• run two apache servers on one computer

  I would like to run two XAMPP apache servers and mysql on one Windows computer. My first idea was to run one under directory XAMPP, the other under XAMPP_B. Why you ask? I have two applications that have to be in the "root" directory of localhost. Both servers do not have to be active at same time, so I don't think I will have any conflicts I will have to modify my.cnf in mySQL httpd.conf, apache_start and maybe other config files as well. Or maybe someone can suggest a better way...

• Memory leak with preg_replace

  I'm using the preg_replace function to replace accents in a string, I'm working with UTF-8. I have incurred in what seems to be a memory leak, but I can't isolate the root cause, my code is rather simple: preg_replace( array_keys($aToNoAccents), array_values($aToNoAccents), $sText ); where $aToNoAccents is an associative array with entries like '~[A]~u' => 'A', '~[C]~u' => 'C',. My script prints this error for the above line: Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 1073741824 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 3039 bytes) Obviously it's not a matter of increasing the allowed memory for PHP, (a 1Gb footprint is way off the scale of my application). Also, that line is executed thousands of times without problems but, just for some cases which are difficult to reproduce, it yields the error. Is anyone aware of memory problems with preg_replace and UTF-8 strings? Am I to use special care in passing actual parameters to such function? I'm using PHP 5.2.6-3 with Suhosin-Patch thanks Silvio

  Hello I have this in my .htaccess file, in the site root: Options -Indexes <directory ../.*> Deny from all </directory> <Files .htaccess> order allow,deny deny from all </Files> <Files index.php> Order allow,deny allow from all </Files> What I'm trying to achieve is to block folder and file access to anything that isn't called index.php, regardless of which directory is accessed. I have the folder part working perfectly and the deny from all rule is working as well - but my attempt to allow access to index.php is failing. Basically could someone tell me how to get it working?

• How to move Mailboxes over from old Exchange 2007 to new EBS 2008 network?

  Hi all, This q is similar to: http://serverfault.com/questions/39070/how-to-move-exchange-2003-mailbox-or-store-from-2003-to-2007-on-separate-networks Basically I am trying to move our exchange mailboxes over to a test domain that is hosting EBS2008 with Exchange 2007. We plan to move as soon as we can when we have our exchange data over. I have tried moving a db with mailboxes over but cannot get it to mount in the new Exchange in any way possible, including mounting it onto a recovery store. From my understanding the ONLY prerequisite for moving Exchange DBs across is that it must have the same Organizational name (unlike previous versions of Exchange). If anyone has any insight as to why I cannot mount and simply reattach the mailboxes, please give me an idea as to what could be wrong. It should be as simple as this. Note that the DBs I have are in a clean state. I cannot use ExMerge because I am not running any mailboxes on 2003. I have also tried using a 32bit Vista machine with the Export-Mailbox cmdlet to extract mailboxes but anything I do to it results in Permission errors. I have tried to troubleshoot these with no success. I am running in full admin with proper exchange roles and yet it still gives me access denied errors: Export-Mailbox : MapiExceptionNetworkError: Unable to make admin interface conn ection to server. (hr=0x80040115, ec=-2147221227) Also some errors show in the management console: get-MailboxDatabase Completed Warning: ERROR: Could not connect to the Microsoft Exchange Information Store service on server TATOOINE.baytech.local. One of the following problems may be occurring: 1- The Microsoft Exchange Information Store service is not running. 2- There is no network connectivity to server TATOOINE.baytech.local. 3- You do not have sufficient permissions to perform this command. The following permissions are required to perform this command: Exchange View-Only Administrator and local administrators group for the target server. 4- Credentials have been cached for an unpriviledged user. Try removing the entry for this server from Stored User Names and Passwords. Why I have to use a 32bit machine to export a simple .pst file is beyond me... So yeah I am now out of ideas and any help would be great! Thanks in advance.

