  • Customize a custom menu in Visual Studio 2008

    I recently installed Platform builder 7 by Microsoft. It is a plug-in for VS2008. The plug-in adds the following menu: I want to remove several items from this menu and I would also like to add some button from it to a toolbar. The problem is that when I do customize I only get "advanced command placeholder" shortcut for the whole bunch. Like this: How do I access the internals of these commands menu?

  • Any way to make dialogs appear/disappear with a transition in MFC?

    For instance I have a main dialog, when I click a button a smaller dialog appears next to it. But it would be neat if the small one could somehow transition in, rather than simply appear. For instance using transparency, or zooming in, or sliding in from width=0 - full-width. Making an actual dialog do such things isn't too hard, but what about the controls within it? How might we approach this in a way that is reusable on different dialogs?

    Often, but not always, the first few clicks on the "Allow" button on the Flash camera permissions dialog are ignored. This is very frustrating for users. And for me, when I'm testing code! I'm afraid I don't really know what else to say about the problem to give more insight. My hunch is that it has something to do with getting focus on the embed element, but that is merely a guess.     I have a JTable that stores the results of a database query, so far so good. What I want is for the last column in each table to have a clickible JButton that will open the edit screen for the object represented in that row, and that means the button will need to know the details of the first column in the table from its own row (the ID from the database). Any advice? I already tried just adding JButtons but they turned into Text when I tried to run it.

I know it can be done if I download a PDF printer and print to that; but I need it to be done without the user having to do anything other than click a button in a webpage.     When you use facebook connect on the iPhone do you have to use the supplied login button and login screen built into the framework? The reason I ask is because I'm also using twitter and I would like to have the same user experience when they log in to user as they have when they log in to facebook. So I can either replicate the login screen facebook connect uses for twitter or just not use the facebook connect login screen all together.
