• Uncaught TypeError: Converting circular structure to JSON

  We're using the fb:registration plugin to sign up users on our site. Today I noticed the registration redirect is no longer working in Google Chrome and Safari (latest public release). I know for sure it was working with the same code as recently as last week. It seems to be getting stuck on submission with this error, which is coming from: static.ak.fbcdn.net/rsrc.php/v1/ys/r/ioE9qOq_5Oa.js:101 Firefox and IE have no problem, so it seems to be Webkit specific. Any ideas?

• Android EditText within a ListView

  I have created a custom Array Adapter to bind a custom row that contains some static text and an editable EditText. I am trying to register to be notified when the user changes the text within the edit text and when notified to determine which ArrayList row the modified EditText corresponds to. In the past with other types of views such as a Spinner I could simply put a reference to the parent view and the row number into the tag for the Spinner view. And then when I was notified that the value changed I read the tag to determine how to correlate it back to the master ArrayList. The problem with registering to be notifed with an EditText change is that you do not get back a view but instead get a TextWatcher and I have no way to correlate back to the parent view or ArrayList row. What is the technique that you need to use in this circumstance?

• Are there any nasty side affects if i lock the HttpContext.Current.Cache.Insert method

  Apart from blocking other threads reading from the cache what other problems should I be thinking about when locking the cache insert method for a public facing website. The actual data retrieval and insert into the cache should take no more than 1 second, which we can live with. More importantly i don't want multiple thread potentially all hitting the Insert method at the same time.   I have the following function in C#, that I want to pass a MySQL DataReader value/object. If the value of the object passed is a DBNull I need to handle it and return a Null value of that data type e.g null int.   I am confused :) I'm using the p18n component in cakephp found here: http://www.palivoda.eu/2008/04/i18n-in-cakephp-12-database-content-translation-part-2/ This component requires me to set in core.php the following constant: define("DEFAULT_LANGUAGE", 'eng') However when this is set I cannot change the language using: Configure::write('Config.language', 'eng'); At the moment, into my knowledge, the only way to change the locale of my static content is the use of the Configure::write. But for the dynamic content to change through the use of the p28n component I must have the DEFINE_LANGUAGE constant set to a value. This is all very confusing. Any help will be much appreciated.

• Headless HTML rendering to image on CentOS 5.4

  Hello, I have a project requirement to render HTML and capture the rendered image as a file on a headless CentOS 5.4 server. My specific requirements are: 1) Input will be a URL to the page to render, output will be an image file containing the rendered image of the page 2) CSS must be supported by the renderer up to CSS level-1 3) Static images in the page must be displayed properly in the rendered image, including any transparent color in .GIF files 4) Must be able to run on a headless CentOS 5.4 server. 5) Solution must not depend on any product or component that is not free for commercial use I do not need to do anything with the page other than get the screen capture and save it to an image. The hard part seems to be doing this in a headless environment. Some of the solutions that I've seen discussed need a display in order to work. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance, Jim

  I have some webforms which have been working fine with various static and dynamically generated validators. For some reason now that I have implemented UpdatePanels on the forms, when I manually call the ValidatorEnable() method on one of them (when I click a checkbox) I get the "ValidatorEnable is not defined" error message. I am passing the same clientID etc into the method that I was using before I implemented the AJAX.net controls It would seem .net isnt rendering the /WebResource.axd?d=aUu4P3dfjWWyw3KQ9t2ZdqxnzYhrtq9uWWiRZduXE-g1 script to the page, adding it manually I get other missing JS objects. So how can I force it to register the relevant scripts? N.B. The validators in question are being rendered in a repeater

  Environment: ASP.NET web applicaition jQuery, ASP.NET AJAX Currently using ASP.NET Web Services The title says it all. One, how do i create an ASP.NET web service that is asynchronous? I've seen many articles, that show example with IAsyncResult and BeginMyWebServiceMethod and EndMyWebServiceMethod, some using ThreadPool etc. I would just like to know what is the simplest way to make an asynchronous web service method call (ideally without having to implement other classes, if possible). To me it should be as simple as adding an attribute to the method (but I think that is wishful thinking), e.g. public SomeWebService : WebService { [Asynchronous] public static bool SomeCheck() { // code } } I'm open to using WCF if that makes it easier (we converted to ASP.NET 3.5 around Christmas time). Once I have the asynchronous web service created, what is the best way to call it from client-side script? Via jQuery's $ajax or ASP.NET's auto generated class for a web service that is script method?

  I want to define a base class that defines a main method that instantiates the class, and runs a method. There are a couple of problems though. However, in order to do so, I need to instantiate the derived class from within the base class's main method. Which doesn't seem to be possible. I'd rather not have to repeat the main method for every derived class, as it feels somewhat unnessary. Is there a right way of doing this?

• Flex - weird display behavior on large number of Canvas

  Hi, I have a Flex app (SDK 3.5 - FP10) that does mindmap trees. Every node is a Canvas (I'm using Canvas specific properties so I needed it). It has a shadow effect, background color and some small ui element on it (like icons, texts...). It works perfectly until it goes over ~700 nodes (Canvas). Over that number it shows grey rectangles: http://yfrog.com/bhw2pj . If I turn off the DropShadowFilter effect for the Canvas, they are also gone, so I assume it's a DropShadowFilter problem: http://yfrog.com/2d9y8j .   Hello All.... I am just refreshing the oops features of the java. So, I have a little confusion regarding inheritance concept. For that I have a following sample code : class Super{ int index = 5; public void printVal(){ System.out.println("Super"); } } class Sub extends Super{ int index = 2; public void printVal(){ System.out.println("Sub"); } } public class Runner { public static void main(String args[]){ Super sup = new Sub(); System.out.println(sup.index+","); sup.printVal(); } } Now above code is giving me output as : 5,Sub. Here, we are overriding printVal() method, so that is understandable that it is accessing child class method only. But I could not understand why it's accessing the value of x from Super class... Thanks in advance....