• Windows 8 with LiveID login authenticates as Guest to remote SQl Server

  I have a network where several users are using Office Accounting 2009 in multi-user client/server mode. OA is built on SQL Server. One PC acts as the 'server' and has the SQl Server instance, the others have only the application installed and no SQL instance, all of the apps connect remotely to the SQL instance on the 'server'. I'm using the term 'server' loosely here, it is just a normal workstation that happens to be designated as the server and runs the SQL instance. There is no NT domain, all user accounts are local accounts. The way that OA works in multi-user mode is that each user is required to have a local account with the same username and password on both the client and 'server' PCs. This has been working well, no along comes Windows 8. I use my 'Microsoft Account' aka LiveID to log into Windows 8. Office Accounting runs fine and attempts to connect to the database, but fails, 'you do not have permission to perform this operation'. In the SQL logs, I get this error: 2012-10-28 17:54:01.32 Logon Error: 18456, Severity: 14, State: 11. 2012-10-28 17:54:01.32 Logon Login failed for user 'SERVER\Guest'. Reason: Token-based server access validation failed with an infrastructure SERVER is the hostname of the server. So it seems to be authenticating as 'Guest'?? To verify this, I enabled the Guest account on the 'server' PC and then added Guest as an allowed user within Office Accounting (this simply creates the user in SQL and gives it an appropriate database role). Sure enough, My Windows 8 PC was then able to connect to the database when using Office Accounting. Clearly, having users authenticate as 'Guest' stinks from a security and auditing standpoint. So what I need are some ideas for how to work around this. I've tried switching the Windows 8 PC to a 'local account' and that works too, but requires giving up significant functionality on the Windows 8 PC. What I really need is a way to force the Windows 8 PC to use a specific set of credentials when connecting to the remote SQL instance. Office Accounting takes the logged in username, which is my LiveID and doesn't correspond to any Windows user name. Anyone solved this issue?

  I'm very new to RTMP streaming and am seeking help. Just enough to get me started. I have been Googling for about 5-7 hours now and still cannot determine my answer! The documentation of Red5 is limited and cannot find any support at all! Even similar questions to mine are unanswered on stackoverflow :( My questions are: Why can't I simply place an .mp3 inside red5's server root and play it? To serve a simple MP3 file over RTMP. Do I need to write a Java application? If so, any pointers? To make matters worse, I have little to none Java experience. Please help ST.

• Gaining information from nodes of tree

  I am working with the tree data structure and trying to come up with a way to calculate information I can gain from the nodes of the tree. I am wondering if there are any existing techniques which can assign higher numerical importance to a node which appears less frequently at lower level (Distance from the root of the tree) than the same nodes appearance at higher level and high frequency. To give an example, I want to give more significance to node Book, at level 2 appearing once, then at level 3 appearing thrice. • mod_rewrite infinite loop problem

  Hi guys, I've been trying to do the following with mod_rewrite on the server there is a file about.htm (which is found in the root directory of the domain) I need to redirect about.htm to about/ On the server still keep about.htm, hence when about/ is called, it actually loads up about.htm I tried something like this: RewriteRule ^about/$ about.htm [L] RewriteRule ^about\.htm$ about/ [R=302] I also tried changing it a bit and see what happends, but I always end up with an infinite loop of redirection or a 500 server error. Any idea why it's not working as intended? Thanks in advance!

• Can I get a dump of all my databases *except one* using mysqldump?

  I'm currently using mySQLdump to backup my dev machine and servers. There is one project I just started, however, that has a HUUUUUGE database that I don't really need backed up, and i'll be a big problem to add it to the rest of the backup cycle. I'm currently doing this: "c:\Program Files\mysql\MySQL Server 5.1\bin\mysqldump" -u root -pxxxxxx --all-databases g:\backups\MySQL\mysqlbackup.sql Is it possible to somehow specify "except this database(s)"? I wouldn't like to have to specify the list of DBs manually, since that would mean that I'd have to remember updating my backup batch file every time I create a new DB, and I know that's not gonna happen. EDIT: As you probably guessed from my command line above, i'm doing this on Windows, so I can't do any kind of fancy bash stuff, only wimpy .bat things. Alternatively, if you have other ideas to solve this same issue, they are more than welcome, of course! Thanks Daniel

• Stream a file to the HTTP response in Pylons

  I have a Pylons controller action that needs to return a file to the client. (The file is outside the web root, so I can't just link directly to it.) The simplest way is, of course, this: with open(filepath, 'rb') as f: response.write(f.read()) That works, but it's obviously inefficient for large files. What's the best way to do this? I haven't been able to find any convenient methods in Pylons to stream the contents of the file. Do I really have to write the code to read a chunk at a time myself from scratch?

  I have a folder with a bunch of log files. Each set of log files is in a folder detailing the time and date that the program was run. Inside these log folders, I've got some video files that I want to extract. All I want is the video files, nothing else. I tried using this command to only copy the video files, but it didn't work because a directory didn't exist. .rmv is the file extension of the files I want. $ find . -regex ".*.rmv" -type f -exec cp '{}' /copy/to/here/'{}' If I have a folder structure such as: |- root | |--- folder1 | |----- file.rmv | |--- folder2 | |----- file2.rmv How can I get it to copy to copy/to/here with it copying the structure of folder1 and folder2 in the destination directory?

  I've tried searching but couldn't come up with a defined way on how to add your own packages to a GWT project. My tree structure looks like this: -com.mycompany -public MyApplication.html MyApplication.gwt.xml -com.mycompany.client MyApp.java -com.mycompany.gui TableLayout.java The answer I've seen out there says to add the packages relative to the root directory of the gwt.xml file, like so: <module> <inherits name="com.google.gwt.user.User" /> <entry-point class="com.mycompany.client.MyApp" /> <source path="client" /> <source path="gui" /> </module> It then complains: Unable to find type 'com.technicon.client.MyApp' Hint: Previous compiler errors may have made this type unavailable Hint: Check the inheritance chain from your module; it may not be inheriting a required module or a module may not be adding its source path entries properly Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong and how to fix this?

