  • Image thumbnails flashes and then disappears in Windows Vista

    I have Windows Vista installed on my machine and I am facing this really annoying problem. Whenever I open a folder having images, image thumbnails appear for an instant and they are replaced by standard file icon. Argh... Points to note: Setting "Always show icon, never thumbnail" is unchecked Running Windows Aero theme (with transparency support) Have 4GB of RAM on my machine so memory is not a problem Please can you suggest a solution?

    My home page in Firefox [v4.0] and Internet Explorer [v9.0.8112.16421, Update Versions RTM (KB982861)] is currently set to Google but when I depress the quick start icon to start up either browser, I am getting the following immediate results: Unable to connect (In Firefox) Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at www.google.com. The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments. If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection. If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web. Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage What you can try: Diagnose Connection Problems More information This problem can be caused by a variety of issues, including: Internet connectivity has been lost. The website is temporarily unavailable. The Domain Name Server (DNS) is not reachable. The Domain Name Server (DNS) does not have a listing for the website's domain. There might be a typing error in the address. If this is an HTTPS (secure) address, click Tools, click Internet Options, click Advanced, and check to be sure the SSL and TLS protocols are enabled under the security section. For offline users You can still view subscribed feeds and some recently viewed webpages. To view subscribed feeds: Click the Favorites button , click Feeds, and then click the feed you want to view.     How can I get the Google Chrome web browser on my TV for under $100? ($200 MAX) I have a TV with HDMI and component inputs (but no bluetooth so firmware modding is out.) I want the solution to work with bluetooth peripherals--I already have a wireless Apple keyboard and Magic Mouse. I don't want a laptop or a desktop computer, unless it's in the general form factor of an HTPC or Mac Mini. Is there a way to make this happen?

  • Firefox hangs waiting for ssl.google-analytics.com

    It seems that FF has a problem with 403 Access Denied responses from proxies, at least for ssl.google-analytics.com. I've found this post which describes my problem. I'm posting my workaround as an answer, but would also welcome any more information if anyone has it as I can't find anything! EDIT: Note that the current version of Firefox which is experiencing this issue is 3.0.10 EDIT: Still there for FF 3.5...

  • Windows 7 driver search woefully slow

    Any thoughts on why the driver search (when installing a usb device) on windows 7 is woefully slow? Even when I click to disable trying to get a driver from windows update, it still takes 10min+ to either find a driver, or bail out. Is there a way to speed this up, or alternately, disable windows trying to find drivers, so I can manually install them in device manager?

Haven't Checked on Acronis though, but i don't simpatize with private solutions. Question: Is there a software solution which is able to build a "Live" image? Would appreciate anwsers, since I'm one step away from building a Clonezilla test enviroment and this will just help on my decision. Thank you.
