    Hello, I want to compare a column value to the current date, using HQL. I tried IQuery someQuery = session.CreateQuery(String.Format( @"Select s.Id From InventoryProductStateItem s where s.ValidFrom < current_date()")); This throws the exception "Incorrect syntax near keyword current_date()" Can someone help me?

  • ASP.NET UpdateProgress template does not disapper when panel in UpdatePanel has display set to none

    I am using very simple code where I have a update panel with some panels inside and a submit button. On submit, i hide one of the panels using this code: panel.Style.Add("display", "none"); I am also using a UpdateProgress which works great in all but this case. When i set the display to none using this code, the UpdateProgress template does not disappear! remove the line, all is well .... No idea why...

  • .NET Splash screen issues

    I have a splash screen for my C# database application that is called via the Shown event. The splash screen contains some information that is preprocessed when the main form's constructor is called, hence why I'm using the Shown event, because that information should be available. However, when the splash screen is shown, the main form is whited out, and the menu bar, bottom menu bar, and even the gray background are all white and invisible. It looks like the program is hanging, but after the 5 second delay I have built in, the banner goes away and the program is shown normally. Also, on the banner, I have labels that are not shown when the splash screen displays... Here is my code, some reasoning behind why it isn't working would help greatly. SPLASH SCREEN CODE : public partial class StartupBanner : Form { public StartupBanner(int missingNum, int expiredNum) { InitializeComponent(); missingLabel.Text = missingNum.ToString() + " MISSING POLICIES"; expiredLabel.Text = expiredNum.ToString() + " EXPIRED POLICIES"; } } CALLING CODE : private void MainForm_Shown(object sender, EventArgs e) { StartupBanner startup = new StartupBanner(missingPoliciesNum, expiredPoliciesNum); startup.MdiParent = this; startup.Show(); Thread.Sleep(5000); startup.Close(); } Using startup.ShowDialog() shows the correct label information on the splash screen, but that locks up the application, and I need the splash to go away after about 5 seconds, which is why it's a splash. ;)

    I have the following button: <Club:RolloverButton runat="server" ValidationGroup="Login1" Text="Login" ID="LoginButton" CommandName="Login" CssClass="links" /> .links { display: block; width: 96px; padding: 2px 0px 2px 0px; background: #A53602; text-align: center; text-transform: uppercase; font-size: 10px; color: #FFFFFF; } When this button shows up the first time it shows the style correctly, however if I hover my mouse over this button the layout turns into a standard button, why is that??

  • Generic data input form in asp.net mvc application

    Hello, I have an application that have EF 16 classes that share this information: They all are classes only with a key field and a description. I think it should be a waste if I make a controller with just 1 method just to present a form to fill these classes info, then I was thinking in to make a generic form(with key, description) and dynamically fill the right class through a sort of selection the selected info in any way, any good suggestion or pattern to do that? Where the generic methods should be located.

This would repeat for each person in IEnumerable<Person>. Are there any grids or components that generate a table like this? I found MvcContrib's grid component, but it doesn't appear to be able to generate these child rows. Is there a way to extend MvcContrib's grid to do this?

  • Strongly Typed Controls in .NET

    I am working on a Windows Forms app for quite some time now, and I really find myself doing more typecasts in the GUI code than I ever did in my underlying business code. What I mean becomes apparent if you watch the ComboBox control that accepts some vague "object" as it's item. Then you go off and may display some DisplayMember and a ValueMember and so on. If I want to retrieve that value later I need to typecast my object back to what it was. Like with strings getting the value takes string value = (string)combobox1.SelectedItem; Since there are generics in the Framework for quite some time now, I still wonder why in the Hell not one control from the standard toolbox is generic. I also find myself using the .Tag property on ListViewItems all the time to keep the displayed domain object. But everytime I need to access that object I then need another typecast. Why cant I just create a ComboBox or ListView with items of type ListViewItem Am I missing something here or is this just another example of not perfectly well thought through controls?

  • jQuery "growl-like" effect in VB.net

    Hey all, i have made a simple form that mimiks the jQuery "GROWL" effect seen here http://www.sandbox.timbenniks.com/projects/jquery-notice/ However, i have ran into a problem. If i have more than one call to the form to display a "Growl" then it just refreshes the same form with whatever call i send it. In other words, i can only display one form at a time instead of having one drop down and a new one appear above it.   • ASP.Net ListBox selections not working in Panel?

    Hi everyone, I'm having trouble processing a listbox after selecting some items from it. In my markup, the listbox is contained within an asp:panel and is populated during page load in the codebehind. That part works fine. It's when I select various items and submit that I have trouble. My handler loops through the listbox items but doesn't see any as being selected. I'm not sure why.   • How do I 'donut cache' in ASP.NET MVC for something more than a date

    All the examples for donut caching I've seen are just like this : <%= Html.Substitute( c => DateTime.Now.ToString() )%> Thats fine if I just want the date, but what other options are there? I know there is a delegate 'MvcSubstitutionCallback' which has the following signature : public delegate string MvcSubstitutionCallback(HttpContextBase httpContext); but RenderAction and RenderPartial returns void so i cant just return them from the delegate method. How can I effectively use this callback for more complex situations. I've looked at both of Phil Haacked's articles here and here, but neither seems to do exactly what I want.

    Understanding the difference between throw ex and throw, why is the original StackTrace preserved in this example: static void Main(string[] args) { try { LongFaultyMethod(); } catch (System.Exception ex) { Console.WriteLine(ex.StackTrace); } } static void LongFaultyMethod() { try { int x = 20; SomethingThatThrowsException(x); } catch (Exception) { throw; } } static void SomethingThatThrowsException(int x) { int y = x / (x - x); } But not in this one: static void Main(string[] args) { try { LongFaultyMethod(); } catch (System.Exception ex) { Console.WriteLine(ex.StackTrace); } } static void LongFaultyMethod() { try { int x = 20; int y = x / (x - 20); } catch (Exception) { throw; } } The second scenario is producing the same output as throw ex would? In both cases, one expects to see the line number where y is initialized.

    This is what I see when I visit my web site. How do I instead get the Yellow Screen of Death so I know what the error is? I have GoDaddy shared hosting and I think the problem is that I don't have the correct MVC binaries in the /bin folder. I've got like 8 of each file--which version is which?!

    Why in Boolean type there are two fields with the same value? internal const int True = 1; internal const int False = 0; internal const string TrueLiteral = "True"; internal const string FalseLiteral = "False"; and public static readonly string TrueString; public static readonly string FalseString; static Boolean() { TrueString = "True"; FalseString = "False"; } in reflector generated code, methods don't use those strings but: public string ToString(IFormatProvider provider) { if (!this) { return "False"; } return "True"; } would't it be better to use those const values?

  • Subsonic 3.0 - .Net - Error : Can not ceate an instance of an interface

    Hi, I am new to Subsonic, I have configured Subsonic3.0 T4 Template and created classes for my project. I have taken GridView and Object Datasource. Object datasource will connect to the one of the classes which is created from subsonic. I have set object datasource for g\fetch, Insert, Update and delete methods. Then i set the datasource of grid witht he object datasource. Grid view successfully showing me all the records. But at the time of Update, Insert or delete it throws an exception that "Can not ceate an instance of an interface". And also i am not able to dwbug in the code of the subsonic. May be because of partial classes. Can anyone please let me know what is happening at the backgrund? Or may be one can give me sample example which contains subsonic 3.0 and grid add, edit and delete so it will be really helpful for me.... Please... :) Thanks, George