• RSH between servers not working

  I have two servers: one CentOS 5.8 & one Solaris 10. Both are joined to my workplace AD domain via PBIS-Open. A user will log into the linux server & run an application which issues commands over RSH to the solaris server. Some commands are also run on the linux server, so both are needed. Due to the application these servers are being used for (proprietary GE software), the software on the linux server needs to be able to issue rsh commands to the solaris server on behalf of the user (the user just runs a script & the rest is automatic). However, rsh is not working for the domain users. It does work for a local user, so I believe I have the necessary trust settings between the two servers correct. However, I can rlogin as a domain user from the linux server to the solaris server. SSH works too (how I wish I could use it). (2) the JSON instructions for deserialization? or (3) Some kinb of Obj-C coding instruction? My end use is a simple Drill Down table using the NSObject, so when I select "memberid" row, I'll get the child/detail list on the next UITableview. My Data.plist will look like the following: Root: Dictionary V Rows: Array V Item 0: Dictionary Title: String 18 V Children Array V Item 0 Dictionary Title String 30 etc. Thanks in advance, this site rocks.

• Reliable portability for C code without relying on the preprocessor

  Relying on the preprocessor and predefined compiler macros for achieving portability seems hard to manage. What's a better way to achieve portability for a C project? I want to put environment-specific code in headers that behave the same way. Is there a way to have the build environment choose which headers to include? I was thinking that I'd put the environment-specific headers into directories for specific environments. The build environment would then just copy the headers from the platform's directory into the root directory, build the project, and then remove the copies.

• Merging two folders using git

  I'm working on a project with some people who have never used git before. Not knowing the capabilities of git, they created two version of the project: development and production. These two versions are both present in the current environment. To complicate things further, this other user created these folders in addition to the old development folder. So the project directory looks like this /root /proj (old dev folder with my own code in it) /dev_proj (new folder which I would like to merge /prod with) /prod_proj (production code) So what I'd like to do is merge the work that I've done in /proj with the work in the /dev_proj. Is there a way to do this with git? I've thought about creating a branch, copying all the files from /proj to /dev_proj and merging that branch with master. Would this work? Thanks and if I could clarify something let me know.

• Explanation for expires header

  I have a joomla application working on Apache.To improve site performace we have written a .htaccess file to root of the application with setting a far future expires header to all the static content. As desired first time the files load in fresh with 200 status code. when again click on the same link many of the files are served directly from cache. I need explanation for two things When i press f5 then a number of files load with 304 status code however i expected them to be coming directly from cache without hitting the server for a status header? When i close the browser and come back to the same page again i see the same thing happening a number of files load with 304 status code although i thought they will load directly from the browser cache? I understand that 304 also servs file from browser cache but i want to avoid the header communication between servers as my static files wont ever change. Also i want to add that my requests are over a https connection does that create any issue.

• What's the best way to change the namespace of a highly referenced class?

  I am attempting to move a highly referenced class from one namespace to another. Simply moving the file into the new project which has a different root namespace results in over 1100 errors throughout my solution. Some references to the class involve fully qualified namescape referencing and others involve the importing of the namespace. I have tried using a refactoring tool (Refactor Pro) to rename the namespace, in the hope all references to the class would change, but this resulted in the aforementioned problem. Anyone have ideas of how to tackle this challenge without needing to drill into every file manually and changing the fully qualified namespace or importing the new one if it doesn't exist already? • Why can't I publish MVC project

  I'm having problems publishing my MVC project. When I do publish and upload everything to web server I get this: [InvalidOperationException: The view 'Index' or its master could not be found. The following locations were searched: ~/Views/Home/Index.aspx ~/Views/Home/Index.ascx ~/Views/Shared/Index.aspx ~/Views/Shared/Index.ascx] Weird thing is that Index.aspx exists in ~/Views/Home/, but IIS cannot find it there. If I copy entire project to web server and let asp.net compile it on the fly it works like a charm. Verify that the service on the destination is running and is accepting requests . Consult the logs and documentation for the WS-Management service running on the destination, most commonly IIS or Win RM. On top of that, despite the listners eing lsited on wsman, when I run PS WSMan:\localhost&gt; Get-PSSessionConfiguration I get Name PSVersion StartupScript Permission ---- --------- ------------- ---------- Microsoft.PowerShell 2.0 PS WSMan:\localhost&gt; Any ideas what I'm missing/doing wrong? edit: Windows 2003.
