just installed an IRC bot, B****X (Don't ask, I don't know - the real name is not censored). I did all of the configuration and chmod'ed the pl files to 755, but running it won't work. My host does not allow SSH/Shell (which is how the documentation says to runs he script), but just going to the URL usually works because of this. However, I get a 500 (Internal Server Error) error.
